"Floating eyeballs..." A small chuckle from Galesen when he heard that and shook his head lightly. He allowed Piper and Malik to go off and talk among themselves as husband and wife, all the while he kept to himself and sipped back on the drink he had in front of him. Though a look back and forth between the two as the drow wondered out loud if he could look after their son if Keely can't. "Would you really want me to look after your son? I mean I don't mind kids but this is your son. Who knows what his perfect memory might nab while around me." He was kidding of course as known by the tone in his voice but still, Malik out of all people though he could do it? Maybe what he was drinking was affecting his thinking.

"Dad are supposed to be like that I think. Or maybe it's just an underdark dad mentality thing. You know, gotta act a certain way when you're older so people know where you stand. But remember when they would play pirates and stuff with us when we were little? I think they're just weird because you know, they don't know how to play with us anymore...not that we play. We hang out. They want to teach us things. Not too bad."
He shook his head, taking the list and folding it with one hand before pocketing it as he let his youngest indeed give his mother goodbye kisses. "See, I always know that you have something that needs to be picked up. This kitchen is never stocked." Pressing a kiss to his wife's cheek. "Link me if you need me. Come on Kel, let's go shopping." Thusly leaving with his son in hand.
"Oh good...because I think I would start getting creeped out after a while too. But sparkles and what not are good...adn you know I like fireflies." Giving a little nostalgic smile to surface things. A little sigh and she pressed a kiss to her son's cheek whom only nuzzled her back. Clingy at the moment. Piper blinked and looked to Galesen as well. "Galesen? I suppose. Are you even staying that long this time Galesen?" Or more importantly could he handle the child. Dhairiss sharply contrasted Malikhai at this age. But blinking then at Galesen. "Should you be poking dragons with swords, Galesen?"

"I wore my dad's boots and you had that cape that we got into trouble for using, remember?" Shaking his head. "I remember that time your dad actually went all out with the illusions, too. That was by far my favorite time we ever played." Nostalgia was grand and he embraced it with a crooked grin and a hand through his loose hair. "Now it's all about teaching us to be men and making sure we're fit for battle." Rolling his eyes. "I don't want to do battle, I just want to live my life with no sense of time, which I should be able to do because I'm an elf."
"Shopping!" Kelligrin fisted his hand on his father's tunic and babbled happily about 'going' and 'shopping' and 'mommy' and 'spices'. Though as they made their way, he suddenly stopped talking completely adn stared at his father. "No snap-bam!...right?" His little body shaking with imagined shivers. Referring to translocation, of course.
"Not fully anyway. I always need something extra or something more. If you boys wouldn't eat so much maybe we'd be stocked longer than five seconds." Following the pair out and waving to them as they made their way. Her silly boys.

"Then you might need to make sure that things don't happen that would scar is forever retaining memory, wouldn't you."
before patting his wife on the shoulders.
"since things are relatively alright, I'll go deal with Ramoth, and I'll handle the panic attack our oldest is bound to have once he realizes he's going to a public school for the moment, and may actually have to see that Kaelin girl on more social terms soon."

"Yeah, that was the greatest. He had fun with us a lot with all those illusions. Made the games more fun." Shrugging lightly with a shake of his head. "Well, I don't think they want us to go looking for battle, just to be ready for it. Besides, I think I'd like to be battle ready just in case anything happened to my dad, I'd be able to take care of mom." Wrinkling his nose lightly. "Though that didn't do me too well at tournament huh? Well I suppose it did to a point. I don't think we have to worry about battle though."
"No snap-bam, I promise." Giving a wave off to Zahara as he made his way out with his son. After all, it was good to get out every now and then...and the boy could walk around once they got to market. Which is what he did, holding onto the boy's hand for the first part before more or less putting a runic leash on him so he could only walk but three two feet away at the most. Still gave him some room to move but kept him close enough to be safe. Though he paused briefly as a certain scent crossed his senses...nostalgic and comforting...almost made him feel goofy.
"Alright, go make your son squirm, just not too much." Shaking her head and turning her attention over to Galesen. "I think that's a yes, Galesen. If you want to of course. Wouldn't want to weigh you down with little elves and what not." Turning a look to her son who had promptly latched to her collar and took to jostling it a little to make the metal chime against itself.

"It's coming sooner or later, though. Already started with your family and tournament. I asked my dad if anything in his past could come back to haunt him and he said no. I still don't know if I'm fully satisfied with that answer." Khaiver lived. It didnt' matter that his father was more or less dead to all those on other planes; Khaiver had proven once that he wasn't of the normal variety when it came to drow. And his parents hadn't been able to beat him...which was a terrifying thought to a small child and an uneasy one to a teenager who still thought he was invincible.
"You did fine at tournament, Malikhai. It wasn't your fault that you were up against something you never should have been. If that b*****d hadn't been out for real blood, you could have held out longer and possibly even won."
Kelligrin was a rather curious child though he was too shy to actually talk to anyone. He did wander, getting used to his new ability, falling a few times but someone was always there to pick him up and pat his head. He glanced back at his father for a moment and tilted his head. That scent was new...and different. Let's go explore! Thus two more steps before his leash yanked and he plopped on his bottom. Trying again, he just couldn't get past that one little spot. His little mind added it up pretty quickly and he toddled back over to Daddy. If he couldn't move until Daddy did, it was time to make Daddy move. Reaching up he pulled on his hand.

Malik gave his wife a kiss and his son a pat on the head before heading out to the stables to an extremely irrate Ramoth, who snorted at him and glared.
"She's doing the best she can. we all are. but these thieves are like roaches. you stomp on six, and there's fifteen hiding under the floor. Now lets get your saddled up, we're going out. might help your mood."
After a fifteen minute fight and battle of wills, Ramoth got saddled and mounted up, and getting Kerick out of his pen, then off to see the boys, coming in on the tail end of the conversation.
"Rainmare Wyndrider was far out of Malikhai's league, Zykariel. at least for now. Malikhai's skill are still developing. his are long since mastered. But, both you boys come with me, we're going to have a talk."
gesturing to Kerick for Malikhai.
"You may want to call Destyny. unless you think you can keep up on foot."

"I 'spose we can never really be satisfied with that kind of answer because no one is really every sure. But that's just something we have to learn to live with and overcome if it pops up." Frowning at his words, "I think I'm hanging around the adults too much." Kicking at some nearby rocks just because and then a shrug. "Won? Maybe. There's always next year and maybe I'll put on some height by then." Turning his attention over to his father as he came up.
Malikhai got himself up off hte ground and brushed the dirt from his pants before helping his friend up. "A talk huh? Is this one of those talks that's going to make us worry?" Petting at Kerick before mounting up with a pet to the creature's mane.
He snapped out of it and shook his head as if to clear it, giving a snort as well to rid the smell from his nostrals. What the? But that was Andalian...and he was feeling no trace of Andal anything....just the smell. If someone from there was here or something, he would know. But a look down to what had pulled him from his little trance and he blinked at his son. Another look around and a sniff at the air...but it was gone? Maybe his crazy was acting up. "Well...we're done I think...time to go home?" Now that the paranoia had kicked up...

Zykariel chuckled, "Sounding like them and all. You are hanging around them too much." He glanced up as Malik popped up and shrugged. "Everyone has off days. It just might have been his." Taking the offered hand, he got to his feet and rolled his eyes. He hated talks. They usually entailed a lot of 'you can't' and 'don't do.' Putting his fingers up to his mouth, he let out a shrill whistle and then hopped on Destyny as she came by, pulling her to a stop a few yards away from the other two. "Let's do this then."
Kelligrin was still tugging on his father's hand trying to pull him but when that didn't work, he got behind him and put his hands up to the backs of his legs and pushed really really hard. "No. Go see!"

Malik let Ramoth lead the little group, letting her vent her frustration by stomping on underdark vermin or being generally hateful to all living things that were's riding her herd or horse formed.
"your worries, Zykariel..are unfounded. Khavier may be dangerous, he maybe something that your father or mother can't easily handle. But, he's a chaindog. he wouldn't do a thing without his mistress' permission. not to mention coming here after your father would mean he didn't do the job in the first place, thus risking his laudable position."
a slight smirk.
"But that is not the subject at hand. the subject at hand that requires both of you is that as of ten minutes ago, Malikhai's paperwork was on it's way to the school you attend for admission. probably to the same class setup. thus, I expect you to help Malikhai adjust as best you can. and neither of you are to interfer with the Droag."

They followed behind his father, both boys reaching across the space between their horses and punching playfully at each other of throwing rocks at one another that they swiped up from outcroppings. Boys would be boys after all. Stopping that though as his father took first to emparting reassureance and then news. He swallowed both nervously and in excitment. "Really? Well when do I start?" He supposed tomorrow when Zykariel went...if Zykariel even went. But then a frown. "Dad...the Droag? Why are they gonna be there?"
"Go see what Kel?" What had the child seen that he wasnted to go trouncing off after now? Well...he supposed he could push the paranoia now some and let the boy have his way. "Okay...just for a little ways." Thusly walking forward, letting the tod toddle back in front and thus lead of a little bit. Meanwhile he kept trying to figure out what just happened. It was just there and then it was gone again. His attention was diverted to the child though as sudden motion nabbed it, and he grabbed Kelligrin just as a cart rolled back, way too close for comfort. "Alright Kel, that's enough. Mommy needs to finish dinner."

Zykariel didn't know how to feel knowing that Uncle Malik was trying to soothe his fears by mentioning a conversation that wasn't for adult ears in the first place. But he merely nodded and ceased play as other more exciting avenues of conversation were taking place. "I told you." Punching Malikhai once more just because. Victory was sweet. "I already told him that. He'll fit right in and if he doesn't, I'll convince them he should." Probably with fists but no one needed to know that. "Why do we always gotta be watched..."
"Pretty!" Thus happily toddling off and searching for the flash he'd seen a little while ago. She'd just been there and he'd seen her. Frowning for a moment, he glanced around and took another step forward then blinked and shook his head as he was grabbed and told they were going. "But...pretty..." Mommy liked pretty so wouldn't she want him to see it too? Twisting in his father's arms, he kept glancing over in another direction and started to put up a fuss. "P-pretty..." Grabby hands.

"You've been watched since you left the indoors. until we settle with whatever was able to get to broog and get our weapons into the wrong hands, I am not going to risk exposing you without some form of protection. He's well trained, an expert assassin. so he can blend into shadow and hide as easily as you breathe. he's watching right now."
Stopping Ramoth a moment and letting the boys catch up.
"we expect you both to watch out for each other. and that includes the girls when you can. but I want to alsmot make sure that you boys understand something else. you power, and abilities, make you special. you both have had training and experience many of your classmates have not. that is to be used wisely."
"I don't want you lording your status or your abilities. I don't want you to become bullies if they laugh, or if they poke fun..or taunt. Fear is the first reaction of lessers to thier superiors. but that doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to prove it."
a slight smirk.
"Now that I have officially covered myself from your mother. someone starts trouble, someone pushes you, someone takes a swing...someone tries things unbecoming with your female companions...make them remember the family name, and make sure that the thought to try it again never crosses thier minds for fear of the repercussions."

He rubbed his arm slightly at the last punch. "Yeah yeah, so you were right." Rolling his eyes in play but then a sigh, he wans't too happy that they were being watched either...that would be a social joke of babysitting if he ever knew anything. "We can look out for the girls and each other...just, if we have to be watched. Make positive no one knows." A grin though as his father apparently was covering his own a**. "Free pass for defense of self, family, and those important on principle...got it. I like that one." Turning a look to his friend. "I think Zykariel already owns half the school, I'm sure if need be I can own the other half."
"Now now, no tears. Whatever it was I'm sure you'll see it again. We'll be back." Thusly a check to make sure that they had everything before it was a translocation home because he didn't want to fuss with the child. Of course the resulting upsetness from that was easily soothed and he set the child down once they were in the door, handing him a light bag. "Go take that to mommy now, show her what a helpful boy you are." Then a blink and a glance to a rip in the sleeve of his tunic...and the thin line and staining of blood there. Now when did that happen? Shrugging it off and following his son.

"Not hard at all," he agreed smoothly his jaw tightening. "I take care of my own." And by own that included D'vinn's. He held Destyny easily as she yearned to move ahead and race Nightmare, shaking his head and speaking to her softly in drow. She was antsy, what with the horses being taken and whatnot. Hadn't fully been out to run in a while, today being an exception because mom had pointedly told him she needed exercise. "He'll be just fine. Slip right in and create his own circle."
Not a happy child since he was being taken away from pretty things and then the snap-bam that Daddy had promised wasn't going to happen. All of that was forgotten in light of pleasing momy and he took the bag carefully with both hands and toddled his way into the kitchen, holding it up. "Mommy."
She turned and glanced down at her youngest, grinning. It was still disconcerting to see him standing on his own two feet with no help. And just like any other baby, he'd gained quite a bit of confidence since those first shaky steps. "Look at you, Kel. Can I have that? Thank you very much." Scooping the child up and swinging him in her arms in a pseudo-dance, much to his squealing delight, her eyes raised to the doorway. Pressing a kiss to the baby's cheek, she quirked an eyebrow. "Where's Daddy?" A point and she grinned as her tall, dark, and sinfully handsome husband strolled through laden with more bags. "Just in time for dinner, Raven." Thus washing the little one's hands and plopping him in his highchair. "Call the girls."
