 Hit Points: 7/7 || Magic Used: Adept: 1/2 body-ody-ody slam (the door) ___________________ Indira watched the purple noulicorn from earlier fit the gear into the slot, and then all hell broke loose. Furry bodies rushed out, growing and snapping, and then there was a voice. And a face! One of the kidnapped vivifies! Her heart pounded. Were they all going to make it out? As the spotty noul emerged, suddenly the door slammed shut, catching their tail firmly, leaving them a sitting target. One well placed swipe to their throat could be the end of them ... After all of this, Indira wasn't about to let that happen. She hurtled herself at the door, gear still clenched between her teeth, trying to wedge it back open to free the trapped noulicorns. Surely her companions could hold their own for a moment. They at least weren't tethered to some other constructed monstrosity. Sensing she was making some progress she backed up as far as she could given the chaos and through herself at the door again. The impact was jarring, but did it seem to be working? She hoped so. She needed this noulicorn free so she could assist her companions.

Hit Points: 5/7 || Magic Used: (Choose one: Giftless - 0/0 ) ___________________ Hero Mode Activate!? (Attacking the beast after Sweetpea! ) Havoc had moved to stand by his pink companion from earlier and nearly bumped into her when a pale doe smelling of rats shoved past him looking a mess with another of those gears. Gross. Several of the does were doing something with the door thing. There was no time to see what they were up to though. Beasts started shoving their way out of the crack! So much for talking to them, they looked madddd.Terror spiked through the buck as he saw one charge right at them, hungry eyes fixated on Sweetpea. Adrenaline and energy he thought were completely depleted by now welled up, and he lowered his horn. They had fought one before, he was ready to fight this one too! "Here we go again." He muttered and charged forward, hoping to collide with the weight of his body and interrupt the beast's charge.

Hit Points: 7/7 || Magic Used: Apprentice: 1/1 ___________________ Attacking the thing attacking her (Body) Chaos swept over them in a second, making it abundantly clear that the beasts would not be engaging in any negotiations today. Cinder barely had time to make out the shape of a furry monster charge toward her and react to it, dipping her head defensively to place her horn in between herself and the creature.

Hit Points: 5/7 || Magic Used: 0/0 ___________________ beatin up beasties Sweetpea was delighted to see Havoc sidle up beside her. Now she had her old companion, and she had powerful Indira, and that made her feel a lot more protected. Unfortunately, neither of them could really protect her from what was about to happen. Apparently they’d been a little too on-the-nose with their taunts and the beasts were MAD. She let out a yelp as they began spilling out of the door. One, two, three, too many beasts. The last one out came straight for her and she let out a primal cry as she reared up to meet it with her hooves. Her leg still hurt. She was still terrified. But now she had no choice but to fight. She was just thankful it was out here in the open where she could rely on her new friend’s help.

Rolling with fighter's claw.
Rolled: 8 + 2 body = 10 Specterdust knew what happened next was not because of her. She didn’t have that kind of charm, but she was prepared to attack another beast. They were all muscle and snapping teeth, enough to scare anyone. The first one to come out lunged for the spotty doe and Specterdust wasted no time as she shouted, “I DON’T THINK SO!” She went at the beast with horn ready while Kevin leaped to her back and then the beast’s and assaulted its face and ears. The need to protect the others sang through her veins as she attacked. Her first key point on the beast was to blind side it in the head with her horn. WC: 114 / 4,122 thyPOPE quoting ya so you know Specterdust is helping Cattleya.

___________________ As the gear clicked into place chaos erupted as if a portal to Hell had manifested. The beasts pushing their way through as if dinner was served whilst the other unicorns taunted and tried charming these horrific creatures. Three managed through leaving them pre-occupied with the other nouls they were targeting. Nereida winced as one of the trapped nouns, a buck desperately tried wedging his body through the door as it clamped shut on his tail. He cried out making the situation even more unbearable. Seeing there were only three of these predators she worried for the rescue party but, her relief became apparent no more would escape joining this battle.
Turning back to the gear she studied the shape, the texture, and the exact placement it was sitting in. Using her horn she tried nudging it while turning to Fawn and Owl Heart, "Big Rat did mention it could open and... Close the mechanism". Possibly she was searching for answers from the other two or her mind was searching for alternatives. All she knew was it was pure chaos swirling around her while her mind fumbled on the cause and effect of the device and its pros and cons.
In retrospect, it was a nightmare right now...Nereida WC: 208

Hit Points: 7/7 || Magic Used: 1/2 Figure out the gear.7 + 2(Wit) = 9 ___________________ all HELL broke loose as the door opened then closed. This caused a new strange Noul to get himself wedged between the doors to keep them from closing completely. As Nereida went to look at the gear that had been placed within the door. Frowning, that rat had mentioned it opening and closing... Was there another slot to place it in? "You guys see another slot that this could fit into? This one seems to be the one to close the doors. Perhaps there is another to open them." She spoke over the sounds of those fighting behind them. Talltale was seated on her back watching those fighting the three beasts that had escaped when the doors opened before closing. Whiskers twitching he hopped to Fawn's shoulder and peered around at the door, trying to see if there is another spot. "What about turning it around in the slop. Grooves might be different if placed the other way." He suggested as Fawn nods. "Could try that too. Like the key is backwards, worth a shot at the very least."Moving a step closer, she turned enough to allow Talltale to attempt the remove the gear and turn it over to see if that changes anything. Couldn't hurt to try... Right?

Hit Points: 7/7 || Magic Used: Giftless - 0/0 ___________________ Owlheart had tripped on the way back, causing her to be a bit behind the other two does running back to the group, but just in time for all hell to break loose, she danced on the spot for a moment, listening to Nereida and Russet Fawn. "You two do... that, i'll stand guard" she said, she felt sick, these beasts were terrifying, those jaws made her shudder but she wasn't going to break down, She would have joined the fight but if any of those creatures broke off to stop Nereida or Russet Fawn, well by Vikeli, she would defend her new friends with all her strength but... "Why are you doing this?" she cried to the beasts "Our friends gave you life anew, please....stop..." her voice was high and squeaky in her fear, the two Faeries held onto her, trying to lend her some bravery, they trusted her. (kinda trying to charm the beasts, she's not very confident)

(charm)___________________ A beast snapped at Cat's heels all of a sudden, and she jumped forward - away from the door - in fright. Thankfully, though, there were other nouls here, and she watched as a small grey botanic adept darted over to fend it off. " Thank you," she gushed, and then when she turned she noticed the spotted face in the door crack. "Oh - " Everyone here was rushing to help all of a sudden, though, and Cat inhaled carefully. "We don't need to be fighting!" she said, looking over at the beast they'd captured. "Look - on our own, nouls may be smaller than you all are, and maybe weaker, too. But we have numbers on our side, and it's us that brought you back in the first place. I know you're hungry, but there has to be a better way!"

The Waterfall Indira slams herself into the door with all her strength! The gears in the mechanism whine and whirr angrily, but the door inches open just enough for the buck to free himself. He stumbles a few steps and turns to Indira with gratitude and fear in his eyes. ellanoire Congrats! This grey roan leopard appy buck is all yours! flings himself at the solid grey beast attacking Sweet Pea. He succeeds in getting its attention! The monster turns away from Sweet Pea and swipes at Havoc instead, instilling 1 damage on Havoc!Cinder aims her horn at the spotted beast, but this one is smart! It swerves out of the way and snaps its teeth at Cinder’s shoulder instead, causing 1 damage to Cinder! Fortunately for Havoc, Sweet Pea’s hooves came crashing down on the beast’s head! The beast wrenched to the side and chased after her legs, scrapping its teeth along her pastern. The solid grey beast and Sweet Pea take 1 damage! A large brown beast was gunning for Lady Cattleya, but Specterdust rushed in with her horn poised, landing a deep hit to the creature’s shoulder for 1 damage to the beast! Unfortunately with all the chaos happening around her, Neredia can’t get a good look at the gear! Russet Fawn keeps a clearer head as she examines the door. Before Tall Tale removes the gear, she notices something glimmering about it. It’s infused with some sort of magic! Nothing happens when the gear pops free, but when Tall Tale reverses it and pops it back into place, the door begins to slowly creep open. A few sets of rounded ears swiveled toward Owlheart when she spoke. The solid grey beast steps away from Havoc and Sweet Pea and stares at Owl Heart instead. “But we’re so hungry. What do we do?” The spotted beast, so far undamaged, is swayed by Cattleya’s words and pauses, but this one remains silent. Solid Grey HP: 6/7
Spotted HP: 7/7
Brown HP: 6/7 Quote: The solid grey beast and spotted beast have disengaged from the fight! Attacking one again will cause it to re-enter the battle, but for now, they’re considering other options.The door is opening! If something doesn’t change on the next turn, more beasts will spill out! Although, an open door does give the survivors an opportunity to escape. Battle the Beasties With 2d6 + BODY or throw some magic at them with 2d6 + WIT! (magic in battle will always result in at least a partial success) Talk some Sense into them!With a roll of 2d6 + CHARM Close the Door! Fawn’s discovered that switching the gear around will open or close the door. Roll 2d6 + WIT to fiddle with the gear. It’s difficult concentrating with all the battles breaking loose around you!

She was about to whirl around and box the spotted beast's ears when she realized he had stopped. She skidded to a halt, blinking, staring. Where they... maybe... stopping? "We aren't the ones you want to eat, anyway," she said carefully. "If you eat us all you'll just be hungry again in a few days. What if we could... figure something out?"

Havoc was not prepared for the brute strength of the beast's charge and hit the solid mass of it with less force than he had envisioned. It directed its full rage on him and wacked him stumbling aside. The wind was knocked out of the buck and he wheezed, steadying himself as Sweetpea brained the thing. "Nice!" He managed weakly. It was a strange sight to see the slight pink doe clashing with the enormous creature. Havoc huffed and readied himself for the next attack. It might be off-balance, he was ready to plow into it again to keep it distracted... but... it stopped fighting? He narrowed his eyes, not trusting what he was seeing, but it was looking at another doe now and not making any move to hurt anyone. Weird. The high of the fight still coursed through him, he fidgeted and tried to get his brain to think of something. Anything at all. What could they tell the creatures to get them to.. what? Leave? "Yeah we are little and bony. There are better things to hunt out there..." Hopefully? He had no idea and probably sounded less than convincing. But others were trying to reason with them, he would try too. "Why fight, we could help each other? We already helped you right?"

___________________ Nereida watched as Fawn and Telltale worked with the gear realizing each side could control an open or close effect. Interesting. All the talking, yelling, and persuading filling such a small space confused the lilac doe's perception. Stepping back she left the gear to Fawn after noticing two of the beasts were conflicted even if their Hunger was strong. While the others battled, Nereida was letting her mind seek a solution. Owlheart was doing a great job of getting their attention which was giving Nereida an idea. As pointed out, several times brawn wasn't her forte so she filed through a few ideas to settle the beasts even more in their confusion. Thinking attentively she cleared her throat closing her eyes, a focus on letting her voice carry over the chaos that swirled like unforgivable rapids in a river.
"There has been much bloodshed from your resurrection. I realize you are indeed famished but, there has to be a way to find a solution rather than devouring every noulicorn in your path", she announced turning her head to the door gauging Fawn's progress.
As she returned her focus to the beasts once more she continued, "Those behind that door had the capability to bring you to life. I'm sure if you, your pack banded together and listened to the Accended nouls they could find an answer to sate your hunger." Eyes settling on each of the beasts listening to her words, Nereida hoped that her words were sinking inward, "Killing us will only cause you more Hunger after there's nothing to left to eat. Please consider this so we and the Ascended nouls can work with you to find an answer".
Through her speech, she remained calm leaving her charm to sway them to the right decision. Glancing back at Fawn and Owlheart Nereida nodded.Nereida WC: 305

Hit Points: 7/7 || Magic Used: 1/2 Closing that Door!___________________ The door had stopped closed when Talltale pulled the gear from its spot. When he placed it back on the reversed side the door started opening. So that was how it worked, she had noted the glimmer of magic that was around the gear. That was way the Big Rat coveted the gear so much, she supposed he had placed magic or someone did on the gear to make it work this way. Glancing at the door as it opened, ever so slowly she looked back towards those that were fighting or charming the beasts. She had to wonder if there were any others behind the door besides those that were taken. "take a peek behind the door and see what you can see. we'll let it open for now..." She said over her shoulder to Talltale whom dropped down and hopped through the opening door. He didn't last long before coming back and leaping back onto Fawn's flank. His fur was sticking out on all sides as he reached to pull the gear from its spot to stop the door from moving any further. "The Nouls are there, but more of those beasts were there too..." He said fumbling with the gear a little. Frowning Fawn looked at the three beasts that her companions were dealing with before looking at the door that was surely open enough for more to come through. "Lets close the door enough to keep the other beasts from getting through, these three are enough to handle. Any more and we'd be in more trouble then we can deal with."Talltale nodded as he placed the gear back into the slot on the side that closed the door. Here they would wait for it to close enough to allow nothing to get through besides air and a bit of light. She hoped that these could be subdued before opening the door again to unleash the rest of the pack...

Hit Points: 7/7 || Magic Used: Giftless - 0/0 ___________________ Owlheart wasn't sure for a moment, what to do when her words were, at least partially, successful and two of the beasts stopped fighting her fellow nouls. "You were hungry, you're sated for now right? otherwise you wouldn't have kidnapped those who gave you life" She said, trying to stay calm. "We nolicorns are here to heal these lands, not just these, but as we spread, so does our healing, giving space for our kind, and now yours, to spread and grow" She paused "There are other creatures in this world, creatures without the intelligence we have, to fight back. Think about your own numbers, those here are but a fraction of our species and we know our way around, I'm not trying to threaten you here but you must know if you and your fellows continue to hunt us, we are not all peaceful, as you're finding out" She paused "We don't want to hurt anyone but we can and we will defend the right to survive, just as you do. Don't waste the chance you've been given at life, i know it must be confusing, this isn't the world you originally lived in but we can make it a world we can live and work together to flourish this land surely? you're clearly intelligent creatures, despite what we eat, we're the same" she pleaded.
