.:Leave it to me! (and Tilly... she would say that... with a thumbs up. biggrin ) :.
Kendra gave a content sigh as she walked to her mail box and pulled out the mail that had been shoved into the small box. She glared at the metal retainer and cursed at the person who had crumpled her papers. Even if they were all bills she still hated them to have wrinkles.
She searched through the envelopes as she made her way back up the stairs. It was her attempt at excersizing (sp). It had worked... along with a strict diet, and had helped her get back into shape. Along with biking to school, she had gotten better than she was before and her muscles had gained a tone she had been unfamiliar with. She felt so healthy.
She paused as she pulled a black and orange envelope. She smiled to herself. It was the disk she had been waiting for. She didn't have much time to play games but she always bought them just in case. Her thoughts drifted to Logan. He had plenty of time on his hands and she was sure he was bored most of the time.
A smile spread across her face as she entered her apartment. "That's it! I'll lend him my 360! " She gathered her items and piled them into a box. With a whistle upon her lips she walked to Logan's door and wrapped upon its wooden face twice before standing there with a gleeful smile planted firmly upon her lips.
.: And she can help him set things up and they can get having a drink afterwards when his brother comes over. So,... they will just be sitting and talking and laughing. :.

((Reminds me of Sybil from the story I just read....which I have to tell you about, by the way. It made me happy and sad at the same time...))
Logan's head lifted from the couch at the sound of the knock at his door. 'Who could that be...?' he wondered to himself as he grabbed the remote for the TV and switched it on mute. On it was some TV show with a bunch of doctors swarming around some dying patient. Some drama, more or less. It was on....so he had began watching it.
He limped over to the door, his cast making a thudding sound against the ground as he walked. He looked through the peep hole first before quickly opening the door. "Kendra, what a pleasant surprise," he said with a slight grin. "And to what do I owe the pleasure?"

Kendra had done well at acting normal since she had spoken those words. Her heart wasn't doing her health any good though since every time she saw him it would skip a beat.
"Oh nothing much. I just figured you were bored and I got a new video game today so I thought maybe, since I don't really have that much time, you might like using my system for however long you liked. I could help you hook it up. I have plenty of games too! There's all sorts in here and I have more I could bring over.... ah...I'm sorry. I've talked too much."
Her face flushed slightly as she looked down at the contents of the big box she held in her hands. She felt so stupid.

Logan laughed, a smile on his face. It wasn't a fake laugh, either. It was genuine.
He shook his head and waved his hand. "No, no, it's fine. Come on in," he said as he moved out of her way. Surprisingly, since that one day, he had felt his feelings grow for her. Feelings, well, his friendship. Yeah, his friendship. He thought he felt embarrassed initially, but he began to realize more and more how much he enjoyed her company.
"Do you want me to get that?" he asked, holding his good hand out for the box in her hands. His left arm was still in a sling. He was no longer wearing the bandage over his left eye, however. Even then, he would pause and take a second look in the mirror when he spotted his reflection. He was used to it, for the most part, otherwise. He was just curious how other people would take it....mainly his class.

"Oh no, I'm fine. I wouldn't want to hinder you. But if you could direct me to your TV that would be much appreciated."
She took a few steps towards the center of the room and looked to him with a smile. Everything just seemed so natural to her. His laugh,... hi smile. It was so comforting. And he didn't seem to have any negative effects from what she had said and that made her even happier.

Logan nodded, shutting the door behind her. He walked into his living room and immediately shut his TV off. He didn't particularly want Kendra thinking that he watched hospital drama, romances all day long.... He placed the remote back down on the table and glanced back to her.
"I don't know what the thing needs. The last time I set up a video game system it was my brother's NES or something to that nature....I wasn't that much of a gamer when I was a kid..."

Kendra smiled as she walked over the TV and started setting it up.
"Its not all that hard but you don't have to worry about it, I've got it under control~!"
She shot a smile over her shoulder before going back to hooking the console up. It didn't take long before it was finished and she had explained how it all worked.
"Its simple once you get used to the controller. Its a tad more... elaborate than the NES was."

Logan chuckled. "Well I assumed," he said with a smile as he slowly sat down on the couch.
"So you're just lending me your games so I don't die of boredom? How very sweet of you." He smiled before a thought struck him. "Do you want something to drink? Or eat?" He pushed himself up as he spoke. He was getting slightly more nimble with his injuries, though he still couldn't wait to get his cast off.

Kendra was about to refuse when it occurred to her that she was parched.
"A glass of water would be lovely if you could," she called from her sitting position on the floor. She sat there patiently, playing with the controller in her hands as she leaned against the front of the couch.
She looked up and watched him as he went to the kitchen. She looked down at herself and realized how low cut her shirt was. Ah well, she thought, it doesn't matter.

Logan wobbled into the kitchen and pulled out two glasses. He went to the fridge, put some ice in them and then filled them with water. He then hobbled back to the living room, glad he didn't fill them too full or he would have spilled. He handed Kendra the one in his right arm since he could actually reach some length with that one.
"Here you are," he said before taking a seat. "If you want anything else just let me kn-"
He was interrupted by a knock at the door. He looked up, confused. Who would be coming over? Kendra was already there. Who else visited him? Unless it was David making an unexpected visit but....he wasn't sure.
He set his cup down on a coaster on the coffee table before painfully getting to his feet again. "With all this getting up after sitting down, I'm bound to get my strength up soon..." he muttered with a slight laugh.
When he got to the door, he didn't bother looking to see who it was and just opened the door. He immediately regretted that decision.
Silence.
Outside stood a man, at least four or five years Logan's senior standing there. He was just about Logan's height with short cut brown hair. A look of surprise was on his face as he looked from Logan's face down to his arm sling then to his leg.
"Matthew..." Logan finally broke the silence. "What...what are you doing here?"
"What the hell happened to you?" the so-called Matthew replied.
Logan shook his head, still looking somewhat shocked. "N-nothing...I got in an accident. What are you doing here?"
"You got in an accident? And you didn't tell mom? Gawd, Logan, what are you doing these days?" Matthew said, shaking his head in mock disgust. "She doesn't know that you...you broke your leg and....What the hell's wrong with you eye? How does that even happen? I mean, hell, brother, you look like s**t."
"For a doctor you have an awfully dirty mouth," Logan commented, rather unamused.
"I mean, seriously?" Matthew continued without a second thought. "Your, what, probably blind now, right? How the hell do you rationalize not telling your own mother about that? You know she's gonna be pissed."
Logan sighed and bent his head forward. "I'm aware of my situation, thank you," he said, irritation obvious in his voice. "I didn't want to tell mother because I know she would get so worried about it. She probably wouldn't trust me to drive for another ten years or so. And even then...-"
"So your girlfriend takin' care of you or what?"
Logan stopped. He hadn't told anyone that they had broken up either....Oh Matthew was going to have a field day.... "Well...we're not really dating anymore..."
"You broke up with her?" Matthew asked, pulling his head back slightly. "Or wait, did she break up with you? Were you not putting out enough?"
"Shut up," Logan retorted. "It's none of your business what I do in my personal life because you obviously don't care unless it means that I'm being harmed in some way. So would you please tell me why you're here and just leave?"
((Feel free to reply...Matthew needs to notice Kendra somehow so....I figured she'd do something...>>))

Kendra pushed her self up from the floor slightly, both curious and worried for Logan. Who was that man? She set her cup down on the table near her as she shifted to her knees and sat upon the bottom of her heels in attempt to get a better view.
She hoped she wasn't seen and, upon later thought, decided not to move much more just in case she could be seen. Which,... she could... quite obviously... since Logan wasn't completely covering the door frame and the couch could be clearily seen from the hallway.

"Oh-ho-ho, little brother's getting testy," Matthew replied with a slight laugh. "Looks like I hit a sore spot."
"Why are you here?!" Logan growled, his voice angry beyond all shadow of a doubt.
"Well, this is my last weekend here and mother wanted me to....Oh? Who's this?" Matthew's head wobbled to one side as he looked around Logan at a certain girl sitting on his couch. A mischievous grin came onto his face. "Logan....I see how it is...."
Logan didn't look behind him but instead kept his stare focused on his brother. "Matthew, don't be getting any funny ideas-"
"You like 'em younger! That's why you wanted to be a teacher in stead of a doctor! I get it now!" Matthew practically laughed.
"Shut up, Matthew!" Logan yelled, his voice rising a few decibels.
"No, no, it all makes sense. That's why you were unhappy with your last girlfriend. She was too old for you. Admit it, you just like screwing high school girls."
"That's enough!" Logan shouted, his face twisted in anger. His voice echoed down the hall through the open door. "It's bad enough you come to my home not on your own free, not because you wanted to visit your brother, but because your mother told you to! But now you accuse me of such a thing? In front of her?! I can't even believe that you're my own brother!"

.: .... floooooooooor.... on the flooooooooor. biggrin :.
It all felt like a bad dream. The words being said to Logan. They were just terrible. And this was his brother speaking? Kendra didn't have any siblings but she couldn't imagine saying anything this disrespectful to them if she did have any. She pushed herself up from the floor, her face growing warm. How... how dare he?
She stormed over, her fists at her side. "What is your problem?" she said furiously, standing a little behind Logan. She moved around him slightly as she inched forward. "You come to see your little brother wounded and this is how you treat him? Do you even give a s**t about him? Let me guess, you're just another little mama's boy who thinks he's the next best thing since sliced bread."
She pressed her open palm against his chest and pushed slightly, her blond hair spilling over she shoulders. "News flash zippy, no one cares that you're a doctor. Heck, if it weren't for people like Logan you wouldn't have learned squat! So take your sorry a** home and cry to the only person who can actually stand to look at your sorry face without hurling."
She couldn't stand to see this man beat down on Logan. True, she couldn't deny anything between her and Logan simply because she would be putting all her hopes into a coffin and burring it deep in a slab of cement.

Matthew didn't seemed phased by Kendra's anger....at all. His smiled widened and he laughed. Out of anything he could do, he laughed. "Oh, so now you're defending him? That's great. You just don't want anyone else to know about it, I see how it is."
He grinned, his eyes flashing back to Logan for a moment before going back to Kendra. "Tell me, did he promise to give you an 'A' if you slept with him? And now you know that if anyone finds out, that you'll loose your A and probably get in some serious trouble yourself? Is that it?"
A sound emanated from the man's cheek as Logan's fist slammed against it. Hard. He wouldn't have been surprised if he had broken some bone with the pain that shot through his knuckles. But he didn't care. "Get out," Logan ordered, his fist returning to his side. "Get out now."
Matthew stood, stunned as a throbbing pain beat through his cheekbone. The punch had been so hard that his head had swung backward and his entire body had turned. He was bent over slightly, his hands coming to his face. His eyes were wide in shock and he couldn't seem to respond right away. Finally, he turned and looked at his brother, his eyes still wide, though anger began to take the place of surprise. "What the ********> he exclaimed, his hand still holding his jaw.
"Oh yeah, like you didn't see that coming," Logan growled. "You come here and insult me and my friend and you expect me not to do anything? This is my home and this is my life. I'm not going to let you ruin it. I've spent too many years putting up with your s**t because you were my brother. But you just crossed the line and I'm not going to deal with you anymore. Get out of my house. I never want to see your face again." With that, Logan slammed the door, despite the fact that Matthew still stood halfway inside of it. There was a thud as the wooden door hit his brother. There were a few more thuds as he stumbled backwards, cursing.
Logan just stood there, unable to move. He couldn't believe....that that had just happened. He couldn't believe his own brother would say such things. And he couldn't believe...
He turned to Kendra, a look of horror and apology coming to his face. "I am so sorry," he said, his voice taken on an urgent tone. "I am so very sorry you had to be here for that. I...I don't even know what to say. He's terrible. My brother.....I wish...we could forget that. Forget everything he said. He's a lier and a narcissist. He'll say anything if it makes him feel better. Honestly, I don't know how he even got into medical school with that attitude..."

Shock made her jump slightly as Logan's fist rammed into Matthew's face. She took a few steps back, not wanting to get hurt in whatever was going to come next. She couldn't lie to herself. Seeing that dirt bag getting smashed in the face practically made up for everything he had said. She has wanted to express her anger towards his comment. She would never sleep with someone for an A. In fact, she had worked the hardest out of the class so that they all got A's while she was chugging along with a low B. So good job mister, you hit the nail right on the head. Not. What a loser.
When the door slammed shut she was even happier that she had backed off. She didn't really want to get clipped by the swinging plank of wood. She smiled at the noise of him being hit and sent backwards. She looked over to see Logan facing her. His words were so kind and his expression made her melt. But she didn't share his thoughts. She just didn't care about any of that. Not right now anyway.
She turned to him and pulled his hand up to look at it, her fingers being as gentle as they could. All she cared about right now was making sure he didn't bust his hand. The skin was split slightly but there wasn't much blood.
"You come here and insult me and my friend and you expect me not to do anything?"
Friend. Yup. That's what she was. A bittersweet sadness came over her as she looked up at him. She had wanted to press her lips to his hand but a friend wouldn't do that. If she went and did everything she wanted to do... wouldn't she just be proving that guy's point? She couldn't do that to Logan. Not after what he had just done to defend her.
She smiled through her sadness and tried to show her worry more than the pain that yanked her heart strings. "You hurt yourself," she said simply.
