"She's an exceptional human."
lifting up his son, and handing him over to his mother.
"particularly for dealing with our first child. he wasn't as quiet adn easy going as Dhairiss here. he was a little hellion."
Giving his wife a kiss.
"Though I do think I'll make some plans to give a visit to the sea elves this trip. I was thinking of adding an aquarium to the main room, they can probably supply the best decor and proper fish. nothing that's going to eat each other in close proximity yet look good."

She laughed softly, shaking her head and finishing off her cider. Her stomach was full and she was quite satisfied. "You're making me sound like a wonderful person, Malikhai. Please, don't be fooled. I'm not all that great." Reaching out and lightly clasping his hand. "I'm probably going to upset you a lot if you choose to do this again. I'm not going to mean to but-" Trailing off and shaking her head. "I have to go. Thank you for this, Malikhai. It was...wonderful. Really...."

She took hold of Dhairiss, nuzzling at him a moment, much to his delight and cuddling back into her person. "That's because you spoiled him rotten when I wasn't looking." SHaking her head with a laugh before it was cut off with a kiss and she merely playfully narrowed her eyes at him. "An acquarium? My my you just get more and more interesting the older you get."
"Everyone's great in their own ways. Sometimes it's the people that seem the most bland that are the most special." Shrugging lightly and finishing what was on his plate easily enough. A blink then as things started to go down hill for them and he watched her for a moment. "You're not supposed to be perfect, I know that....you want me to take you home? I mean how do you expect to get back to mainland otherwise anyway?"

She'd forgotten all about where they were, hadn't she? Glancing around the Blue Diamond for a moment, she settled back in the booth and folded her hands in front of her. "Yes, come to think of it, I do need you to take me back. But you can take me to the school and I'll manage the rest of the way by myself. Thank you, very much." Chewing on her bottom lip. She could see the drop of his shoulders as she poured cold water all over his good time and wished responsibilities weren't calling. It really sucked sometimes. "We can go the fast route though, right?" She didn't have a whole lot of time to play.

A smirk.
"Well our oldest informed me that our home is imposing and not keen to being used to entertain even young guests, when I brought up bringing that girl to the fortress. so I might have to had some things to make it more stranger friendly I suppose."
a slight grin.
"Not to mention, it gives me and excuse to annoy a certain sea queen adn her overly large pet fish."

Why the hell was he back at square one? Maybe this was just her subtle way of turning him down completely and he should stop getting himself practically humiliated time and time again by this whole girl thing. He could always focus on his swordsmanship or something. "Sure, no problem. Come on." Waiting for her and giving a whistle for Kerick, helping her mount and then in two blinks they were back at school and he was helping her down again. "Well, here you are. Safe and sound just like I promised."
"Yes it's imposing. You also did that. You wanted it to be imposing...well from the outside. You brightened up the inside a lot but people have to want to come into such a place to see all of that. And he probably just doesn't want to bring her back here because he's insecure about this whole girl thing. He's a teenage boy, that's how it is. If you want to play diplomat, invite her and her family over all official and formal like." Before another smile and roll of her eyes. "I hope Fluffy eats you." Turning a look then to Dhairiss. "Daddy is silly isn't he? All kinds of crazy ideas and ways to cause trouble."

"thier not silly ideas. I just try to make the interior comfortable since due to the nature of the home, it's exterior is supposed to be forbidding and defensable. it's a fortress, not a palace."
crossing his arm in a semi-huffy pout.
"I could invite them. if I knew anything about where they lived, or the like. for that, I'd need this girl to tell me. and that means meeting her in a more comfortable enviroment. unless you want me to go to the school and demand her records or something like that and publically embarass both of them."
a thought on that for a moment.
"that is tempting."

She wasn't too pleased about getting back on that horse but did it anyway, for the sake of time. She'd barely settled in that saddle when she was hurtled through space and dropped back down at the school. She'd forgotten how fast translocation really did work. Two feet firmly on the ground, she studied the ground searching for an explanation that wouldn't seem contrived. There was none she could give so she simply brushed her lips over his cheek. "Ask me to do this again soon. Please." The signal went off again and she turned and hurried away.

“Daddy tries.” Giving his two cents in actual favor of his father. Daddy seemed to be changing for the better from his recent bad mood…but what if that bad mood came back and he started yelling again? He was used to that, daddy had those on occasion but mommy could always make it better. She didn’t make it better last time, she had made it worse.
“That’s right, he does.” Giving him a chuckle and a kiss before a look to Malik once more as he was being huffy. “Oh come now, you know I enjoy your ideas. I usually find them flattering or amusing. And I usually benefit.” A giggle. “A fortress topped with a chapel, that’s rather amusing.” Grinning again at him. “I was half expecting you to do the record thing first. After all, it’s not like you have to do it in public.” Shaking her head and looking to Dhairiss. “Maybe you’ll be lucky and he’ll spend all that embarrassment on your brother.”
He supposed that was a good thing? Well now he was just plain confused again. She was ditching him rather openly yet told him to ask her again. What was that? Were there redos in this girl thing? Crap girls were ever confusing. Shaking his head and a look to the stables said that Destyny was already gone, so that meant Zykariel had headed home…might as well to. A pet to his horse. “Come on Kerick, let’s head home.”

"plenty of embarassment when he gets that age. and the record thing I coudl do in private, but it'd be easier to go to the school during it's scheduled times since we don't know a last name or anything. at least then I could point her out."
a smirk.
"two for one, embarass my oldest and his potential female companion. good deal for me."

"Ask Zykariel. That boy knows more information than he ever needs to know and they should be getting home soon. Since the Inthara's are still here, this is where Kariel is going to show up too." Shaking her head. "Well if you're insistant on embarassing them, don't come crying to me when your son is upset with you and won't speak to you or is as well as generally mean. He still has tantrums...just less kicking and screaming."

No, he wasn't at the school but waiting for Malikhai at home and ready to jump him the moment he came in the door. He considered himself Malikhai's wingman and that meant counseling him through his first attempt at impressing and wooing females. The funny thing was, he had to learn it all himself because his father hadn't known a damn thing. "So? How'd it go?" Leaning casually in a not so normal position. His feet were up on the banister and he was leaning against the opposite wall.
Lyssie was playing quietly in the nursery, her brother and sister in reverie in the beds there. Kariel was nowhere to be seen and nobody was paying any attention to her whatsoever. She was still mad at her mother for not letting her see her father or anything else and threw a doll at the wall. It reverberated with a crash and woke Kel up who immediately began to fuss. She walked over to the crib and tried to soothe him then managed to finagle the heavy bars and pull the baby out. "Let's go see Mama and Daddy."
Carrying the heavy almost-toddler, she walked to her parents' door and kicked the wood. "Help!"

"That takes the fun out of it."
A slight grin and looking at his youngest.
"And we all enjoy having a bit of fun every now and again."

"Fine then, do it the hard way that going to upset the son. But as I said, dont' come crying to me about it." SHrugging lightly and brushing a hand through her youngests hair, knowing that she shouldn't be coddling him, but she was anyway.
He wasn't nearly as enthusiastic as his friend. "You know what...I have no idea. She's nothing but a bunch of mixed signals and I think my head is starting to spin. Apparently it's a yes and no kinda game but she's not trying to play hard to get I know that much." Shaking his head with a frown and a sigh.
He looked up over the still form of his wife at the banging on the door and shook his head at the sound of little voices, one fussy and one needy. Getting up and pulling some pants on, he brushed his loose hair back over his shoulder and opened the door to the sight of the two. "What's the matter?" Crouchign down to take the baby and try and soothe him.

He blinked and hopped down, shaking his head. "You have a lot to learn, Khai. Women always send mixed signals. They want you to chase them but not push them at the same time. They like to leave you guessing so they can figure out just how badly you want to be with them. It's very confusing but usually if you understand their language, you can decipher the real meanings behind what they said. Now, did she seem interested in you during the date?"
It was hard juggling a squirming little elf and she was having considerable trouble doing so. Letting her father take her brother, she couldn't help herself. She threw herself at his legs and hugged him tightly. "You're okays! I didn't know 'cause Mama didn't let me see you or her or Kariel or any of the others and I didn't know if you were dead or alive!" Thus, lowering her voice and stepping back and studying her toes. "I woke him up on accident, Daddy. I'm sorry."
He rubbed at his eyes and curled his toes, burying his face in his father's shoulder and sniffling. Yes, he was still a tired little elf. Hiccuping softly, he grabbed a chunk of his father's hair and closed his eyes, settling back into reverie.
