Azn Shadow Specz Same rank? as a regular jounin? In the canon a special jounin is pretty much in between Chuunin and Jounin because they specialize in a certain field (IE Medical ninja is a specialization) EDIT: Interrogator is also a specialization (In the case of Ibiki and Ino's father) Just like our military. Warrant Officers are inbetween the ranking system because they specialize in something. But since they specialize, their jutsu could even be higher-ranked then a normal jounin (Going in someone's mind). They simply lack variety. However, changing this will cause a slight problem as I personally have been ranking based on the scale set. If I believe something is a jounin level jutsu, I have been putting the corresponding rank. Also, a fight between a special jounin and jounin would be close...

Well yea i guess move it on the tree but ok now I'm not confused since you but that list. Now I can sort everything. And get the threads set up

Sannin don't actually exist. =/ They're just Jounin who don't wear their headbands because they have special privileges. Sannin are technically for Konohagakure only if you're talking Canon. Sannin are what you call the Hokage's Student's or His/Her personal squad.
ANBU is an organization which exists only in Konohagakure. It is their "Secret Services".
Special Jounin are Chuunin who might not exactly reach Jounin standards or statistics yet, but they obtain all the privileges a Regular Jounin has and are respected as a Regular Jounin because they did some great feat or something of the sort.

The leader of the village hidden in the rain at the time for the courage and for almost defeating him. San = 3, Nin= Ninja. The Sannin = The 3 Ninja. Sannin is a title.

The Sannin (伝説の三忍, Densetsu no Sannin; Literally meaning "Legendary Three Ninja") were the students of Hiruzen Sarutobi, members of his Team Hiruzen: Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade.

Well Sannin may be a title, but I am talking about Canon wise.
The "Sannin" should be named different things in each village. For instance Kirigakure's version is 7 Swordsman.
Right now we'll use Sannin, but if we all can come up with a title for each village, then it's fine with me.

Why would the Kage pick C rank Ninja for his death squad when he could use elite B, A , and sometimes Sannin rank(S-Rank) ninja?

If you read the manga it states that the ANBU are picked from Chuunin to learn deadly skills/tactics.
They are Elite-Chuunin, in essence. They are designed for killing. They may be more capable then a Jounin in some instances but I promise you, ANBU members are picked from Chuunin to be trained.
They usually stay Chuunin in rank too. Just like Sai, He's a Chuunin and he was one of the strongest root members.

Grah.. This is frustrating..
The ANBU are the Hunter-Nin. They're the Secret Services (ANBU Black OPs). They're the security of the village!
It is a multi functional job!
Oinin is just a job.. as is Anbu. They're just Jobs. Not actual Ranks.
