She didn't think so but she'd let him think thus if he wanted to. Letting Malikhai move as slow as he needed to, she gently guided his arm over her neck and shoulder and wrapped her other arm around his waist. "I think I can handle it, Malikhai. I'm made of sterner stuff than some." Taking a moment to move slighlty so he could get in with her body motions and figure out what way would hurt hte least, she cautioned. "One step at a time. Rushing is only going to cause you more pain and injury and if you need to sit down or just lean fully on me and rest, then do it. Just warn me beforehand or we'll both topple." She knew he was supporting the majority of his weight, as much as she didn't want him to.
"I only lied to my mom. Daddy did say it was okay if you came but only because he thought she'd already said yes." Though frowning again and attempting to understand. "Nothing's permanant and some people do care regardless of whether they want to or not. Others genuinely care and really want to help. Are you going to lie to them too?" Her gaze went over to the male and she shrugged, "If she wants to talk to me, she'll come find me. Let her know I'm available, please."
She chuckled and gave a nod. "Right. They're too young and they would never do such a thing." Even though they would, and probably long before either of them wanted their baby girls to. "Perhaps. The only way we'll know if we get to know him. He seems nice enough." She ran her nails lightly over his palm and then nodded. "She seems to have taken a liking to him and he's all alone here at the tournament which probably means he only has a certain amount of steel and she's trying to take the strain off by letting him eat a meal with us, I guess? It's interesting though, a surface elf-drow pairing...other than the D'vinn's and they really don't count because Piper is half drow in her mind."

"Malikhai offered the observation once. seemed to work that way too."
A slight chuckle.
"Lord, general, prince...well prince and general are both a fluff title and one that is long dead to most. I'm not general anymore except over our own army. though I do like lord. fits me I think, as much as Lady fits you."
a glance at her crossing her arms.
"Not always. but it is a centuries old habit sometimes. and I look out for you too. you can always use a bit of pleasurable fun."
pinching her cheek a bit.
Onyx tilted his head a bit. okay that would work.
"Yes, yes he should. hmm..you know, I'm a bit hungry. want a churros? thier a food from where I come from, I had Uncle Saradin send me some for tournament food. thought I could sell some and eat some. they're really good."
He glanced between them both.
"I'll let her know. as for you, son...shine her saddle after your through brushing her, and that'll be all. once that's done, you'll get your payment. I'll go let my wife know about your willingness to meet her."
and he left them alone, going to find his wife who was wherever it was she went to.

"I would definitly say that about you." Heh, well this was nice. Get your a** handed to you and suddenly girls cared. Now how did that work? Though it did make sense, mom did tend to fuss over dad when he got all banged up. But he let her position him as needed and soon enough he was letting her support most of his weight as they left the area and started heading back to the tavern. Yup, felt like he had no bones for sure. "You sound like you've done this before, help all the tournament boys who get themselves banged up?" Grinning at her to hide the cringing as they had tackled inn stairs.
"Well that means you lied to him to. It's the same thing." Pre-teens, cute. "Yeah I'll lie to them too. No ones cared enough before now and I was really little then. I don't need to be babied by someone else who feels sorry for me." Shaking his head lightly at her words, trying to make sure he denied them in his head as much as he was really trying to. He was raised on the surface, he knew how things were when it came to people wanting to play house with you. "Yes Sir." Nodding and then taking to finishing brushing the horse and duly onto the saddle shining. Hm, arm was aching a little. "Look, no one likes handouts."
"Why are we getting to know him?" Blinking red eyes at his wife in that way he did that said 'waste of time and or energy'. "Of course she's taken a liking to him, he's shy and easily coused, and she has an innate leader quality to her rather than follower." So technical sometimes, Sevilin. "I doubt this parents would send him with less than enough steel." But a chuckle as Zahara never ending ideal that Piper thought she was drow...and he agreed. Crazy little surface elf, maybe that was why he didn't try to maim her anymore and was nice to her sometimes...crazy respected crazy after all. "Happens. Probably Vesendar drow that went topside. After all, that's where all the surface elves went. Well...the scant few that were here."
She gave her own light chuckle to him. "Flatterer...we both know I'm far less refined than you. After all, I'll still go climb trees and you barely will get your boots dirty." But raising a hand to playfully slap at his own as he pinched at her, "If I recall, I'm the one giving you that fun moreso. After all I make noises," Making the gold in her eyes flick simply because she could, and a slight diversion of look before a nod of her head in the direction of her son and his friend, "What is it about men who can't move that makes us women want to help...and we rarely get appreciation of it. Hopefully I've taught him better than that at least." Lightly shaking her head. "We need to get our youngest, I don't like him being awayfrom me in this forsaken place."
A blink and tilt of his head. "Yeah I'm hungry." And he didn't know what a churro was, but apparently Onyx did and he was being assured that it was a good thing. "Yes." Thusly holding out a little hand expectantly as any child who was told he was going to be given something to eat.

Chuckling she shook her head. "Are you agreeing with me because you believe it or because you're trying to get on my good side? Either way, I think I appreciate that." She'd already asked his room number and was slowly moving down the hallway, the innkeeper before them unlocking his door and she stepped in with him. "On the bed?" Going quiet, she bit her lip. "I have. My mother used to need help."
Okay, he wasn't going to admit he might need someone so she chose a different tactic. "No. No one does like handouts but everyone likes safety. It's not safe running around down here at such a big event without someone who knows where you are and what you're doing. What happens if you get attacked? It's not uncommon for champions to be challenged outside of the ring where no true rules are, you know. Besides, you got your medal stolen, didn't you?"
She just patted his arm gently. "Why not? Faate's taken a shine to him so he's going to be around more often and if he lives down here, even more often. I would like to know those my daughter is hanging around with and be sure that I can trust him with her." She knew Sevilin still had issues with trusting elves with surface attached to them but for her daughter's well being he was goign to have to get over that. "Rare to see a surface elf down here anymore. Maybe that's why the flashy showboater got so muchy attention." Leaning against him more fully, she finished off her daughter's hair. "What did you want to do for dinner tonight?"

"That's because I don't like to get as dirty as you do. and yes, you give me lots of fun and enjoyment."
then a slight smirk.
"Maternal instinct. you know, protect the weak and injured, nurse them back to health thing that all women have instinctively. Or it could be that she likes him and just wanted to touch blue skin."
A slight grin at her and sweeping her up into a kiss, just because.
"alright, we'll get the youngest."
Onyx duly handed over the long twisted fried dough stick, that was smothered in sugar to the child, and taking to eating one for himself out of a bag of them.
"Thier great and tasty. you'll love it."

"It's true. Some women start to freak out and stuff about things like this. Screaming and running around and stuff. Especially when I'm turing colors that one may think unnatural and the like." Cringing again and taking it easy as possible. "Yeah, bed it good." Letting her help him over to the bed and he plopped down on it heavily, not caring for his positioning for the moment. Oh this was going to suck later...and he couldn't even brag that he had a girl in his room alone. Damn. Propping his pillows, he plopped back against them. "Your mother needed help?" Quickly realizing that that may be taken wrong, "You must be a great help around the house." Good cover.
"I've done it for three years now." Shrugging lightly and still polishing the saddle that was resting on his lap. How come she cared so much? No one had ever really cared before and when they had, they weren't really dependable after a while. "Actually...I sold it."
"Scare him into being able to trust him." Always wanting to do things the hard way too, but he merely sighed and shook his head, already knowing that he wasn't going to win long beforhand. Sometimes though it was a good thing that he knew when to not take her on. Saved them both some trouble. "Dinner....well you can pick what you want. I'm not eating, my stomach feels trashed." Not uncommon when the crazy started to win.
Another roll of her eyes. "Some dirt would do you good. You and that blue skin of yours that you passed along to your first born, you're just all ego fluffed over it. But I wouldn't call it maternal instinct when you alternatively kill said men at the same time." Though personally it made her laugh, seeing as she was immune to Malik's ego and the like. Though yes surprised at sudden affections, but it was pleasing none the less. "Come on you, before you start getting us into trouble." Thusly heading back to the stands and raising an eyebrow at her son.
He was busy munching away on his new treat, sugar all over his hand and cheeks by this point and still munching away with a good portion of it left. Dhairiss gave a grin to Onyx, as well as a giggle. "It's good!" Sucking some sugar off of his fingers with another giggle and then a look to his parents. "Mommy daddy look!" Holding up his treat.

"Well, I think you pull the purple off quite nicely. Make it somewhat manly at the very least." Gently helping him pull his boots off and tucking him into the bed. She wasn't going to help him change because that would just be awkward for all. Sitting down on the edge of the bed she nodded. "Various reasons. Sometimes she was drunk, sometimes she was too weak to move and other times she'd gotten herself handed to her." Clearing her throat for a moment, she turned back to him. "How about some soup or something to help give you strength. You have to be feeling hungry after all that energy was zapped from you."
"Three years. Well, I'm impressed but that doesn't mean you're safe and I'd feel much better if you were." She paused a moment, uncertain of what to say and then just laughed. "Those boys were telling the truth? Never thought I'd hear of it." A shake of her head and she picked up a brush and started helping him. "For steel for food? Lodging? Something you wanted more?" She badly wanted to ask what had happened three years ago but she sensed he'd just clam up on her and that wouldn't be good.
"Always force when it's outside your own family. What happened to my gentle Raven?" Which was an oxymoron in itself because ravens just weren't gentle creatures. Harbingers of death truth be told though that wasn't why he'd earned the nickname. A frown at the knowledge he wasn't up to par. "Are you getting sick? Perhaps you should go lie down or just eat some soup tonight. I can make you a bit of broth to help settle it..."

"dirt is your thing, I have to be the stuffy lord of the manor more oft than not and make sure you don't hurt yourself."
before glancing at the treat hsi son was holding, and looking over to Onyx.
"I'm going to kill you later."
Onyx looked up at the parents, and gave a grin.
"See, no harm done...want a churros?"
holing a couple up to them.
"Thier pretty tasty. you remember Saradin, right piper? he made them. I thought about vendoring them but hey, thier good treats too."
She walked to the stable area, easily able to spot wildfire from the rest that were mostly black anyhow.
"Hello you two. getting along alright? She's a gentle creature, but that doesn't mean she can't be moody."

He chuckled. "Thanks, much different opinion than what Zykariel has." Of course this was all a little awkard for him but he figured that he was handling it well enough...he at least wasn't looking stupid. Then again he probably didn't have the energy to look stupid right now anyway. "Mm, sounds like you're quite busy at home." Well...there was the awkwardness...were you supposed to talk about those kinds of things. "I'm not keeping you from her now am I? I mean you mentioned that hse was here to compete. I'd hate to come between family and the like." Cringing as he shifted somewhat. "Food sounds good...think I could eat a dragon."
He blinked, not sure why she was laughing at first. After all...why would she be laughing at all of this. But he was told soon enough and then it seemed to make sense...she had stolen from those that had more or less stolen it from him by making him cheat himself out of steel. "Food, clothes, you know...everyday things. It's what I've done every year. But it is nice to be able to keep one of my awards this time." Smiling at her lightly, after all he wouldn't have it if it wasn't for her. "Tip, don't sell your medal." His eyes turning up as the woman they both knew yet didn't approached them. "She's doing fine."
"Same thing that happens to my Sweetheart when she's suddenly having a bad day." Grinning to his wife as he played the words back at her on his own level. But then he shook his head at her other questions. "Not sick, but I'm just not feeling well. But if you want to play doctor...I'm pretty sure there's no way I can really stop you, can I?" Chuckling lightly at her before pressing a kiss to the top of her hair.
"Sometimes I can get you dirty. All in the approach in which I come to you with, doesn't it? When you really want something, you'll get messy if you're desperate enough." And watching their son...that was sugar on his fingers, wasn't it. Taking one of the offered things, she looked it over as well. "He's eating something with this much sugar on it?" Oh good lord. But hey try anything once right? Thusly a bit for her and a look to Malik. "Arguabley, it is good. And rightly so if Saradin made them. Though still...that's a lot of sugar. You ever see a bouncy little elf, Onyx?"
Indeed, he was already well on his way to wired off of sugar...especially since her regularly didn't eat sugar on mass scales. He barely ate cookies and the like and now here he was with more or less a sugar stick. Giggle on his part and back to munching.

"No, she won't compete until tomorrow sometime before the jousting occurs. Besides, I don't think she'd care too much if I watched or not. I've seen her do it hundreds of times before." She was rather relieved that he didn't pry or ask any questions about the information she'd revealed and smiled brightly. "Well, give me about ten minutes and I'll bring you enough food to fill you for the next three weeks!"
Hopping up, she scurried out of the room and down the stairs, ordering food, then walked back up, arms laden with a tray and two more behind her with the same. "Here we are. Every kind of meat you could possibly want, a few vegetables, some bread to soak up the juices with...you name it, it's here. There's plenty for your family when they get back as well." Holding an empty plate for a moment before she began loading it up and then handed it to him. "Now, eat."
"The truly important things in life. I guess it kind of makes you figure out real quick what you can and can't live without." Gently stroking the horse's tail before looking over to the female surface elf. Bowing her head in respect of her elders, she gave a nod. "She's a real beauty. My mother would love her on sight. Well-mannered too." Pausing a moment, she set down the brush and moved a little closer to the woman. "Your husband mentioned that you wanted to talk to me? I didn't read the note but gave it to my mother."
"Touche. It's scary when that happens too." Gesturing to her daughter to stand up since there was no reasont o watch the archery competition. "I just worry...I know that irritates you sometimes but I'd feel better if I could possibly do something for you. And if your stomach is really trashed then you can't handle solid food right now but you need to keep up your strength. Atrophying is just not attractive, even on you." Running her nails over the back of his tunic lightly in comfortable gesture. "Come on kids, let's go back to the inn and we'll figure out dinner. Anyone seen Faate?"

"Do kelves count?"
giving a grin to piper and a look to malik.
"come now, little kids wired on sugar ain't that bad. and how is your oldest boy? everything alright with him?"
Malik smirked.
"Of course you say that. you don't have to try and get him to sleep. and Malikhai is alright. though I'm getting him some extra padding for jousting."
looking at his wife.
"and your just as bad. show you something sugary or cinnamon flavored, and you get all soft on me."
She gave a small smile to them both.
"you both did very well in the younger ortion of the tournament, and I wanted to congradulate you both on your skill and learning. but or you, my dear, I have other more important questions about your knowledge of the D'vinn family."
though she pupulled Faate a bit away, with a small frown.
"My husband, as you might have surmised, has a exceedingly longstanding hatred for Malik D'vinn. born out of an honorbound duty that he gave himself over atrocites he saw in a great battle, that have haunted his reveries to this day. I'm looking for anything that can be proven or said that can reverse this image, or soften it."

He was...not quite sure what just happened there but apparently it was a good thing. Or at least he thought it was a good thing. Zahara liked to shove food down throats when he cared. Was it sad that he only had his mother and a woman deemed his aunt to pull comparison from? Eh, it was working for right now. Taking the plate from her with a smile he set it on his lap so he didn't have to hold it...arms were getting sore on him from swinging. But this was indeed an interesting situation for him. "Thanks Kaelin...I appreciate you taking some time out for me." Everyone loved appreciation. But yes fork in hand he did dig into his food...figured he might as well stuff himself while he could still move and digest properly. "Going to watch the rest of the tournament tomorrow?"
"Mostly." And going quiet as the woman came over and pulled Faate aside, and he merely continued in shining up the saddle he was told to. Didn't take too much trouble and he was setting it back on the stall soon enough, giving the horse another once over with the brush.
He couldn't help but turn an affectioante smile to her...despite how she talked him into things like this. "Alright, I'll eat something light if that will settle your own worries over me. I guarentee you I'm not going to waste away. That takes at least two weeks before that starts." Shaking his head lightly and giving a sigh. "I think she's off with that boy still...where was he going again?"
"No kelves do not count." Shaking her head lightly and then giving a grin to Malik as well, who was now the subject of prodding. "Speaking of which, you get to indeed deal with the little one tonight. As caring a father as you can be, you still can't dish out sympathy like I can and your oldest will be seeking it." Shaking her head lightly, and then hitting him with the churro in her hand. "So I'm giddy over cinnamon...You used to use that against me." Then a point to Onyx. "He is however getting now stick sugar all over your fur."

"No problem. I'm happy to do it." She didn't eat since she wasn't really hungry and merely settled onto the end of the bed, curling her legs beneath her and watching him but not in a way that would come across creepy or make him self-conscious...she hoped. "I think so. There's not much else to do around here until the tournament ends in all it's glory. You are jousting tomorrow, aren't you? Even though you are probably bruised all over..."
Faate frowned at the woman as she led her away from Mykorian and glanced back at him once to make sure he wasn't leaving or anything. She wasn't quite sure how to answer that question since she wasnt' too sure on Malik herself. His words regarding those special rooms and the cold tone still managed to give her shivers and she hadn't really gotten close to him. "He loves my aunt and his sons...and he doesn't have slaves anymore. My Daddy told me he used to before he married Aunt Piper. He doesn't hit her and he likes to hug Dhairiss and Malikhai." Frowning, "Does that help? Oh, he actually listens to my little sister adn sometimes she just talks forever but he doesn't even look upset when he's doing it."
Two weeks...if he went that long without eating she'd kill him herself. He knew better. "You better not. I need that strong male back you've got for all sorts of things. If you wasted away how in the world would I get my napkin rings down?" Letting Sevilin get Kelligrin, she helped Lyssie down from the risers and glanced around the grounds. "Mmm, send a note to his parents to let them know that he was eating with us, I believe."

"what do you mean used to? I still do use it against you when I see a need to. my cinnamon fiend."
before an annoyed little grunt about being stuck playing with teh youngest all night in teh game of lets go to sleep. wonderful.
"I thought as much. speaking of our oldest, I haven't seen him, zykariel, or that young lady leave the healing area, have you?"
Onyx gave a shrug.
"Then nope, not me."
before noting the sticking sugary mess that the youngest was making on his pristine black fur. Oh great, just great. now he'd have to probably take two or three baths to get all this out.
"Better than him screaming and crying though."
"It helps a little, sweetheart...but I don't think it's going to be enough. would anyone else in your family know better or anything that can give a more...detailed description? I really don't like putting pressure on you, but those two are on a collision course. I don't want to see anything hapen to either of them."
Yes she didn't want to risk losing her husband, and she didn't want to leave those two kids without a father either. and that seemed to be the way things were starting to progress. the past needed to die between those two.

Hm learning experience here, after all how often did this happen? Though at the moment he wasn't too enthusiastic seeing as he was all achey and what not. He was rather happy to manage food for the moment without complaint from any of his body, quite sure that he may not have that lecture later. "Yeah I am, depite the bodily aches and the like. We're just going to pad my armor a little more so it doesn't beat me up again." And then just hope for the best rather than fear potential loss. Hooking two fingers under the collar of his tunic, he looked down at himself under the fabric for a moment with a smirk. "All over is just about right I think."
"You have a strapping young son to fetch your up high things for you if you needed him to. Or you'd just climb, don't give me that helpless thing. I know that you are far from it." Grinning at her and shaking his head lightly, making sure to have a good hold on his son as they made their way down. "Well then, suppose that if you found him then you would find her." Scribing a rune a moment to give out a little ping or sorts to her. Common rune magery communication. "I'll let you make me eat light tonight...don't worry."
She gave a laugh and rolled her eyes lightly. "Yes, your cinnamon fiend." Shaking her head before one of those little melodramatic shock looks and she narrowed her eyes at him at that noise of his. She knew what that noise was. "I knew it. And you were soooo willing earlier. 'Chev how come you didn't wake me up to help when he was wearing you out. Ha! I caught you in a lie Malik D'vinn." Shaking her head again she walked over to Onyx and reached down, picking Dhairaiss up and pressing a kiss to his sugary cheek, to which he more or less giggled. "Kaelin took Malikhai back to the inn I believe. Zykariel...well I don't know where he ran off to." Giving a look to Onyx then as well. "Yes, good job on keeping the sad away. He's not used to being away from use too much."
