A look to Sevilin and he gave the man a small nod, Galesen didn't know the relationships going on between family members so he was just taking guesses here. Even though he had no blood-ties he still wanted to get to the bottom of this like everyone else. A look to Fianna and he smiled lightly. "That's true, everyone always does. No one can be dumb enough just to have one plan, there is always a plan B just in case." A look to Mykorian and he raised an eyebrow. "Really? What is this place exactly?" So they only stayed in one spot? Okay so why make a move down here and bother to try and take over the kids? This was weird.

"And he'd be fine with either you or me though he clings to me because he's still little." Shaking her head and then following along as they were, thinking. "Zykariel also would keep Faate from questioning some things. If the majority of her family was with her and there was a good enough reason posed why the others weren't, she wouldn't question it. And Kelligrin annoys Zykariel. Once he's older, they'll have a better relationship." She was sure of it. "I wonder if something about the land is good for them? Perhaps they have to be near a certain type of plant or wildlife to survive. Maybe their jaunt down here would simply be an anomaly for some percieved end but they couldn't remain down here for very long." Wincing for Piper as she smacked into a tree and shaking her head. That had to hurt.
He was smelling cookies...though he didn't like the insinuations filtering to him from Malik's conversation. Kaelin had done nothing wrong but like Malikhai and he hadn't even thrown those two together. They'd managed it all on their own at the bar that night. He'd simply orchestrated events so that Kaelin and Malikhai wouldn't let their own idiocy get in the way. But chocolate chip were his favorite...and he could smell them baking and almost taste the cool milk sliding down his throat. Daddy would want one too....

"I mention it because a good strong relationship requires sacrifice sometimes. and it seems every time there's one to be made, your making it. That's not exactly fair of me to let you give up everything to suit my needs, now is it."
a slight smile at her.
"well at least your aren't bruising from smacking that tree. and do try to keep with us, I don't want to have you get too far ahead, and have something that looks like you but isn't you come back."
Broog looked at Zykariel, and judging by the look on his face, decided to intervene by clapping his huge hand on the boys back. That should get his head back in line.
"yoos not going badbrained, is yous? Not looking liek yoos want to helps, looking like yoos wants to eats."
Before shifting attention to Malikhai, clapping him on teh back to, but not in the snap out of it manner.
"and why yoos not tell Broog yoos gots woomens? Broog make lots of shinies dat woomens likes. get yoos in guds wit dem."

"That's the way of the life I chose to have. But if you want to even the scores, I'm sure you'll think of something in due time when it's called for." Clearly she was not engaging him as steadily as he was her, but who could blame her...and she was still keeping herself all bottled up too. "Didn't hit hard, I'm fine." Shaking her head lightly to that but then giving him a nod. "I'd just like to keep up the forward motion if we can...I can't stand this whole thing..."
He could only hope that was the way his sons were going to go. After all, he couldn't fathom not having a close relationship with a brother. Just didn't work in his mind, but he grew up different...and well, he supposed loving brothers so much you killed them was a good thing to not have. "Well...the longer we speculate the colder the trail goes." Nodding as yellow glow seemed to dim some. "Let's keep following while we have trails up." After all, him and Fianna only had but so much energy to use for tracking and still be useful or other things.
He shrugged. "No place in particular, I couldn't tell you the direction from down here...I'm all discombobulated with direction for a few hours while I'm down here. But it's kind of like in a valley like area."
He blinked and shook his head with somewhat of an embarassed look as Broog jumped right on the ball and starting to want to help even. "Um well...she's not really my woman. She's kinda just my friend." Though yes now that it was mentioned...well all women liked jewelry didn't they? From what he gathered the answer was a yes. "Still navigating girls..."

He gave a slight frown.
"It does no good to constantly move forward if we haven't gotten a good solid foundation from here."
But he did see the point, and he did turn her head to look up at him.
"If you don't stop, I'm going to send you home. being a knot of anxiety, guilt, self-doubt and whatever else you've got knotting your stomach is not going to help. And I'm not speaking as a military man, but as your husband. You're going to give yourself a nervous breakdown at this rate, or fall into a serious depression. Neither of which are good for anyone here, especially your children, fianna and myself."

"Save these things may not give a solid foundations. The one error in military tactics sometimes they rely too much on solid ground where there is none to be found. But looking to his eyes with her own as he purposefully turned her head to make her look at him. He was going to send her home like a child? Now he should know better than to threaten that...she'd just get back out. But a sigh and slight frown that wasn't because she was upset with him, but mor of overall frustrated. "It's hard."

"I know that. but there's something that you're overlooking. if you get near Dhairiss with that bottled in you, he's going to react. and if he does, they'll know."
A sigh.
"It's not easy for me either. and I know about the problems with that idea. and we're moving. I just don't want to be checking something and have someone that's not you come back around a corner, is all. I am allowed to worry about things as well."
A kiss on her forehead.
"We're here to help. if you need someone to talk to, someone to share with and make it easier, I'm sure Zahara or Fianna or I can help with that. I just don't want you to become sick, or to become a huge becon because they have our youngest who can't filter through things like Malikhai or I can."

From a strategical she knew that Dhairiss reacting would be a bad thing seeing as they would loose the element of surprise...if they even had it right now. Drawing in a breath, she held it for a moment before letting it out as she pushed her bang away from her face and tightened her bandana just to do something more or less. Maybe the slight pain in her ears was good for something like refocusing. "I don't want to talk about it, I just want to solve it." Leaning her forehead against his chest a moment and taking another breath, seeking to reroute her...well everything. Not exactly easy to do with this scent clouding her up either. "I understand...but we can't stay still too long either. This scent makes me think things better not brought up." Like running through grassy fields and such.

And Zykariel met the ground, which began flying up quite fast and slammed the reality back into him. He'd been just about to take that first sacred bite of cookie, too. And his father had a cookie and a glass of milk and his mother was in the same house and they were giving each other those covert looks that meant 'grown up time' was about to happen very shortly. Rolling to avoid Destyny's hooves, though she was trained to stop immediately, he got back up and dusted himself off. "What'd you do that for?" Reclaiming his seat, disgruntled now, he clicked his tongue to his irritated mount and rolled his shoulders. "I'm fine."
She glanced back as her son was brought down and shook her head. Scent was affecting him. If she had a better handle on what it was and how to combat it, she'd have made a potion to keep them from having to worry about it. As such, she cantered ahead to come up beside Sevilin, worry and heartache wearing her down. "You're not smelling amber, are you?"

He was...okay honestly he was staring off in space at this time, getting lost in his own little world as faint scent was getting through to him. That familair scent...why couldn't he place why it was that particular thing to him? Thusly Zahara went a good minute not being answered before he seemed to snap back to it as he happened to turn his head her direction with a rather calm look across his features. "Hmm?" Seemingly catching himself and shaking his head, blinking a few time...eyes were unfocused. Processing, "A bit." And of course with the understatements.

"Seems to be doing that with everyone."
glancing at the rest of them.
"Or at least those that can smell it."
before waving his hand at them.
"Lets keep moving. stay together."
Broog looked at Zykariel, and snorted.
"Broog do hiz job. yoos lookin funny and yoos not foocused. So Broog brings yoos bak to da wurld."

He snorted but held the reins a little tighter and tried really hard not to glare at Broog. He was fine, dammit. And so what if he smelled cookies? They reminded him of his childhood and that wasn't all bad. "She'd be more than your friend if you'd move on the opportunities presented to you, Khai."
Okay, that worried her. Reaching over, she rested one hand over his on the reins and shook her head. "Try not to, okay? Last time you smelled it, our kids were stolen. And you're getting that fuzzy look you do when you're pulling away from me. Don't."

Galesen looked at the others after settling in on his horse. So they had the evidence that they needed, tracks and magic together which was a plus. So slowly he turned Barhnel toward the way which the tracks took off. "Alright then let's keep on moving. It be good if Sevilin can keep on checking to see any magic residue left over because we don't know exactly where the tracks will stop. It's been three days so by now the physical trail can run cold at any given moment." Well if the drow could do that it would tip the odds in their favor, after all the creatures down here don't stop to leave footprints alone. Who knows what crossed the path they are going to take in the past three days? "Okay everyone ready?" A look back to the others for a second. "Good let's go." A snap of his reins and Barhnel took off at a moderate pace, need to keep eyes open for anything out of place.

Several hallucinations and urgings of other to keep on track later, then entered into what one could call an underdark valley where th eland dropped off into a bowl with a mounded up middle and various spires of rock with cavern like entrances, the cliff walls leading down steep and jagged. In the cavernous ceiling several beams of light streamed down, creating almost a forest composed of shafts of light. Wasn't quite clear whether it was sun or moon light, but definitely surface light. "Anyone know about this place?" Rubbing a hand over her face as if to help clear her head some, leaning forward against Serion's neck whom only nickered at her in his own concern. Oh her head...
A motion of her hand and any runes they were presently using faded, at least her runes, as they approached the edge of the cliffs. Which Anica as well as the other horses seemed to be reluctant to go too near. "I'm guessing those connect through to the surface..." Looking the place over as best she could, which wasn't too good seeing as she couldn't see as well as the rest of them.
He'd give a more vital opinion but he was trying to keep focused. "So this is where it's most concentreated? Or at least...this is where that signature seemes the strongest." Squinting lightly to the light and such that was filtering down through the holes above. "Looks like the underlying rock layers collapsed."
The image of Zykariel covertly watched from where he was hidden among it all. Hm...that wasn't supposed to happen...and who was this that they had brought? No matter....they'd still have to get past all the traps that were scattered throughout of various sorts. Mostly mental things...after all, they were dealing with elves here. Better report in.
She was sitting in her little throne, a rather pale Dhairiss in her lap whom was more or less slumped back with eyes closed. He'd give a seemingly uncomfortable noise every now and then with a whimper and reach out for the guise of his mother. A smile at him. "It's alright...not much longer little one." Turning a look up to the teenager that walked in.
And upon her order, the one whom had taken Sevilin as his vessel image of choice was sent out to the other children...who were more or less in the same state as Dhairiss, who save for Faate was more healthy looking...but more stoic and complying. Picking up Kelligrin, he motioned to the girl. "Faatallon, come with me." Thusly heading off with the girl in tow.

The real Zykariel was chomping at the bit to do something. He was sick and tired of sitting on his horse and watching while things went to hell in a handbasket somewhere else. There was a key to this whole thing-his brother and sister's disappearance notwithstanding- and he wanted it cool and firm in his hand, the door unlocked and blades slicing whatever was responsible. That jump in adrenaline was coming from his mother, he knew that as well. She sensed something and through her sensing, so did he. It was deeper than cookies but with a scent that he'd never really encountered before. Something...stale? No, but dark and flowing with energy. He couldn't combat it on his own...but with his father. "Toss something up at it."
She was quiet, glancing around and taking everything in. Caves were nothing new in the Underdark but caves that led to the surface? Of course they'd have to exist...the surface had at one time. But what were they before the surface had been brought back? She watched the light dance and sparkle as it often did when refracting off shiny rocks and openings and shook her head. Were they hitting the surface to find these things? And what was that prickly feeling of something nearby...moving about. She turned Faete and urged him forward to one of the rocky outcroppings. Something had moved. Something was there and she was damned if she wasn't going to figure out what it was.
She questioned nothing, simply let her father pick up her brother and carry him off. Both of their eyes, usually vibrant and full of emotion, were dull and lifeless. Kelligrin's skin was the color of darkened ashes but Faate didn't even think to comment on it. She merely gave a nod, stood and followed after the older drow, watching her brother rest his head on the man's shoulder, rubbing at his eyes and looking plaintively back at her.
