I was going to go with the planes crossing excuse. Serino can planes cross so it isn't too hard. Throw in some mishap that makes it a dimension jump as well and boom, twenty years skipped.

Oh..Little Girl is kinda an arrengment to introduce MAlik And Piper to the world, if they so wish to use her. If not, well I have tons of other plans for her.

Little Girl = conduit. Though she's not anything like Rand is. She's a tool basicly. Anybody with enough magic power can use her. I suppose she's kinda like an amplifier/conduit. She'll never have controle...but as long as she can stay away from "bad people" she doesn't have to worry about things going wrong, like Rand.
Basicly she's Rand's Labyrinth duplicate.
