Another odd blink. "Yes sugar. That's what candy is." Somehow he though that she had a different definition to candy. Scary. But a look to his brother. "I think he's still upset from mom and dad...they were throwing off some pretty bad stuff and he's just not old enough to buffer it." Giving a sigh, "It's okay Dhairiss..." looking to Kaelin, "Sorry he's being cling to you but he can't really cling to me too much."
He shook his head at his brother and merely continued to cling to Kaelin, before looking up to her and setting down his now empty cup, then giving the pick me up gesture.
"I don't think so. But apparently it's still wrong. Besides, they're probably right. I'm not really as sweet as I look and stuff. And some people say that half and half elves have a tendency to do crazy things. I wouldn't want to hurt anybody if that happened."
"You did. But you're still spoiled." Watching his wife go off he grabbed a rag from earlier and threw it on the blood spot nearby to at least hide it form his vision for a little bit of time. "I think Malikhai is going to be just fine, don't you worry. Even if this problem isn't over, I don't think Malik will let him take anymore that is rightfully Malik's. Though that is admirable to worry about your friend as such."
"It's not the look of it all A'mael, it's the feel. Hopefully they won't want to avoid me either. Negative pull on bonds that cause pain and what not." Helping him get comfortable and what not with an hint of 'you know I'll tie you down in the not fun way' gesture to it all. "If anything I'm getting paler but the paler I get the more drow like I seem to head." Shaking her head lightly. "It's funny actually, I remember a time when I did want my skin dark as could be. Fit in by apperance rather than attitude. Remember that?" Heading to the closet in the room and pulling out some more pillows.

She didn't believe him, that's what her parents had always told her the others would tell her too. It wasn't sugar at all, but she'd just take it from the little boy if she saw him with it. No need to end his life in such a painful way. She shrank back as the child lifted his arms and then frowned, studying him. Why would the child hit her? He wouldn't, thus he wanted something else. Debating for a moment, she recognized the gesture she'd used as a child herself. Reaching down, she lifted the little boy and settled him in her lap. "It hurts, doesn't it? I know, I used to hate it too. That's why I found my closet."
Lharika frowned and shook her head, "Don't you believe that, Mykorian. "I'm a half and half elf, too and so is my sister." She giggled, "Actually I'm kind of two quarters and a two quarters, really. I've never hurt anyone in my life except my Daddy Kieran and that was because of things that happened to me. And my real grandfather but he came to take me away since Daddy Kieran wasn't really family. Do your parents hurt you?"
"He's not really a friend, Dad. More like a brother. We've known each other for so long, I don't even distinguish anymore. Skin color and last names really don't mean anything. I mean I know I have Kel and whatnot but he's so little there's not much of a bond there yet. And besides, Malikhai has Dhairiss but he's still closer to me in certain respects." Shrugging off the praise because in reality, it embarrassed him.

"Yes, I remember. I also remember you wanted to be thought of as a human boy. though it didn't quite work out that way with all teh elves around. though you did a good job on our tour of Norrath."
a slight frown.
"they shouldn't want to avoid me, even if I'm injured. I would think that they would be somewhat eager to see me."

Okay it was just a little weird now wasn't it? But he merely watched her as she was being a little off kilter. Girls,confusing...he was just going to have to talk to Zykarie about this all later wasn't he? Much so. "Only a little, but after you learn to buffer it like mom taught me. Dhairiss is still to little to know how. So he's probably not going to be happy." Watching as his little borther cuddled in her lap on her. Was this a good or bad thing?
He tilted his head at her words. Wait the man she was talking about wasn't her father? That explained why his name was in on the title of a parent. "You have drow in you?" After all in his world there were only two types of half and half, human or drow. "You hurt him?" That was another odd concept. "No, they didn't hurt me. They never did."
"Fair enough, more like family than friends. And if you spent more time at home and with your brother then you would have more to do with him. Maybe he'd actually want to walk. But you two just like to spend time together because you like to get into trouble and push buttons. You two do a grand job of that."
"It worked around humans, they were fooled easily enough...then again they always were easy to fool." Shrugging and throwing an extra pillow on the bed. "One is eager to see you, the other is off kilter even to me and he lived inside me for a year. If anyone should be upset I should be. Don't worry about it A'mael, things just have to settle back into normal flow and feeling."

"Buffer it? You can do that?" Hmm, that was new to her. Maybe she'd have Malikhai teach her such a thing. "Little elves are the most susceptible to a lot of things," she said softly, wrapping her arms around the tiny boy in her lap and holding him closer to her. "They're the ones that suffer the most and have the most dumped on them."
"Not drow, though we call them obsidians, but no. Biologically, I'm half moon and half arch, but because Kieran and Fianna adopted me, I'm now half moon, quarter wood and quarter arch. My mother was moon and my father was arch." Not even realizing that surface elves had no such distinctions on this plane, she assumed he understood. "Yes, I did. He used to try to comfort me when I was really little and I didn't like it very much. I kept thinking that I was being disloyal to my father's memory if I let him, so I used to hit him and kick him. He was always patient though. He never punished me for it as long as it was under those reasons. If I was just angry with him and I lashed out, then I got into trouble." She was rather pleased to know that they hadn't hurt him at all, though. Too many drow were guilty of that.
"He's not going to walk until he's no longer scared of falling and meeting the ground. And that tumble that he took earlier came across bonds loud and clear. If you watch him, he has to be perfectly balanced before he'll even attempt to take a step and little elves sway too much. He'll get it though. I'll help if that will make you happier but he doesn't do anything. Just eats and cries and poops and cries and reveries and cries. You can't even really play with him because he's too slow. Or he throws his toys at you and cries."

"Which one's off kilter?"
though a smirk.
"Oh I'm sure you are. and I'm sure I'll get the brunt of that once I'm all better and in a condition to get smacked or pushed or yelled at or something thrown at me. And I'm not worried. just concerned."

"Yeah. Shutting down a bond hurts, but buffering just doens't. Just makes things a tad uncomfortable but it's a nice trick to have when things get stressful." Well it seemed she didn't mind Dhairiss using her for comfort. "If they're in bad circumstances, then yes. But he'll be okay, he probably just has a little headache."
Okay he had no idea what she was talking about there, but decided to just go with it. Apparently something had happened to her family too. "I suppose that makes sense. No one wants to besmirch their parents memory." Kicking his legs lightly before turning to her. "What happened to your parents? You dont' have to tell me if you don't want,I was just curious."
"Yes, I know. But he doesn't believe that he'd be just fine." Shaking his head. "And yet he fusses when he gets left behind because he can't walk. I thought he'd want to walk soon as he could so he could keep up with Dhairiss." Rolling his eyes then at his son, "You used to do the same thing too, but you didn't have anyone to play with. And if you would pay attention you'd note that he has a good arm on him...you could at least play catch with him. He's quite good at it."
"Dhairiss." He must really be all messed up if he couldn't even tell his sons apart in his head anymore. "Yes and yet you still lay there smirking like you just went and smashed some butterflies, not fought a battle." Resting her hands on her hips and shaking her head lightly. Men, infuriating really they were. Especially when they seemingly lacked compassion at times. "I should just ignore you." He hated it when she ignored him like he didn't exist. One of those tricks she had learned over the years. But over to the closet with her and pulling out something to wear, seeing as she was still all bloody. "Malikhai should be good enough to travel tomorrow. You on the other hand, are just going to have to suffer the ride."

"Hmm..." Quiet again as she thought it over and kept Dhairiss as close to her as possible. At any minute she expected screaming and fighting to erupt...she just didn't know where it was going to be coming from. And then the tears and the whistling... Shaking her head to send the memories packing, she lightly brushed her fingers through Dhairiss' hair. "Quite selfish of parents to do that to children. More concerned about their own problems and fights than their little ones."
"It was a big deal to me back then. I guess I thought if I was good enough or tried hard enough they would come back and then they'd be upset that I had allowed someone else to take thier place." Lharika had long ago come to terms with it and she'd almost expected the question when she'd mentioned Kieran and Fianna adopting her. "It's alright. They died when I was really little. My mother died in childbirth along with my little brother and my father died shortly after that. He just couldn't take the broken bond and grief. I was left all alone in our house...until Daddy Kieran found me and took me home to live with him."
"He's just a kid like that. Tries to do everything the hard way." A shake of his own head as purple eyes glanced at the crib. "You didn't even take off his boots?" Then again, when the kid got back up he'd be off like a shot anyhow and no one would have time to put them back on. "Yes, he is, but when you throw it to him and he drops it and it rolls, he doesn't want you to go after it. He wants to do it and he doesn't want help either. It's frustrating. And I had Malikhai. And you, you used to play with me all the time. Nym too. Mom didn't but that was different, I don't think she really knew how."

"Hey if Zahara didn't want me on bedrest I'd be walking now."
Though he did pile up the pillows as he felt comfortable with. and gave a curosring glance at his wife while she was looking for clothes.
"there's a nice leather outfit in there. a little form fitting, but not that bad. defendable too. leather is some tough material. So, what are we going to do about the kids then while I'm stuck in this bed?"

He blinked at that one. "My parent's are fighting. The elf who knocked me for a loop said that if he could dual my father then that would be the end of things. Battle stress and worry from my mother both transmit to us, and when the body is in distress it tells us that too. They really can't help it,but things are calmed down now. Mom is still annoyed though."
"He just adopted you because he could? Is that a normal thing?" After all, he never heard of anything like that happening. Maybe it was a thing that just didn't happen here. "Were you alone for long?" After all they had something in common here. "How come you decided that you wanted a family again?"
"He kind of just dropped off on us." Shrugging lightly. "Fine fine if you don't want to play with him then don't play with him. If he fusses, give him five minutes of your time and move on." Before a light chuckle. "Your mother was about as useful as a fish in a desert at first. But she figured things out. And you got a cookie."
"Oh stop being a baby and take your bedrest like a man." Shaking her head and raising an eyebrow at him on his little clothing suggestion. "After the week you've given men you think I'm going parade around in leather just because you like to see me in it. Now now Malik, though I do like to dispsense mercy to you, sometimes it takes a while. And I doubt that I'll needed anything that has armor like qualities to it. It's just a meeting." Leaning on the doorframe a moment to watch him. "What do you mean what are we going to do about the kids?"

"Elves say a lot of things, many times they mean none of them. I wouldn't hold much by someone who sacrificed his honor by going through the son to get to the father." Still running her fingers through the child's hair since he hadn't protested and wasnt' upset. "I suppose there's no way around it, though. They should have found someone to stay with him until it was over. Someone he could latch to and take comfort in. Isn't your whole family practically here?"
"Well, no, not exactly. And it wasn't accepted for a long time despite Daddy Kieran's status." She paused a moment, thinking. "A couple of weeks, I think. Not an awful long time because I was really little. But I didn't want a family again. I wanted mine back and had a lot of problems because of it. I told you about hitting and hurting him, remember? But, it was good for me. I probably wouldn't have survived on my own too much longer. And I needed someone but I didn't realize it. I clung to Daddy Kieran far more than I hit him. I think he knew that, deep down inside, I was really hurting and scared. It's hard being without your parents suddenly, at any age. You feel so lost and alone..."
"Little elves and their reverie. It's rather cute. Not that I can control it but you know..." A shake of his head. He was getting better. He really did need to get a little better with spending time with his little brother. He knew the tot looked up to him and he wasn't providing the best example in the world. "Don't tell her that. Even if it is true. I still remember when she couldn't change my diaper. She was so confused...I laugh everytime I have that reverie."

"You're going to a meeting, or to start a fight, I'm confined to this bed thanks to Zahara. we have one son confined to bed, adn the other one is active and wants to toddle around. I haven't seen Lark since we got back, and Kieran is probably going to be keeping you company and an eye on you for me while your gone. so, who's going to handle the needs of the children?"

"Well they knew he was with me and we're really close, and Aunt Lark checked in on us this morning too. They do things in a way that keep things flowing but let's us know they do car. In fact I can tell you they're thinking about us right now. My parents are still rather worried about me." Giving a cough and holding his ribs as he did so. "But yeah, well except for my grandma."
"Yeah." He was agreeing with her and at the same time appearing as if he was just commenting on the whole of her words and what not. "I guess it would be hard. Have to look for food and stuff on your own and things cost money. Kinda like when your parents go out of town and leave you for a while by yourself and you think you can handle it at first, but then you can't." Being hypothetical and truthful all at the same time.
"You have a better handle on it than him...at least you don't randomly pass out in hallways and stairwells." Grinning lightly at the memory of such things that were indeed amusing. Really now? I missed out on that first time she was changing her, but from what Malik told me later it was indeed highly amusing. At least our of her frustration you have some reveries that make you chuckle. Just do me a favor and stop guilting your mohter. You know you do it."
Disappearing from hie view a moment to wipe off blood and change her clothes, but her voice still clear to him. "Worry is not going to make you heal faster. I'm not just going to go off and leave you and the children to fend for yourselves. Malikhai isn't going to be going anywhere and you better not either. If Dhairiss doesn't come with me, I'll just leave him with Zahara, Lark, or Sevilin. Malik D'vinn consider yourself on vacation again." Coming back out and once again hands on her hips. "How does this look?"

Aunts and grandmas. They were foreign to her but she knew of them, even if she'd never had one herself. "Do you ever wish you didn't have so much family?" Cocking her head and thinking for a moment, "Like maybe thought about them trapping you or something?" Because pretty obviously Malikhai trusted them all which was hard for her to wrap her head around. "Your parents must really be pleased with you to think about you so much. I'm glad they love you right now."
Lark nodded, "It is, especially when you are so young that you don't really understand or have any way to come to terms with the fact that they are gone and probably not coming back." Trailing off for a moment and then wiping her eyes as they filled with moisture. "It was the scariest time of my life and I wonder everyday what would have happened if Daddy Kieran hadn't found me."
"That's true. It was awesome for school, though, since we couldn't control it and whatnot. No way to get into trouble if it was genuine." He nodded, chuckling and shook his head, "She couldnt' figure out how to get it off or what to do with me after it was off. Malik was highly amused and kept baiting her to frustrate her more." He went quiet as his father mentioned something he wasn't too keen to talk about. "She takes it that way. I don't mean it that way...."

"Hey, when did two day bedrest turn into a vacation?"
Taking a look at her, and giving a slight grin.
"you'd look better in leather. but it's fine. doesn't draw a great deal of attention, but enough so that if someone it looking for you they can fidn you easily enough. and I don't think you'd really want to bring Dhairiss with you to that kind of meeting, would you?"
