Why, Nyyrikki was just as nice in person as he had seemed online! And he didn't mind how she looked. In fact, he even complimented her! Did he not realize that she was a member of the undead? Maybe not. Her eyes turned to glance at all the couples, so many interracial ones at that. Could it be that a lot of the students were seeing one another as equals? Of course, a few seemed to stick to their own races but Halloween Town wasn't built in one day, was it?
"Thank you," she finally replied, breaking her gaze from the beautiful couples in the room. She still wished she had worn something nice. She wanted to be one of the pretty girls hanging on the arm of a handsome boil. She wondered if he wanted to dance and that thought made her even more nervous. Few knew her secret, that it had taken her months of practicing to learn to walk properly on two legs. She had traveled purely on all fours for most of her unlife, leaping from place to place much like a frog. What would happen if she had to dance on them? Would she trip and fall? Break an ankle? There were so many horrifying possibilities.
She felt sad when Shine left. She didn't want her friend to spend the party alone. Perhaps she could reunite with her later and make sure she was having a good time. Everyone should be smiling tonight.

OnionGrump This was just getting frustrating! He must have circled the dance floor about three times and still nothing! Was she really in the crowd...? He hoped not. It was super crowded in there and even if she was, how was he supposed to find her? Heaving a sigh, he was about ready to call it quits, when something walked right into him. A little something, but with enough force to nearly knock him off his feet.
"Oof! The hell was tha---" He wrapped an arm around his stomach before looking down at the source of his new pain; only to recover almost instantly. Mood as well. "Chuppi! I was beginning to think that I was never going to find you!" He exclaimed. "Sorry I couldn't get here sooner... I kind of got lost... and..." He paused before taking a good look at Chuppi. He was so used to seeing her in her usual clothing or her track uniform that the dress was enough to stun him momentarily.
"You--wow Chuppi... You look really pretty tonight."
(( aahh... Can't roll yet. Seeing as Tybalt only just encountered Chuppi OTL )) Chuppi's natural reaction at seeing Tybalt, every time they encountered one another, was a hug - and this time she acted no different. Small arms wrapped around Tybalt's frame as the chupacabra gave him her usual welcoming geustyre, though when the boil started to talk and even complimented her the monster let go and backed up a bit, blushing. She hadn't really dressed up just for him, but it certainly didn't hurt to hear him think she was pretty. Of course now she had to stay in control of her feelings and not be stupid and blurt things out.
"Re...really? Thank you. I think you are good in your track clothes - if I had known we could have dressed to match."
There was a light chuckle in the monster's voice and a smile on her face, her delight over the evening very apparent. It was only then that she remembered that she'd signed the two of them up for the dance contest and she felt it was a good a time as any to mention the fact. Chuppi really hoped that Tybalt wouldn't mind.
"Um . . I...signed us up for the dance contest, because I thought it would be fun. I hope you don't mind?"
She stared down at her feet before looking up and holding a hand out, indicating that she was either going to lead or follow. She was acting pretty brazen!

Attention.Riley's voice once more filled every mind in the room. The second round of the Dance Contest is now open to contestants who have passed the first round. This does not mean the first round is over. Those of you who are still waiting for your partners, or have yet to sign up and join us, may still do so on the left side of the dance floor. So basically, you're just trying to beat everybody else. There is also extra credit! Everyone whose roleplay is actively interacting with a different couple or single, gets one extra point! (For couples, you get one point for either of you doing so, you don't get two if you both do it though.) You think that point won't matter in the long run? Go ahead, take your chances then! What do you mean, actively interacting?!You're competing with these boils and ghouls, act like it! Dance around them, crack a joke, or if you'd rather be positive and friendly, compliment them! ANY kind of interaction will warrant your extra point - and you do not need a REACTION from them to get your point. Your interaction is enough! But wait, there's more! There is a hidden action that will warrant you an extra point! What could it be? It is a mystery~ And anyone who does it wins an extra point for their team! Want a hint? Round 2 Arachne felt a slight uplift in her mood; it felt good to have won something that she didn't even know she had a talent for, and she drifted to the right side of the dance floor as Riley had asked them to. It was weird to have the words go directly into her mind, but she had seen the ghoul and obviously she wouldn't be speaking.
She drifted near to where Elizabeth was with the boil she had come with and gave her a nod and a smile.
'Well done for getting through.' she said, still slowly swaying, feel the music now from head to toe. She was, to put it in words, enjoying herself for once.

ROUND 2 FIGHT
Out of the corner of Jericho's eyes, he saw a few of the dancers fumble about the dancefloor. He was rather glad that he wasn't stumbling around either, and at the start he really wasn't doing so bad.
As he moved around with Lizzy, he was guiding them towards where Sepheran and Tess were unconsciously. It just happened to be the direction he was headed here.
"Sorry.. not really all that great with this," he offered a little nervously before attempting to spin her around. The dragon didn't really know how to do this, but he was going off of what he's seen.

ROUND 2
Awkward and going with the flow would be the best way to describe the situation she was in. Not to mention the color of her face was probably starting to match the shade of her partner's hair.
Heels clicked against the dance floor as she moved with Jericho according to Riley's instructions; it was a miracle the two hadn't done anything to trip over each other, not that she was complaining. At his comment, she looked up and chuckled softly, "Well, all things considered, you're a natural, really."
His nervousness wasn't really helping her relax, but she realized what he was about to do and let go of his shoulder (Arm ache, arm ache! Why must he be so tall? Or rather, why was she so short?), balancing on a foot as she spun- and narrowly missing holding onto the dragon after the turn.
"Oops..." She muttered before glancing up, realizing that the Spiderkin was speaking to her. Her blush darkened, and she dipped her head in greeting, "Arachne! You're an awfully good dancer. Ah! This is Jericho..."
What an odd place to do introductions, but... Ah.

ROUND ONE MOTHAFATHA
Clearly. Clearly Holly didn't wear her pajamas all the time. Who knew? Certainly not West. He opened his mouth a crack, poised to pelt a thoroughly scathing chunk of mockery at the fox ghoul, but thankfully he was distracted by the return of Tsetsiliya. Dancing. Right. Now who was going to be mocked. Still, the hilarious shock of seeing Holly in a dress currently overpowered any shame he felt about the fact that his sense of rhythm was and probably always would be in the toilet.
"Nope," West replied. The laughter that had threatened to bubble over in reaction to Holly's dress was still present and it colored his response, making him seem happier about the prospect of dancing than he actually was. "Not interruptin'. Holly, uh, I'll b'back."
West offered Tset his arm once more and led her to the dance floor. "Now'ai can't dance'r nothin', but dun worry. If any'n'makes funna us I'll kick their asses." Reassuring? Probably not.
Once he was close to the center of the dance floor, West held out his hands, positioning them on Tset's person like he had seen on Dancing with the Bizarre. A couple of shimmies and a handful of hops later, the demon found that not only was he still upright, but he wasn't doing half bad. Surprising, but not entirely unpleasant. Perhaps he could claim he was drunk or something if anybody asked.

Rolling for round 1
Tybalt almost snorted at her comment about the track uniform. "Ehh... Actually I didn't know I was going to be wearing this until last minute." He admitted; scratching his cheek with his finger. It was true. He had tried to find something more suitable, but everything else he had was in need of a good clean. At least it was Chuppi at the dance with him. He had a feeling if it was any other ghoul, they would have torn a strip off of him for having shown up in something other than formal clothing. Which Chuppi had not. Even so, he felt a little bad and was about to apologize when she mentioned something about the dance.
"Eh? Dance? You sure?" He asked a little nervously. "I mean, sure I'll dance but... I'm not very good at it." He warned, before taking her hand and leading her to the dance floor.
Now that he was actually up here with all the other couples, he was getting a little idea bit of an idea of what to do. Or so he hoped. It was his first time ever at a dance, so he really didn't have any clue as of what to do at all. But if Chuppi wanted to dance, he was more than willing to try. He only hoped he wouldn't screw up too badly.

ROUND 2
All good things must come to an end and for Morrigan, it came rather quickly. She took a step forward to dance against Christof again but the heels of her shoes finally snapped off from the pressure of her earlier dance. Instead of dancing against her partner, she fell against his chest, wrapping her arms around his neck in a last quick effort to keep herself from falling to the ground.
She felt like crying. How could she have gone from doing so well to doing so badly? She couldn't even bring herself to raise her face to meet Christof's eyes. She had failed them. Instead, she turned and glared at Arachne's perfect moves, daring to stick her tongue out at the demon before quickly darting it back in. She instantly regretted the action, burying her face deep into Christof's neck to hide from the shame she felt. Her fellow demoness had deserved praise for an excellent performance, not her jealousy.

'Is this one your boilfriend then?' Arachne asked, attempting to move her feet some more, it seemed for the moment she could do now wrong on the dance floor, so maybe she could let loose?
She put her hands on her hips, and circled them, dropping down as she bent her knees and popping up again, raising her arms in the air and spinning as she stood again, then dropped down again, feeling the rhythm the whole time..she had a thought that if she had a partner maybe she could even more things but for now she was doing well on her own.
As she turned again, she caught the look and small show of rudeness from the ghoul who had been dancing with Christof..what was that about?

Jericho tried to steady Lizzy as she came out of the spin, seeing her nearly fall over because of that. Looking to the side, he saw the demon that he mistakened as Tess earlier on. Apparently her name was really Arachne, and she was really good at this dancing thing as far as he could tell.
Nodding to her in greeting, his golden eyes soon widened as she mistook him as Lizzy's boilfriend.
"Wh-what?" he stammered out partially due to the surprise. Was it the way they were dancing?
"N-no. I'm not anyone's boyfriend," he said in an attempt to clarify things.

ROUND 2
Sin, Barth decided, was a very good dance partner. He kept his steps careful, carouseling in gentle circles through the other carousers and making one long circumambulation about the room. Their course conjured comfort, for the counsel's consideration.
There wasn't much variation from the last round, but part of the dance's appeal was the lack of surprises. He executed a steady dip, and a slow twirl.
Consistency.

"I was not being submissive," Ren replied, somewhat peevishly, to Gabrian as they moved further into the room. "I was being normal. Besides, you started it."
That was a rather childish way of dealing with things, but considering what had happened up in his room earlier...well, Ren wasn't exactly feeling all that mature at the current moment. His mind was already working to figure out a devious plan to get back at the nix - which he would. Soon. Somehow.
"I am not SULKING," he said - sulkily - turning bright red when Gabrian leaned closer. "WHO enjoyed WHAT exactly? HMMM?"
Ren would have probably said more, but he swallowed back the snarky reply he was going to say, instead letting the nix take him by the wrist and tug him towards the ghouls, the pair stopping briefly when Gabe found the dance sign up sheet. "Nerd," he said, but there was nothing mean behind his words, and Ren was smirking. He rather wanted to sign up himself, but that would depend on Alessa.
"WHO released WHO?" he said, casting what he hoped was a withering stare at Gabrian. "I never said I released you - "
Ren trailed off, eyes landing on the two ghouls. Who looked...well...
"Jacking hell, you two look incredible," he blurted out, and then grinned somewhat sheepishly, reaching a hand up to rub the back of his neck, his face tinged a light pink. "Sorry. That was loud. But, really. You both look...amazing."
Leaning down, Ren pressed a quick kiss to LW's cheek, patting her on the head and giving her a wink. "What did I tell you, hmmm?" he said, voice low. "Stunning." He still had to give her that thing, but he'd do it a bit later.
Ren turned to Alessa, tilting his head. He could tell from her expression that he was probably in trouble for messing around with Gabrian instead of escorting her to the dance like he should have, but his mind was still stuck on the fact that she looked...
"You," said Ren softly, stepping close and taking her hands in his and ducking his head to give her a quick kiss. " - look absolutely beautiful.
"Come on, darling," he said, tugging her forward with a laugh. "Let's dance."
Ren and Alessa will be dancing like we've never danced before!

ROUND 2
Sin smiled at Barth's slow movement, but again it felt nice, not rushed or frantic. Their bodies were relaxed and because of that their dancing seemed more fluid and natural. He stepped, she stepped, he swept, she dipped, and on and on. It didn't feel so much like a competition, but Sin glanced over and saw Arachne dancing like a star! She was about to throw her a compliment when she saw Morrigan stick her tongue out. Petty squabbles among the major arcana? That would not do! She shot Morrigan and frown and shook her head.
"Be nice Morri!" She called over softly and then saw how mortified her friend had looked at her heel snapping. "Don't worry everyone knows you're an amazing dancer, a wardrobe malfunction hardly steals that from you."
She turned back to Barth and swept back a few steps to twirl under his arm and then came back up against him. "You know Barth, you're quite a fair dance partner."

At around the same time Jericho started to deny the claims, Lizzy had an expression on that was a mixture of shock and... Too shock for words. She just shook her head rather quickly, mouth opening before she shook her head again; nooo. She's still single! Single!
"N-n-no!" She finally found her voice, looking like she could start flailing at any moment now, "Amrita - a friend won him in the auction and decided we should come together!" The last part of her sentence was drawn out in a soft whine as she turned even redder - if that was even possible.
Spotting Christof at the side - with his date who made a rather rude gesture at Arachne - she lowered her head slightly to stare at Jericho's feet, rather embarrassed; what was that dance? Didn't Riley say to keep it clean? Or was she simply too conservative?
