And he was just the butt of the jokes tonight and there wasn't much he could do. At this point the two teengaers would probably be wrestling and trying to get each other to yield. But not this time...still felt like he had no bones.

A look to his son, hell he'd open the can of worms so to speak but was quite surprised as Malik actually spoke out to try and protect the subject they both knew Sevilin was avoiding. But he knew his son...that wouldn't suffice. "Well, not exactly son. I'm saying that if one has had a hard life that is more of the...abusive, nature in all aspects...that death can be a release from it. Like death can be a release for a prisoner who has spend all his life in a dungeon somewhere, or being tortured everyday. Not just life being hard because you have to work or live." But a nod to Malik in that silent thanks way, for heading off the brunt of the explination that should of been given.

"Several people have tried to claim I'm with him not of my own free will, and I have since proved everyone who took us to task on it, wrong. Your husband is just plain ignorant and arrogant for not seeing anyone else's point of view and foolish for not believing what his eyes can even he. His sons need no sparing, he raises them as any loving parents. Me he holds in the highest regard over anyone else in his life, he'd die for me without hesitation." Shaking her head lightly. "Some monsters are slain for good...he's blind to see that." Tapping her fingers lightly in her thinking. "What if I could get you someone who could speak on him? Who is a surface elf and wise in his own right? He may not of been there personally, but he knows all about Malik through his Communions with me. Who doesn't fear him and still knows all he's done, is, and has become. One who doubted as well but learned that he had no reason to worry? Would that suffice?"

His uncle got a frown. He hated it when he was treated like a little kid who couldn't understand simple concepts or was too fragile and he was rather surprised when his father decided to defend his statement. "Sure, I agree. When living conditions are less than favorable, death is a merciful thing, but that isn't any of our lives right now so death to any and all of us should not be a release. In fact, our deaths would mean a punishment to those who love and care about us. Wives, mothers, sisters, friends, lovers etc. Right, dad?"

"My husband may be arrogant, Fier'dal, but he is hardly ignorant. I imagine that you have been to Neriak? hmm? did you cling to his side mostly or did you see the kind of lives that those that are not so fortunate get?"

a little indignation there.

"I've seen woman that look just like you beaten and tormented to a point that they can't be parted from thier tormentor because they believe what is happening to them is for the greater good, and that they are loved by thier captor. So it is not exactly just a blunt assumption of ignorance. more oft than not, facts back that assumption."

nursing her drink a bit more.

"there are some demons that will always haunt us. some things that we'll never get over. I believe this is one of them for my husband. Since Kithcor, he has had a nearly maddening sense of wrath on the Tier'dal. I don't think neither you or I know everything. there's is probably some details, something minor perhaps to memory, that we're missing. Something that makes your husband unwilling to fight, but makes mine overzealous for the same conflict."

She gave a shrug.

"He gave his word that if he could be convinced, he would let this battle rest. that he'd let Malik of Kithcor not be this Malik here. But who knows if someone can pass the over the bar he has undoubtably set high."

Malik gave a slight grin.

"Lovers? really. and how many do you have now? trying to build yourself a harem or something, nephew?"

hey a little ribbing to lighten a dark subject, though he handed his eldest something to drink with a straw, holding it there for him. he'd been beaten to similar points before. he knew how difficult simple things got when twitching hurt.

Like regressing to being a toddler really, but he wasn't complaining and merely let his father help him as needed because let's face it, he was starting to feel worse as the pain and injuries sunk in and all the adrenaline and endorphines that had been in his system had been steadily draining adn was all but gone now in those hyping amounts.

"To us, yes you're probably right." Despite the crazy winning at the moment, "And yes, they would be punishment to those around us. But when one had no one then that rule does not apply. It's all a series of circumstances that lead to the definition of death either being a release or a punishment." Shaking his head lightly with some amusement though as Malik picked at the boy about his supposed sex life.

"Do not call me Fier'dal, that is not what I am. And I did little if any clinging in Neriak. In fact I made quite the fact of myself known, through perhaps stupid actions, but it still was enough to let others know that I was not a plaything for him." Frowning somewhat then as she had continued, "Would those women be sitting down with you now? It is not torment that makes me love him...believe me, someone has tried that angle before and he found no reward down that path, only ruin which he duly deserved. Facts may back an assumption, but an assumption should never be made in the first place." Ordering her own drink that was set down in front of her and she threw some steel on the bar in exchange. "If it is a demon that haunts him forever, then killing Malik will not make it go away either. He'll just live in a state of never knowing if Malik would come back like he did this time...he would be consumed by the thought and forver on a hunt."

Pausing a moment and looking over. "You strike me as a somewhat sensible woman, I doubt you would like that behavior from him." But there was an idea...were they both in the dark about some fact? Would Malik stand down for the sheer fact of his family or was there more? And what was that same thing, if it existed, that pushed the surface elf to near madness with his persual of Malik? But a sigh, "I'll send for him...and then I will send for you and yours when he arrives. Till then I don't want to either of you on my property or near my family without prior notification first...I don't want to have to use force to keep the peace until you both get your audience." Thusly downing her drink and getting herself up she headed upstairs to her sons room, letting Malik finish she grabbed his arm and dragged him from that room into theirs, shutting and locking the doors. Turning to him with a frown, she held out her hands to him, palms up. "I want to see Kithcor. Begginning to end with break made by you. I want to see all of it."

That made him feel far better that his father agreed with him. For a moment there he wasn't sure if his father was saying that he'd rather be dead now or something else entirely. "That's true of any and all situations. Your own perspective gives light to the ideas that you harbor and from those come your experiences, passions, delights, prejudices and your wants and needs. All of that goes into any decision you make and how you regard it as thus. Such is the nature of life and why each person lives a different one. Even within the same family or social structure."

He did give a grin to his uncle and shake his head. "Can't deal with that many women in close contact at once. It's far better to focus on one when they get that close and then move onto another." He did raise an eyebrow as his aunt more or less jerked his uncle out of the room and then turned to his best friend. "Whenever we start to annoy you, feel free to kick us out."
PostPosted: Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:11 am

He was about to make a retort when his wife came into the room and dragged him off to thier own room, and locking the door. Though his mind did entertain that this was going to be a good thing for a moment, when she turned around he knew better. crossing his arms and frowning a bit at her as well.

"What brought this on? what makes you want to see bloody kithcor all of the sudden?"

She sat and pondered the other elf's words. It might have seemed like that. after all, if he came back once, how would they know he wouldn't reemerge some other time and place? But it hadn't been an issue until the rumors had circulated that the butcher of bloody kitchor had been found to be alive in Neriak. But she got up, placing steel coin on the table and walking to her room she shared, noting her husband polishing his jousting armor. a silver set rather than gold, with his lance sitting on the corner.

"I've arranged for someone to visit you about this buisness with the D'vinns. they will contact us when they arrive. until then, please avoid any unneeded interaction or conflict, alright?"

He looked up at her, idly setting aside the polishing rag to get the buffer pad.

"There's no avoidance in the joust. but I won't do anything to stir the waters, if that's what you want. not yet."

"See, you're smarter than you come off as if you can rationalize a sentence like that and make it make sense." Shifting his hold on his youngest son a moment before a sigh, counting the time in his head. Stay away too long and Zahara would be really upset with him. A look to Malikhai and then a look back to Zykariel. "I think he can't even talk anymore and I don't blame him. Breathing and the like forces his chest to move and what not. Since you mother seems to be having an issue with your father," he knew that walk, "we'll watch Dhairiss till then. Come on Zykariel, let Malikhai try to fall into reverie. He's going to need it. I'll send Zahara over to give you another check and what not.

And his defensive posture was then mimicked by her and she had that look that spoke she was willing to face off with him if need be about this subject and wasn't going to take no for an answer and if he was going to be obstinate, he would just have to fall hard by his own stubborness then. "Because all that is happening now if because of it. He's not going to leave you alone, he can't. Something happened there with you two that no one else knows about. Only you two know it. And I need to know Malik. I have to. No secrets between us, remember?"
PostPosted: Wed Oct 03, 2007 3:00 pm

"I do have my moments." He rolled his eyes and lifted Dhairiss then walked over to Malikhai. "Dad's right. You need all the rest you can get right now, Khai. But seriously, be careful tomorrow okay? I need my wing man still around." Giving him a nod and then perching Dhairiss in the air. "Say goodnight to your brother Dhairiss. You're going to come hang out with me for a little bit in my room."

Zahara had been unable to fall into reverie, so she was merely laying there on her side, curled up and staring at the wall. She didn't know what to do, what to say, or how to make things better between them. He wasn't her Sevilin right now and that sucked.

"I didn't hide anything the last time. but if you insist on this, then fine, we'll go through it again. last time we did this you had trouble going into reverie. I just don't want a repeat performance is all."

So he moved over tot he bed, settling on it crosslegged and looked over at her.

"Well come over here and lets get started."
PostPosted: Wed Oct 03, 2007 3:46 pm

He waved to his brother. "Don't get more purple, 'kay?" Thusly letting Zykariel carrying him as he wished, clinging lightly to his tunic and merely enjoying the ride.

He was quite surprised that his son was going to watch Dhairiss, after all he ususally hated babysitting but then again Dhairiss was a rather non fussy child who was easy to handle. But he ushered the boy from the room and pulled the door shut lightly both of them walking down the hallway. "Can I get you to watch Kel for a moment too...I need to settle your mother or at least apologize for something." Like he could help it but that didn't matter to her. Handing off his youngest to his oldest he wandered back to his own room and opened the door, walking in to watch her a moment. "You may want to go check on Malikhai before he falls into reverie."

He had that jerky tone to his voice that made her just want to yell at him. Sure he never liked being told what to do more or less, but this was important and nothing was going to be right until she found out. " It was glossed over with a mix of other similar things that bred emotion of the same sorts." And now he was trying to blame her in a sense? "That's not fair Malik. You and me both know why I couldn't reverie well. I hadn't been for that past month..." Trailing off some. She still didn't like to talk about Kaden and so many things had happened right after it all had just kind of rolled together. For a moment, she let him sit on the bed by himself while she took a moment to calm down some and walked to the desk in the room, quickly penning out a letter. To the window with her and a whistle before a just of wind made that letter disappear. One step closer to setting things right. Heading over to Malik after making him wait a good fifteen minutes, she plopped across from him and assumed the same position, offering up her palms to him. "Just concentrate on that one time and nothing esle."

She pushed herself up and grabbed a robe, pulling it on and leaving the room without saying a word to him even noting that Kelligrin wasn't with him. She gave Malikhai a full check, handing him some more of that potion to dull the pain and leaving a salve that would soothe his bruises for when he came back from reverie the next morning. Everything else looked fine on him and she slipped back out and went to check on her children. Faate was awake and she jumped rather guiltily but Zahara soothed her and settled her back down, brushing a kiss over her other sleeping daughter's cheek and then knocking on her oldest's door. Coming in, she quirked a brow at the teenager who was watching his brother crawl and playing with Dhairiss. "Well, look at you. So that's where the children are."

Zykariel would have flushed if he could. "Yeah well, Piper and Malik had something to discuss and Dad asked if I'd watch Kel so there you go." He watched his mother for a moment and then shook his head. "Give Dad a break, okay Mom? He's...different right now. Thinking about things way too deep I think..."

"I'll keep that in mind." Brushign a kiss over all three boys' respective heads, she slipped back out and headed into her own room, untying her robe and dropping it over a chair then settling back in bed. "Malikhai's fine. The girls are sleeping and Zykariel's babysitting. Goodnight Sevilin." Pausing a moment as she realized how curt all of that sounded and she settled down wiht her pillow then said a little softer. "I love you."

He had been sitting on the stairs for a while now, listening to doors open and close up there. Finally deciding it was safe he creeped up the rest of the way and then headed to the door he was told to go to. Grabbing the knob, he eased it open just enough to slip through and then shut it just as quietly too. Walking over to the bed with the older girl in it, he stood back arm's length and then gave her a poke.

He was a little put off by her tone and indeed took on that guilty look but turned his face away from her so that she wouldn't see. He knew exactly why she was mad at him and trying to keep distanced from him. It wasn't pleasant on any level for him right now and now he was lacking her support on it all too. Shouldn't surprise him these days, though he was a tad surprised that she hadn't come back with Kelligrin on her hip. "Love you too..." Moving over to the desk in the room and pulling out the chair, sitting down in it with a sigh. "Should I go get Kelligrin for you?" He was going to take the simple route about this...just do what he was told and be nonconfrontational with her. He didn't like upsetting her.

Her eyes popped open in surprise and then delight and she sat up and put a finger to her lips. Tiptoeing over to the chest in the room, she pulled it open and pulled out two pillows and a few blankets as well. Gathering the bundle into her arms, she handed it over to him and then tapped the floor with her bare feet. Glancing around guiltily, she kept her voice at a whisper. "I hate to make you sleep on the floor. Do you want my bed?"

She wanted to just go to reverie and ignore the hurt he'd inflicted but she couldn't and it wasn't fair to either of them to do so. Rolling back over, she sat up and looped her arms around her knees. "He's fine. Zykariel has him and it's good for him. It's not his bedtime yet anyway." Rubbing her arms for a moment, she watched him and then sighed. "How long is this going to last, Sevilin?"
PostPosted: Wed Oct 03, 2007 6:33 pm

"That's okay, the floor is fine. I don't mind it. Besides, girls shouldn't sleep on the floor." Thusly going about making himself a pallet on the floor. At least being inside meant he was going to be warm all night and didn't have to worry about outside things. "Just make sure I get up before your parents find out tomorrow. I don't want to get you in anymore trouble."

That was surprising again, she never wanted to be away from that baby and fought with him every turn he took to try and get her to give the child and herself a little space. But just a nod to that then and quieting again. Stupid silence, made him think. He propped a boot on the edge of the desk, tipping his chair back onto two legs and balancing it as thus as he was leaning back in it. But he did turn a look over to her as she spoke again and had that upset look once more. He hated that look. "Define what 'this' is." Obviously meaning he thought there was more going on than just him being crazy, which he thought was the initial 'this'.

He lifted his hands up, and touched them to hers. focus on Kithcor, alright.

Bloody Kithcor indeed. Malik, face wearing a visage of bloodlust and violence. he rode through lines on Ramoth, eyes blazing red as the sword he was wielding, cutting down woodelves, humans, halflings and even other tier'dal with abandon. his armor dripped with blood, and ramoth was bathed in it.

shouts of battle, carnage and magical warfare abounded, even in the night. Malik was leaning on a tree, sword in hand still. meat roasted over a spit. battle was still going on, evidenced by flares of magic and screams, the clash of metal.

His own legion came under attack, a blade shining in the darkness with flame. Malik got himself up, smiling with madness that only battle can bring. thier blades met, Malik using one hand while eating.

his legion was getting cut down around him, but he was killing as easily as ever, feeding the blade that in turn lended him unnatural abilities. Malik was mocking them, his mouth moving without words as they yelled back, not becuase malik was blocking the words, but becuase the sounds of battle simply overwrote the voices.

the armies of Neriak were being pushed back. the forces against them were at an enivitable victory. but still locking blades were malik and the one called Rainmare. most of malik's forces had fallen, and most of rainmare's men had pressed forward on the attack.

finally, one could hear the sounds of voices, though as a memory thier sound was muted and echoed, a past recording.

"where are the halflings?"

"I don't take prisoners, Koada'dal dog!"

"then what did you do with thier bodies?"

Rainmare's face showed a concern for the dead. the way a man might show if a friend had died, the desire to make sure they at least got the respect the dead should get.

"Take a look around you, paladin. you'll find them."

the scene panned out, like a movie, as the high elf looked about. the trees were lined with internal organs, dressed like macabre christmas trees almost. the spitted meat got a closer look..and it's shape became more distinct. Malik had been feasting on halfing, roasted over a fire. jars scattered about, holding fingers that were becoming pickled, heads to be preserved.

"Monster! Demon!"

"But better than you."

Malik used hsi shoulder to send his enemy down over a body, and stood over him, arrogant, proud, invincible. his oppenent had tears in his eyes, but anger as well.

"don't cry. you'll be meeting them soon enough."

idly stepping down on his enemy, rasing his sword up casually for a killing stroke..before his eyes widened, making a gulping sound and looking down. his enemies blade was sticking through him..and out his back.

he stumbled back, as his enemy got up, holding the blade...Malik still had a grip on Mavolence and lifted it again to strike his enemy.

"No before I send you straight to the bowels of whatever hell you deserve!"

ripping his blade out malik's side, the tier'dal stumbling back and hitting a tree. he fell down, and still struglgled to get to his feet. the madness, the desire to kill still there. the red of his eyes starting to fade to grey, the power of malvolence fading with the massive blood pool forming at his feet.

"Just die! die! die!"

his enemy brought down the sword again, nearly severing an arm, and again upon his back, and again. the only sight left was armored feet, before things faded to darkness. that was all the memory of blood kitchor.
