"Valley of Four Winds? That's so far away!" Ayane flushed and lowered her voice, "why is it your responsibility to take care of Ghost. He's powerful and strong, he can take care of himself,"

"As I said...My father wanted me to watch him since Ghost was the former King of Dragons. Since I am his daughter and have the title 'Princess of Dragons' I have to earn my keep. Since I am a halfling." Blackfeather said. "And what my father said to do was watch Ghost cause he feared that he would try to regain his old title..."

Isa, lost in her own thoughts, put the black-haired girl's food in front of her. "Oh, sorry, I didn't see you there before," she said, addressing the other person. "Can I get you something, too?"
Before she could get a reply, the tavern owner called to Isa, "Hey, get the fire lit, will you?"
"I'll be right back," Isa sighed. She walked over to the fireplace. As she'd done with her own fire, she lit the logs already sitting there. A few seconds later, fire cheerfully crackled and danced along the logs. Smiling, Isa went back to the table to get the order down.

"Makes sense," Isa remarked, flicking an easy glance at the girl's wings. "I'm Isa, by the way. And by the way that my boss is waving his hands about, I better go do something." She smiled. "Call me when you're ready to order," she told the second girl as she walked away.
"What do you want?" Isa demanded, her tone entirely different from the one she used on customers. "I was being nice for once in my life."
"Go wash the dishes or something," her boss told her. "Or heat up the stove. My daughter's back, we don't need you to serve anymore."
Isa tipped her head to the side. "You know what," she said, smiling charmingly. "You're a stupid jackass." She went to talk to his daughter, who was one of her few friendly acquaintances.

"Poor child..." Blackfeather said as she watched. "I bet she's like it better if she worked for Miss Cat...that Lady always pays well." BlackFeather left Ayane for a second to talk to Isa again.
"So kiddo do ya like working this guy?" BlackFeather said with a light smirk. "Cause you seem to be a good gal and knows how to earn your keep."

Isa shrugged. "It's work," she said. "It pays, and he gives me a room to sleep in. Better than sleeping in the forest. And I tried the village before, it wasn't my style. Too quiet. Why? Got something better to offer?"

"I have a friend, her name is Miss Cat, and she is looking for help in her Inn down the street. She is a sweet Lady and pays well. She also gives you a room and feeds you as well no charge." Blackfeather said as she jabbed her thumb towards second street.
