Marcus brought one hand to his heart, pretending to wince. "Ow. That was uncalled for." He grinned again, though, smirking. "Pity I'm the best you'll get, though."

Terryn raised an eyebrow giving him a smirk. "Sure, Marcus. If I so desired I assure you I could leave right now and find any man I so desired to bed me."

Marcus grinned at her expression and attempted a straight face again. "If it were a stranger, perhaps. But not if this fellow knew you--oh, he'd run away from you in that case."

"Yes well knowing me has nothing to do with whether or not I can seduce him." Terryn shrugged nonchalantly, crossing her right leg over her left. "Such acts rarely require anything verbal."

"I assume you speak out of your vast experience of seducing men," said Marcus, folding his arms and looking skeptical. "Since you are, of course, the friendliest and most open of tavern harlots."

"Oh, I don't know. I would have thought you might enjoy..." Marcus was cut short by his grandmother's entrance. The Duchess came, daintily carrying her tea. She sat down and looked at Marcus expectantly. "Well, go on."

Marcus looked back at his grandmother and rubbed the back of his neck. "Tuscany in the summer," he mumbled, turning red at his grandmother's pursed lips.
"I thought you had no plans to travel soon?" she asked, frowning and not understanding what Terryn found so particularly amusing.

Terryn kept a small smile on her face, though she tried her best not to laugh. "We were considering it for the wedding. I hear the Tuscans have fair food and good weather, right, Marcus?"

"The fairest and best," confirmed Marcus, looking interestedly at his shoes.
The Duchess straightened up, however. She was genuinely interested, and it pleased her a great deal that they had been thinking of the wedding. "It's true. Tuscany is absolutely beautiful. And in the summer! Why, it's to die for. The floral arrangements should have sweet, warm colored flowers, of course...buttercups and lillies and the roses that you two are so fond of. The yellow and red..."

Terryn gave Marcus a glance that seemed to say "Here we go again". She was actually rather interested now in this little game and sat intently, waiting for her to pause for a breath or repeat herself.
