Ysavvryl Cameron is a canon character, if incredibly minor, being the guy in Johto who takes your picture. So I threw him in there as the storm photographer, mostly so that he's named. And now he'll die, or something. rofl A battle over Blackthorn would be nifty. And we'd have to consider that their air protection is mostly dragons. If Omega brings in flying dragons to attack, then they're all going to be weak to each others attacks. Or they could bring in a mass of Pokemon who can create hail/snow conditions, i guess.
Blackthorn would have the advantage of being near the Ice Cave thus being able to persuade the ice pokemon into helping (as seen, the Swinub already are).
But we can definitely throw around a few ideas 3nodding It'd be interesting if Omega soldiers did try and take over Blackthorn by foot definitely.
ALSO Silver will be off finding the Rocket Base (with Alder or Wallace or someone who's on the islands) and I suggested to Emili earlier that perhaps it had some old radio/computer equipment. It'd be outdated, so it might be on radio waves that Omega wouldn't be tracking, but it would still work (after a little tinkering). But it's an idea that it could be used to connect with rebels around the region without Omega's knowledge? So perhaps Silver/the Rebels could get in contact with Cameron and see his footage of Steven?

Two posts in three days! I think that's a record for me. xD
I left Gale outside with the assumption that Lucian could convince him to hand over the letter rather than deliver it directly to Wallace. Mostly because Lorelei's house is getting pretty full already, and a tired, hungry Skarmory takes up a good amount of space. Hope that's okay!
Lance apparently doesn't need to be Spored to fall asleep just now.
Clair and the other dragon trainers have gathered the help of the pokemon from the Ice Path. Some just report on things, and others, like the Delibird flock they work with, help maintain the traps and can assist known rebels through the path if necessary.
. . . If Omega were to come in and torch the Ice Path--! I'm not sure what that would leave them with for a path, but that's a large-scale attack possibility for getting foot troops through.

Myuutsu I'd like to know what would spur the Omega's to launch an attack. And that's another good question. It will be a big resource drain--much moreso than the attack on the boats--to effectively take down Blackthorn. And as yet, Blackthorn is really just an annoyance to them. They've mainly only been providing a shelter for rebels; they haven't been attacking anything and don't necessarily have any intention to. Blackthorn is easy to defend, but it's far enough from most things that it's not very strategically located.
So far, they've mainly gotten the random Omega soldier or troop of soldiers who, for the promise of a reward should they succeed, try to sneak or break in. But they're easily dealt with.

I'd assume, if Blackthorn were to start drawing attention to itself. Hiding rebels that are known 'criminals' and who have warrants out for their arrests?
I feel really rubbish. Stupid cold. Stupid ear. Stupid stupid stupid.

I'd say they're already doing that. =/ And I'm sure everyone knows that Blackthorn is where Lance would be (and has been, not too long ago) if/when he's in Johto, so they've already harbored a Champion.
It would have to be something a lot more public, I'd think--or for something else very public to happen such that Omega would feel it needed to take down Blackthorn for PR reasons. If Omega was very publicly pursuing someone important--which is to say, most people knew who it was and that Omega had sighted them/was tracking them--and they fled to Blackthorn, perhaps? Hmm.
For all that Blackthorn is decidedly on the side of the rebels, their main purpose for barricading themselves off is to protect their ancestral home. Their goal, I think, has been to continue to be more trouble to destroy than they're worth.

Well if you need a reason to target Blackthorn, I already have Steven and Cynthia in the area. I could easily have them make more trouble for Omega. They're trying to avoid trouble, but depending on what Eusine does, they might have to do something public again.
Or if we want to put off the Blackthorn battle (which I'd kind of rather, since I've established that Steven needs a few more days of recovery), they might opt to stay in the Johto area to work against Omega. Or return to talk to the others, then some people could go back. The Dragon Clan might not like it, since they're trying to protect Blackthorn.
We'll see.
Zee, I hope your cold goes away soon!

I'd like any possible battle to be postponed until this business with Cameron's Ecruteak video is seen by the rebels on the Islands. Cynthia and Steven need to arrive and rest, and meet Clair and Morty. I've decided that Eusine's going to lose them and go off the rails, seeing hallucinations and other things.
Something needs to spark the attack. Johto collapsed 2 years prior, so what would reignite the Omega's interest in the city besides it's history of providing shelter for the rebels?

How about:
The rebels on the Islands overhear the community gossiping about Cameron's video. They see proof that Steven's not only alive, but taking steps to cause unrest amongst the populace.
They go to the old Rocket warehouse and transmit a message to Blackthorn, telling Clair that they should be expecting Steven's arrival.
Now Joseph and Judge know from the doctor that Steven was in Ecruteak, they send a battalion to capture him. When they arrive, they see he's left and search the surrounding routes.
A small squadron head off in Blackthorn's direction, where they come across Eusine (he's on the verge of a mental breakdown), who tells them where Steven's heading. They regroup, and lead by one of the top Omega's, launch the assault on Blackthorn.
From there, anything is possible.
Perhaps some of the rebels on the islands decide to intervene and help bolster Blackthorn's defences?
As Ysavvryl said, maybe the attack is started with a snowstorm?
One of the rebels is captured and brainwashed?
As for the outcome of a battle, I don't know.

Hmm. It still doesn't feel like there's the push Omega would need to bother. It would make more sense to just have exits from Blackthorn surrounded--they know the Champions aren't intending to stay there indefinitely, and it would be easier to go after them as they're leaving while they're not so heavily defended.
It's also going to take a while to get at the Rocket Base. Silver hasn't even mentioned it yet, and it's going to be a bit of a hassle both finding it--if no one's stumbled across it by now, it's pretty well hidden--and getting things in good enough order to make it useable. Likewise, although there will be communication equipment, that will also require someone on the other end to have similar equipment and know the proper frequency. Blackthorn never had a Rocket presence, did it? I think the closest was up by Lake of Rage.
. . . I feel like this might be something we'll want to save for a little later. A full-scale attack on Blackthorn is a big deal for both sides. Right now, Sevii doesn't really have much in the way of reinforcements that they can send, especially at short notice. It's a bit of a trip. And either way, the results of the battle could be pretty game-changing for either side. If Blackthorn falls, that's a serious strategic potential lost--stuck between the regions like that, if they can get properly organized, they really could use Blackthorn as a base rather than just a hideaway. If Blackthorn doesn't fall, that's a serious problem for Omega--which makes me think that they'll just keep pummeling it until it does or until their attention is forced to move elsewhere.
But this should happen at some point. Preferably once the rebels are a bit more organized and can use it as either a launching point or a distraction. I'm expecting there will be several different things going at that point.

I think *touch wood* my cold is starting to get better :]
Emili and I are trying our hardest now to catch up the Sevvi islands with the Johto time line. We thought perhaps what was happening on the islands was earlier on in the same day as the storm in Johto?
(I really want to write some Grimsley, what is WRONG with me?! Don't I have enough characters already?! sweatdrop )
I also think that striking Blackthorn at the moment is a bit pre-emptive. Omega wouldn't attack it unless they had a very valid reason to (Blackthorn publicly coming out in favour of the rebellion/hosting a base for the rebellion to strike out from?) or they knew they would win.
(You guys feel free to write out posts for minor characters that are on the run if you'd like? Maybe a rebel that's captured and brainwashed for Omega could be someone like Blue, who's gone missing after the explosion? Or Professor Oak?)

So, general consensus is that we should hold off on the Omega attack on Blackthorn, but keep it on the back burner. =) So let's keep thinking about it; I'm sure we'll need it before too long. Right now, though, we need a bit more of a concerted effort on the part of the rebels.
Which will hopefully start soon: Lucian will be explaining what he and the other Psychics have been preparing over the past few months.
Zee, you have enough characters? We've already noted that I'm likely to have six in the same room fairly shortly. xD (No wonder Lance isn't saying much--there's no space!) . . . And I'm still finding N being rescued by a soggy Reshiram ridiculously adorable. Particularly because Reshiram is a fair bit vain.
It would be a while before anyone can get to Grimsley, though. Unless you're throwing Joseph at him. D=

Please do not throw him at me. D= Do not want.
Soggy Reshiram is quite disgruntled.
Oh! I'd forgotten about Avion! D= And we haven't seen Lots of Sun for a while either, have we?
Well, she probably wouldn't be too keen on going to see Lucian. Infiltrator generally equals avoid people who could read your mind. So if Lindy ran into her already, she'd probably have said she was the one with the Grumpig to get out of going. (Which would give her time to come up with a plan.) Lindy can then tell Zee that she needs anyone without a Psychic pokemon instead. (And it will confuse Lindy when Zee points out that Atera already has one, but she'll just assume Lucian missed Atera's for some reason.)
Will that work? =)
