What was with this girl? If he was talking trash about her she would of known, there was no reason to go off the bloody deep end about all of this. And some people say he got upset quickly. A look to Malik then back to her and he sighed. "All Malik said was that he hasn't seen you since they seem to have chased you from some room awhile ago. He hope that they haven't 'frightened you off yet' as he put it. That's basically it." There he hoped she was happy. Women, some times they can make the simplest things so damn difficult.

"I don't like trainwrecks." And he doubted his mother did either and he knew that her current behavior of idly standing by was merely a cover for more drastic measures that she was coming up with in her head. But a glance over to Kaelin and Galesen as well and he gave a chuckle followed by a cough and bracing his hand against his ribs. Oh why did laughing have to hurt. "Galesen may know how to be an elf, but it seems he has trouble with women instead. Teenage girls aren't you specialty Galesen." Turning eyes to Kaelin. "No worries, you're just a nice catalyst to a boat load of jokes they can make about me and tease me over."

Piper blinked a little bit, snapping out of her own thoughts and turning a look to Lharika. "How come home isn't the best place to be right now?"

See his family on certain occassions...well that wouldn't be a problem seeing as he didn't have any family. But he blinked lightly at her, before giving a nod. "I suppose so...I take it Malik is a big name down here?" Oh the childish ignorance of such things. Obviously he wasn't underdark savvy too much.

"Little things I suppose. Piper mostly, his actions while on my plane, the breif span of time I spent incarcerated for his actions about how I should of let him be the one to take his own punishment. Little things. I have also held sword beside him, and against him in mock gesture." Seemingly thinking a moment before a grin and he looked over his shoulder to the other. "Would you be interested in the fact that he gave up some God given gifts to save this very plane?"

"Teenage girls aren't exactly your 'specialty' either, Malikhai."

before a shrug.

"things happen. powers of nature and centuries of conflict are working against us here. despite Kieran's considerable ability and vicegrip on the ideal of things changing for the better...I won't say that centuries of fact don't back up the idea of killing a tier'dal on sight."

Rainmare read through things.

"silver tongue indeed."

before glancing up sharply at the other elf.

"gave up divine gifts to spare a plane? to what end...he has no need to be here. and why would you be incarcerated for his actions, unless he set things up to have you fall for his own misdeeds in the first place, which is not uncommon among his kind."
PostPosted: Wed Oct 24, 2007 4:29 pm

Kaelin had good reason to be paranoid but she realized that her reactions might be a tad over the top. Then again, Galesen could have just been forthcoming in the first place and not so irritated when she was trying to clarify. "Oh...why would they tease you because of me?"

"A puffy Landra is not that much fun to live with, believe you me." Lharika slapped a hand over her mouth and shook her head, "Oh dear. I wasn't supposed to say anything really. But, then again..." Pausing a moment and hedging before glancing at Piper. "Oh moonflowers. Well, Isle would have told you eventually anyway. Just promise me you'll act surprised when she does."

She nodded knowingly. "Yes, a very big name. Not only was he tournament champion but he owns the rights to a lot of trading items and his little fortress, Twilight, has quite a bit of power on it's own. The name D'vinn is quite well known in the Underdark." Glancing at Sevilin for a moment, "He'd be living at Galesen's though, yes? According to Malik, anyway?"

Faate spoke up then, no longer wishing to keep her silence. "What good will that do when Galesen is hardly ever at home? He shoudl either live at Twilight or with us."

It was nice know that the elf finally understood what was trying to be said, even though he had a little help. A look to Malikhai and he raised an eyebrow. "They may not be but I don't seem to mind." A light shrug and a sigh before he was able to catch was was being said between Piper and Lark and he raised an eyebrow. "What's that? Someone is puffy eh?" Well that's news.
PostPosted: Wed Oct 24, 2007 6:15 pm

A slanted glance to his father and he shook his head, looking to Kaelin at her question. "Because they like to do that. It gives them something to giggle at and what not I suppose." Giving a sigh and a shift...it was going to be horrible on him again tonight and it was just barely noon. "I have faith in grandpa. He's got this way of getting to people but in a non-malicious way and what not."

"Isn't every elf a bearer of a silver tongue? We use them in excess sometimes it even seems." Shrugging lightly before a light, seemingly handling this very well and not being stressed at all by it. Of course that was years of practice and training to remain as thus...and an optimistic outlook worked too. "No need to be here? It is his home, I would say that's reason enough. To protect the place he wanted to settle down in, to protect a family he was going to start, to protect peoples that like it or not he was going to have to depend on to live and flourish. Be it through trade or what not. I would say that is a grand contadiction to his nature...one would not give up the right to be able to come back from the dead for just nothing." Well, at least he had his attention now.

"As for my incareration...no he did not set me up. Being from a semi-closed plane, when one brings someone on plane, they need a host. The host is held responsible for their guest, actions and such included. Malik didn't deviate from his normal behavior at the time and the Crest Brigade, my plane's guardians if you will, were a tad overly cautious. Rules are serious business, and toeing over the line gives them reason. It was nothing of a hardship for me I assure you. He still chastizes me for not letting him take what was rightfully his in punishment." Following that with a chuckle...Malik had his ways about him.

"Cranky is she?" Ruffling her sister's hair playfully. "Don't worry, I already know. Or at least she thought she was. You're just confirming the suspicion." Giving a smile and a little chuckle, before a blink over to Galesen. "That's what happens when you're gone. You miss all the good news. Isleandra is pregnant...and apparently making sure everyone knows how fussy that makes her. Is she still cursing whomever got her puffy?"

"Oh." Well he learned something new today didn't he? Yup sure did...he was hanging out with apparently quite influential people down here. Awesome. But a glance over to Faate as she wanted to take things one step further and he stiffened in his posture. Whoa, wasn't that too close for comfort, seeing as they could start finding things out with so many of them around? "Well...Galesen is a surface elf, and I'm part one. Look like one...it kinda makes sense."

"Malik seemed to think so. Maybe he's trying to get Galesen into a position that garners more responsibility or feels Mykorian would be better suited to stay there. After all, Galesen could give him the undivided attention that the rest of us couldn't."

So that's how he did it. and apparently he'd given that gift up to establish his empire here, as opposed to simply returning to Norrath. and he had established connections to this Andal plane, evidenced by this person in front of him.

"It's not as much of a contradiction as you might think, save this apparently sacrifice of an ability to rise again from death. though this other commentary of chastising you over a term of incarceration your served for his actions is unusual. though might in inquire as the the circumstances of this particular altercation that saw you imprisoned?"

"You mean Lateef hasn't found the poor soul and commited him to who knows what interrogations and brigade investigations and potentially beaten him to death with his own part?"

Hey Isle being pregnant was news to him. he tried not to get into the personal gossip of Isle and Piper unless it involved thier parents. before turning his attention to Kaelin.

"Relax. and if you really have to have a reason, your the first woman to take any interest in my son. it's a parent's perogative to tease thier children about the members of the opposite sex that take an interest especially when they don't know alot about the opposite sex."
PostPosted: Wed Oct 24, 2007 9:10 pm

Kaelin found herself quite at a loss for words, then leaned to the side and met Malikhai's gaze. "You've never been in a relationship before? I thought Zykariel was just joking or lying to me so I wouldn't start asking for names..." That was interesting...for sure.

Lharika giggled, "Yes, though she still doesn't know for sure whose it is. Probably won't until the baby's born and even then if he looks more like her, we'll never know." Grinning at Piper. "It's a boy, by the way. She confirmed it the other night. And Lateef is just about as happy as he can be. I think he thinks this will give her something to expend her energy on and keep her from doing some of her more dangerous stunts. We all know Isleandra is never going to get married."

Faate wasn't too pleased hearing that Mykorian apparently agreed with her mother and Malik and she frowned at her father as well though her sister stuck her tongue out at her thinking she was the one being frowned at. Faate merely crossed her arms and went silent, much the way her father did when things weren't working out in his favor.

"I think it would be good for you. Keep a reminder of home in a sense and give you a male figureheaed who could teach and mentor you. You'd probably go to Twilight for training and whatnot where the majority of your time would likely be spent. It's a pretty place and you'll absolutely adore Piper. Have you met her yet?" They'd been at the table briefly but she wasn't for sure if Mykorian and Piper had been formally introduced.

A blink or two from Galesen as the news tried to register in his head. "Isle is pregnant..." A small pause as he thought it over then shrugged lightly. "Well it was probably going to happen sooner or later. Though now I'm gonna make sure I don't head up there, don't need a grumpy Isle coming at me." A little chuckled from him before he shook his head a sighed. "Well who ever the father is he better make sure he's well hidden and hope that the child will take after his mother more." So Isle was getting puffy now. And it was a boy? Well good for her really. Galesen hasn't seen Isle in awhile, so hearing this was really shocking to him.

Kieran held up a finger. "Now you are starting to contradict yourself. If you believe him as heartless and power hungry as you keep saying, the monster you perceive him...then he would have no need and no thought to give up such things for a plane he had come to. He would rather say be damned with the plane and move onto the next, find it in better suited ways and conquer it." Kieran was sharp and he never missed an opportunity. "Simple really....a breaking of rules in Council, harmless as he may of meant it to be. A gift can be a gift but according to rules, Council was simply not the place. That and he's strong worded, if not offensive."

Well...if he wasn't sure that he was going to loose in this girl catching games before, he knew he was going to loose now. His whole image had just been dashed by a simple truth. And Kaelin backed it up with her surprise and the unease in her voice. Oh great, just great. Now his mood was going to be bad as well as his body broken. There went all that social confidence he had been stacking. Girls were evil, they really really were. "When can we go home?"

"I don't think Isle would care who the father is...she's said it more than once, she doesn't need a man in her life to take care of her or anything and I'm sure that doesn't change even with a baby in the picture." Giving a smile and a shake of her head as well as a little chuckle. "A boy...you mean someone she can play and rough house with when he's old enough." But a look over to Galesen. "Don't be so human minded, your'e talking surface elves. The probability of us getting pregnant 'by chance' is lower than dirt. It's a honest shock to anyone, but I'm sure she'll manage." Crossing her arms because women had to stick up for women then, "And don't be so insensitive. Not want to be around a pregnant woman because she may be a tad cranky...in fact that's one of the worst things you can do," turning a look to her husband, "Isn't that right Malik?" He learned right quick.

Apparently his future was being decided for him right here and now. But wasn't that what adults did anyway? If anything he was still on the ropes about things. When you were with people like that constantly...well people were going to start noticing his missing parents eventually. "Um, which one is she?" Though he'd been around the whole group, "I suppose I have." This was getting all too big for his little self to handle and so fast he couldn't dig his boots into the dirt.

"Not in the least. your right, he could simply go to another plane. however, he chose to stay here. and you are looking at the brighter side. to save them, you say. the people he would need to depend on, you say. Or I can say he did it to be able to hold that event as leverage over their heads for tribute and control. the only part that contradicts the common Tier'dal mentality...is giving up an ability as valuable to someone with a mind of control and conquest as the ability to be virtually indestructable. Even moreso with a being that reveled in bloodshed and death."

A small smirk.

"strong worded? gift giving was his crime that you were incarcerated for? that's all?"

"We may go home when you are in a condition to travel the distance without any serious problems or potential problems occuring. adn that includes your grandfather's buisness with that paladin. I'm not about to take my family toward home to be assaulted mid travel by a religious zealot."

though a glance to Galesen.

"She's right. been there, tried that. she locked me out of my own home and took to shooting at me with her bow from the battlements. Zahara had to restrain her for the good of the baby."

She was a little surprised his father hadn't tried to step in and smooth things for his son a little bit, but maybe that was for the better? She studied him carefully from her spot back in the corner, monitoring his movements and his reactions to certain things. There was a dimness in his eyes that she had a feeling came from her surprise, but she wasn't going to say anything on that just yet. She and Malikhai could always talk later, away from prying eyes and ears.

"She really doesn't. She's thrilled over having a baby, not to so much over being puffy and cranky about it. She never thought she'd get pregnant since our fertility is awful, but when she found out she panicked for about half a second and then celebrated by going sailing. I think Uncle Lateef was banging his head against the wall in the beginning because it seemed like none of her behaviors were changing. She's much better now, though."

"Red and silve hair, always wears a bandanna and is usually seen yelling at or putting D'vinn in his place. It's good for him, though. She's a surface elf by nationality but has adjusted to living down here. Galesen, too. I think it'll be fine but you have to decide for yourself. Just think about it and let him know. I'm sure it's a huge thing to consider since you're so young." Pausing a moment and checking to make sure Kelligrin hadn't managed to find something to put in his mouth. "How long are you staying at tournament, Mykorian?" Glancing at her girls. There was definitely something going on there.

Zykariel rolled his eyes and wrapped an arm around her waist. "Mom, lay off the kid. He'll figure out what he wants to do on his own time. You're just beating a dead carcass now and we all know how much you hate doing that." Crossing his arms and glancing at his family. His father was holding his youngest sister who was engaged in silent battle with his other younger sister. Various hand motions and sticking tongues out and all very childish. Kelligrin was watching something, fascinated in his little kid way and Dad was looking like he agreed with him. That worked out nicely. "So when can we go home home?"

A blink to Piper before his eyebrows shot up in surprise. Then again he did tread on dangerous ground there maybe he should be careful next time someone brings up the words pregnancy. But his eyes turned to Malik and he smiled a little at the thought before nodding a bit. "Well hearing that coming from you I'll take it with understanding." Still seeing Malik locked out of his own home? That would of been funny to see. "Well then as long as Isle's good about it then all will be well." Still Isle being pregnant, must of happen after the last time he visited which was a few months ago. Yeah he did think of her from time to time but always in wonder to what trouble she might be causing.

"So how long do you think Kieran might need with that elf Malik?" Eh a little wonder, after all if anyone could change another one's thinking it could possibly be Kieran. The elf was wise and always knew what he was talking about. Hopefully the man could get through that damn paladin's head.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 26, 2007 5:52 pm

This one just refused to see the good in Malik, didn't he? Any and all traces. It wasn't that it was not there...but that this elf simply didn't want to see it. "And yet it has been almost twenty years and he has not done it yet? I know elves can bide their time...but the underdark is sparce these days here...there aren't that many to rule over anymore and they don't need him to survive now do they?" Raising an eyebrow slightly. "Council rules are absolute. I know it seems simple and childish to you, but I'm sure there are things on your plane or thoughts you bring from your plane, that I would find silly."

And he was stuck to suffer social break down in bed with broken ribs on top of all the other pains from yesterday. Goody. His attention turned slightly to his brother, who was babbling at him about something or other that ended with a kiss to his cheek. Okay, that was odd. But cute, very very cute.

PIper crossed her arms. "You said you needed a moment away from me. I gave you six hours and made sure you were away from me. Was perfectly reasonable in my opinion, got what you wanted. Though it was funny the look on your face knowing I could've put an arrow between your eyes if I wanted." Nodding as Galesen caught the lesson and she turned a smile to Lharika as she sideglanced Kaelin, just to keep an eye on her. "I would pay to see Lateef bang his head...it's always a good laugh. I bet he's delighted that he knows where she is all the time now."

"Oh her. Well...not really met her persay." It was a tad surprising for him to know that there were still surface elves that lived down here. The sun was something they did so love. "Um, I was just going to stay till the end. And it kinda seems that's around now. I don't think winners are up to award ceremonies, if the officials can even decide who won what. One crazy tournament this year." Giving a blink as Zykariel spoke up though. "She just wants to make sure I understand."

Sevilin looked to his son once more. "I suppose if you all want, you can head home. I would say we could leave now, but with this Wyndrider fellow around, I think our House loyalty is called to front ranks. I should at least stay just in case I'm needed."

"I said a moment, not six hours. your the one that blew it out of proportion, and went ballistic on me."

pointing his finger at her.

"and your not one to talk about that...how many times did you come bawling to me because you cut a piece of meat wrong or put something in the wrong sauce and thought you'd ruined everyone's life because dinner wasn't going to be perfect."

A small raise of his eyebrow.

"Perhaps. though I have to wonder. you seem to know a great deal about Malik D'vinn. you have so far shown at least two leather bound journal. What is your stake in the outcome of this endeavor?"
