Callivo Ord'Mantrell Stay outta my way, Humans In the woods surrounding the ruins of the Xavier Mansion branches creaked and leaves fell to the forest floor. Something, or someone, was moving in the trees towards the expansive ruins. At the edge of the treeline, the creaking branches and falling leaves stopped.
Not that they were looking, but a trained pair of eyes might catch a slight sheen of red within the plethora of green. An even better pair of ears might catch the soft grind of well-oiled, machined parts that belonged to a high tech ballistic weapon. Without any warning, a gloved finger squeezed the trigger and a small, but powerful rocket launched from the barrel of the weapon and screamed over the ruins of the school.
As it roared over the remains, the rocket had several compartments that opened and flung hundreds of small orbs over the entire area. The now empty rocket fell and smashed into a slab of stone, leaving it's trail of silver balls.
To the untrained eye, they were just small ball bearings that failed at whatever their purpose had been. They were, however, tiny explosive grenades linked to a detonator that was now being held in the same hands that launched the rocket. One thumb pressed on the red button and simultaneously all of the little orbs detonated.
Hundreds of explosions, while relatively small, rocked the compound beneath the ruins. A few of the grenades just so happened to have landed near a hidden entrance and blew it open. Any alarm system in the underground compound would have been tripped and the person, or persons, responsible for the explosions were likely on their way into the compound.

The multiple explosions shook the underground facility of the X-Men. In the infirmary, a young woman woke up from being battered around earlier.... Professor Xavier looked toward Barbara Gordon with a look of concern, "Miss Gordon, I believe someone is here."Barbara's blue eyes widened, "I.O.?""Not sure..."Walking past Xavier and Oracle, a tall muscular redhead strode up to them in a green outfit that was bare on her long legs, "You two, find someplace safe. Point me in the right direction, and I'll hold them off. Call the Calvary please."Xavier looked up toward Caitlin Fairchild and pointed, "Go down D block. Be careful."Caitlin gave a nod, but the outward calm assurance couldn't quite quell the nervous butterflies in her stomach. But in her mind, she noted all the people here that were vulnerable... and she realized that she herself was the only line of defense. Breathing a long breath, Caitlin calmed her nerves a bit, "Alright, I'll handle this."With a grim determination, Caitlin took off toward D block in search of the the insurgents.... Nishito_Kanzaki This aught to be interesting.

Callivo Ord'Mantrell Stay outta my way, Humans As the smoke cleared from the ruins the scream of twin rockets sounded from the tree line. The person responsible for the Carpet Bomb Rocket was flying with the aid of a jetpack towards the now open hatch.
Landing with a heavy crunch, the armed and armored intruder checked his rifle one last time, loading a shell into the undermounted grenade launcher. With his weapon at the ready, the mercenary dropped into the hatch and landed in a crouch, weapon at the ready.
He spun around to check behind him for a target before standing and moving forward. The armored intruder moved quickly and quietly, rifle at the ready and checking every corner before moving through the intersecting hallways. He had been supplied with a basic layout of the underground base, but he soon realized that it was greatly outdated. To complete his objective the Mercenary would have to improvise.
Taking a corner slowly, the red-armored mercenary saw a tall woman in a very revealing leotard. He hesitated for a moment, but knew she was likely one of the Mutants he'd heard of, The X-Men. Not hesitating for another minute, the armored intruder open fired, letting a flurry of energy based projectiles speed towards the redhead. If she wasn't one of those invulnerable or energy absorbing mutants, the projectiles would melt flesh and bone when and if they hit her.

The energy shots peppered Miss Fairchild, who held up her hands to protect her face, Found him...Now he tells me..., Caitlin laments mentally while getting an idea where this guy is blasting her from -- not so much see the armored assailant but seeing the course of the energy blast that are pummeling her invulnerable hide. The fire was painfully hot, "Rrraaagghhhh!!! I've had enough of this!!!!"All of a sudden, Fairchild wasn't just standing there taking it.... She was charging!!!

Callivo Ord'Mantrell Stay outta my way, Humans The intruder moved backwards down the opposite hallway. putting the intersection between him and the redhead. His rifle never ceased firing as she closed on him, but he adjusted his aim to her legs to try and trip her up.
Just before Fairchild reached the intersection, the crimson-armored assailent slid his finger over the trigger of the grenade launcher and squeezed. The thick projectile sped into the intersection and released it's payload; A neoprene-nylon net that would snare and entangle it's target, Caitlin Fairchild, if she couldn't escape it.

More energy shots struck Caitlin's thighs causing a bad burning sensation. While the blasts didn't permanently harm the amazonesque redhead, they did hurt. Trying to ignore the pain, the redhead kept her legs running forward to close the distance to the soldier-of-fortune. However, once she did reach the intersection, that was when the neoprene net engulfed Fairchild. That was a surprise, Caitlin was expecting more explosions, not falling in a heap in the entangling net. She failed? Every one behind her was counting on her, and she can't stop one armored goon with guns. Green eyes looking up at the armored mercenary intending harm to a generous man in a wheelchair who had offered to help her. Heroes were rescuing her friends and this mercenary is trying to kill the kind professor... Something within Caitlin snapped. The startled expression was replaced with one of rage, and the amazonian redhead gripped the net in front of her face -- beginning to pull in opposite directions to rip the net webbing apart and stand back up.

Callivo Ord'Mantrell Stay outta my way, Humans The mercenary chose to change tactics with the woman and slung his rifle on his back before charging himself. His armor clanked slightly as he closed with the temporarily downed heroine. When she got the net off of her, Caitlin would find the man's knee swinging up to her face.
Knowing that she would be distracted from the net and probably hurting from his armored knee to her face, the armored mercenary ignited his jetpack to open some distance between them. As the he was propelled back, the intruder aimed his left hand at Caitlin and activated a small flamethrower, engulfing the hallway in flame.
Landing in a backwards skid, the armored Mercenary unsheathed a wicked looking knife, reminiscent of a Japanese Tanto. He waited to see if the redhead would emerge from the burning hallway.

Caitlin's head snapped sideways from Ord'Mantrell's knee strike. For a moment, the tall auburn haired woman was dazed. As she recovered, the mercenary's jet wash blew across her face. Although she had no marks on her skin, Fairchild's costume was looking worse for wear. When the flamethrower engulfed the hallway in the armored trooper's retreat, automatic sprinklers started to shower the hallway with water to extinguish the flames. Caitlin was figuring that this guy was simply trying to stay at a distance from her, but had an idea... When the flames died down from the overhead spray, it exposed the flying door that was torn from its moorings and launched at him.....

Callivo Ord'Mantrell Stay outta my way, Humans The armored intruder had a fraction of a second to react and twisted to the right. The door clipped his shoulder and spun him round till his back faced Caitlin. His shoulder was at the most dislodged from the socket, but it might be more bruised than broken. Rolling his shoulder, the mercenary grunted in pain when a loud, grinding pop resounded from the joint.
Standing up, he turned back to Caitlin and stared through his visor at her. Pulling one of the grenades from it's pouch, Cal switched it's function to immediate detonation and ran towards the redhead. When he reached halfway in the distance between them, the grenade ignited and released a noxious fog of chemical gas. The gas to normal humans would knock them out and had a possibility of killing them. To this Metahuman, the mercenary had no idea how it would effect her.

The Amazonian redhead immediately began coughing vehemently from the chemical grenade practically exploding in her face. Caitlin tried to backpedal away from the assault. In an effort to try to limit her breathing the chemical junk, Fairchild tried to cover her mouth. However, it became apparent to the attacker that the grenade was beginning to have an effect on the statuesque redhead. Caitlin tried to catch yourself as she's slid down to her bare knees and fall face first on the floor. While she did seem like she was still conscious, Fairchild seemed unable to get herself up off the floor. Nishito_Kanzaki Sorry, been trying to balance between school, work and RP.

[[A transmission from Gotham came through for Oracle. It was by an all too familiar male teen's voice.]]
"Hello, Watchtower, Oracle, this is Robin."
He sounded slightly winded but otherwise urgency dominated his tone.
"We've got some pretty bad news. The Gotham 'base' has been compromised. Tell anyone you can get a hold of to stay away, it's location has been outed. Do not come back here."

Barbara just managed to hobble back into the X-Men War Room in time to hear Tim's broadcast. With Charles Xavier hovering in behind her, Oracle closes and locks the thick door. The redhead opens her comm, "Read you loud and clear, Robin. We have a problem here too. A well armed armored super soldier is attacking here with the trying to get at Professor Xavier.... And the Professor just told me that Miss Fairchild just went down trying to fight this guy. We just locked ourselves in the War Room. I'm sending a message to Cyclops shortly. What is your sitrep? Did everyone get away from the attackers?"

Alexander "Alexi" Stark Romanov Let me wrap my arms around you Suffer the Trespasses that you‘ve made I will take your pain away, forever and a day If you‘d just call out my name, just whisper it §▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲ He was finally able to transform back to his human self, but the weariness was apparent on his face from the stress on his body as he quietly escorted Sun into the Institute building, his body almost collapsing as he sat down on a couch with sleep lines furrowed under his eyes while they continued observing Shang, if she decided to either sit or stand it didn't matter. The fact of the matter was that Alexi was quite intrigued in the woman before him, herself being just as much of an oddball as he was. Mysterious... He almost just wanted to quit everything and fall asleep...or go get some food but he had to keep an eye on the girl and wait for the debriefing. ▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§ When you feel that something‘s wrong I‘ll shelter you and keep you warm I‘ll never let you walk alone I loved you when you still hated me

Dundee Rogers smiled as he made it back to Xavier's. Was a good feeling being away from the battlefield. He also stayed in the room, checking his cell phone.
A few texts, a voicemail, and a few other things. Gonna have to call Arell and Kai later. See what's going on with them. he thought as he sat down. He still had to brush up more on his Chinese, but by the looks of Alexi and Sun, it'd be a while before they could have good calm conversation.
