Demetri shook his head at Fester's antics, but smirked in amusement, nonetheless. Again, he paced towards his seat, sitting and glancing at the looking glass. It perturbed him that Jethrow could be preparing anything at the moment, but of course the powerful wizard had set a protective spell on himself, and even the castle of Mesilici, to prevent his brother's watchful eyes. I must have left too strong a trace after I ceased watching the demons... Either that, or when he realized who was behind all this, he chose to establish several protective measures. Though his own ego was leaning heavily towards the latter option, Demetri could not count out that Jethrow was intelligent and powerful. It was quite likely that he, Demetri, had left some trace behind that he'd been scrying the castle. If that was the case, then he knew he'd have to be much more careful... Jethrow wouldn't let mistakes pass him by without seizing the opportunity.

At last, the darkness of unconsciousness, and the tightness of lack of oxygen drove Anya to find a means of escape. She ceased her full struggles, instead closing her eyes and mustered what little strength there was left in her. She could feel her mind beginning to slip to sleep, and she shook her head violently, ignoring the pounding headache that was developing with the latest development. Fire...Fire, she chanted to herself in her head, immediately having chosen against trying to uncover new and more creative methods of getting free. She pictured that there was fire all around, and slowly her skin began to heat up wherever the dragon's coils wrapped around her. There was no fire, and the heat was barely above her average body temperature. Squeezing her eyes against the pounding in her head, she pictured a full-blazing fire, as if she were being burned alive. Tiny, but warm, sparks began to dance across the same, previously warm, areas. The sparks began to catch, and soon, patches of flame sprung up on her, not harming her, however.

Jethrow heard Luke coming back, and nodded as well to the siblings. He held out the two tumblers he'd poured for them and quickly stirred the potion once more. "As soon as you've finished that, quickly hand the glass back to me so I can fill your second dosage. After the second glass, sit down or lay down so you aren't injured when your consciousness fades. It will be much like falling asleep suddenly, and you won't see nor feel anything for a few moments. The darkness should clear away sooner rather than later, and you'll find yourself in another dimension. Do not move. Even if you can see someone, like Anya, do not move. It's quite likely that we will join the dimension where Demetri resides with whatever familiars he may have. I'm unsure how the prison has changed since I set the boundaries, and I would prefer to navigate it together." After his explanation, he waved to the two women who were standing to the right of him, and they came forward, ready to take the first shift of watching over the three's bodies while their essences were elsewhere.

Fester watched the little fairy try to summon her fire. He mused at the little sparks, flicking and snapping at them. He was a dragon. What harm would fire do against such a mighty creature as himself. Of course he shared the same inflated ego as his master had.

Luke nodded at Jethrow's instructions. Both siblings took the tumblers and downed them quickly to give Jethrow time to pour the second dose.

Demetri's intuition had always been one of his stronger points, and his gut feelings were roiling around. For a moment, he wondered if perhaps either Fester or Anya had killed the other. Disaster would be the consequence of either situation, and quickly, he looked over towards the dragon and the girl. There was some fire going on, from the looks of it it came from the fairy-demon. However, both seemed very much alive. So what is it that's bothering me? he thought irritably, standing and pacing again. There were several things that could be bothering him, yes. One being his current situation of a weak apprentice. Jethrow had done a thorough job in keeping her powers at bay, and it would take quite a bit of training to keep those powers under control, while still building them up to a satisfactory level. No, that wasn't it; he'd prepared himself to work hard to defeat his brother. After all, he'd been imprisoned for centuries. Something's about to happen...

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream.

Anya wasn't able to think clearly at all, her oxygen having been cut off and her strength drastically withering. The fire that she'd managed to produce began to die back to a warm heat, and her head hung down as she finally fell into a world of unconsciousness. With all her fighting strength gone, a memory came back to her, the very memory she'd been hiding the whole time. The same old event; her brother and her listening at the vent as her father talked to his twin... Except that now, she no longer had the power to block the sound from this replay. A heated argument began playing, as the two men argued about one thing: the demon kingdom and the throne. Was it to go to one of them? One of Anya's father's children? Her uncle stood and insisted that one of his children had to have demonic powers; they couldn't all be completely fairy. Stubbornly, her father insisted that none of them exhibited demon characteristics. Angrily, her uncle stormed from the room, stomping up the stairs in a manner that attracted Anya's older siblings to leave their rooms as well. The four siblings stood together as their uncle ordered them...

Jethrow administered the second doses of the potion quickly, nodding to Luke and Lunora each as he did so. He filled his own first tumbler, swallowing the concoction quickly. Just as he filled his glass with the second, the door of his study, which had been open a crack, creaked, informing Jethrow that he had a visitor. The strange creature that had been in Anya's room clambered in. The wizard raised his eyebrow. The thing had been the size of a small pony last seen, now, it was the size of a large horse. The long, irridecent wings that had developed were tugged against its back, and it nodded its head respectfully towards Jethrow, rather than jumping up and down. Wizard, I ask that I may accompany you three. The wizard paused in surprise. The trait of speaking to others through mental messages was a highly rare one, typically found in powerful dragons and unicorns. Any questions you may have will be answered in due time, but for now, allow me to come, as well, please. What is left of the potion after that glass should be enough for my two doses. "Very...Very well," Jethrow agreed in confusion, stepping aside and letting the creature put its snout into the cauldron, quickly lapping up what was left as the wizard downed his second glass, sitting in his favorite arm chair and watching as the dragon-like creature settled itself on the ground before his eyes closed and the blackness came upon him.

Fester, pleased with incapacitating Anya, dropped her onto the block she had been on, careful to make sure she didn't fall off. He then slithered away to enjoy himself.

The siblings had drank their second dose and were already laying next to each other, consumed by the darkness the potion had thrust them into.

Demetri shook his head at Fester, briefly distracted by his amusement with the dragon. Sighing, he walked down a set of steps that appeared as he moved, stopping on the block Anya had been left on. He crossed his arms at the unconscious child, and was suddenly bombarded with a memory, Shaking his head, he closed his eyes, realizing that her mind was still being channeled to his. The memory was dark and hazy, as a result of Anya's state, but he was able to see the people in the room. There were the children of that fairy and demon pair, and the other demon. Yes, there was no doubt that that man was the one who'd been trapped with him once inside the dimension. Demetri had asked if he'd heard of Jethrow, and he'd heard that this man's niece was a student of his. Yes... This is perfect, Demetri thought as he pulled himself from the mind of the fairy-demon. This was the proof he needed; the proof he'd need to convince the child of just what she could do. With a satisfied expression, he carefully knelt by the fairy-demon, making sure her breathing was still even. There was always a risk involved when Fester got physical in his torture. Shaking his head, he picked her up, looking over his shoulder in the direction the dragon had disappeared. "Next time, be more careful!"

Anya's memory began to blacken, and the image faded just as it moved on to a darker, more vivid memory. The image may have disappeared, but she could still hear the sounds. It started with a fight, as usual, as her father argued with her uncle. No; the children would not be sent to the demon kingdom. They would not learn to control demon powers. Her mother began to cry, and the fighting escalated. There was a loud noise as the door was kicked off its hinges. Feet pounded the ground, and there were screams ringing in Anya's ears. There seemed to be a sudden, eerie pause... A silence that covered everything else. Her father's voice came out, commanding and strong as he ordered that the people who had come in leave. He then threatened that if they should return, or come close to any of his family again, he would not hesitate to kill them all in gruesome, torturous ways. After that, the room was quiet but for the footsteps that left the home.

Jethrow had long ago mastered the art of dimension travel. The suffocating black was easy enough to wait through. Bit by bit, his body began to feel less numb, and he began to feel real. Soon enough, light returned to his mind. He opened his eyes, finding himself in a sitting position due to the chair he'd been seated in. Luke and Lunora were also already there, and slowly, the creature began to fade into existence. Standing, the wizard leaned heavily on his staff, though he felt stronger than ever. His brother would no doubt have kept track of his age; it was better to ham up the part and play on Demetri's ego rather than attempt to impress him with sudden strength from the start. He looked around, unable to see anything but endless blocks, though he had that feeling that whatever he was looking for was right behind him. The dragon-like creature blinked its eyes, standing carefully and rolling its shoulders.

Fester hissed just a little as an apology, before stopping his hiss and sniffing the air. There was something different in their world, yet pleasingly familiar. Th dragon quickly slithered to Demetri, curling around his shoulders. 'My lord. We have visitors.'

Luke and Lunora looked to Jethrow. "So where do we go from here?" Luke asked lowly to the old wizard. He just saw blocks. Lots and lots of blocks.

Demetri looked up at Fester, raising his eyebrows quizzically. "Visitors? Hm, I suppose I'll attend to this matter myself. Fester, take Anya. There should be a block approximately two miles out that I constructed for her visit. Leave her there, and try not to do anymore damage," he said with a smirk, glancing down at the sleeping expression of the girl he held. He had a hunch that her teacher and friends had come looking for her, and that was exactly what Demetri wanted. After all, what was a good kidnapping without the exciting hunt? Not to mention, he would need to instill the fear in Jethrow and company of just what this wizard could do from an alter dimension. He wondered briefly what happened to that dragon creature he'd created to bring the dimension stone into Anya's grasp. It probably ran away...

Jethrow nodded in approval as the siblings came to. "I can sense the power that Demetri has acquired and I know the general direction we should follow, but I'm relying on your keen eyes, as mind are old, and not fit for this world. The first sign that we're getting closer will be when these simple black blocks begin to develop traits. Particularly black bushes and ornate stones; those were always suited more to Demetri's tastes," he said, looking briefly at the creature. "Is there a name we can call you, young one?" the wizard inquired. Yes. You three may call me Searan; it is what Anya named me before she disappeared, he said, his words ringing through the three companions' heads.

Fester nodded and gently took Anya up in his large teeth. He gently held her, as the serpent made his escape to the designated block.

Luke looked to Searan and pet him a bit. "I remember you. You got big... fast." the wolf mused. This was fast indeed. Once out of this dimension, Luke silently vowed to himself, to study Searan in depth.

Lunora watched her brother and smirked. "Having your study fantasy again, brother?"

This made Luke blush. "Shut up."

Demetri nodded approvingly as Fester took Anya, and he crossed his arms, raising the height of the block he was on. He built great, stone walls, creating almost the site of a ruined castle around him. Weapons then began to lodge themselves in various places. He was sure he wouldn't need to resort to such barbaric methods, but he could never know for sure whether he might want a poisoned arrow for the final death blow against the man who had frowned upon him for all his life. He smirked, and added a great flickering wall of fire around the back of the ruins Once his opponents were on the battle grounds, they'd all be surrounded as such. Come and get me, Jethrow. Come and get me you old geezer. Eternal youth was one of those forbidden techniques that Demetri had mastered long ago. He would always look no older than nineteen, whereas Jethrow, who was over four thousand years old by now, would age and age until he a was only a wrinkle and dying.

There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing.

Jethrow sighed at the antics of the siblings. Any other occasion and he would have laughed, but for the moment, his humor was eroded beyond the point of funniness. "We should start moving," Jethrow said with a sigh, beginning his slow walk. The creature-Searan-walked beside the wizard, his shoulder out as a support should he need it. "Thank you young one," the wizard said. Anya spoke highly of you, wizard. I will stand by you during this as she cannot.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 18, 2010 4:25 pm

Fester soon dropped Anya on the block he had come to, yet the dragon thought. He started to gather up more blocks, forming a small prison around Anya and sealing the blocks in place with his dark fire. The stray flames and heat didn't affect Anya, but it made all the blocks one, trapping her in a little cage.

The siblings nodded, Luke heading beside Jethrow and Searan, Lunora also keeping up. Both kept their demonic senses alert for any sign of others.

They came to the end of the block, and Jethrow stared at the gap between the blocks, creating stairs there. Being the creator of the dimension, he had the ability to manipulate the building of it. They trekked on in such a way, block after block, until the blocks began to change. One held an ornate black throne and large, thorny rose bushes. Another had flickering black flames, and a third was made of a snake pit. "We're getting closer," Jethrow said, eying the ruined castle walls that he could see from a distance. The power emanating from it was clearly Demetri; this was where his brother would battle him. But there was no sign of Anya there. It would be cruel to send Searan to search for Anya; he is still young and has no powers to speak of. The wizard looked at the other three one by one, and shook his head. Why had he let them come?

"I will have my revenge."

User Image
Demetri frowned in impatience. He knew that Jethrow and his demons were coming, but at such a slow rate? Clearly, the wizard had gotten older than Demetri had anticipated. This terrain is too convenient for me to leave it. I've built it for my own fighting tactics, but he's taking such sweet time! Pacing like an angry animal, Demetri was finally fed up. He raised his hand, and the block he stood on lifted itself, flying over other blocks to land before Jethrow and his companions. Much to his surprise, the creature he'd magically manipulated stood by Jethrow's shoulder, a determined look on its face. Quite unexpected, but this shouldn't be a problem. "Welcome you three," he said in a mocking tone, smirking at the collection. "I knew you couldn't let your little student disappear without finding her again."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 18, 2010 5:47 pm

Fester, happy with his newly constructed prison, laid down on top of it and decided a nap was in order.

Lunora studied Demetri. "I was expecting someone a little more handsome."

Demetri frowned at the cocky demon-girl. "And I thought you'd be strong enough to not get sick after a little bit of mind games. I suppose you're just a weakling, though, who relies on her brother to protect her," he said with a shrug and a smirk, clearly challenging the two demons to come at him. Jethrow was sure to want to take Demetri down on his own, so the other two could search for Anya. "If you're here for the kid, you're too late. I don't believe you'll find her anywhere around here." The key to a good bluff: don't bluff. He'd learned that if you say the truth, just not the whole truth, then it all came out so believable. And he needed to be believable if he was going to bait the three into a battle.

"You wanna repeat that, pretty boy?!" Lunora snapped, showing her fiery nature.

Luke did not give in to such mockings as his sister did, but he let her exercise her pent up temper.

"Which part? The part where I alluded to the fact that you have a weak mind, if not body, or the part where I alluded to the fate of your friend? I can see how either might upset you. However, I have no time for immature children. Jethrow, brother, how have you been? Spoken to mother? Explain to her why her sons aren't happy with each other?" he called tauntingly.
