Giving him one of those confident smiled of her before a light chuckle. "I'm beginning to think the Brigade looks forward to your visiting. Master Tyyreal at least gets a kick out of you. And yes...Ahkallyn is quite upset with me. For a moment I thought I was going to have a war on my hands. He'd a harsh man, and he doesn't approve of much that isn't tradition, but he does love his son more than anything...even if he thinks him a little odd and too proactive."

A small smirk before the elf chuckled a little bit. "Travel buddy huh? Though thanks for going out of your way to find me Mykorian." A small sigh before he drank some of water then looked back at the kid. "Well I was on my own for a few years, even though the situations were different between you and me. Though now you're here and are going to go through training with Malik, I did the same thing and even though it took awhile I was finally able to get out of it. But trust me even though he may put you through a lot it'll be worth it in the end."

I think he knows better than to push too much. besides, if he went to war on you, you have everything in my arsenal to back you. and it's quite an arsenal developed over the years."

"I can almost picture the yelling at me because of my influence on everyone around me which cause Kieran to get shot by his betrothed because we tier'dal are so insidious and darkhearted. Of course after the yellin about me even getting into the palace in the first place without going through seventeen stacks of paperwork."
though a shrug.
"well if your feeling up to it, would you like to go see piper and the youngest, while I tend to the oldest? I have no doubts he's shaken up, at the very least."

"Ahkallyn just likes to see how much he can push before Elaria steps in I'm sure." Shaking her head with a laugh of her own before a nod to him and getting herself up, smoothing wrinkles from her tunic some. "Oh yes, you're such a horrid influence on me. But...feel free to go see your son and I'll go tend to the daughter and grandchild. After all, I haven't seen either in a while."
"Already thanked me, you don't have to say it more than once." Poking at what left of his fish with a fork, pushing it around his plate some. But a shake of his head. "It has yet to be decided if I'm goign to train here. I just came to check it out..." Being a stubborn pre-teen that he was, he was a pride-ful creature and still wasn't ready to admit certain things.

"I remember her jolting sometimes when I'd startle her when I was little. She's never been as bad as you though. Sometimes you looked right through me, wouldn't talk to me and got that look in your eye. I always hated those times." Shaking his head and shrugging. "I don't see things the way you do. You want me to be like Malikhai and I can't do that. I don't always adhere to the rules and do what I'm supposed to do in your eyes. It causes conflict."
Nodding because that did make sense to him. "You were all I had for a long time. She was there but she wasn't and you can't change the first couple of years even if she did get involved after that." But he grinned right back at his dad. "I don't sneak. Mom brings them to me along with a glass of milk and sometimes it's cake. Seriously, you ought to hang around with me one night and see if she pops up and you'll get some too."

Malik got himself up then.
"Alright, then I'll see you afterwards. and I'll get to planning that vacation. going to have to keep a list of all the people the torment and pester in so many ways."
So he went to the door, opening it for her and then taking himself to his oldest son's room while fianna moved to piper and dhairiss. giving a knock on the door, before opening it and stepping into the room.
"How are you doing so far? haven't heard a word from you in one form or another."

"Respecting my privacy by knocking but asserting yourself as my parent by coming in anyway, hm?" He gave a light chuckle followed by a short sigh. Malikhai was laying on his bed on his back, one leg bend and one arm hanging off the bed, Yinn laying on his chest and purring at the petting hes was getting as the young elf was more or less staring at the ceiling. "I'm doing alright I guess. Should I be more upset?"
"I was more sensitive then too. Sometimes I was afraid that I was messing you up myself by letting you model after me. Your brother still blames me for the way you eat now." Shaking his head lightly before a small frown. "No, I don't want you to be like Malikhai. And no one follows all the rules...otherwise your mother wouldn't belive I eat breakfast every morning." It was true...since he was up before her sometimes he just said he ate when he didn't. He still didn't have a true peace with food, was still something negative to him in a way. "I just want to make sure that you'll have something else to look forward to when Destyny can't race anymore. I haven't seen you take an interest in anything else really." Smirking lightly. "So she's doing it? You know, I should have know that...I never hear you leave your room but there's always dishes the next morning on your desk."

Well, that was kind of nice to hear but Zykariel didn't fully believe it. After all, his dad wanted him to be more in tune with his studies, focusing on the books rather than his races and that was Malikhai to a T. "I refuse to be used for my power. If everyone thinks I have none then I won't have to worry about that, now will I? And I haven't taken an interest in anything else. There's nothing in this world like racing, Dad. I don't get that rush when I'm runing or mixing potions or creating illusions or playing with the dirt or anything. If I found something else that made me feel that way, I'd jump on it faster than I did racing because I know I won't be able to race forever. It's kind of scary sometimes, you know?" He crossed his arms and mirrored his father's smirk then rolled his eyes. "You know Mom. She thinks love and comfort equal food. Night Zykariel. I love you, have a cookie."

"You think if you show power then someone is going to use you? Where did you get that idea from? I know I've thought a lot of crazy things, but never that and cetinaly never told you such a thing." Nodding... "You know...it's not that I don't get it. Runing did the same thing for me when I discovered it. A rush that nothing else can top and you only want more. When I couldn't do it it just felt like something was missing. So I kept doing it even though it could mean worse things in store for me if I got caught." It wasn't that he didn't understand his son, and now he had even more insight. "I'm not telling you to be a rune mage or anything, that's just a comparison. And there has to be something out there that gives you that rush. I jsut want you prepared. I worry about you." Blinking and tilting his head at his son. "You get 'I love you, have a cookie' and I get 'Sevilin that's your fourth plate, quit or I'll take away your cleaning supplies'. How is that fair?" Shaking his head half amused at that.

He shrugged lightly. He didn't really know what to think...after all, through that whole thing he hadn't seen his brother until they were bringing him back home. Somehow he felt....kind of disconnected to the whole incident. "We didn't do much. Kinda ended up on our own and wandering a bit...fought a few of those things." Squinting an eye in discomfort as Yinn stood up on him and stretched before hopping off the bed to roll around to apparently try to get some itch on his back on the floor. "How's he doing anyway?"

Galesen blinked a little and shrugged a little, getting through to the boy was going to be a little more difficult than he thought. Though he looked at the boy again and raised an eyebrow. "Alright then if that's the way it is I can't stop you." Pausing for a moment Galesen looked at the kid before sighing and getting out of his chair. He grabbed his dishes and headed on back to the kitchen where he began to clean them. Kid was stubborn as a rock, hopefully he would choose wisely about the two path's before him instead of just heading down one without another thought. "Well then Mykorian take your time, this is a big choice for you after all."

"He's been abused mentally and physically. he's got very little strength right now, in is scared to death of me. that thing used illusion and various other tricks to simulate that I was being highly abusive to your mother. which is hwo she kept him from trying to leave or questioning most anything."
looking at Yinn on the floor a moment.
"apparently these creatures use souls as plant food. and they extract the sol through slow death of the body."

"Right. Not like I haven't made one of those before." Watching as Galesen went about doing things and then he finished off his own food, clearing his entire plate before bringing it to the sink and washing it as well. "So do I have to like...ask permission to go outside and stuff or what? real rules or something?"
That made him frown. "He's gonna be okay though?" He didn't like the thought of such things happening to his brother. Espcially since his brother was more or less defenseless against everything...kid was only two years old which meant he was more care and play and starting his training or anything. But he stayed quiet, still watching the ceiling despite the noise his pet was making on the floor. After a few moments, he turned his eyes to meet his fathers, "So why didn't we kill that thing then?" Nope, not happy at all about this even more now. They had tried to kill his little brother and that wasn't going to sit well with him.

Galesen rolled his eyes to himself at Mykorian's response and sighed lightly, the boy just didn't get it and he better be careful with that mouth. Though he saw the half elf come up and start to clean his own dishes, at least he could do that much, though it wasn't like Galesen would clean up after the kid. "Hey if you can decide if you want to stay or not permanently then you can decide on if you want to stay inside or go out. I'm not going to be in complete control over you, you're old enough to make decisions on your own. Still you better be careful when outside, you already know what it is like to walk around here so get use to it quick. Still just come back when it starts heading to night time, best be here and get a good reverie. That and it's best to stay away whatever creatures come out that can be a pain in the a**." There are a lot of them, that and whatever defense Malik has set up. "Still some basic rules will apply, you clean up after yourself and what not. If you need to know about something just ask."
