*clenches her teeth, her whole body going tense with the effort, and reaches her hand out again*
*this time, however, something red starts to flicker into existence on the table next to her, materializing into a shiny apple as she closes her fingers around it*
*the feel of something solid in her hand causes her to snap her eyes open in surprise, and she jumps to her feet, staring at it in wonder* I did it! I- Ohhnnhh *wobbles, and sits down again abruptly, her color draining* Oh my . . . *puts her free hand to her stomach, looking a little green around the gills*

*Tavin quickly reaches out to hold Maggie steady*
Careful, there..... You have to be careful. Pulling something out of its time is not a simple feat. If you try something that's above your ability... there is a good possibility that you could die. Although I don't think you really have to worry about that.
*Tavin picks up the apple and smiles*
Now tell me, Miss Dowling..... Is this beautiful red apple REALLY that good?
*Tavin puts his hands on Maggie's shoulders, and a light blue tint shows in his hands, as he channels energy slowly back into her*

:::She sees Tavin comforting Maggie...he appears to suggest that everything is alright:::

She had been holding her breath the past couple of minutes and gasped loudly when Maggie fell over. Looking worriedly at Cora, she asked, "Is she alright?"

*breathes in and out slowly, the color coming back to her cheeks as Tavin restores her strength*
*offers a smile up at Cora, still a little dizzy, but much better* I'm alright.
*turns the apple over in her hands, murmuring* A like Apple . . . *lifts it to her mouth and takes a cautious bite, chews, swallows, then laughs, grinning at Tavin* It is a good apple . . !
*shakes her head in amazement*

Maggie will be fine. She just wasn't quite ready for the feeling of expending some of her energy in bringing this apple to The Brink. Admittedly, it does take quite a bit of getting used to. With practice, she'll be able to do it with no problems.

Maggie used her energy to bring an object into the Brink...from another place? How is that possbile?? :::She didn't really expect an answer...this was after all the brink...and no one there seemed fond of answering questions like that anyway:::

There are many things that are possible in The Brink. Most of them would seem.... impossible, really. But those who have talent are predisposed to certain... abilities.

:::Cora looks down at Maggie, sitting in the chair still, a look of naive puzzlement on her face:::
I...well, surely! :::Cora takes the apple, and sniffs it as she draws it nearer to her face. The smell was crisp, and sweet, much like the wines she had tasted, but with a much more mild manner about it.:::
:::She put her lips too it, and realized that the consistancy was quite solid, then she tried putting her teeth to it, feeling rather akward. It did not quite fit in her mouth so easily. She had to pause to regain her composure...embarassed that she did not know how to eat it. Eventually she was able to gauge the amount of pressure necessary to bite down. She chewed a moment, and then swallowed:::
mmm..! This is delightful! This is almost like the wine, but it is so very different at the same time...! And..and, much more solid to say the least. Thank you Maggie, for letting me try your...uhm...I do not know what it is called.

*tilts her head up to ask Tavin* I daresay I should keep te small things such as that te practice, shouldn't I? I canna imagine being able te bring anything much at all beyond that . . .

Yes, do keep to smaller, and simple things for now Maggie. Once you become more used to it, you'll be able to work on larger and more complex things.

:::She takes another bite of the apple, and enjoys. When she finishes her second bite, she looks back to Tavin, having remembered what he said:::
