Zahara pulled Faete up short and watched Sevilin leap off before the horse had even come to a complete stop. Silly man. She merely chuckled and slipped off her own horse, patting him lightly then whispering to him so he took off, disappearing. She walked over and nuzzled her son in Piper's arms then slipped him out. "He watches the race with me. You can have him back after." Thus turning and quirking an eyebrow "Coming Raven?" And thus she started off, taking a seat next to Malikhai and settling her son on her lap and holding him so he could see the action. "How's he looking?"

He jumped lightly as Zahara sat down. "Aw, you ruined the thing I had going." Clearing his throat and attempting to get it back and recover from what he had been knocked from. After all, he should expect Zahara to be here, she was Zykariel's mother after all. Though his eyes did side glance around some, searching for a certain elf...whether to be weary or not of her he wasn't sure yet. "He's just fine, bit cocky for my liking, but fine."
He clutched to Malik's vest, swiveling his head about and looking at all the things going on around him. People and elves, things were just everywhere. And they were all moving, all doing something, it was just a lot to take in and bask in. After all, this was all brand new for him, he hadn't really been out of the house and in a crowd of this type before, small crowds yes, but not this. Yes, we'll clutch to daddy for security.
Piper shook her head lightly as Zahara duly took Kelligrin from her and walked off to get a seat. "How many times do I have to retake that baby from her?" Giving a dismissive gesture then and turning her attention to her own youngest, petting through his hair a moment in comfort. "Let the boy have his space for at least a few moments longer, he's trying to play business, I want to see how well he fairs with holding the counterance. Why don't you find us some place? You're good at skulking."
"Never going too, far too much trouble in my opinion, crossing his arms and shaking his head. "Though lo and behold you're here, much to the enjoyment of the masses it seems." Shaking his head and watching his wife again take hold of the baby that was supposed to be in someone else's care, and duly walk off. "It's like magnets." Another shake of his head and he sighed, "Coming...slowly, but following..."

"Come now. I'm sure skulking is a archer trait for hunting. not a lordly thing."
A slight smirk though cloaking himself in the shadier parts..before finding a good seat by the younger women. one of which was discussing his older son. best just to stay a little out of their sights too, but close enough to hear. holding his son in his lap, whispering down to him.
"we gotta be quiet...we're going to surprise your big brother, okay?"

"Oh, I'm sorry Lord D'vinn. Shall I move so that you won't be embarrassed by my presence?" she asked chuckling, then glanced down and noticed the young ladies. Most were watching the track but there was one who kept glancing up at him. Standing and leaning close to him, she whispered, "You know, babies tend to draw women in, Khai. You might want to take advantage of that, but very well, I'll leave you to be the big bad moneymaker in peace. Keep an eye on my boy and I'll do the same. Let's just hope he doesn't get too cocky." Thus she slipped out of her seat and moved away, but remained close enough to keep an eye on the action. Both in the stands and also on the track. This could take a highly pleasant turn.
Kelligrin clapped his hands happily and reached out for Malikhai but his mother pulled him away. "Go!" Thus tugging on his mother's braid. "I go too!" Then glancing back. "Daddy go too?"
She had indeed been glancing up, watching D'vinn and wondering if it would be a bad idea to walk up there and settle down beside him. She'd seen him at the bar the other night and had even talked to him. Of course it hadn't gone anywhere but still... The other drow that sat down next to him had her turning around again and sighing but she couldn't stop herself from glancing back up. Seeing the drow move, she decided to stand up and moved up, sitting next to him. "Your racer is Inthara, right?"

Zykariel didn't have to warn Galesen about Destyny, it wasn't like he was going to go up to it and suddenly start to pet it, some horses don't like total strangers coming up to them so that's why he kept a distance from it. But still he was silent as both boys were talking to one another, though the major topic was that little Malikhai seemed to have someone interested in him, of course Galesen thought that it was probably the family name after all but it was only a guess. Though when it was time for the manager and rider to part ways Galesen raised an eyebrow when the young blue elf said he would allow him to sit near by, he didn't know that he needed permission. Still he followed and when they got into the stands he sat down in his chair watching the track, seemed that the elf was all serious about this race, maybe his parents should force him to take a break or something.
But when Zahara appeared he gave a small nod to her before turning back to the track, he also saw the girl glancing towards them and he figured that this may have been the one the boys were talking about earlier. Still when the drow left and another elf was coming towards them he chuckled a little and got up. "Good luck Malikhai." He said to the boy and left before the girl got to where the young boy was sitting. So after leaving the young lad to only worry about the elf that now sat next to him he made his way to where he saw Zahara and sat down next to her. "Hello Zahara it's good to see you, how's things?"

He blinked at the odd comments that were thrown his way before the two adults that had been near him promptly vacated. Well...that was weird. Then agian he thought that adults were weird these days too. But his attention wavered to the new voice that came from his side and duly his eyes and then his head turned that way. "My only stake is on him, yes he's mine." She was the girl from the other night, he knew that much...why did he get awkward around girls still? "If you're looking to talk to Zykariel, you don't need my persuation on him."
He reached forward, patting at his son's head as he questioned on things as Zahara found herself a new seat and he sat down next to her opposite hte side of Galesen. There was someone he didn't see often anymore. Though no, he hadn't forgotten that Galesen had a debt with him as well. But again he turned his attention to his son. "You always want to go places too, don't you?"
"Archers do not skulk, we maneuver swiftly and stealthly." Following Malik and promptly plopping down, after all she had to keep an eye on him and despite the attention she would get from others, she preferred not to have it if she could prevent it. Though she merely shook her head and smirked at her husband. "You're bad."
He giggled and promptly covered his mouth as he had been grinning up at his father. "Surprises are good." Said in an actual whisper before he blinked, standing up on his father's thigh and holding to his shoulder to keep his balance. "How?"

Zahara gave a smile to Galesen. "Things are going just fine. What about with you? Long time, no see." She turned to the side and glanced at her husband for a moment, giving him a smile and reaching a hand out to cover his. "I'm really glad you came, Raven. Even though you don't support his choices." Her attention turned to the track and she curled her fingers into his, squeezing lightly. If her son could win by sheer force of will, he'd never lose a race as long as she was around. She loved racing, the excitement and the adrenaline that raced through her system at the sound of thudding hooves. "There's more Nightmares this time around than before. Could be interesting."
Kelligrin caught his father's hand happily and tugged. "No. Be you." Thus reaching out for his father, using the grabby hands gesture. "Daddy." His attention was caught briefly at the loud noise used to signal the start of the raise and his face twisted for a moment before grabbing once again. "Daddy!" More insistent this time.
And that was the starting signal. He and all the other racers took off. Zykariel let Destyny set the pace for the first lap or so around and then he'd urge her on or keep her back depending on where everyone was. He easily slipped past about seven other racers, bending low on Destyny's neck and watching his body placement. He knew better than to glance back and knew to watch the track as well. So far this race was a piece of cake.
She giggled softly and shook her head. "That's alright. I wasn't really planning on talking to him." She turned to the race as it began and watched it closely then glanced back at Malikhai. "Why don't you sit down? There's a seat right here." Patting the bench beside her halfway suggestively. She was more shy than some.

Of course Galesen smiled back, it has been quite awhile since he had seen the drow and it was always nice to sit around with her and chat about things. "Long time, no see indeed." A small chuckle before he shook his head lightly and grinned. "I'm happy to hear things are well, as for me things are no doubt interesting, I've been traveling and whatnot, learning new skills with all the free time I have." Like for instance he was completely learned the skill of actually being able to understand animals from Piper and even climb trees, his bow skill was pretty good as well, and he has learned to sew too. But still he wanted to learn more and he has talked to the smiths inside the fortress to see of they could teach him thier trade, all he has to do is check up on that later. "So how's the family? It's been awhile since I've seen them." He asked as he focused on the track, seemed that the riders were getting ready to take off.
Though he did spot Sevilin of course and he gave a small nod to the drow when he made eye contact, his look towards the man was nothing more than a normal one, he wasn't mad at him and of course he still had to pay off the debt that he owed and he will when the time comes. But Galesen turned his eyes back to the tack just as a noise went off which signaled the start of the race. "You're right Zahara, but your son is really good so I don't think he'll have much trouble."

"Like this."
before Malik moved and made sure his son would know he was there now, and looked over at Galesen.
"I wouldn't be so sure of that just yet. overconfidence has brought down racers with more talent then Zykariel."
looking over at his son, and then a slight raise of the eyebrow at the girl. well well. the boy seemed to have an admirer..
"He'd be more than happy to take a seat you have so graciously offered. wouldn't you, Malikhai?"

He was going to have to make nice nice and race conversation wasn't he? Wasn't exactly his forte in the least, but he supposed he could get by with a non commital noise or answer. Better than staying quiet and seemingly ignoring her. "I suppose, nightmares at least make for good show." But his attention turned to his youngest who apparently wanted his attention and rather insistently. Lifting the boy from his mother's arm, he settled him on his knee, one hand behind him to support his back and making sure he didn't fall. "Better now? I'm right here and now you are too."
Wait a minute, he knew that coloring...and right next to it was red. His parents were...quickly he turned his attention away from them as if he hadn't seen them. What were they doing here? Wait, was he in trouble for leaving without saying anything to them? Well he left a note. But his attention had wavered to the track at the starting sound, watching Zykariel for a lap or so before his ears twitched at the new yet already familiar voice. She was asking him to sit down? He opened his mouth to say something...when his father's voice duely interjected and made his decision for him. Was that weird? He wasn't too sure...but he did plop down in the indicated spot. "Um yeah..." Flashing her a smile lightly before clearing his throat and trying to get his facade back.
Dhairiss merely waved to his brother and gave a quiet giggle at the surprise that struck across his brother's face. Most days Malikhai was indeed a source of entertainment, seeing as he did goofy teenage things.
Piper duely elbowed Malik lightly. "Stop it, you're going to just make him nervous." Shaking her head at him before tucking a piece of hair behind her ear and turning her attention to the track, also while reaching over and resting a hand on Dhairiss' shoulder in that 'calm down a little' gesture.

Zahara was not really listening to Sevilin since all her attention was on the race. Watching her son move around the track and pass yet another two, she tightened her grip on Sevilin's hand and grinned. "He's got this one won again." Watching them round the curve she tried to keep herself from jumping up and cheering. It appeared like he was going to be in first before too much longer, which was just nice. She loved being the proud mom. Sevilin had Kelligrin after all.
"Yes." He watched the race, holding onto his father's hair happily as he bounced and giggled. Races were fun but it didn't so much matter where he was as long as he got to go. "Daddy." Thus tugging on the braid gently as he caught his mother's excitment and started to yell. "Go! Go! Go!" Thus giggling.
She glanced at the bigger D'vinn, surmising that was Malikhai's father. Though as Malikhai took a seat, she leaned over and dropped a hand on his shoulder, whispering. "You don't have to if you don't want to, Lord D'vinn. I just thought you might be more comfortable sitting." She glanced down at the race for a moment and clapped. "Zykariel is winning!" Though a moment later, she leaned in again. "Shouldn't you be further down where all the action is happening?"

Malik glanced at Sevilin with a slight smirk, before a look to the race sponsors. after this lap...the track was going to drastically change. no more flat terrain instead it would become forestry and have some paths that might place anyone ahead if they had the knowledge and skill to ride them. not to mention obstacles. water, rocks, slight changes in density of the ground.
Let Zykariel have to use his brain a bit to choose the places to ride and how to ride them. simple deductions and timings if he'd kept up with other studies about geography.
though a look at his wife.
"It's my duty as a father to embarass him from time to time. though I think I'll have to pass down the D'vinn woman catching knowledge with that little lady there."

And he was surrounded by racing excitment. Not that he wasn't one who couldn't get excited, he just didn't get excited over such things as this. Admittedly, his son had wonderful control over his animal and command of the track. Then again Sevilin had never disputed that, merely the boys attention to other things in life. Idly he returned the squeeze on his hand but turned his attention to his youngest son. "Seems like you've caught onto this racing thing too." He wasn't going to win this battle of who was right and wrong, was he?
She blinked at him. "The D'vinn woman catching knowledge?" That got a melodic series of laughs from her. Oh come on that was just too funny now wasn't it. Took her a few moments to sober from that one. "I dare say it was me who caught you, not the other way around. I would hardly say that you caught me," reaching to her neck to touch at the mithril collar still there, "And this doens't count. You've never used it." Smirking at him fondly enough before giving another laugh, "D'vinn woman catching knowledge...oh that's good..."
For a moment he was a little confused but then remembered himself. Right, he could be called that too, it wasn't just a title used for his father. Rarely he was called that but sometimes he was. This was one of those times. "Standing or sitting is all the same to me, both bring bodily rest. The only difference is in your elevation." Which is why he had been standing so he could see since he wasn't close to the track, too much dust there. But his attention wavered from the track again and to this girl. "Um, I suppose so...care to join me?" Oh wait he was just forward...no wait, that was okay. Thusly standing he offered his arm to her, waiting for her to take it before they both headed down to a stand place closer to the track. "I don't believe you've given me your name yet, lady elf." Might as well try to keep up with it all...girls, so complicated.

"It's not that bad. He just wants to be with whoever is having the most fun at the time, don't you Kelli?" Thus plopping a kiss on the child's cheek which got her a giggle. Murmurs began along the stands and Zahara glanced up to see the track had suddenly changed. Her eyes narrowed. Since when did things change in the middle of the race? They didn't. She crossed her arms for a moment then watched her son to see how he'd deal with this new problem. Why in the hell there was suddenly forests and such in a flatland area that couldnt' support vegetation made no sense to her. She glanced back behind her and caught sight of Malik and Piper then glanced at her husband. "Someone's cheating, Sevilin. It has to be someone on the outside."
Zykariel and Destyny smoothly avoided a fallen tree trunk in the way of the path. "Come on girl, no worries. This isn't a problem." He pushed his horse, listening for the sound of the others. He didn't hear anything but he knew better than to take it too quickly. He came to a fork in the road, glancing in both directions. Mountainous terrain was up ahead to the right, he could see the hills and there was flat ground towards the other. He hesitated a moment and then glanced down at his horse. Destyny could take the hills with ease but he didn't know what lay at the bottom of the hills or if she might cause a forest fire.
That would be horrible for any of them. He chose the hillier path only because it appeared shorter. The hills really didn't look that high and Destyny could handle them. They'd trained on nearly every type of ground and he could handle such a thing without a problem. Thus urging her on, he kept his speed moderate as they climbed the hills and then allowed her to pick up speed when they hit the flatter ground. Hopefully the others would choose the wrong path and fall behind. Everyone was used to racing in the Underdark which carried with it unpredictable things.
One of the rockier hills was a little unsteady and the moment Destyny crested the top, her weight loosened the already dry and rocky soil. Zykariel held on as her hooves began to slide on the uneven ground but another noise from somewhere startled her and she twisted quickly. Zykariel was unprepared and tumbled to the ground. He quickly got out of the way as another racer rounded the path and jumped off the top of the hill. Assessing his body quickly, it appeared nothing was really wrong with him but Destyny had continued on. He jumped up immediately and took off down that path, knowing his horse as well as she knew him. She'd be waiting. Somewhere.
She gave him an instant smile and took his arm. "No, I didn't. I wouldn't know yours either if it weren't for your popularity." Heading down, she watched the track change before their very eyes and shook her head. "That's not supposed to happen, is it?" She hadn't been to very many of these races but she'd never heard of such a thing. Though as they reached the area down where all the real excitement had begun, she leaned over and smiled. "It's Kaelin."

A smirk at his wife.
"Just because you and I were different, doesn't mean I don't know how to charm a woman. and I still got you in that, didn't I. even though I didn't use it."
though watching his eldest for a bit, and mentally preparing himself for the bitching Zahara was going to give him over the course alteration. Though sevilin probably wouldn't mind the idea of making Zykariel have to pay attention to geography a bit more. maybe he'd study more on how land worked and was put together then.
