Marcus grinned in spite of himself. She was turning a delicate crimson, and Marcus couldn't help himself. "Well what?" he asked. "You have to finish that sentence. You are not allowed to simply trail off."

Terryn's expression sobered a little as she dropped her gaze to her lap. "Just..." Her voice was quiet and low as if she was afraid to speak. "It is just that I was thinking of the reason you were sent to jail."

The grin faded, and lines appeared on his forehead. "Ah." Marcus swallowed, and he took Terryn's hand uncertainly. "Well. That isn't something to be ashamed of, but, more importantly, it's something to be forgotten."

Terryn nodded. "Trust me, I have tried. It is just..." She sighed quietly, looking up to make sure that nobody was around. "Something that does not leave so easily."

OOC: Oy. That explains why you haven't returned mine. My sympathies.
Marcus nodded heavily. "No, it does not." He inclined his head slightly, and he spoke softly. "Your nightmares. Are you still...?"

((yah, i hate when they do stuff to mess with me. its a conspiracy i tells ya!))
Terryn nodded quickly, as if she didn't want to think on it for too long. "Every now and then. I was fine last night, but they have been rather frequent for the past fornight or so."

OOC: Tell it like it is.
Marcus frowned. The nightmares' inconsistency bothered him. Things that weren't in his control, or not in anyone's control, for that matter, bothered him. How was he supposed to stop them if they could happen any time? Suppose--and here, Marcus's stomach churned guiltily--suppose she was never cured of the nightmares? If she had to go on living miserably plagued by those hellish, unpredictable nightmares that were really his fault in the first place? "Dr. Caius sends his best wishes," he mumbled, looking down and trying to transition into another, more pleasant subject.

Terryn nodded, picking up on his unease. Her mind not in the right state for small talk, she simply leaned against Marcus, resting her head on his chest and tracing abstract patterns on his arm using her fingertips. "Perhaps we should send Serina to him. He is rather skilled, and it will keep her far from everyone until she finally recovers."

Marcus nodded. "I will write him. And when Serina can be moved, we can go ahead and send her to him." He sighed and rested his chin on her head. "I would have thought," he began absently. "That things would be so much happier here at home."

Terryn frowned, shutting her eyes and listening to the quiet rhythm of Marcus's heart beating. "Well, they are...in a way at least. I mean, we have each other again." She played with the ring on her finger, her frown lifting slightly. "And now we have something to look forward to amidst all this chaos."

Marcus gave her a small smile. Then he actually did smile, and his grin was nearly as full as it had been just over a year ago. "Could you possibly imagine yourself in Tuscany?" he asked, beginning to laugh. "What a load of tripe."

Terryn pulled back, quirking an eyebrow with a smirk. "Excuse me? I quite enjoy Tuscany thank you very much. My father went there a few years ago and he brought me back a good deal of books."

Marcus shrugged. "They've got good wine and pretty women, but that's really all there is to it. And books? There's better books than those in Tuscany. Now, Greece. The fishing villages to the south? Those, I find most delightful."

"Really?" Terryn propped herself up, facing Marcus with interest. "Do you think that would be a nice place for a wedding? I am sure the weather there is better than it is in dreary England." She grinned. "Though I do love storms."

"It would be perfect for a wedding. It's where I had in mind. And the food and the wine and the scenery and books are just as good, if not better. You wouldn't mind it?" Marcus asked, smiling.
