Malik smirked lightly, and walked over, taking the bag hefting it a bit.

"This should fix the damage done. Care to come in and have a seat? Or does the home of a slave owner not appeal to you? I have had matters come to my attention, that I think you might be interested in or able to help with. not to mention someone recently though of my magics as 'pathetic'...implying that the natural powers here are much stronger than my home plane, which of course makes me want to learn the differences in power."

Then a small grin.

"But first things first..exactly what would you call your relation ot teh oracle? allies? family? don't care one way or another?"

"Well, I certainly don't approve of it, but it's not my buisness, is it? You're home, I am sure, will do fine for converstaion." Roarke chuckleed. "While obvious that you are from another plane, Mr. D'vinn, as to being stronger? No. Only different. capmpared to most planes Labyrinth is quite young."

He followed Malik into the house easily, seeming to enjoy the senery once inside as well.

"We hav not been in contact with the Oracles for quite some time, so I can't rightly say. But," he placed a fist over his chest "I cannot allow old family ties do die. Oracles and Magi were ment to work together, it's why Eca and Ton loved each other so easily."

A'mael Arwen Donquesse.

That was how it started and that right there made her not to want read anymroe. Thre nerve of that arrogant Cala'quessir. She sneered at the piece of paper and shook her head, deciding to look past that.

"I belive you owe me a race. I'm sure after out little...confrontation...that you are not too enthusiatics, but I am sure you still have questions you want answered. And I am willing to do so. Best me in a race and I shall give you all that you want. Answers, proof, blood, whatever it may be. However, conditions first; Rein your Zephyr, and leave your drow and father behind. I beg you consider the offer for it is the first and last time I will present it to you. Enclosed within this letter you will find a small map of the land, and a marked location. I will stay there for a week's time...should you decide to take up my offer, that is where I will be. If you do not abide by my conditions, you will get no answers, and perhaps something else more...hostile...in return for your disobediance.

Tenna' ento lye omenta,
Terran Gale

Piper rolled her eyes and looked to the little map that was indeed in accompanyment to the note. Hm...a race. Sounded simple enough...before Piper would be naive enough to leap straight in. Not this time. This time she was going to take her time.

Kieran watched this Roarke with a kind of ease about him, although his dominate sword hand rested on his shoulder out of habit still. Since all the talk of war and the like, and his sparring with Piper, he had been doing that a lot. Old habit resurfacing. But he wasn't one intrude into Malik's business, he was only there as second hand advice and to observe how this was all going down. After all, if he was going to be in a war, he wanted to know everything that he was going to be involved with or around.

"then you woudl like to know that the oracle has been kidnapped by a powerful lich that can even blockade himself form necromantic inquiry. and if he's kidnapped her, obviously he knows how to use her gift to his advantage. not to mention he can mask he scent even to dragonkin."

A small grin.

"I offer to help with the recovery of the oracle to her home, if you'll help me locate a few things. a pirate ship run by a drow, a woman called Whirlwind, and a lizard mount called Ironsides. chances are you find the ship, you find the other two."

Roarke looked doubtfull. "Well, that is strange news, isn't it? And certainly not what I expected to recive from you either." He shook his head. "It does not bode well at all."

"And while I appreciate the information, I hesitate to get the Academy mixed up in...somewhat plotical affairs. This ship you want me to find. You have a...personal vendete against the captain of this ship, yes?" He looked crestfallen.

"We don't want to get mixed up in a war that does not invlove us, Mr. D'vinn.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 10, 2005 4:31 pm

Kieran more or less smirked at that little statement and couldn't resist opening his mouth. "The destiny of the drow is to conquer all. Whether or not a personal vendetta stands, there is war with two drow as ring leaders it seems. One just wants to keep the place at peace so he doesn't have to worry about faulty rulers or troublesome others. The other, the Captain, no doubt has bigger plans. After all, he has replaced rulers already in his favor." Somewhat of a smile. "War comes down on every one, regardless how neutral they wish to be."

She tucked the letter under her chainmail for the moment, poking her head around the corner to listen to what Malik, Kieran and their new guest were going on about out there. Of course randomly fluffing hair a little to keep her ears covered. Hm...maybe they both would be too distracted with this all to refuse letting her go out on her own, unattended.

Kaden had been waiting for far too long. He'd scouted out the area adn was abosultely certain that his plan had no flaws, no chance for failure. As long as everyone acted accordingly, it should all go right. He stood there for waht seemed like hours, his booted foot propped up on a rock, arms crossed over his chest, his bow slung over his back with teh quiver full of arrows. He saw out of the corner of his eye, Terran coming up the rise and he moved quickly to meet his accomplice. "Vedui'. Elen sila lumenn omentilmo. Is everything in place Terran? I do not wish to wait any longer."

Malik narrowed his eyes lightly at piper's peeking, she was up to something, but for the moment his attention went back to the mage.

"The Captian is arrogant, willful, and needs a lesson in humility. he damage to teh fleet of dimitri took away my plans to confiscate a ship at least for my own purpose, and his replacing of rulers to benifit himself is soemthing I can't permit without contest. Crippling his ship, or at least returning the two mention will work for me, and I'll help you with the Oracle."

A small smile at Keiran.

"Yes, the destiny of the drow is to conquer all. including eachother...but as for war..it's already upon you. Lichdom with retaining of power and mind is a powerful, exacting and dangerous magic. I wouldn't be surprised if this lich is one from your number. which means your already at war with the undead..he just hasn't gotten around to striking you yet. or he's using the oracle's gift to plan his timed strike."

Tarathiel, still wearing his bloodied armour and clothes, sat on the bow of the ship, watching the sail fill with air... "I'm bored..." He complained, drawing laughter from the crew nearby.

"Hey, why don't we set up a trap for that kitty to fall into, and kill him?"

Warhammer, by himself, guiding the sail looked at his captain and snorted. "Sir, that is not only a waste of valuable resources and time, but a complete waste of energy. He's looking for us, that is all the trap we need for the likes of him."

Tarathiel snorted back, "Where's the fun in that."

"Sir, I think you should stop drinking." The minotaur retorted.

Tarathiel looked at the minotaur, and tilted his head. "Perhaps you are right. The last thing I would want is for fun to find me when I am too drunk to remember what fun I had..."

"Your drinking has lead to the ruin of nations, I think your god would prefer it if you were never sobre." Jin Djinn interjected.

"I have no god." Tarathiel said with some venom. "Hey, where's the cuttie with the stick? Maybe she knows what we could do for fun?"

Terran dismounted his winged mount, clasping Kaden by the forearm in greeting. "Mae govannen Kaden." Letting go of his arm he gave his fellow elf a nod. "I've done as you asked, and set the bait for her. I doubt she'll refuse it. The only hitch you may have is her father and the...drow..." A sneer at that...drow really bothered him. "But I figure if she really is as curious as you say and as stubborn, then she'll find a way to me. And thus I shall bring her to you. You'll have to rely on your elvish patience a little longer, Ravenwing."

Aella shoook her head. "Tarathiel, you'r already drunk if you're calling me a cutie." She shook the bells on the end of her staff to emphasis her point. She had only just finished getting the blood out of her borrowed clothing, had walked in on the tail end of the conversation.

She rolled her eyes. "Honestly Captain, I had thought there was always fun just around the corner where your ship was involved" She twirled her staff, aming her silks flutter a bit.

"But fun? I might know where we...or that is you...can have some."

"Already at war? Yes I suppose we are..." Still he was hesitant. He didn't much like getting offers to strick out against an enemy that he did not know much about.

"My primary concern will be the Oracle, and with the Acedemy behind me I assure you that we do not need your help Mr. Dv'inn. But neither do we want to throw it aside as useless to us." He scratched a chin. "The Acedemy is growing thin these days, and we need to stretch our foundations, accept those into trainging who have no relation to the First Magi."

He paced. "We didn't care for Dimitr's rule. His lineage goes back to one we have come to distrust. And I must say that it was either the drow captain or you who would have taken him out anyway."

He stood still a moment. "What threat is this drow to my Acedemy? Is it worth our efforts to spend gold and time on an assult? Perhaps we would benifit more with a truce of some kind."

Before he could stop himself he exploded, "Ed' i'ear ar' elenea! I have waited so long already!" Though it took an extreme effort, he finally mangaed to calm down. Nodding to Terran he said, "Well done Terran. It is true my patience is growing thin though I will endeavor to hold onto the small string I have left." He was silent for a moment, contemplating, "Neither her father nor the drow concern me overmuch. If they become a problem, we'll deal with them. But, she'll come and she'll be alone because her curiosity is insatiable. She ended up in far too many scraps because of it as a child. Curious as a small kitten she is and it will serve us well. You know all you are supposed to do?"

"What threat is a drow..." Okay, Kieran's non scholor side was showing. Maybe it was indeed the battle settling in his veins, or maybe he was tired, or maybe he was just being different today, who knew. Maybe Piper but other than that, no one really but himself. "You seem to speak in double tongues mage. How can you blatantly refuse aid and then say you may want it later. Not a well done deal at all."

Piper snatched a passign slave, whispering to her in low tones so as not to attract attention to herself. No she wasn't thinking of sneaking out, just getting herself in order. Get herself packed for a shor ttrip, which was ordered of the slave. Tell Malik yes, let him talk her out of it no. Malik could deal with the war on his end, she could deal with the one on her end.

There went the elf's temper again. For creatures who had so much patience, Kaedn alway's seemed in short supply. But Terran nodded back to him in duw respect. "You've waited over fifty, another day or two will not do you harm." Though he raised an eyebrow. They would deal with them? Terran wasn't planning on taking sword against either. But another nod to Kaden. "Lure her into a false sense of security, make her think she has the upper hand, and then let you take over at the correct time, then I leave it in your hands. I've already told her to rein that damnable Zephyr, so she won't be making a quick escape. I don't see how you'll convince her to talk to you..."

"Fun is good... But, when've made promisses not to hurt certain people and sav-- Where did we put the dwarf?" Tarathiel asked mid sentance.

"Orko placed him in a bar. We know not of his current wearabouts." Warhammer replied.

"A bar? Well, at least it wasn't in the dragon's mouth, like the last person I wanted him to save." Tarathiel stood and walked a few feet towards the minotaur.

Warhammer shouted for Aven to come and take the sail, and then moved over to the captain, and placed one hand on his shoulder. "The Earth Mother forgives you this poison." Tarathiel imidiately perked up.

"So, now that I am sobre, where is this fun?" Tarathiel asked his special prisoner.

Whirlwind rolled her eyes, amazed as ever at the minotar's strange relattionship with the Earth Mother. Handy though. She leaned her elbows against a railing, studied her nails. "I've seen a dragon flying about..."

She looked up at Taratheil, then back down. "And I don't know about you, but where I come from they have always been great sport to hunt..." another look "their hides make excelent armour, their horns and blood can be used for any number of spells and potions..." last look. "So I suppose the question is what fun is there not, to hunting dragonkin?"

You are quite right, dear elf. It is not a very good deal is it? I beg your pardon, I tend to think out load." He smiled. "It's difficult to agree to a deal when you find yourself already on the receving end, and hesitant to partake in the rest. But true, quite right. not a good deal." He put his chin back in his hand, continued his pacing.
