Religious leaders are overzealous and think they know what's best. Get just a bit out of the box and they snap your head off. Personally I think we should be more concerned with the idiot who's trying to get God taken off our money and the plege rewritten than a tv show that shows magic. Besides the fact that 'magic' existed in teh bible it just isn't referred to that way. It's more like the divine power...
I'm kind of suprised they haven't attacked Harry Potter yet...

Actually they already did, I was reading this article a few years ago, in a small town in the midwest, the church participates in a monthly burning of things they consider against god, Harry Potter Books, CD's that aren't religous in nature. D&D the whole nine yards, they build a massive bon fire and burn all those things.....I hate people that burn books, with a vegence becuase of people like that whole cultures lost there ties to the past.

the line was in gargoyles, used as soul transferance spell. the thing was:
"For the spirit to be willing, the flesh must first grow weak...just long enough, for soul in flight, to pass from cheek to cheek."
and yes, the pope personally attacked Harry Potter for leading good children away form chrisianity into 'magic'.
Macbeth is one of my favorite characters. he's not really a hero, but not really a villan, either. and he knew magic too.
'little ball of flame and light, find the ones I seek tonight"
used to summon a will'o'wisp during the episode where aurther and him vie for Excaliber

Wow... I post to slow...
Dungeons and Dragons is no more evil than anything else, if anything, it promotes being good because evil is dumb.
Harry Potter is a 'christian' in the books, why else would he celebrate christmas?
Gargoyles... *sigh*... I made two, lets put it that way.
The problem of society is people trying to escape their own responsiblity. "DnD caused suicides!" why, character can be resurected. "HP is the devil!" All he does is try to live a normal life in an abnormal world. "Bible knows best!" A book is a book and can teach no more than one reads, and can teach no less than one thinks, and can actually gain you nothing, for in the end, words are powerless to harm you...
Then again, I found that being physically hurt was much more easily recovered from, than the 'truth' of some people.
Perhaps we should abandon this course of talk, it is bond to make some people uncomfortable especially since we all have our strong opinions.

I think I have to agree with Az, there isn't a person in here that doesn't have strong thoughts about religion, an none of us think the same thing.......

Just because you celebrate Christmas DOES NOT mean you are a christian. God I get so tired of hearing that. You can be completely nondenominational and celebrate christmas. After all it's an economic holiday anyway. Besides give a kid a choice and he'll tell you that he wants the one where he gets teh most presets. Hannukah you get what 8? Kwanzaa..well I don't actually know. Christmas yo ucan clean up buddy! Video games nad systems for all!
My mom believed for a long time that Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic cards were evil. In fact my dad confiscated mine and burned them.
