And thus is was in the room for more berating. This is why he should of told Faate no, and just stuck to that answer rather than changing his mind. Safe wasn't always the best. But he was starting to feel stressed and upset right now, and he was still a young boy, not even a teenager yet but he was trying to act tough and glare through his upset look. Even Faate was trying to protect him. Let's continue the lie. "I ran out of money and a warm bed is a lot better than camping out or a cold floor."

Walking to the crib, he lifted out his youngest and then set him and his sister on the bed, running a hand back through his hair in effort to gain some sort of control over that rising crazy that was bothering him of late. Let's focus on the child. "What was scary Lyssie?"

"Is that necessarily a bad thing though? You let mom get away with a lot and we both know you know what she's doing." Speaking of mother, a look toward the nearby wall where his mother was the next room over. She had been utterly scratching feeling over bonds almost constantly lately. "About an hour or so after dinner. Said she was going to check on me sometime to make sure I hadn't done anything stupid. How come they always think we're gonna do something stupid?"

Ah ha a use for these things! He wanted to play too...so as his father didn't need the banaging that was left over anymore...he took to wrapping it around himself...he had already gotten a leg done and kinda the opposite arm. Working on his head now...all in one connective line. Made him giggle though.

Zahara paused a moment, that was true. But something didn't ring true about it. Glancing between the two, she crossed her arms and gave them the 'mother' look. "Alright you two, what's going on? I know you aren't being entirely truthful and I want it. Now."

Faate glanced down at her hands unwilling to spill Mykorian's secrets and then shook her head, wincing at that look. That was the sort of look that had always got her runed in her room when she was a child. "I can't, Mama...."

Lyssie blinked as her brother crawled over to her and wrapped his arms around her neck, pressing a kiss to her cheek. She wrapped her arms around his waist and snuggled him. "I fell in the water again and it was real cold and dark and that thingie tried to eat me..." Shivering.

"Not always, no."

A smirk at his oldest.

"I let mom get away with it now. because it has become much easier to let her get away with it save her later, than to try and figure out every conceivable way to stop her from doing it in the first place."

A shrug.

"Because we're men. and as men, we have certain ingrained thoughts. like standing when your body says not to. or fighting the good fight long after the battle is over. or facing things better left alone. things like that. we're protectors, fighters. women are homemakers, maternal. we want to conquer the world, they just want us to stay home."

before looking at his youngest.

"you know, keep that up and Zahara is going to poke you too."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 03, 2007 12:57 pm

And things were falling apart. He knew better than to let things like this happen. But not, a worthy opponent and temptation had gotten in his way and Faate was now going to pay the price for trying to keep his secret. "I really don't have a place to stay. And I dont' have any money on me, save for what I earned here. My parents didn't make arrangements for me, and they don't even know I'm here." Well...technically they didn't.

"Oh, you had reverie abotu that did you? Well, you know how to swim now and you know what water is safe to swim in. You don't have to worry about that anymore, it's just an old memory that won't be around too long. You'll have plenty to have in place of it."

"Don't let mom hear you say that. She'll start ranting in that 'so you think you're better than me' way, and then Zahara will get in on it and then we'll never hear the end of it." But there was some great advice here wasn't it? Anything to help with the confusing women thing was good in his opinion. But he too looked at his brother, giving a chuckle that had him holding his ribs. Oh the funny hurt.

He gave a giggle back at the both of them, holding his hands up. "I'm better too!" Because that's how he understood things at this age. Bandages made things better and well...he was having his fun playing. Depsite the waste of materials. "Poke." Poking his father then just because.

Oh look, time for the Mom face. Her eyes narrowed at Mykorian. "Your parents don't know you are here? Where do you they think you have gone? Did you tell them you were going to stay with a friend for a few days?" Raising an eyebrow at that. She was imaging a frantic mother who had just discovered her son was not at said friend's house and now couldn't figure out just where he was. "That was irresponsible and immature, Mykorian. Why did you lie to them?" But she was searching for a solution. Obviously she couldn't let Mykorian sleep with her daughters, Sevilin was very much against that. Perhaps there was another room open in the inn that she could procure for him.

Plopping Kelligrin on the bed, she settled behind her father and wrapped her arms around him tightly. "You'd save me if I did anyway. Sometimes I do silly things."

Kelligrin was not pleased at being shoved aside and he slapped his fists against the bedspread then sought to get Daddy's attention again. He remembered Daddy always wanted him to stand and walk, so he pushed his hand down on the comforter and pushed himself to his feet then took a step. Unfortunately a messy bed is not the best surface to try and walk and he tumbled backwards off the bed, knocking his head against the floor, rather hard. Like any small child, he immediately began to scream-cry.

"Yes, your all better."

poking his son back, before looking to his oldest.

"You're mother should be up and moving soon, she'll want to see you I imagine and once Zahara does her thing with her kids, I'm sure she'll be here as well. would you like me to see if I can locate Kaelin for you and let her know that you lived through the night and not done anything stupid?"

And now scolded even more. "Field trip." That was the only answer he had readily avaliable for her, even if he was digging his hole deeper and deeper. "Because...they probably wouldn't let me compete. Last time I asked they had just said no." Granted he was probably too young then. Staring at his boots, he merely stood there waiting.

He nodded to his daughter, reaching back to pat her head. "That's right, but you learn from silly things." Then the accident count for the day started as his son fell off the bed too fast for him to catch. Reaching down he picked up the child and cradled him in his arm, trying to soothe him with worked before a little rune on the child to soothe the pain. "Shh, it's alright now. You have to be more careful."

"If you think it will make her feel better. This girl stuff is still too complicated. I don't see how Zykariel keeps up with it." Then again Zykariel was exposed to the opposite sex on a daily basis, so he guessed it made sense that his friend had better handle on things. Crap. But then a sigh that said he didn't like the impending inspection by mothers. "Do Aunt Lark and grandfather want to get in on the action too? Let's make a party out of it. It's not like I haven't been hurt before."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 03, 2007 8:03 pm

Zahara crossed her arms and glared between the two of them but focused her attention on Mykorian since he didn't have a mother here to scold him. "Well, that's disappointing, Mykorian. If your parents didn't want you to compete, then you should respect their wishes and not go behind their back. Now, this can work one of two ways. I will pay your room fee for the length of the time that you are here but with a consequence. You will contact your parents and tell them the truth and you will prove to me that you did it. Understand?"

Lyssie blinked and narrowed her eyes then put up a fuss. "Ew! Daddy he's leaking again!" Indeed pointing to the red spot that was in the child's hair, then she peeked over onto the floor. "He did it on the floor too."

Fear more than pain was making him cry and he clung to his father, rubbing his head where he'd bumped it. "Kelli...make Daddy see...h-happy..." His sister's fuss made him glance down at his hands and he waved them, crying once again and squirming. "I-I-Ickyyyyy!"

"I can ask them if they'd be interested in joining the mothers."

before picking up his youngest, bandages and all.

"besides, I need to check on your mother as is, and you coudl use the extra bit of rest I'm sure."

before going back into his own room with his youngest to see to his wife.

"How are you feeling? Malikhai is up and I've changed his bandaging."

And well crap she just fricked up his plan. "I...can't." Toeing the ground with his socked foot...he was going to have to tell her wans't he? There was no way out of things this time and that's the price he paid for being foolish. Tournament was almost over...but then again he had paid those two elves to act as he parents....but with his own lie he had screwed himself over by saying they didn't know when he had told those two elves that they did know. "Why can't you just believe that it's better if they don't know? I won't do it again I promsie..."

"Lyssie go get me a washcloth and a bowl of water from the bathroom okay?" Grasping his son's hands so he didn't flail before another rune to take care of any wounds then back to soothing motions. "No worries, we'll get you cleaned up. Shh, no fuss now." He had come to notice that the child wasn't fond of being dirty at all.

He shook his head, always the prey of jokes but at least he knew how to take it in good humor. "Yeah, rest is the thing I'm enjoying the most right now. More rest I get the sooner we can head home." Plopping back against pillows again as his father carted his brother off.

She was awake...had been awake. In fact had had a breif telepathic conversation with her father. It had left her no more soothed than before so now she was just staring up at the sheer canopy on the bed, trying to sort things out in her head. She wasn't happy about any of this, but was brushing Malik off honestly the best way to go? Triple colored eyes that were a tad dulled from a combination of negative emotions turned to her husband...though a raise of an eyebrow at her youngest. "You sure the bandages didn't do things on their own? That one is covered and he's not even hurt." Going quiet again before a sigh, "I'm fine..." She wasn't going to give him more that than in response to his simple question...he knew she wasn't all fine.

Oh yes, she had him. "Because I happen to be a mother and if any of my children," glaring at Faate who faltered, "decided to do something so foolish, I would hope that someone would have the decency to let me know." Tapping her fingers on her arm. "And once I did know, I could take precautions to ensure it never happened again." She softened slightly at that look and walked over, tilting his chin up, "Mykorian, I know you didn't get hurt this time and you probably never will do it again. But if I let you get away with it this time, then you didn't learn anything. The whole point of these things is to learn from them. Now, put on some boots and take care of the basic things you need to do and we'll go get you a room, alright?"

Lyssie leapt off the bed and into the bathroom, filling the bowl with whatever temperature water came out of the tap and put a washcloth over her arm like she'd seen one of the barmaids downstairs do. Holding it aloft, despite the fact it was filled to the brim, she sashayed herself back out to her father and offered it to him. "Here ya are, sweetcheeks." Yes, she was mimicking. Glancing back at the watermarked trail, she looked back at Kelli. "Daddy'll make it better Kelli."

He didn't like blood on his hands and kept staring down at it in horror every two seconds, afraid that it might suddenly start spreading or something. His sister got a glance and then he held his hand straight up in demand that it be cleaned, making a whimpering noise softly since Daddy didn't like lots of tears.

"well...he helped. I think he got a little carried away though. And I know your not fine."

setting his son down on the bed, and pulling over a seat to sit on.

"We tried to avoid this as best we could. Last time, it was your past that came to haunt us. this time it's mine. though I would have preferred it showed up before we had children it could hurt."

taking her hand, and patting it lightly.

"If you want, stay here with Malikhai. you don't have to come watch anything."

He tried to keep his eyes averted from hers as she tilted his chin up. After all, no one liked to get scolded and he didn't know what he was going to do now. Plans had just jumped right out the window. And it wasn't like he could argue with her...she'd just have to find out and then leave him alone. He never honestly expected all of this to work out anyway, he wasn't that lucky. But he went and pulled on his boots, grabbing his pack from the corner.

That was cute wasn't it? Maybe a habit he didn't wanther having seeing as people could think bad of that, but it was still cute. "Thanks you dear." Reaching down he took hold of the cloth and plopped it in the bowl, squeezing the majority of the water out before taking it to his son's hands. "It's alright Kelligrin, see? It comes right off and it's not on you anymore." A sideglance to the floor. "Lyssie do you want to help and get another cloth and clean up the floor for me?"

With a sigh she pushed herself up to a sitting position just as her son more or less threw himself at her, bandages and all. He of course wasn't all obliivious to how his mother was feeling, and was in fact trying to make her feel better by cuddling on her. While he did that, she merely went about unwrapping him some, at least his head...could be bad for his ears and she was the only one who was going to have bad ears in this family. A look to the hand he took, trying to comfort her. "Kaden was different, he wasn't one to fight back, he wanted you to kill him if he couldn't have me. Rainmare isn't going to go away...even with this fight. He's always going to be watching anyone who bares our family name. What if Malikhai steps out of line and he deems him 'corrupted' by you? He never promised to not kill him to spare the world another old Malik D'vinn." She knew he couldn't kill Malik but self righteous crusaders never let something simply lay. "And I don't simply want to send out off and hope you come back. A'mael, you know if you would let me by your side I'd be there too. Father is here....he can watch the boys."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 04, 2007 6:02 pm

Zahara let him go and glanced at her daughter. "You need to go see your father. I'm sure he has a few things to discuss with you, mainly the fact that it was impossible to get into your room because you put an extra rune on the door. You know better, Faatallon." Thus dropping an arm around Mykorian's shoulders and leading him off downstairs. It didn't take long at all to secure him a room and she informed the innkeeper that anything Mykorian wanted went on her bill. "Are you hungry?"

Kelligrin was much happier now that his hands were clean and he gave his father a nuzzle for helping him out. "All clean." Clapping his now wet hands happily and then watching his sister. "Floor too?"

She nodded happily, "Okay!" Skipping off, she dug out another cloth and wet it then scrubbed the blood off of the floor and frowned at it. "Now the cloth's icky. What do we do with it, Daddy?" Showing him the stained cloth then blinking as her sister came in the room. "Uh-oh, Faate's in trou-ble." Singsongy voice reserved for when her older siblings were about to get yelled at.

"He'll go away. at least for a short time. and if he does come back, then he won't be down here if he can help it. he'd stay surface side. Norrathian elves are very particular about that sort of thing on the 'surface' sides."

a small pat on her hand.

"alright. but I imagine Lark will be watching the boys. you really think your father is going to pass up a chance to see me really go into a fight with a paladin? I bet he's got a spot picked out already with journals in place."
