"I already sent the papers this mornin for your withdrawl, no worries you won't have to be called in on not upholding your bargain or anything. Besides, you're making it up with your racing as it's half integrated into the tournament." Watching his daughter, good for her making sure to remember that evasion was indeed a form of defense and not something to be ashamed of. Taking hold of his son's arm and the cup in one hand, so the banging would stop as well as that 'I'm gonna throw it!' tensing. "Sissy is in a competition, she can't have help."

Brakes! He slammed his heels down into the dirt as she sent a wave of it into his face to hinder him for the moment. Crafty girl, even more crafty as she caught him in the back of the knees and he reflexively dropped to them, but not missing a beat he ducked forward and rolled forward to avoid a follow up blow and popping back up. Slapping his hands together he pulled them apart and formed and arch of energy, taking hold of liek one would a bow...and pulled back an arm, releasing his fingers again in same weapon fashion, a bolt of energy screaming from the 'bow' and right to Shyrae. He had lots of tricks up his sleeves.

He stared at his father in wonder for a moment. "You were that certain I wasn't going to want to compete? I don't know whether to be insulted or just figure that you know me a little better than I thought..."

He stared at his father for a moment and then shook his head, his lower lip trembling. "But...Sissy mine!" Flailing as he tried to reach out for her. "I help. I help. Daddy help?"

She was revving up for her own attack and it was a little too late to dodge it when that bolt of energy came screaming at her. She'd already released ten small balls of energy as the bolt slammed into her and knocked her flat on her back several feet away from where she was standing. Lying there unresponsive for a moment, she finally lifted her staff and waved it, directing her balls to complete their attack. They'd been merely flying in different directions heading towards him but now they were systematically eating each other until there were two rather large ones of blue crackling energy flying straight at him.

Zahara had to be literally held back as her daughter was slammed into the ground and everyone waited to see if she was going to get up. Seeing that arm lift as the staff was raised, she relaxed slightly though not enough to be let go. She had to get up and keep going or they were going to call the match.

"You were quite adamant about not doing it earlier, and you're not a fighter. At least not a competitional one, you're a racer. It's looked down on competetors with they don't show up for events, so I decided to head that off so to speak. I'm not as ignorant as you think I am, son." Cringing lightly as his daughter was knocked down. "Get up Faatallon..." Said quietly and almost to himself. If she didn't get up it was a loss for her. Again gently holding his toddler. "You can love on her when she's done. Till then you need to cheer for her, so she can win."

One of those balls were taken out by another enery made arrow, but his specialy wasn't archery and the other managed its way to him, clipping him in the shoulder and sending him skidding into the dirt. For a few seconds he lay there before forcing himself to his hand and knees, then to a crouch, one hand holding at his shoulder, the rest of his arm looking quite limp. Well...he wasn't going to be using that arm anymore today. A grit of teeth to hide pain and he pushed to his feet, energy flaring on his being, creating an aura like apperance to himself...but he waited for her to stand. There was no honor in striking the downed.

"That was mostly becasue I was upset about beng forced into it and not able to make my own decisions regarding it." But he was right about Zykariel not being a fighter. And as his sister was knocked down, he once again confirmed that belief. He reached out and held Lyssie's hand since she looked scared, tugging her pigtailed braids gently. "She'll be fine."

He watched and gave a giggle as various cracks and slams sounded through the arena. Clapping his hands happily he threw them into the air. "Boom!"

As her magics completed their attack, she pushed herself to her knees for a moment, spat out some blood and then climbed to her feet. Realizing she had some time to make up for since he already had something going, she focused and sent a tidal wave of energy straight towards him.

"Well, if anything, you've learned from this that you need to indeed read everything no matter what anyone else says." Giving his son a nod and then ruffling his toddler son's hair at his excitment. "I bet you that someone's down there restraining your mother."

A wave of his own energy sped to meet hers, the two forces clashing in the space between them, sizzling as each tried to take over the other before overloading each other and disippating in a small magic explosion that pushed both back on thier feet in the dirt. But he was still standing, however it was rough going with one arm to work with. But he gathered another ball of energy in his hand, flicking his wrist and sending it at her, followed by a few more in quick succession. No, not going to go down easily.

He chuckled, "Oh I know there is. I'm kind of surprised you didn't volunteer for the job since you could calm her down faster than anyone else." A glance at the other two. "I could have watched those two if you'd wanted to you know."

Those two forces meeting said a lot about their power levels and that they were pretty evenly matched. Sending her own magic back at him, she dodged a few of the balls though in the dodging, she slid on the sand and twisted her ankle. Pushing back to her feet, she lifted her hands and formed energy almost into drops, raining down around him. She wasn't going to be fast enough to dodge his attacks so she'd have to take him out or admit defeat.

"Didn't want to force you to watch them, I know you get easily irritated. Besides, I also know that you never stay in one place for long and I'm sure your mother would just worry if she knew you and the little ones were among the crowd and what not. She's going to be upset enough by all of this." Gesturing to the arena where Faate was taking a beating but still standing.

He managed to dodge a bit, but he was getting himself tore into pretty bad too and since they were both starting to drain, decisive moves had to keep being made. Getting down to all or never. Rolling out of her little rain he braced his feet and made a lunge for her person, swiping an arm inches from her and sending out another wave to energy. He knew he was going to get himself in the process from being so close, but he knew this was his last ditch effort anyway.

"Half of that is just show for various reasons, Dad. I'm really quite laid back. Ask Malikhai." Unless you messed with Destyny or his family that was. "You're going to have your hands full keeping her from going after that kid. He's really giving it to her."

She threw up a barrier in reflex the moment she saw him coming for her but with her large scale attacks growing in number and the suprising amount of injuries she'd already sustained, she didn't have the energy to keep it going or strong enough and the tail end of that burst of magic clipped her hard, shoving her down on her a**. She paused a moment and then gave a sigh, tossing down her staff in gesture of admitting defeat. It would be foolish to continue this since she didn't have it in her to get out another attack and she had a feeling he did. "Congratulations..."

Kelligrin listened to the crowd go crazy and he clapped right on along. "Yay Sissy!" Thus turning to look at some of the others around them who were cheering before tugging on his father's braid. "Sissy come play Kelli now."

Zahara watched as the final announcements and such took place and both her daughter and the boy were congratulated multiple times. The boy was handed a medal but so was Faate and then they were helped off the field. She wasn't allowed to heal her own daughter so she took care of the boy's injuries instead. "Fought a good fight and came out the victor. You did well." Thus testing various parts of his body to make sure they could still move.

"We'll see son." Watching as they were starting into those desperate tired moves that young mages often fell into quickly. "He should be, if you're in a competition then you should be putting forth your fullest effort." Watching as she tried her best, but it seemed she was being wise about things...besides, no one could fault her for that loss, she had put that boy on her last leg." Another ruffle at his son's hair. "Yes yay indeed, and yes we can go see your sister." A look to Zykariel. "Coming?"

He was on his knees and half expected her to get back up, but it seemed she decided that she had had enough and gave to him the victory. Giving her a nod in acknowldgement, he forced himself back to his knees, shaking from exertion and adrenaline all at the same time. "You too. Good show. Nice to have some competition." Accepting his prize with show of 'I'm just fine' he slunk back in and then promptly looked miserable. Didn't even care if he looked like a baby to the woman who was treating him. A cringe as she tried to work his arm...gods that hurt. "She almost had me...at least almost took off my arm. But she's cute, I guess it would be a good way to loose an arm."

"who sent you that note? if you still have it hand it over."

Malik was being quite stern right now, already looking around for anyone he might have recognized from Kithcor.

Onyx's ears pinned back when she grabbed his tongue, and drummed his fingers on his leg while waiting to have it let go. no one wanted to play tug of war with thier own tongue, after all.

He had taken the time to vacate himself from teh half-blooded Tier'dal..so wasn't present when Malik came calling. instead he'd taken the time to talk to his wife, discussing the magical events and her take on the first and second place winners.

"I don't think the boy will compete a tier up. but if he does, he'll at least put on a little show. And your own?"

"The boy chose to ignore my letter. he's still in competition, and his tongue likes to go before his mind thinks of consequences."

"Be careful. Humans here apparently are more vicious and cruel. Your enemy found that out. so adamant against an elven victory they tried to poison him."

"I heard the story. Shame it failed. But that was also a different ruler. from my understanding, this human kingdom has changed drastically for the better since his murder during a coup."

"Still. you know as well as I do some humans cling to past ways."

"You're worrying too much. Besides, my gifts are not all offensive."

Malikhai's teacher took her place, for the beginings of the adult competitions. She wore little to nothing, only a red lioncloth type and a red sportsbra. her only item in hand was a staff, smooth wood that ended in a large disk like end that had an eye in it that seemed frighteningly alive. Her first competition was easily dispatched.

she gave no time for anything after the human wizard fell to the groun in a matter of seconds, his own distraction at her lack of clothing leaving him vulnerable to her mental attacks on his mind, and waiting for her next encounter.

Oh yes, a time you didn't play...or try to hold back information from your father who obviously knew something that you didn't. "What's Bloody Kithcor anyway?" Looking over his shoulder a moment as if scanning for who had given it to him, but apparntly Mr. Obnoxiously Polished Gold Armor, had taken a walk. Figured. Okay then, taking the note out once more, he held out the folded piece of paper with a reluctant hold on it. This could get him taken out of tournament...then again even if his father did withdraw him, nothing could stop him from competing if he wanted...he just wouldn't earn the prize. It was the principal of the thing damn it! "I don't know him, he gave Zykariel this note that he told to give to me."

He watched for a moment then gave a giggle at the sight before him. Come on, who couldn't laugh at that one? Had his toungue trapped out and his ears all back and it was just funny to him. Especially since Onyx was so big. "Silly kitty."

A look to her son. "See, I told you he was harmless." And thus letting Onyx's tongue go, giving him a sorry scratch between the ears, all Vah loved that. "Glad to see you've finally learned to pick and choose your battles." Turning her attention back to the arena to catch the ending of one half of magic competitions and the beginning of others. "That girl just now, that was one of Sevilin and Zahara's children."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 09, 2007 11:12 am

"Yes but some males operate under the belief that they should take it easy on girls just because they are girls. Mom would laugh in their faces and then tear them to shreds." A chuckle, "She never did turn down an advantage." Though he squeezed Lyssie's shoulder and gave a nod. "See? I told you she'd be just fine." Thus standing and following his father down. They had to wait for healing to finish, so he leaned against one of the tables, crossing his arms and looking cool.

She knew it hurt him and signalled for a cup to be handed to him that would numb the pain somewhat. Sevilin's runics would be a godsend here as well but she knew she had to use them sparingly. He wouldn't be pleased if she had more than other's blood on her at the end of the day. "That's one way to think about it. You both did some major damage to the other but in the end it was just a competition. Not worth losing something as important as that. She stitched a few cuts he'd gotten when he'd been slammed forward and cleaned out the debris from the fireball. She didn't quite tell him that Faate was her daughter since she wanted to see how it would all go. Finishing up with him, she gave a nod. "You're done and she's over there being treated if you'd like to see her. Have family who can keep an eye on you or no?"

Faate had tears in her eyes as they manipulated her ankle but she bit her lip to keep from crying out. There wasn't a whole lot they could for a sprain. A break could be healed but a sprain could merely be set and had to heal by itself. She'd been given the option of having it broken entirely but she'd politely told them she would forgo the rest of the tournament if she had to. Turning her attention to her father, she gave him a watery smile. "I didn't win but I did my best."

Kelligrin was much quieter now that they were down below as if he could sense the seriousness of the area they were in. He heard his mother's voice and twisted in his father's hold to see if he could find her but merely took to sucking on his fingers when he couldn't. A grin to his sister and he clapped his hands. "Sissy boom!"

"Girls are more vicious, they merely have an air of security around them they they have created with a well spun illusion. Takes a lot of courage to see through that and take them at an approriate level." Walking into the area and looking things over before walking over to his daughter as Zykariel went about playing cool. That boy of his. Petting through his daughter's hair, he handed Kel to her so he could be appeased as she was still sitting. "Yes you did do your best and you did quite well...that boy was on his last ropes just as you were. And you, you got yourself a prize and everything."

Drink nasty liquid, let people poke at you. He knew this routine, he'd been doing tournament since he was younger honestly. "I 'spose. Still have my arm after all. Nice to see she didn't hold back either, because I had already gone in with mind made up that I wasn't going to hold back." Giving a few hisses in pain but otherwise trying to keep looking cool and in control. "Thanks," Shaking his head, "No, I came by myself." And had forged signatures to his papers to make it seem like he had permission to compete.

She settled her brother on her lap, giving him a hug and kiss and nodded. "Yes, boom. And pretty sparks too." Fingering the medal that was around her neck, she pulled it off and looked at it. "I guess they give it to the final two for encouragement reasons? His is better, I'm sure, but that's only fair." She let Kel play with it since he was reaching for it. "Remember, that's mine, not yours." Thus a glance up at her father. "I did better than I thought I would. I didn't even think I could take that boy on."

"Best way to do it. Those who hold back don't deserve to win anyway. That's the whole point of tournament. And if she would have held back, I would have been sorely disappointed." She frowned learning his parents weren't present and shook her head. "Are you planning on watching the rest of the tournament or do you have other plans?"

"People who compete at thier best levels deserve some token of recognition. Makes people who didn't, strive better next time." Giving her a nod. "See, I told you you would do just fine and you didn't even have to use a single rune. Just have to have a little faith in yourself and things tend to work out. How's your ankle?"

"Was going to go for a higher tier, but I don't think that's happening now. Guess I'll just be watching." After all he had no one to go back to and no one was expecting him. He was just here to earn some money for himeslf so he could get some new clothes and food. "Thanks for the healing though, usually if you don't bring your own medic you don't get that benifit."
