"Anytime, silver eyes. I aim to please, don't'cha know?" Giving a chuckle and leaning back against the wall next to Kaelin with his arms crossed. He gave a silent nod to Kieran and waited for the fireworks to begin. He'd come at the perfect moment.

Lharika chuckled and nodded, "Yes, well, many things have changed since you left but the important ones remain the same. I'll never be pessimistic, though. Daddy Kieran rolls his eyes at some of the girly optimistic things I do still come up with. I'll be a ruler like no other." Giving a grin and turning as bonds told her said Daddy Kieran was in the room.

She could feel the heat emanating from beneath her palms even as the rosy color darkened slightly. "I can blush but you can't see it. My skin's too dark. I guess I thought that since you were half drow, it wouldnt' show up on you either. Silly, I suppose, especially since you have paler skin than we do." She gave him a grin and released his cheeks then wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "My Daddy would be proud. He's always talking about boys defending girls."

It was a rather sweet moment to be privy too, despite the darker conversation going on outside the child's world. She frowned at the darkness, anger, and fear that was in his eyes and rested her forehead against his for a moment while their son was crawling to get his ball. "As in we're in danger? Sevilin...is there anything you can do?" Sighing, "I guess this means we're still staying at Twilight for the time being."

"Besides the point. point being you get into more of it than I do. I just get humorous stories to tell about it more than you do as well."

before turning his attention to Kieran as well.

"So what was the outcome? don't leave us in suspense Kieran Silvercrest."

Seemed he was the center of attention, didn't it. He gave a grin. "Well, there was no need to steal the spotlight from the boy...but Piper, Malik come with me." Thusly opening the door and stepping out, waiting for Malik and Piper to join him in the hall and pulling the door closed to the prying ears and eyes of children were shut out...hopefully at least. "Well...we've reached a bargain he and I. Malik...your life is no longer in question here. He no longer seeks to take it. Your marriage style helped that some, as well as your particular ties to this plane. But he gave me a stipulation. Before tournament is disbanded for the year, I'm suspecting merely to have the witnesses, that you and he are to engage in on foot combat."

Piper obviously wasn't too happy with the ultimatum that they had been given. "What good does that do? People die in combat unwittingly by accident. Or at least sometimes accidentally on purpose. I'm supposed to believe that there is no ulterior motive behind such a thing?"

He watched the adults exit and then turned a look back to his friends and family in the room. "Well...who thinks that whatever he had to say would most liklely upset us?"

"I would rather people not be able to tell that I blush." Shaking his head lightly and rubbing at his cheeks when she released them, trying to get the blood to drain before he blinked as he was suddenly being hugged. This was new. He hadn't been hugged in years. "Well...that's good an all, but I know girls can take care of themselves too...but there's no reason to let them handle things that are yours to handle." Awkwardly standing there and letting her hug him.

He closed his eyes as she watched them before resting her head agaisnt his. Somethings he really didn't want her to see too much. "Yes, as in we're in danger. But honestly that's nothing new to us. We just have to get ahold of it before it gets ahold of us. All we can do for the moment is keep eyes and ears out for things, senses open for anything we can." Raising a hand he brushed a hand over her cheek. "We'll be alright." And thusly looking back to his son, taking the ball that was brought back once more and tossed it back to him again.

Lark frowned as she was left in the room, too. "I hate it when they treat me like a child, though I really have no reason to know either." Sighing and plopping down in a chair with her arms crossed before blinking at the drow female. "Who are you?" Slow grin, "Malikhai's girlfriend, perhaps?"

With not so many bodies in the room now, Kaelin stood up and walked over, tidying up the area where the bowl of cool water sat. Dipping the cloth back into the water, she took a seat on the side of the bed and lightly dabbed at his face. "You're sweating again." Then over to Lark, and her red eyes widened in surprise. "No, well, I suppose not. My name is Kaelin. I'm a...friend?" Glancing at Zykariel for help.

Zykariel chuckled and pushed off the wall. "You know that's why they do that. When we were little they used to spell everything to try and keep us from finding out, though we always did. Now they just leave the room and figure if it's really important, they'll tell us later." Glancing at Kelin, he shrugged. "Friends, partners, lovers. You two would know your label better than I would."

"You'll learn not to do it in time. But Malikhai still blushes and he's really old so you've got a ways to go." She released him when the hug drew to a close, unruffled by the lack of return of the gesture. "Good, we can take care of ourselves but sometimes it's nice to be defended. Makes us feel special." She paused for a moment, hesitating, and then asked timidly, "You don't want to take the offer, do you?"

She hated it when he did that. It was only because everything he felt came across clear in his eyes and he hoped to spare her some of those emotions even if she'd told him time and time again not to. "No, there's always something or another threatening our lives together or the children's lives. Underdark isn't the best place to race a large family." A shake of her head and she watched the game go on for a bit longer before the ball was brought to her and she was added into the game between father and son. "I know. There's enough protection around us all at any given point that nothing could happen without our knowledge. I trust you, Raven. With my life and our babies' lives too." Chewing on her bottom lip a moment. "If this Wyndrider fool manages to kill Malik...what are you going to do?"

A blink as Kieran came in, grabbed Piper and Malik and walked out. Hey he wasn't a kid. Well difference in age may make it seem like that but still he was a grown up, he was older than Piper really. Whatever the elder elf did with that crazy surface elf must be important if it were to just be told to the D'vinn's. Still he would like to know what was up. Even if he wasn't related at all to any of them he was still a member of the house like Sevilin and Zahara were. "You're not the only one Lark but I guess it must be important." Though a look to Malikhai and he shurgged. "I think it might, must be serious if it can't be said around everyone here."Now looking at Kaelin and he smiled. "So what do you two consider yourselves as then?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 28, 2007 7:14 pm

Malik frowned lightly.

"I suppose it can't be helped. a trapping of personal honor I imagine is still the culprit, but at least he's not looking to mount my head on a wall somewhere."

glancing at his wife.

"A Paladin's power is in defense and healing. Just as I was trained in necromancy, he was trained in clerical arts. provided that we have his word he won't see me dead, he's bound by that same word to make sure to the best of his ability that I stay alive. which means if he did seriously hurt me, he's bound by his own honor to heal those injuries."

though shaking his head and rubbing his chin.

"But I don't see any other options available to us right now. if we just leave, he may see that as me not agreeing to this and thus his crusade to kill me comes back to the forefront. not that we can leave anytime soon with Malikhai's condition."

glancing to Piper.

"Any ideas? so far I think accepting this challenge is our safest route."

"It's my dad's business...if he feels the need to tell us then he will. Don't bellache over it." Sighing and shifting with a cringe as his little brother was still clung to his arm slightly. A look to Kaelin as she seemed to take up that caring role again. "Takes a lot of effort to move." And then a frown as they went after his social confidence again, great it just got better and better. Zykariel wasn't helping and Galesen was pushing...well he should step in a little. "Right now, she's apparently made herself my nurse...which is probably what I need the most right now."

She was unusally quiet for herself when it came to things that she didn't agree on. Frankly she didn't care for the circumstances or the safeguards. Malik could accidently be killed in one stroke and not everyone had the power to bring the dead back. A paladin's honor wasn't enough for her. A look between them as they seemed to look expectantly to her...and she merely gave a dismissive wave, turning from them. "Do what you want..." Heading back into the to distract herself with her son least she just upset and cry or something out of sheer frustration. Walking over to the bed, she scooped up Dhairiss who put up a little bit of a fuss. "Come come now, let your brother have some space sweetheart." A look to the gathered young elves. "What no dissovle into chaos yet? I'm going to get you something to eat Malikhai, Kaelin you're welcome to stay and have dinner with us if that's alright with your mother." Yay being good at hiding our distate with things...well, externally moreso. Thusly out of the room with her again, Dhairiss on her hip and heading downstairs.

"And she is not a happy woman." Shaking his head and looking to Malik. "You honestly have no other choice and the options to begin with are limited. Hard enough to get him to see things from a side of the fence that worked in your favor. He knows if you die you take the plane with you and he won't risk that, but I would advise that you take the same route and not strive to kill him either." Watching his daughter again as she passed them both and headed downstairs, Dhairiss with her this time. "It's going to be a necessary evil Malik."

"I don't know. I mean...it puts me in a lot better position living wise than I am now. I wouldn't be a scavenger at least. But if I say yes then they're going to find out...I won't have those two elves we paid around forever. If they find out they may do that stupid pity thing. That's why if I at least trial run things...I can't stay with you. Galesen probably wouldn't be as concerned that my parents hadn't shown up in quite a bit of time."

"Underdark is the underdark. You have to deal with it as it comes along and try not to worry about darker tomorrows." Which was hard for him right now what with the crazy acting up. A smile though as she was now involved in the game that the child just seemed so indulged in. "You know I'll do my best to protect my family. The half I like anyway." Shaking his head before quiet for a moment in thought. "If he kills Malik? Well...I suppose I would have to step up and help Piper run the empire, at least until Malikhai was old enough to handle such things. But that is a possibility I don't think we should consider."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 28, 2007 8:14 pm

"I really don't care. This whole thing lost its appeal about the time you began getting maimed over it." Which he still didn't understand and he knew if he tried to go too far into it, it would only irritate him. He supposed if it had been his father and family's honor at stake he probably would have done the same. But that was impossible to consider in his mind.

Kaelin flushed and chewed on her lower lip as Galesen and Zykariel seemed to descend on them. Perhaps it wasn't such a good idea to be here...? Glancing up as the little elf curled into Malikhai was snatched by his mother, she merely nodded. "Thank you kindly, Lady D'vinn. I'll let you know." Turning back to Malikhai and giving him a grateful smile before caressing over his cheek lightly. "Yes, though you are looking slightly better."

"Oh, I hadn't thought of that but you had." Pausing a moment as she reconciled that in her mind. "You don't want them to find out because you are afraid they'll pity you? I don't pity you. Galesen won't either. He lost his parents so he knows what it feels like. He might try to tell you he understands but I doubt he'd pity you."

She tossed the ball to the child, clapping when he caught it, despite the fact it managed to roll right out of his hands in the end. "Yes, I do. And that's what I'm basing my security in. You're our big, bad protector." Hesitating a moment and tucking a stray piece of hair behind his ear, trying to distract him for a moment. "We all will, bonds will likely harm Piper more than help her. But you won't feel the need to avenge him or teach Malikhai to do so either?"

Kelligrin clapped his hands too then tilted his head as certain words flitted across to him. "Daddy squish speeders. Protect Kelli and sissies." Giving a nod and tossing the ball back.

Galesen smirked a little at Malikhai's answer. "Good answer." Didn't even loose his cool though Kaein did a little. Still he wondered how close these two will get, seems like the gal has taken a lot of interest in the blue elf. A raised eyebrow as Piper just waltz right in and scooped up her youngest. "Of course not, not while I'm around." A small chuckle before he looked to the others and gave a light nod. "I'll see you guys downstairs, well except for Malikhai but you enjoy dinner as well." So he left the room without much of another word and along the way he came across Kieran and Malik. Stopping at them he said hello and gave a light nod. "So...anything going on I should know?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 28, 2007 8:27 pm

"I wouldn't expect her to be happy."

though a look over at Galesen.

"No. nothing you should know. at least not right now."

looking back at Kieran.

"I'll make the preparations and set everything up. So what are we going to do with Piper in the meantime before she goes into a nervous breakdown due to stress?"

"Maimed is a good word." A nod to his mother as she game, stole the brother and left, followed shortly by Galesen. Well, the room got less crowded didn't it? Just him, Zykariel, Lark, and Kaelin now. Hm, a little light touch like that seemed to make him feel better in a way. "Oh well that's good to know...I'm not quite sure how the rest of me is starting to look though."

"I think of a lot of things I probably shouldn't." Shrugging lightly and wrinkling his nose. "I don't want sympathy either. It only breeds misery in things that are better left alone. I don't need someone to understand, but to just not mention it."

"Surface elves can die of grief, did you know that? Their hearts can literally break." Shaking his head lightly with a sigh. "Revenge is something that is better left alone. It is something that will consume you until it drives you mad and then you'll lose yourself and wont' be able to get yourself back." Catching the ball with a smile as Kel added in his two cents as well. "Yes, I do. And take joy in it." Then holding the ball out ot the child, trying to get him to stand and step to get it back.

He turned a look to Gaelsen as he popped up more or less literally and clapped the boy on the back. "Well, you're the same as ever aren't you? How's that eye doing for you?" Taking the more conversational route since obviously Malik really didn't want him to know things. At least not yet. An amused look to Malik then, "Hey you married her, she's your problem now." Grinning to that, a little lightheartedness would do the moment some good. "I suggest you just approach without justification."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 28, 2007 9:37 pm

She continued to erase those glistening droplets of water expelled by his body from doing too much moving around in his condition. "I don't think it would be very seemly for me to look and report to you on it or I would." Giving him a soft smile that bordered on embarassed due to their audience.

Zykariel was no stranger to intimate moments and he gave a grin, 'And that's our cue to leave. Come along, Lark, you get to boss me around and share all the lovely stories from Andal. Are you still driving Kieran adn Lateef crazy just for something to do?" Taking her arm and heading out the door with her.

She poked his nose because it looked so funny all wrinkled up like that. Silly boy. "Then just tell him. If he does find out and starts getting buddy buddy with you, push him back and tell him to mind his space. He'll understand, especially if it was as traumatic on him as I suspect it was for you. I just don't want you to not take the offer because you're afraid."

Zahara nodded, "I believe that fact was mentioned to me a time or two. Mostly be Malik when I attempted to maim him or Piper for one reason or another. They threw that in my face quite often." Shaking her head and chuckling over memories of the past before resting a hand on her husband's arm. "That's one more thing I can cross off my list to worry about then. I was afraid House loyalty would force you into a position we can't afford for you to be in."

Kelligrin blinked at his father, waiting for him to throw it and then crawled over and used his wrist to pull himself up, taking the ball and plopping back on his bottom. "Lookit!" thus throwing the ball straight up and then climbing into his father's lap in an attempt to get after it when it landed on the bed instead of the floor like he'd intended.

Galesen blinked a little and looked at Malik with a inquire like look. Yeah something must be up. "Well alright then, I'll be around if you guys need me for anything." And he hoped he wouldn't be labeled as a babysitter again, but that didn't matter now. A little smile appeared on his face when Kieran clapped him on the back. Some times the elf thought of the elder as the father he once lost but he would never say that out loud. "I may look the same but I've changed here and there." A little chuckle to ease a bit of the tension. "My eye is fine, I keep on making sure no one took a knife or anything to it as ordered." And he was thankful for getting it of course.

A look back and forth between elves, yeah whatever was going on wasn't going to be told until much later. He probably be one of the last one's to know. It's bound to happen. "Well I'm getting a bit hungry, I'll see the both of you downstairs." A look to Kieran and he gave a small nod. "It's good to see you again." And so off he went. He may look calm but on the inside questions were being asked over and over again. Damn that stupid holy elf for showing up. Hey he saw the battle, but now things seem to have taken a turn, but for the better or for the worse? When he got downstairs he only saw Piper and smiling lightly he gave her a nod. "Hey Piper, I'm a little surprised you weren't in the archery portion of the tournament this time. Will you try next year?"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 29, 2007 2:58 pm

A frown.

"I'll work on that. I'll have to find some other way to approach with. justification is usually my ace in the hole. But in any rate, we'll need to get ready for things. Thanks for your help, Kieran."

giving him a nod and opening the door.

"Care to see your grandson a bit or are you going to go write in your journals for the next hour about your observations and descriptions physically of a Norrathian high elf?"

He chuckled, in amusement and in a nervous fashion. She wasn't serious, right? But it seemed that his friend and aunt weren't going to be any help. He shook his head...things were awkward, his social confidence was in ruin and he was purple and hurt on top of everything else. Joy. "That's okay, you don't have to. I'm sure I'm an un-uniform shade of purple over all."

"I'm not afraid. No worries." Shaking his head. "Being scared is only a temporary state that one must overcome to find that they are brave and that often happens in moments where we are so scared that we think we're going to loose things."

This child was never going to walk, despite the reassurances, bribing and trying. Taking a moment to help the child into his lap and handing him his ball as he did so. Quiet for a moment before he looked back to Zahara. "I've had my time with vengeful thinking and it's done me no good but to make me worse of an elf." He remembered when he first came to this plane...he was nowhere near as mellow as he was now. Looking to hurt everyone in his path that did his wrong first. "You don't need to worry about such things...your mind should be on things like...Kel walking."

"Sometimes women get tired of hearing justification, no matter how right it is it is always something that trods on their feelings because it cares and serves nothing but cold hard logic." Turning a look to Zykariel and Lark whom exited out the door that Malik had just opened. "You two aren't causing trouble are you?" Turning his look back to Malik, "I can write distasteful things later...and I'll only see him if he doesn't need the rest. Lark wanted to stay for a while so it's not like I'm leaving in a few hours or anything."

"I was slated to compete but I withdrew when Malikhai got hurt and this whole Wyndrider business came about. It's not a time for me to be having fun." Sitting at the bar and waiting, Dhairiss on her lap who was happily drinking from a little mug that one could assume held the boy's favorite treat.
