Something I am very jealous of:
My BF has a set of three katana, a long, a medium, and a short. They have plain black sheaths with a little silver dragon at the top. Nothing ornate, very tasteful, and the baldes are sharp. In fact, he pulled out the long one when we thought some one was trying to get inot the house (Friends playing a joke, long story)
Unfortunatly now they are loked in a glass case on his wall....I always wanted to strap one to my belt and walk around in puplic, just to see how long it would take me to get arrested.

A katana, a wakizashi, and a tanto. That is the samuri set. A longsword, a short sword and a dagger. The short sword was often used as an offhand weapon, while the dagger is famous for the suicide.

Musashi. Murasame, Masamune... All swordsmen. Masamune is more well known for making the sharpest edges, and Murasame is know for making the legendary evil sword (same name.)
The Masamune edge was placed in a river, and a flow of blossoms was aimed at the sword. The number of petals that were cut were an indication of how poorly crafted the weapon was, the fewer the blossoms the better the weapon. Masamune did not cut a single leaf.
Murasame was placed under that same test, and cut every single petal.
The good and the evil blades.
