Now that the others were gone, she felt like she needed to talk to Malikhai about a few things...just to clear some up. "I'm sure. You really took a beating out there." Lightly trapping a small bead of moisture that had dripped off the rag with her finger and brushing it off on her skirt. "Did I...upset you at any point, Malikhai? I'd rather you just tell me than something else."
Zykariel gave a grin to Kieran and shook his head. "No trouble at all. Just leaving Malikhai to muddle through the wonders of young love and the midn of girls. It's every man for himself and survival of hte fittest when it comes to such things. Ow..." Frowning and rubbing his head. "What was that for?"
"You're just so cute, I couldn't resist. Talking about women like we're battle zones or something." Ruffling the spot she'd offended a moment ago with the back of her hand. "Everything okay, Daddy Kieran?"
Faate blinked for a long moment and then burst out laughing, plopping back on the bed to try and contain her giggles. "I'm sorry, Mykorian, but you just sounded like my father when he's trying to get us to do something we don't want to do."
She met her husband's eyes even as her son bounded straight into her lap, brandishing his ball for her to see. Brushing her fingers through the child's hair, she nodded. "I'm glad, Sevilin. Really. It has yet to solve anything at all and only makes things worse." Nodding to Kelligrin and then nuzzling him. "That will be the day, won't it Kelli?" Flopping back on the bed and letting the child straddle her then wincing as he bounced. Retaliation time! Through tickling.
Peals of laughter and squirming followed those fingers managing to move all over his tummy and chest before could pull away and he squirmed, dropping his ball then reaching one hand out for his father. "Daddy help!"

"Well then, we'll not disturb."
though a glance at Lark.
"Women are battlezones. and rather bad ones I might add. I'd almost prefer fighting a dragon than trying to figure you women out sometimes."
heading down toward the bar area with them in tow.
"So, zykariel...how long do you think before me or piper get a panic tug that says 'come save me'?"

"That's what tournament is about, passing out the beatings and hoping you survive them to pass out harder ones." Shifting once more as his comfortable spot was becoming uncomfortable. There we go, pressure off of ribs a little better now. A blink at her question though at it came unexpected. "No...why would you think that?" Girls were again highly confusing. Why did they have to be confusing?
He blinked and grinned. "Girls? Is it that time already?" Turning a look and a grin to Malik. "Right you are about that." Reaching over to ruffle Lark's hair and nod to her. "Everything is fine. You didn't doubt me did you?"
He blinked. Not quite understanding her laughter or why exactly it was so funny. "I'm sorry?"
He nodded to her before turning his attention to their son again who was demanding attention and then getting tickled for it. Giving a chuckle, a well placed tickle to Zahara's own side and he snatched the baby from her, standing up from the bed as well. "There we are, all safe and sound. And to think I do so much for you and you make me carry you around all day for fear of your hands getting dirty."

She reached behind him and helped rearrange his pillows to keep the pressure off his chest since she knew just how badly a broken rib would hurt. Settling back into the chair by his bed, she shrugged. "You went really quiet on me after I sounded so shocked that you had never been in a relationship before." Pausing a moment and searching for just the right way to say it. "Why is that, Malikhai? You didn't want to or...something else?"
Zykariel chuckled and ordered himself an tankard of ale. Dad wasn't around and neither was Mom to preach. Malik might but he'd just shrug it off. Not like Malik could stop him from doing anything anyway. "I give him about five minutes before the first one but Kae will let him get comfortable. She'll be a good tester for him. Play around, learn some things, figure out just how to deal with the lovely gender called women." Giving a grin to Lark, "Learn to fight the bloodiest war of all. And while it is a war, it's also the most fun in battle he'll ever have."
Lark rolled her eyes, "It really is rather cute, isn't it? He looked so lost sitting in that room when she mentioned something, I just felt sorry for him." Tucking teal strands behind her ears and letting the moons tinkle merrily where they swung, she shook her head. "Never. I was a little worried, I'll admit but I knew reason would oversee fanatic beliefs."
Faate realized she might have upset him and reached out, ruffling his hair like her mother did to her brother when he was confused or irritated. "Don't be sorry. It was...anyway, I wasn't laughing at you. So then, is there anything else you wanted to do at tournament? Looks like we could be here for a little while longer."
Kelligrin stuck his tongue out at his mother and nuzzled his father. "Yay! Daddy saves Kelli. His job." He glanced down at his hands and studied them for a moment before brushign them off and showing them to his father. "No dirt. Lookit."
He was always doing that and she was always reacting the very same way. Squirming and barely holding in a giggle herself, she watched as her son was snatched and then engaged in a very sweet moment. It was moments like those she loved the most, like the time she'd come downstairs after working upstairs for a number of hours and found a much smaller Zykariel lost in reverie on his father's chest who was also lost in reverie. "You're not safe yet, Kelligrin. I can still get you." Thus hopping off the bed and creeping over before reaching two fingers out and tickling the baby. "See, Daddy's got to be more creative than that."

"Reason doesn't always win. I have more to suspect your second reason had more to do with his choice than your first one."
A slight smirk at the tankard.
"That's a little much for you, don't you think?"
before turning his attention around and to his wife.
"We left Malikhai with his female friend. I think she had somethings she wanted to discuss with him, and she apparently doesn't like an audience."

Not only were women confusing but they liked to talk about sore topics. This woman thing was getting harder and harder. What was the point again? Oh yes, to sate the instinct that he couldn't help but to look at girls. "Oh well um...it's just that, well I'm not a very social person. I mean I'm very well versed in speaking to people I don't know confidently but I just really, not too good at social...things...yeah..." Babbling.
Kieran merely watched things as he always watched things. After all, teenagers were oh so much fun. "Helping your friend by throwing him to the wolves are you? I remember when Lateef did that to me. It was disasterous." Shaking his head with a chuckle and a look to Lark. "Reason has it's place in life but life can't be all reason, remember that now. Tidbit of the day." Nodding to Malik, "That and I pitched a good bit of reverse psychology in an aspect. Doesn't matter if it worked or not, no one likes to be called names and the reason for the name be true.
She looked away from Galesen, taking the cup from Dhairiss as it was handed back to her with one of those big grins of his before he snuggled against her. "She's shy. I wouldn't blame her...I wouldn't want to be around all of us either."
He squinted an eye and promptly took to fixing his hair as she had messed it up. "No I think that's enough for me before people start getting expectations ofme that I can't live up to. Best to impress by underperforming at times."
"Don't stick that out at your mother." Shaking his head lightly and grinning as Zahara got up to try and take retaliation on him. Creative hm? More or less seating the child in one of his hands, he lifted his arm above his head and thus put the child out of her reach. "How's this for creative?"

Galesen nodded to Piper at her answer, but before he could even say a word it seemed the rest decided to come own down stairs. "Well they deserve some privacy, after all she did watch him get knocked around out there. They can't get to know each other better without all of us around." A small sigh as he too ordered something to drink.

Yup, now she knew why he'd never been in a relationship but instead of being completely turned off, she found it rather sweet and refreshing. The other guys were so...confident it was almost sick. Giving him a smile, she patted his arm gently, mindful of places that were all sickly and purplish. "You just haven't been around enough people to get enough social experience, I think. After all, you're homeschooled and whatnot."
"It's not all for me. Half is for Khai. That's our deal, don'tcha know. Besides, it'll warm his stomach and maybe make him feel a little better or take the edge of his flailing with females. And if not, well he can't say I didn't try. I'm a good friend like that."
Faate merely nodded and plopped back on the bed, patting the spot beside her. "You look like you could use a backrub or some more reverie. I can give you either but I could use the latter too. And we still need to make sure we keep Daddy from finding out you snuck in here last night and plan to do so again tonight." Glancing over at him and blinking red eyes. "You do plan to, right?"
Zahara watched her son go high up in the air adn stifled the urge to be the protective mother that would screech shrilly at her husband and then cuddle the child. Sevilin would claim she was coddling him so she let it go but kept a close eye. Plopping her hands on her hips, she shook her head. "Using my height against me. That's just not fair." It was amusing to hear the giggles and laughter her son was quite happily filling the room with and she had to admit, it was amusing. "Of course I could just tickle Daddy..." Giving a grin as her youngest urged her on with a clap of his hands and she reached up and lightly stroked both of his ears. "Tickle. Tickle."

Malik just listened, and waited. sending commands through Malvolence to get things prepared, arranged and set. his mind was already working ahead, to things that were coming.
And so was his enemy. Rainmare was polishing his armor, sharpening his weapon. preparing his mind for the coming battle. never in this place had such a real fight been seen.
Malik thought about the potential conflicts with Jaraxle and Kimmuriel. they would have been powerful enemies, but they were so intricately weaved into thier own webs that mostly a conflict with them was pointless.
Rainmare suited up in his armor, carefully tightening and examining every peice, every plate and chain link for weakness. his wife, currently holding her nose back, was silent, but in her own way very much grateful. she only hoped mow that while her husband had agreed to not kill his enemy, that the D'vinn husband would keep that same condition in his own dealings.

A blink as she patted his arm and didn't get the amused about to giggle look. "Yeah, well my dad thinks that it's better for me to learn alone at my own pace than with a group at a slower pace. But I did talk to him about it...said I could go for a while to the school that you and Zykariel go to." Giving a sigh thing that came with a cringe, shifting again in bed. Oh hurt.
"Honestly, the boy is only fifteen and you're all talking as if he's two hundered. Even if he has privacy, he doesn't know what to do with it." Shaking her head. Right now she wasn't one for nonsensical things and what not. Stress only let but so much get by her. And don't get him drunk Zykariel...that's one of the last things he needs." Because if she was going to be the bad guy, might as well be all inclusive.
"I suppose so. I can just sleep under the bed again." Hey it was warm and safe and well...despite her father being scary to be caught by a little risk was a good thing in life, kept you on your toes. But a stretch and an odd blink. Backrub, what kind of idea was that? "I suppose a few more hours of reverie would be nice. I did get quite a work out today."
"No, it's not. But effective." SHaking his head as she touched his ears. "That's just dirty play and you're going to make me drop him. Now I know you want, but I don't think you want me to drop him either."

Kaelin nodded and took the information given with a grain of salt. "If you'd like, I think that might be a very good idea. Let you see both ways and then decide which one you might like better and go from there. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing you at school for a few days."
Zykariel chuckled, "No worries Aunt Red, I won't allow him to get drunk, just give him some social lubricant and whatnot." Thus giving a nod to the others assembled, he headed back upstairs, walking in and handed the tankard to Malikhai. "Here, this might make you happy."
Faate nodded, turning her attention to her sister for a moment. "Lyssie, either take some reverie or go play with Dhairiss and them." The younger girl chose to play quietly in the corner and Faate snuggled down into her bed then patted the space beside her. "Sweet memories, Mykorian."
Zahara chuckled and took her son from him as his hands moved down slightly, pressing a kiss to the giggling baby's cheek and then tossing him on the bed and going about changing him. "I always figh dirty, Raven. You should know that by now." Tickling her son's stomach and handing him his ball. "But I know for a fact he's runed." Snickering, "Kelli would probably bounce, too." The family wasnt' really hungry in light of the rather large lunch they'd had and it didn't take long at all to get all of the kids settled for reverie before she settled in next to her husband as well.
The next morning dawned dark and early like always but Zahara was jerked out of reverie by a scream coming from the room next door. Yanked out of reverie by bonds, she grabbed Sevilin's arm. "It's Lyssie!" She didn't even bother changing the short nightgown she had on, simply darted into the hallway and reached for the doorknob. It was locked...and runed shut? "Sevilin!"

A small sip of his drink before his eyebrows shot up at Piper's words, but then he had to chuckle a little as Zykariel took off with a drink for his friend. "I think none of us will ever see them drunk until in their later years. The boys are smart enough not to get drunk just yet." Though how knows if they did or not, Galesen didn't since he rarely saw the boys anyway. A look to Malik for a moment. "What's on your mind Malik?" Seemed he was off in a far away land, didn't make one comment about Malikhai might be getting drunk. A sigh and he took a sip of his drink again. A look around and he noticed not everyone was present. "Aren't the others coming down to eat?" But it didn't matter much as it seemed.
Day came rather quickly and Galesen was up pretty early. Yawning he got a bath then got dress before heading out. Still rubbing the stiffness out of his joints the elf made his way down the hall, then hear something like someone was screaming. Making his way to the noise he saw Zahara, though he didn't stop when he noticed what she was wearing, and he made his way to her. "Zahara whats wrong?"

Malik yawned and got himself up, after basically spending his night massaging and soothing Piper...before hearing Zahara shouting for Sevilin. wonderful. getting himself somewhat dressed in just loose pants, looking out his door.
"What's going on?"
Rainmare had been up sometime already. armored, and kneeling before his shire to the Mother, lighting incense and whispering in reverant voice the prayers he'd been reciting for centuries.
his sword lay across the small alter, runes shimmering in teh candlelight as he got up and sheathed the blade on his back.
Soon. soon he'd face that elf again.

And the day started with freaking out. Hm, that means it would be interesting. He merely walked, at least knowing that the child wasn't hurt and or dying for some reason because he had runes for that sort of thing. Screaming usually meant, in their house anyway, that someone was being mean to someone else, or there was a spider or something equally icky in the room. "Children, most likely," Speaking to Malik as he passed before grasping Zahara's shoulder and more or less prying her off the door.
Rune on the door, that he didn't put. Bad child. Counter runing it, he unlocked it and stepped in...only to walk back out literally dragging a bewildered Mykorian by the collar of his shirt looking none too happy about it. "Obviously, I don't need to explain my displeasure. Someone want to keep me from acting out on it and give me some explainations on to why I find the surface trash in bed with my daughter?" Nope, not happy at all. Derogatory names and everything
He was indeed half in reverie still, but also accutely rabbit scared to where he didn't want to move. Merely stand or more lor less hang there in the mercy of Sevilin's hold and hope for the best. We were going to squeeze our eyes shut and pray now.

Zahara watched Sevilin unlock the door but didn't get a chance to race inside before she was staring at Mykorian. "I don't think that's why Lyssie screamed. Give me a moment." Walking into the room, she spent a few moments with her younger daughter, picking her up and carrying her back out to the hallway. Quick glance to make sure all clothes were on and nothing untoward was going on. Looking at her other daughter who was standing in the doorway studying her bare feet. Mother voice now. "Faatallon."
Faate swallowed and glanced at her father, not liking the fury leaping in his eyes. That cold tone was never good. "He...didn't have anywhere else to reverie, Daddy. I didn't want him out on the street...so I let him reverie with me."
