Niki frowned, trying to stop her laughing. "Dunno... hehehe.. why." Her arm did hurt, but why was she laughing like this? Owwies make you cry, not laugh.

Niki giggled, then tried to stop long enough to think. Random bursts of giggles interrupted the pondering silence from the girl. "Uhh... hehehe... Up?" She pointed to the ceiling, indicating the levels above them. Of course, those levels were restricted to them, but when had that ever stopped Niki?

Niki shook her head and stood, ungrasping her elbow long enough to push herself up with that hand. As soon as she was on her feet, her hand went back to her elbow. "Okay... hehe..."

Niki looked around. They were currently in one of the larger rooms, the floors padded as it was used regularly as a practice room. A circle was outlined in the middle of the room, where pairs often battled for practice.

Luckily, Niki and Parmida were near the door and there seemed to be no one else watching the youngsters. Nodding, the girl strode forward, her hand now clasped to her mouth to keep the giggles muffled. She peered out the door and, spotting no one, headed out.

Niki really didn't know where she was going. But she would make it seem that way, at the very least.

After a minute or two of walking, the two eventually wound up at a staircase. This was a good sign. Grinning over her shoulder at Parmida, a small giggle escaping as well, Niki started her way up the stairs. At the landing, there was an empty chair. It seemed that there was usually a guard, but someone had vacated their post. Lucky for Niki and Parmida.

Niki led Parmida down a white hallway, devoid of any people. Some cries were heard from behind a closed door and Niki slowed to look at the doors to the room before carrying on. Most of the doors were closed as they passed them and Niki peered into a few of the opened ones along the way. Most were rooms without people in them, but there was a big bed inside it.

One of the doors showed a room filled with boxes. Another, a desk and some chairs. Niki frowned and toddled on down the hallway. All, look. A room with people in it. Niki paused, unsure if these people would be nurses. Or if the two girls would get into trouble talking with them.

She watched for a few moments. The three women had their backs to the door and seemed to be busy with something in front of them.

"Ah, he's such a cutie." "Look at him squirm." "A quiet one, this is." Were some of the comments that were loud enough to be heard and one of the women moved enough so that the two girls could see a bundle wrapped in a green blanket.

The owner of the sleeve being tugged nearly jumped out of her skin. The three women turned, looking around, then down and spotting the two toddlers. Niki stepped forward a bit, slightly cautious now that they might get into trouble, but curious as to what was in one of the women's arms.

The owner of the tugged sleeve smiled down at the two girls. "An owwied elbow? Well, I can look at that. I'll get it fixed, good as new." She smiled at Niki, who relaxed and stepped forward so the nurse could see her elbow.

"It hurted and it made me laugh. Owwies don't make you laugh..." Niki stated, her case of the giggles nearly over, but a slight pain from her elbow still there.

"Hmmm..." The nurse spotted the small red spot from where the little girl had hit her elbow. "You hit your funny bone. It hurts, but it also makes you laugh." Knowing full well that the pain would go away on its own after a little while, the nurse pulled a bandage out of her pocket and wrapped it about the girl's elbow. "There you go. It'll feel better in no time."

Meanwhile, the woman holding the bundle looked at the third woman, who shrugged. The second woman smiled down at Parmida. "This is a baby. He is number 008." She lowered the baby a bit so the girls could see. "You'll be seeing him soon. He's almost big enough to join you and start classes."

Niki looked down at her bandaged elbow and nodded. She wandered over to look at the little baby.

The woman holding 008 nodded. "Yes, soon. Him and some others."

The woman who 'fixed' Niki looked at the two girls. "Shouldn't you two be in class...?"

Niki looked at the floor and nodded. "But I gots an owwie..."

The woman nodded. "Yes, and you needed someone to fix it. But next time, have your teacher bring you up here, okay?" She looked over at the other two women. "I'll take them back down. I doubt they can find their way back."
