"Spying on the children already?" Leaning casually just inside the closed doorway of his study, arms and ankles crossed casually, her bow and quiver still slung across her back. Sure, she usually didn't bless his study with her apperance there, but she was already down here so why not? Didn't take much time to throw someone in a room with a threat or two uttered and then leave them to soak a little in thier own thoughts.

"Not spying. protecting. with the horse thieves, I'm not taking the chance that some group of bandits will see an easy target. three of our trained Droags will be watching, that's all."
looking over at his wife, walking over to her and pulling her to him for a lingering kiss.
"So how is your new friend?"

"The protective father as ever. I dare say that it's cute of you." Giving a chuckle at that, it was always fun to apply that certain word to his person from time to time. Watching him more or less saunter over to her, only to pull her into a kiss. "Wallowing in his own 'what ifs' for a while. I think it will do him a spot of good before I have to deal with him and frankly I'm not in the mood to question and the like right now." Giving a dismissive wave about it. "Like cockroaches really...gotta find the root of the problem rather than just trim the edges up every once and a while."

"Well get it out of him...and then I's smash your roach problem with an appropriately oversized steel and spike hammer."
though walking out of his study with her.
"I talked to Malikhai about the Tournament. and I think he plans to enter it. though I have also already entered Zykariel in the magical and non-martial competitions. I think it'll do him good to see what those that do put themselves to the task of doing their studies can accomplish."

"Aw how sweet...you want to bring death and destruction on annoyances for my sake." Giving a laught to that...she had learned to make her peace with his little tactics to make people in and around his land behave. Just made a joke about it these days and move on. But she let him lead for the moment, and raised an eyebrow at other subjects. "I'm sure he was ecstatic that he was allowed to enter with no fuss. I also take that to mean are you're going to go play too." But a sigh at the mention of Zykariel. "Malik...why do you keep pestering the boy like that? You're only going to upset him and he's going to take it out on everyone else. Let him learn his lessons by himself. That's what my father did and I learned quite the things for my age."

"Because between you, me, sevilin, and zahara...nothing is ever going to happen to that boy. Zahara is as indulgent yet protective as a mother bear. the first time he get in any real trouble, she'll have you and sevilin go after it, and then I'll be on your heels."
a frown.
"You're parents were seperated by continents. things could happen whiel your with one that the other one wouldn't be able to know about or help with. that's not the case here. for example, if you were with your father, and fell down a cliffside and had to try adn figure out a way back up it, you were on your own. you father wouldn't be able to help you very easily."
"With Zykariel, he falls down there, and before he would even hit the bottom, Zahara would be there throwing a rope and having Sevilin rune still anything remotely dangerous in place for the next three hours. That's why I brow beat him on it. because if he doesn't do it, and a situation occurs that we can't help him with, it'll probably be fatal if he doesn't have the basic learning and skills already, due to Zahara's bordering on paranioa overprotective nature. he won't be able to learn them until it's too late for them."
shaking his head lightly.
"The only way Zahara wouldn't be there to save him with sevilin and us is if he were to be put in a situation beyond all of our combined talents to reach him. and how many of those can you think of that wouldn't be almost instantly fatal."
"At least with our son, I know that if I can't reach him before something happens, that he does have the knowledge and know how to defend himself, to know what plants can be used for what purposes, how to skin and preserve meats and the skins of animals, and how to cover himself in most any situation that arises. it helps me reverie easier. and I'm sure it would do the same for sevilin if he knew for a fact his son could at least provide himself with basic medicinal needs and supplies if he had to from the enviroment around him and the learning his teachers teach in schooling."
"And right now, neither myself or sevilin think that is the case. and why? because he'd rather race horses for fun."

"Never thought I'd hear you worry so deeply about someone who wasn't me or your own blood." Had to poke at him a little, but she gave a sigh lightly, leaning against him as they walked, wrapping and arm around his and patting his hand. "Now A'mael...I think you're not seeing the big picture. Zykariel does in fact know a lot of things that he just doesn't let on. It's a normal teenage boy thing. I've been out with both those boys to know at least that for a fact, especially when Malikhai finds himself in some sort of situation, Zykariel is the first one there." Giving him a smile. "Personally I think he's more and more obstinate the more and more you all push on him. You try to push him, Zahara tries to protect him, and Sevilin tries to be suggestive with him. Something all teenagers don't respond well to." Shrugging lightly. "Perhaps you think Malikhai as well, is too well off when he really is not. He knows how to formally be engaged in battle and such, and he knows his little survival techniques...but unlike Zykariel...he lacks a certain 'street smarts' a human would call it."

Zykariel pulled back on the reins and gently guided Destyny up over a particularly rocky area of the cliffs. "She's doing quite well considering that jerheg that got a little too close for my comfort earlier." Between Zykariel and Malikhai, they'd chased the jerheg away but it still had been adrenaline pushing. These things happened pretty regularly in the Underdark after all. Glancing out over the terrain, he clicked to his horse to get her moving again. "How far are we going this round?"
Zahara walked along beside her husband, in no real hurry to get to Twilight and pick up the children. She missed them but was alright with letting them play as long as they weren't beating each other. She was content to walk in silence, his hand entwined with hers and their joined hands occassionally swinging. As they drew closer, she opened the front door then stopped. Squeezing his hand, she paused, "Something's wrong..."
Lyssie's feet pounded on the upstairs hallway before coming down the stairs and yelling in a voice that clearly said she was near tears. "Aunt Piper! Aunt Piper! Faate's bleeding real bad! I think she's gonna die...." Catching sight of her parents, she threw herself into her father's arms. "I didn't mean to, Daddy. Honest...don't be mad at me..."

He held to his reins as Kerick took his time lazily picking out spots between rocks to set his hooves down, the Armor style Zephmare moving along steadily to keep up with the nightmare in front of him. "Well...at least it was a little jerheg." Little being massive honestly, but it wasn't full grown and that was the important part. "How much do you think she needs to do? You're the one who rides her, you know how she feels. Though I did notice you were riding a little crooked in saddle. Was that on purpose or unconcious?"
It was indeed a nice walk back over, sometimes it was nice to just bask in quiet company of each other and not worry about things. Or more importantly fight back and forth over things that didn't even need to be a fight. Though a blink as she proclaimed something wrong and squeezed his hand, at the same time the rune on his own hand heating up in activation. Bad things confirmed by his youngest daughter flinging herself to him, where he picked her up easily enough. "What happened and where's your sister?" Already walking to where the girl had come from, giving a look back to Zahara.

Malik gave his wife's thoughts a moment of consideration, but also a small shrug.
"the boys are friend from childhood. and I don't want to see either of them in a situation that could alter that for the worst.."
before he head jerked around hearing a female screaming for Piper and abotu one of the horses. a moment glance at his wife before he took her with him and moving as a quick pace, got up the stairs to see Sevilin and Zahara, and Lyssie, as she prefered to be called.
"What happened?"

Zahara was right on his heels, heading down the hallway and into the nursery. Lyssie had been crying and all upset and it was nearly impossible to get anything out of her like that. Ignoring Malik, she saw her oldest daughter crumpled in a pile of herself, sobbing, in the middle of the room. Racing over, she knelt down and whispered to the child then moved her hand from her head where she was holding it, and saw the blood stained hair. Separating it to find her skull, there was a cut on it and she frowned, probing the wound. "Hmm, it'd probably be safest to stitch it but we'll clean it and see. Piper, can you get me some hot water and a clean cloth. Malik, go get the little ones. Sevilin, come look at this." Attempting to calm down her oldest daughter.
"Nursery..." Lyssie started to cry herself on the way up the stairs, clutching to her father's hair. "We were playing quietly 'cause the babies in reverie and I asked her for a baby doll 'cause I had it first but she asked to play with it and I said okay. But then she wouldn't give it back even though I asked real nicely. I couldn't ask too many times 'cause I was afraid I'd get Kelli and Dhairiss up and then Keely and Aunt Piper would be mad at me. I asked her one more time and she threw the baby at me and then stumbled back and smacked her head on the crib and fell and I went to find Aunt Piper but found you instead..." At her mother's proclamation, she buried her head in her father's shoulder and sobbed.
Zykariel nodded, "She looks like she's doing fine. I think we'll hit that topmost peak and call it a day for her. She's a trooper though. Kerick is doing well too. His endurance will be good in the Tournament. Are you doing any mounted events?" A little frown at hearing he was riding crooked. "Reflex maybe, but it was unconscious. Keep an eye on me and let me know if I do it again. I can't afford to get knocked off my horse again. Almost cost me the race last time."

A raise of an eyebrow. "What? You see something brewing between them?" Hm, distressed little elven voice. Oh boy, here started trouble. She returned Malik's glance before they made thier way upstairs, but it seemed the parents of said screaming child were already here. Lovely. Thusly it was a follow game to see what had happened, though soon enough she was being asked to fetch things. A look to Malik, "She gives me her kids for two days, and one gets maimed...I can see the fight coming out of this one." Thusly going to fetch said water and cloth, handing them over to Zahara before backing off to stand next to Malik again.
He merely pat his daughter on the back, trying to soothe her somewhat. Well this is what happened when you took the day off from your kids, they did thier best to get themselves hurt or at least cause trouble for you. "And you see, this is precisely why we don't throw things." Usually someone got hurt by thrown object, but momentum throwing people back was a good reason not to throw things too. And another pat as she cried harder. "It's alright, these things happen." Not upset? Well, he'd seen worse...easily fixable this one was. Walking over to the other set of parents in the room, he handed Lyssie over to Malik. "Watch her for a moment," And thusly walked over to inspect his other daughter's injury. Ah children.
He was standing up in his crib at the moment, after all...someone smacks thier head againt your crib and you're going to be jolted out of your reverie too. Though rather than fussing from such a thing, he was oddly fascinated with the red stuff that was on the edge of the railing, blinking big heterochromatic eyes at it before prodding at the slick substance with a finger. Hm wasn't that nifty. It was like finger paint, or the red stuff mommy put in her hair.
He pet at his own horse's neck. "He may not be the most motivated runner of a horse but he's stubborn and keeps his ground." Much like the stone wall, the Armor horse. Though a blink at the newest proposition. "Didn't even think about it. They do have the joust and target shooting from mount back...may be fun. And after all, the more events you have the more points you can win and the closer you can get to champion. You think I should?" He highly doubted he could win that title at this stage of life, but crazier things had happened and a boy could dream. "Maybe your tack is loose...may need some new. How about on the way back across flat land we run and I'll see if things slip."

"get the toddlers, Chev'. if she's bleeding, there's bound to be blood on or around the crib. best to get them out of it and get that cleaned up as quickly as possible."
though he put on hand on Lyssie's shoulder.
"I got this one. and do you want us to call Zykariel and Malikhai back in? they took their horses out for a bit."

Zahara shared a look with her husband and then took the water and cloth and lightly sponged at it much to the girl's displeasure. She wasn't as quick to believe Lyssie's story either but wanted the wound closed and the children settled before she got the full explanation. Thus cleaning away the blood and holding the compress on the wound to stem it, she nodded. "It needs them." Which was going to suck for all invovled. Sevilin was going to have to hold the child still and Zahara was going to have to do it rather quickly. "Rune her, I'll get the stuff ready." She sent a servant off to get a sterilized needle and thread and cloths. "Take the other kids out of here. Malik, you need to calm Lyssie down. If she keeps crying and working herself up like that she's going to make herself sick. And dont' you dare call the older ones back. We don't need them playing protectors and making things worse."
Kelligrin shifted in reverie and then blinked as he was picked up. He hadn't been ready to wake up yet. But there was Mommy! And Daddy! And...why was Faate and Lyssie crying? Did something happen that he wasn't involved in? Thus, cue crying as well. More of wailing but still, it got the program across. He wanted to be included.
"That's not even what happened," the one on the floor sobbed. "It was her fault entirely..." Faate was scared. She'd never had stitches before. Her brother had and Kelli almost had when he'd played with a knife but she never had. THe thought of a needle going into her skin terrified her. "Can't it be runed?!" Runing could take care of anything...except this apparently. "I don't want stitches!" Thus she started to struggle and cry harder. "Daddy! Tell her it can be runed!" Oh yes, panicking.
Zykariel pushed Destyny over a particularly rocky area and shrugged, "Why not. You can keep on your horse well enough, he's got good stamina and you can at least figure out if mounted events are for you or not. If they are early on and you haven't done anything else and you completely blow them then you can come back later and kick a**." He grinned, "People will cross you off their worry lists and then you can kick their a** and make them all realize what a big bad elf you are. I'll be there cheering you on anyway...or laughign at you if you fall but all in good fun."
A frown at the tack. "That's expensive too." But he knew that the care and feeding and equipment to be a racer costed Malikahi a lot of money. He never skimped either, always making sure Destyny had hte best. "It's getting pretty old, the holes were a little wide. I should have gotten her new before the last race, probably..."

Oh boy, yeah could see this one panning out none too well. But a nod and she walked over to the crib, first picking up Kelligrin then grabbing Dhairiss by the wrist...who was playing in blood. "Ah ah, don't. That's not good." Picking him up as well and settling him to her hip as Kelligrin was wailing on her shoulder. A look to Malik. "Come on, we have little ones to calm down why they're busy." Thusly leaving the nursery with her husband and fair amount of children. Downstairs in the main room, she set Dhairiss down first on a couch and wiped the blood off his hand somewhat, before sitting with Zykariel and trying to calm him down. "Oh I know I'm going to hear this from her..."
Eh stitches...not a big deal for him, after all...Zahara had done a fine job with him and she had taken a literal chunck out of his face when she had done that. His smile was still the tiniest bit off, but not much. A look to his daugher as she proceeded to freak out and he merely placed his hands on her shoulder. "Some things are best to heal the natural way as opposed to the magical or runic way, trust me." Thusly a shift of energy and a brei movement of fingers as he did his best for his daughter so that she would both hold still and the sting would get taken out somewhat as well. "Shh..I promise it will be okay, belive me your mother is very good at this type of thing. Now, tell me what happened."
He wasn't too happy at getting taken away from his finger paint, or after mommy wiped it away from his hand to. Thusly he crossed his little arms for a moment and frowned rather cute like where he sat. That was before plopping his hands over his ears from all the high pitched crying and thusly getting the upset look himself. "Hurthing my ears!"
"Big bad elf huh? I do think you're trying to inflate my ego. But I'd have to train for those...suppose we could do a few run throughs a bit...see how well I do and all based with just that. Maybe I will enter mounted as well." Rolling his eyes. "Just make sure I'm okay before you laugh okay? I don't need to be dying as you're laughing." But a blink at his assessing of things. "It's not expensive...if she needs new, then she needs new or you won't be able to ride right and she won't be able to run right." Shaking his head. "I'll get you new. Part of my job. Now come on, let me see you run her."
