I see.

*Nana nods lightly to Mastema*

All right, but if he can't...

...be careful.

Slayer: Hmm.... I see. You do realize, though, that the dojo is a sort of enemy to those who reside here yes? This land is similar for miles upon miles. I see no reason why you should not set up residence outside of the citadel..... unless you see some reason as to why the insides of this barrier are someone more peaceful than the land around it. I can assure you that it is safer outside.

Zeno: do do doooo.....

--------------------------

*Mastema nods* You needn't worry about me... I will not allow myself to be easily injured. *He gives her a light smirk, brushing her cheek, before removing his hand and standing by the window* Slayer is very diplomatic most of the time... I believe he could convince this new man that this is not the peace he seeks.... if not I will have to go personally

"Saftey is irrelevant. There is something you cannot understand, a feeling my kind holds. Within these walls there IS peace and I will find it!"

Rage began to boil within Lan as each passing moment flew by. So close to his peace, yet these things would not let him pass! He whispered to himself, trying to sooth his rage. As the whispers progressed he was unaware of the fact that he was drawing Ka'lana. There was a soft scratch of steel on stone as the blade shone brightly in the moonlight.

"I will not ask you again...please, for your own saftey, step aside and let me have my peace."

The way Lan spoke made him seem almost...sad? He would not be stopped, not by a little machine creature, not by the turrets, not by the master of this city himself! Even if he died when he got to his sanctuary, he WILL reach it!

Slayer: *Slayer showed neither fear nor anger at the drawing of the blade* You have not answered my question...... and listen to yourself. It may not mean a thing to "your kind", as you say, but someone, the lord of this citadel, undertook the task of starting its restoration and completing it. Thus, this is home to him and his allies. You can not simply step into a man's home and claim a place as your own. i ask you to reconsider.... you could easily build your shelter and garden on another piece of this land. You're not making sense.... why invade another man's home when you could make one to call your own?

Zeno: becaaaaaaaaaause...

Slayer: Zenogais....silence....This man is already on edge and does not need your provokation.

*Nana lowers her head in a nod*

I understand. I just hope no one has to to get hurt over this peace he seeks...

*It did seem peaceful at the citadel mostly, so it was understandable that it may seem that way to an outsider aswell. Still, something started to gnaw at Nana in the back of her mind about it. Fighting over peace, but unable to attain it because of different views. She begins to wonder about the stranger*

>_>
Hnn...

"I cannot do that...my body...my soul...my very being demands a certain atunement of peace! That peace is within these walls. I do not seek to make this place my own, I only seek to rest. Surely your master can manage to find a place for a man, even of my size, to rest his weary body for a little while."

Lan's blade was held at an easy ready, with his left hand, and he held himself in just such a way that if Slayer attacked from the right he could brush it aside with his blade, if he attacked from the left then he would easily roll away from it. The only attack options left to Slayer, should he attack, was Lan's back, above, below, or dirrectly infront of him, but only an idiot attacked a giant head on.

Indeed. Well now.... *He holds out his arms to his sides and his long coat appears over his arms, but he still did not wear a shirt* I am off to speak with this man..... I may permit him to stay for a time.... but I'm a good dealer.... perhaps this can work for both of us. *He walks over to Nana, leans over, and kisses her forehead briefly* I'll return soon... *He steps back and fades*

Slayer: *nods* Very well. The master is on his way here..... I believe he is willing to allow you some access....assuming you will hear him out....

Lan's blade cleaved straight through the ground. Large cracks ran in every which dirrection as the silver broad sword, Ka'lana, found warmth within the confines of the cold earth. Lan's massive hand wrapped around the prommel of his sword and he took a relaxed stance, watching the small mechanical Zeno with a warry eye.

*Nana watches Mastema in wonderment, then he fades to go speak with Lan*

Ah...!

v_v

...careful love.

*Nana places the pillow back where it was at the head of the bed, then wanders over to the piano and window, looking out. Though she could not see the undertaking of Mastema and Lan from the way the tower faced*

Zeno: hmm hmm hmmmmmm *Zeno skates back into the citadel*

Slayer: Ah... here he is

*Mastema forms overhead and a bit in front of Lan. He drops to his feet without a sound. He stands up fully and looks to Lan with a smirk. Mastema's eyes were red.... it almost looked as if the iris were made of blood. There was a distinct atmosphere around Mas... and it wasn't a pleasant one* Well now..... So this is the one who seeks refuge in my home. Well well..... since you're so persistent.... perhaps we can deal....

"A deal? And what would this deal be?"

Lan rose a cautious, fuzzy white, brow as he let his hand slide around the handle of Ka'lana. The feel of this man sickened him, and Lan was not going to be on the receiving end of a surprise attack. The ground seemed to churn a little bit as Lan removed his weapon from the earth. It seemed to...heal itself.

*He smirked. Oh yeah... there was a smirk you could trust* Two conditions. I will let you remian in this citadel if, one, you do not go anywhere off limits to you. For now the only such areas are the west side of the citadel and the subterranean levels. And two, if the citadel comes under fire and your aid is requested, you will do all that is in your power to repel the invaders. In essence I'm asking you to be a back up reserve fighter in exchange for being allowed to remain here

*Nana pulls back the curtains a bit. She couldn't sense anything going on, her powers to sense aura's only went as far as pure angelics. If she wanted to be able to see in a different way, then it would have to be learned*

>.>;

I wonder.....

"I will remain where I am allowed to go, I only seek the peace that I have sought for so long. As for assisting should you citadel come under attack...I will not. This place is a place of evil, I can feel it vile taint dripping into my body like crude oil into crystal water. Though there is one being here...one I can feel...one of innocence. I will protect this being of innocence with every ounce of might my body can muster. Anything further, anything tainted, will remain in your power to defend."

The only thing untainted within Mastema's citadel, that was more then apparent, was Nana. The angelic being, though fallen, was still a pure being, and a symbol of Lan's strength. Mastema, who may also have been angelic, was an impure beast and would be left to die, should the situation arise when his life was put into danger. But, the master of this citadel seemed powerful enough to guard himself, so it was not much of a bother to Lan.

*He narrowed his eyes. He didn't know how Lan knew of Nana, but it didn't matter* To defend part of this citadel is to defend all of it. I'm not asking much my dear friend. I assure you that this citadel has enough power to defend itself. I can guarantee any that should attack this place will be far more vile than I..... It's all or nothing. You agree to the first condition.... but you must also defend it should I request your assistance. I would not worry.... my other soldiers are too prideful to ask for assistance from one such as yourself. You have nothing to lose.... *He grins* All you have to do is say yes and your access to your long sought peace is yours...
