Ella grinned as Quilo examined her hand, wagging her tail behind her. Yes! It was amazing! Still, her eyes flicked back to the Nezubat before rolling her gaze to Quilo. Yes! He was going to remedy this entire problem!
Or. That.
She watched Quilo pet the Nezubat, puffing her cheeks out. Well, that worked, too. Her plan had been to scare away the familiar! But if he could coax it not to hurt Tarin then that worked! She jumped when an adult tossed something into Quilo's pail, leaning over to peer inside.
"Ewwwww!!" She squeaked. A Nezubat swept onto Quilo's head, causing a soft pout to cross Ella's features. Now she was the only one left out! As if sensing her frown, someone passed by, tossing a.... Nezubat familiar into her pail! She matched, kind of!

Nex had been watching the two, eyes landing on the screaming Pumpka. What even.... Something brushed against his arm, causing him to jump in surprise. A muzzle jammed into his cheek, a tongue poking out and licking his cheek in greeting. A Specterfox? Extending a hand, he rubbed under the familiars chin. The creature cooed, curling up beside him and resting their head in his lap. Huh. A new friend?
The sound of Korv caught his attention, head raising. "Look." He murmured, nodding towards his new friend.
nepsah
THIS WAS NOT A TIME FOR TACKLE HUGS! He squirmed a little in his frantic desire to get away from the Pumpka, instead trapped against Korv. Nonono NO let him go! It was going to eat him! The Pumpka shrieked louder, advancing. He was almost delighted when Korv decided to move, following after him (for once) eagerly.
Except the Pumpka followed!
"Yes, yes, you have a familiar. Can we go? Somewhere? Quickly?" He cried out when Nex spoke, seizing Nex's hand and pulling. He didn't notice the candy in his pail. That didn't matter!
nepsah
What would he name it? The hybrid nibbled his bottom lip, head tossing back and forth as he watched Des play the game. He took his turn, rewarded with candy, before suddenly a name appeared.
"Apollo?" He questioned, looking over at his brother. That was good, right?
nepsah
He flashed a smile back. "I guess we do!" He chirped, wings flapping as he turned around to glance about. Well. They were here to trick-or-treat, right? Or something like that? Maybe they could hit up a few scary houses? Glancing back over her, he looked at her hand, swallowing thickly. He had always wondered what it was like to hold someones hand, and they needed to stay close in the crowd! T-that and... well, her hand looked so soft.
Alright, Eques. You could do this....
"I saw a haunted house nearby. Do you want to go?" He questioned, extending his hand as his cheeks remained teal. He was not payinh attention as someone dropped a rock in his pail.
Lady Argentum Draconis
She fought the urge to roll her eyes, instead flicking her tail in her normal agitated fashion. Fine. He had a point, even if she did look ridiculous! She did click her tongue when he commented on her aggression, a brief and rare smile touching her features.
"Who was the one who said I needed to vent more? Not bottle things up?" She headed to the booth, accepting the mallet given to her before turning to view the plastic Pumpka's. "Besides, I had a terrible month prior. Those... you know what I'm talking about." She abruptly ended her sentence, aiming for a Pumpka and.... BAM.
Of course, she won the game. Ava had enough pent up anger for days. The entire Nixie drama had left her tense, and the booth had been a good way to empty that anger. Stretching her arms in the air, she let out a relieved sigh, accepting the candy handed to her.

Kappa wasn't too surprised after the pleasant evening with the older woman that it quickly went back to a miserable night. Someone had tossed a poo candy into his pail, snickering like a belligerent child, and Kappa kept watching as creepier and creepier costumes wandered by. The Geist rubbed his face, about to get up and leave when....
Was that Morin?!
"M-Morin!" Kappa yelped, rushing towards the man and grabbing his arm, pulling. It was him! Thank the Nine!
Nasaiki
Tobias was going home, he decided. Maybe he'd spot Yue later that evening and hang out with her. Maybe not. He was mostly just tired, and he didn't know what to do. Grabbing his things, the boy spotted a forgotten plushie nearby, adding that to his pail. Alright! Maybe he'd watch a scary movie tonight? Yeah, that sounded much more relaxing.

JUST IN CASE YOU WANT YUE TO POP UP
It seemed the frantic fan also wanted to give him a chocolate bar. Peeeeerfect! Accepting the bar, the Fallen watched as she ran off, grinning almost ear to ear. Now that had been what he expected! That was how it was supposed to be done! Brushing himself off, the Fallen decided to try trick-or-treating again, heading back into the crowd.

Falsetto rolled her eyes as Charlotte kept stopping everywhere. Eventually, once they reached the end of the field, she turned her head, nodding towards the junior.
"Can we go back, now?" She questioned, watching Charlotte come barreling back to her. What the hell.... what was in her hands? Was it.... wiggling? And alive? Was Charlotte mature enough to handle a living being? Shrugging, the senior accepted a bracelet tossed to her, examining it before dropping it in her pail.
no one
Charlotte had found a Pumpka, yanking it up and cooing before rushing back to Falsetto to show her. She needed to meet her new best friend!
"Look! Look! Isn't it adorable?!" She squealed, completing ignoring her friends desire to go home. Seizing Falsetto's hand, she squealed as she tugged the hybrid behind her, heading straight for the nearest house.

"Hello, Vaden," Zillah replied with a smile. "This is my brother Iah, he wanted to come out and have some fun at the event and I kind of tagged along. I'm not too thrilled about the crowd, honestly, but I did win a plush bat using some physics." She held the bat up for a second, showing off her prize. She was telling the truth, she'd rather be back in her dorm conducting an experiment or just catching a little shut-eye. However even she knew she should show up at events from time to time; being social tended to keep a lot of teasing at bay.
"How about yourself, Vaden? Are you enjoying the event at all this year?" She asked, though she was pretty sure he was in the same boat as herself; not enjoying so much as tolerating so many people around at once. "Most of the games this year aren't too hard...so long as you can find the proper equation. For example." Zillah turned briefly and tossed more balls into the basket, landing all three and gaining a second plush and a bracelet. She held out the bat plush for Vaden. "Would you like it?"
Vaden nodded to the other Geist. He could definitely see the resemblance between the two. "Very nice to meet you, Iah." he said nodding his head politely.
He looked back at Zillah and smiled at the little plushie. "Congrats, it's very cute." he smiled just a bit wider at her then shrugged a bit. "To be honest I was out on an unrelated errand to tonight, I was actually going to take advantage of the quiet and try to get through a book I've been reading and some questions I set for myself to answer on it." he gave an awkward half smile. "I'm a hard task master for myself." he said.
He chuckled a bit. "Practical experiments and logic puzzles were some of my instructors favorite exercises as well as finding the 'trick' to most seemingly easy tasks that were usually rigged to be not so simple." he shrugged a bit. "While I can figure out the trick most of the time, I am just incredibly unlucky as well."
He watched her play the game and had to admit he was very impressed with her ability and then was shocked when she offered him the little plush. "Ah, if you're sure." he said slight color rising to his cheeks. He had to admit he wasn't much in the habit of receiving gifts from pretty girls. "Thank you." he said taking it and putting it safely in the bag with Charo's food.
Smiling happily as she snaked her tail up and around to hug Gilby, Coralie was, by now, calm enough to walk with her family and slow things down a little. Which was good since their next stop was a modified darts game. Waiting patiently for her turn, the imp carefully aimed and threw the darts she was given. And though the Grand Prize balloon wasn't popped, she still got something for her troubles. Picking out a cute little ghost and cat plush, Coralie thanked the nightmare running the game and stood aside to let her family have a go.

Humming a little to herself as her new bat friend snuggled happily into her shoulder, Adelinde decided to stop at a booth that looked promising enough. All she had to do was spin a wheel to determine which treat she'd walk away with. Giving the wheel a spin, she waited as it whirled away and slowly came to rest at 'Candy Apple'.
Yummy. Selecting one, she carefully unwrapped it and began to nibble away. Why not, after all?

The balloon dart game looked fun enough and Ashlynn was pleased to see Coralie slow down a little and enjoy everything trick or treating had to offer. Nodding in approval as the imp took her turn and waited for the rest of them, Ashlynn stepped up quickly to take a handful of darts and launch them at the balloon board. Unlike Coralie, she didn't walk away with multiple goodies, but she did have the cutest bag of caramel eyeballs.

Zahneel had stopped by a random booth that seemed to consist purely of a large barrell with a sign stating 'Take One'. Shrugging a bit to herself she did as the sign commanded and was delighted to see that she'd pulled out a cute, little dark chocolate bat and not somethign gross. Resisting the urge to nibble at it, she put it into her bucket and continued on.

"Oh. We should give hera better name." Frostbite chewed on a claw, staring at the fox. It was gray like a cloud with blue bits. "Mommy, I like Stormy." He said, petting the fox. "C'mon, Stormy, lets go trick and treat more." the pup started to run off to the next house before stopping abruptly and looking back at Lerin.
"Oops, sorry, Mommy." He said, smiling widely. Not running was an issue for him sometimes, especially when he was being enticed by candy and new pets. Speaking of new pets, he noticed that his mom had somehow acquired a new bat. Nope, she definitely didn't like them. It was all Auntie Nasaiki. "Let's go, lets go!" he said, running back to pull on her arm, trying to run to the next house.
While he was trying to charge ahead, he didn't notice someone tossing a gummy poo in his basket; probably a good thing. He did notice a plush in the road. It was upside down and the pup snatched it up, happy with his prize.
As far as Binhdi was concerned, trick or treating was excellent fun. Even if the bright red gummy poo she'd been given made her want to wrinkle her nose in distaste. The things some people thought of as funny... Blurgh. She'd paused to consider which way to head next when a tiny chittering noise caught her attention. Glancing around, she saw a nezubat fluttering around her, attracted either by her perfume or her brightly colored costume.
"Well, hey there, li'l dude. Wanna join me?"
She hadn't expected any kind of answer, but the bat had evidently liked the tone of her voice because it continued to flutter around her and chirp. Apparently, she'd made a friend without really trying.

"Oh, alright, alright. We'll leave the headmistress alone, I guess. It sounds like any prank wouldn't go well if you did all of that to the inside of her house." Kie said, shaking their head. Honestly they didn't realize how hard it had been to catch the pumpka at the headmistress's house. They didn't want to get into too much trouble...they might never be allowed out on Halloween again!
"Yes, yes. More candy and plushies and fun!" Kie agreed. They saw someone pull out one of the poos and stare at it in disgust. Putting on their very best innocent look, they walked up to the older nightmare. "Can I have it if you don't want it? I love gummy candy!" They chirped, smiling a wide, sweet smile at the Nightmare.
"I dunno, Phe, I think he's more afraid of the pumpka chasing him than Korv at the moment." Kie watched the drama unfold before heading over to them. Maybe they could get their own pumpka to jump in front of the black one? Well, it was a nice thought, but the shrieking had startled a second pumpka that flew at their face. Kieran caught the thing before it could get them, but it definitely looked unhappy at the shrieking one as well.
Korvau was glad that Willow wasn't resisting him. As cool as that pumpka was, the screeching was starting to get really scary... He did of course pause to stare at the spectrefox that Nex had found. Oh, how cool! He papped Nex with his free hand, then grabbed his hand again (with the hand that he was holding his pail with) and continued running. "WE GOTTA GET AWAY!"
Okay, the pumpka was really scary. Apparently some passing tried to distract it and threw a turnip their way, but somehow it just ended up in Korvau's pail. He'd look at it later! For now they had to get away!
He watched Tengu play, pleased that he'd done better than he had. Apparently sometime during his distraction, a couple of passing students had stuffed a turnip and a plush into his pail. He didn't notice them until after the game and mentally cursed himself for not being aware of his surroundings...
Apollo... That was settled, then. "If that's the name you like... I'm not a pet person, you take it." He nodded. "If you want it, that is."
Kirket snorted, she did have him there. Sort of. "Well. There are other ways to vent that don't involve showing aggression in front of small children." He papped her shoulder, then tried his hand at the game. Well... He wasn't nearly as aggressive about it and only scored himself a box of raisins. Raisins were okay, though!
"And yes, I do know. Hence why I told you to come!" He nodded and then moved aside for the next person to play. "That, and this is a good opportunity to get things for Maple, isn't it?" He grinned wide, tail wagging a little.
Ahhh still passing out sunflower seeds... He wondered what Leif was up to, or if the poor little thing was doing alright. A quick scan of the crowd brought no luck! Not one tiny Leif to be seen. Not that there would be more than one Leif... He continued on his way, not even noticing that a student had deposited some unwanted candy into his pail.
Someone had set up a bobbing for donuts game! How fun! And you got to eat the donut! Leif waited in line, watching the other students try to eat the donuts that were hanging on the strings without using their hands. How funny! Once it was his turn he stepped up to his own powdered donut and waited for the signal.
He successfully managed to get his donut eaten within a few seconds! Score! He held his pail out to the attendant and received a little ghost. Ooh, he'd have to show Mr. Dat-- his DAD. He was still getting used to that...
The games were fun! Andy finished up playing a round of "match-it" and won a little sugarskull. He wasn't sure he'd want to eat it... straight sugar wasn't really his forte, but it looked pretty! He continued on down the path until he ran into an older girl-- an imp. She didn't seem to be having a great time...
"Um-- excuse me..! Are you okay?" He blinked up at her, hoping it wasn't too rude to ask!
Gilby had giggled as Momma's tail looped around to hug them. They had giggled even harder when Momma had lifted them up so that they could throw darts at the balloons too. Smiling sweetly as they accepted the darts from the nice geist running the name, Gilby frowned in concentration and threw the darts as best as possible.
And it must have been good enough because the nice geist smiled and gave them a lollipop. It was so pretty that they almost didn't want to eat it later. Almost.

Ana frowned at her mother, completely confused why anyone wouldn't come out during Halloween. "Why?" She asked, hands going to her hips. It was a demanding pose; she wanted to know why any kid would refuse to come out or why someone would stop a kid from coming out during the best holiday ever.
"Why can't the orphanage kids come out during Halloween? That doesn't seem very fair, Mom." Ana continued, sounding almost like it was Madla's fault for not letting the kids out of the orphanage. The pup was so upset she even lashed her tail around, something she only did when she was truly upset over something. "Trick or treating is fun."
She was so focused on this new information, she missed when someone slipped a lollipop into her basket.
Madla looked at her daughter, realizing how oddly spoiled the girl was. Not in the way that she was rude or a brat...just that Anastara had never had to deal with xenophobia. Maybe 'spoiled' was the wrong word, 'sheltered' maybe was a better way to phrase it. Even as a hybrid, the girl just didn't run into bullies or even hear that being a hybrid is particularly weird. There were so many around now that no one gave her a second glance for being half geist and half grimm.
She had started the conversation, but how does one tell one's innocent daughter that some people discriminated against others just because they looked different. "Ana...some people are cruel, and they make fun of other people who are different. There are some children born every year that...they don't look like the rest of us." Madla sighed and shook her head. "I think the orphanage keeps these children inside during Halloween to protect them; there aren't enough caretakers to go around some years. Sometimes the kids get lucky and an open-minded nightmare will give them a home and take them trick or treating, but the vast majority just don't get to come out tonight."

Her heart fluttered a bit as he agreed with her, the color rising just a bit, but then fading a gain. Relax, Aella, just a perfectly normal day, with the boy you like, who has now seen you half naked...which is your fault, but live and learn. Thanks, brain. she internally sighed at herself.
She looked around, watching the crowd move past them and when she turned back, her eyes widened as he stretched out a hand to her. Ohgods! "S-sure!" she said, reaching out slipping her hand into his. His skin was cool to the touch, or maybe it was warm and she was hot? Impossible to tell, at least her hand wasn't sweaty!

Ivy decided to cut across to another line of booths and peered into them again. So many options, both for candy and toys, and even pets. She wondered how Willow was fairing in all this mess. Probably well. She paused at another stall and took the darts lying on the board and aimed at the balloons that were tacked to the back of the stall.
=================
The balloon she popped evidently gave her a choice of either a candy or caramel coated apple. Ivy frowned at them all before selecting one and getting it wrapped up so it wouldn't get all over everything else in her bucket. Well she liked apples, so that wasn't too bad.
