"Little elves are sensitive to that. Remember when I had Dhairiss?" That had been quite the thing. Not only had husband been horribly upset but so had son, quite the little fiasco in and of itself. But she shook her head and merely patted down a cowlick in her own son's hair. But a rather surprised look at the note about Zahara and her husband. "You know I'm willing to take him off your hands for a while. Not good to let yourself become so preoccupied with the children only." Giving a smile to her son as he had grabbed her collar and tugged on it lightly...they just loved that shiny mithril around her neck, didn't they? "And it could be that...there's a little frustration that I can see multiplied by there being three other children in the house that he really can't keep up with. You and Sevilin simply don't have the time to devote just to him."
For the moment he had parked himself outside the door, merely listening...after all, every child wanted to know what schemes their mother had in store for them...adn well he had learned that you just didn't interupt things because you were having a giddy moment. This talk seemed kind of important.
"Well, I suppose it would be good to say that at least she didn't banish you to the couch, but at the same time when they purposefully avoid the bed...it just makes you feel kind of guilty for 'chasing them out' so to speak." But a nod and he took a seat and the glass...not that he'd drink much of it anyway. "It was time to give him a reward, that's all there is to it. Quite nice reasoning as well...and I'm sure you're relieved too."
Nodding lightly adn then swirlign the contents of his glass idly before a look up as the conversation turned to his own son. Which got a bit of a frown. "I'd be careful there, Malikhai is still younger and that's a card Zykariel would play and make count. I do have to applaud that he at least listens to Malikhai when he tries to play business man. But honestly, it's not the racing that bothers me...it's the fact that he thinks nothing else matters enough to know. One day, he's going to run out of races...and what then? Though he seems to think he can race forever." Another shake of his head. "Teenagers, and I still have three more to get through." An amused chuckle at that.

"Very true." She cuddled her son again and once again stood him up and grasped his hands to help him walk. When he wasn't crying, he was much more willing to learn things. "I know, Piper, but he won't go down to reverie if Sevilin or I aren't there. We considered leaving him with you for a few days and tested it on Zykariel while we went to the market. Kelli screamed the whole three hours we were gone." She sighed, "It's probably a combination of those things. He feels lost in the family. At dinner he throws his cup to get our attention when the girls and Zykariel are all talking at once. And it probably doesn't help that he's never really been forced to be away from us. I just can't stand to see him that upset."
Kelligrin took a few shaky steps with his mother's help and laughed as he plopped down in her lap. He used her shoulders to stand back up and then tugged on her top before taking her cheeks in his hands and plopping a smacking kiss on them then sitting back down and crawling over to the blanket, once again content to bang the toys around.

"There's always another race. especially with humans. no matter how obviously better destyny is than their own horses, they'll still wager and bet on someone finding a track he can't manage or a horse that can best him."
A slight smirk to Sevilin.
"and you got girls. think about when thier 'phase' starts. that's going to be a really fun time. feel free to spend that here if you want."
though a bit of a thought on that last comment.
"I think I might have a solution to that. in ancient times on teh plane I met piper on, there was a restriction on events by class. only nobles coudl compete. and to prove this, they had papers that displayed thier lineage. like for a horse or dog. Perhaps I can do a little leaning on some of these horse racing sponsors to use something similar that would get him to have to at least give a half assed effort on other things in order to compete?"

Well now it was another day in the underdark and what was Galesen doing? Well he was in the fortress that's what since he did like to go over his daily exercises of course and the arena is perfect of things like that. Still sometimes he liked to wander the halls, even since Malik has been growing his territory little by little Galesen has been go off to places to see things around the Underdark, and that meant he was never around he much so why not return and check the place out once in awhile?
But as he did his little wander around the fortress he happened to see Malikhai standing alone, now why would he be doing that? With a puzzled looking on his face Galesen slowly made his way over and with one finger he tapped the elf on the shoulder asking. "So Malikhai hearing anything good or what?"

"Maybe he screamed because Zykariel honestly didn't want to watch him and wasn't hiding the fact. You said yourself he's sensitive to that kind of thing, so it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case. Honestly Zahara, you need a break from the baby, maybe the kids in general." Shrugging lightly before retrieving her glass and taking a drink from it. "Sometimes you have to let them be upset so that they understand. Remember when I went away and Malikhai was afraid I would leave again and would never come back, even if I was just going out for a ride? Had to do it on purpose to show him that I would indeed come back."
"Or he'll find something worse than humans or his own kind to race...then he'll end up in a spot he doesn't want to be in and the parents won't be around to get him out of it because no doubtedly he's sneaked out to do it. He still thinks I don't know when he leaves the house." Which amused Sevilin to a point, because when he did decide that it was time to bust him, it would be all the better and hit home all the harder. Yes Sevilin, always the strategist at heart.
But he rolled his eyes...somedays he was glad he grew up all repressed and such and didn't misbehave. But that was his own little twisted thoguht. "And yes, I have girls...and at that point, I plan on making any boy's life thier around absolute hell and smile at them living in fear of me. Will at least be amusing. Honestly I think the girls are going to be more trouble than him." Tapping his fingers on the arm of his chair then at Malik's propositon. "Something similar like what? A certain level of comprehension or skill demonstration?" Since obviously being of noble blood or not, was not the problem here. And well yes...since Piper more or less supplied the horses, the D'vinn house did have sway at the tracks and such.
Malikhai practically jumped out of his boots, and even startled Yinn whom had come to perch on his shoulder, hand plopping down on his sword hilt in reaction, but he didn't draw it. Took him a second to settle and then make a hushing motion...after all, he was eavesdropping. "Um...no?" Shrugging in innocent fashion before getting a huge grin on his face...hm, bragging opportunity and some chance to grab some praise, maybe get his first challenge with his own sword. Thusly Ebony was drawn, Galesen would indeed recognize what sword it was, and he smirked. "Look what my dad gave me."

Piper did bring up a good point. She knew how much arm twisting she had to do to get Zykariel to watch any of his siblings, which was ridiculous since he was her son. She should be able to say he was watching them and not have to deal with eye rolling and a bunch of excuses. "I just don't want to make the same mistakes I have before. The ones I made with Zykariel are coming back to bite me in the a** again." She wasn't sure how she felt that Piper wanted to take her baby away. "I appreciate it but we'll survive. Maybe once he's a little older and can walk and talk."

Galesen had to laugh a little when he scared Malikhai, rarely he got the chance to do such a thing so a wide grin was displayed on his face when the child jumped on the spot. Though he nodded his head when was told to be quiet of course, after all he had done some eavesdropping before so he could understand why the boy would do it as well. Still it was funny to catch him in the act really. But when he suddenly saw a blade in the half drow hands the elf blinked and looked down at the sword for a moment before it clicked in his head exactly what it was.
"Oh so you finally got the sword you always wanted? And it's Ebony huh? Nice blade." Well he was glad to see that the young drow finally had his own sword, after all he has been hearing that the boy has been wanting one for quite sometime now. Well he'll be seeing a happy elf for awhile and he had to wonder how long it will last, a few months maybe?. "I was wondering when you were going to get your own sword...congrats on that but don't tell your mom I said that okay?" A small wink to the elf before he chuckled, he knew how the lad's mother felt about the boy getting his own blade...though he had to wonder if she had found out about this yet, personal findings say yes.

Setting her own son aside for the moment in her chair, as well as her glass on the table, she got herself up and walked over, reachign down and more or less plucking Zahara's baby from her arms, tickling at his tummy as she sat back down to make sure the child wouldn't burst into tears too quickly. "If you fear doign them again, you're going to repeat them again. Trust mee, you can't be aroudn him all the tine...mother used to take Malikhai away from me, and after that Malik did. You two can't cling all the time to each other, even if he is fussy. Sounds to me like you both have seperation anxiety."
"Sure did and yes it is. I figure I can make it work as I need it to." Sheathing his sword once more and then crossing his arms lightly over his chest. Then a light roll of his eyes. "Oh it's mom, she knows I was going to get one eventually." Half ignorrant to his mother's irrtation or the cause of it, mostly because of his basking in his own moment in time right now. "Didn't expect to see you anytime soon."
"Which is what runes are for Malik. I know what everyone of those kids are doing, who they're with, and where they are." Yes yes he certinally did. "Well let's see...his geography isn't spot on aside from race trails and tracks...more of 'my horse knows where to go'. Gods and such he doesn't care for a bit. It's not that he's bad at them or can't do then, just if he doesn't see it as being useful he ignores it...That he also thinks he's getting away with. He's been having those magic slips again like wen he was little." Little freaking power houses, everyone of those kids," Personally I was planning on making him work so hard on other things that he's too worn to spend five hours in the stables at the end of the day.

She blinked as her son was more or less confiscated from her and frowned. Sure, Piper was proving a point but to take her baby away? He wasn't ready and neither was she. A shake of her head and she leaned back against the couch. "Okay, so you've made your point." Though watching her a moment, her lips lifted in amusement. "You aren't going to let me have him back, are you?"
Kelligrin giggled and pushed at her hands then turned and looked at his mother, tilting his head for a moment. Deciding that it was okay since she was still in the room, he glanced up at Piper and reached his hand up for her hair to hold it the way he always did his father's. Of course his hand managed to brush against her collar in the meantime and his eyes lit up at the fun noise that made. Look mom, new toy! Thus his fingers clutched at it and made it jingle again.

"Well just be careful that's all I can say really but you will be fine anyways." Eh it was a force of habit but still the boy was young and the last thing he wanted to hear was that the boy got hurt some how. Though he chuckled a little bit as the drow went off talking about his mother like that, he just hoped he wouldn't be around when Piper decides to talk to the young boy. Though in reaction to the boy's statement the elf crossed his arms loosely across his chest and raised an eyebrow. "It's nice to see you too."
Though he had to chuckle again as he leaned against the wall that was behind him. "Well I have to come back of course, after working on my house in Andal I needed to visit the fortress so your father wouldn't think I just picked up and left right?" Sighing lightly he rested his head on the wall before turning his gaze down at the young lad. "Still I've been doing a lot of things on my own now, it's not like I've forgotten about this place or you and your parents...I just have a lot of free time on my hands." That was true, and really Galesen was happy for that, he's even been thinking of just going off for a bit, maybe travel the surface above the Underdark for a little while. "What about you? How's your life coming along anyway? You doing well in your studies?"

"That won't work. it'll build resentment and like it or not, he could probably give you a run for your money on shear power. not to mention eventually he'll find a workaround on your runes, or he'll simply vanish the second your back is turned."
a slight grin.
"Geography it is then. we'll see if he can handle it when the courses get altered or, if there's more than one route that can allow a slower horse to possibly outpace him. and, if he wants to ride, he can learn the geography, can't he."

Settling Kelligrin she gave a chuckle as he too discovered the apparent wonder that was her collar before turning her attention to her own son who crawled his way back into her lap and proceeded to be just amused as his friend was. "Nope, not giving him back. Seriously, you need to relax some and start establishing some 'it's okay mommy and daddy are going away for a bit' feelings. You know you can trust me with him."
Be careful...he didn't need to be told to be careful, he knew how to handle his sword, otherwise his father never would of put even the stupid rickety friggin' one in his hands. Raise of an eyebrow. "You're the adult, shouldn't you be doing all of that anyway? And you know, if you had a girlfriend, you wouldn't have all that free time on your hands." Smirking then...he was a teenage boy, girls were what most things in his mind gravitated to. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he rocked back on his heels. "Same old things, and I never disappoint."
"Yes I know, which is why I'm not pushing on it much despite how much I want to. Have more than enough people to keep tabs on and take care of after all. Now if I could just get Zahara to get off the little kick she's on, things would start to smooth out." Draining his glass halfway. "Long as Destyny can't short cut him or tell him exactly the best routes and such to take. But do feel free to have your go at it."

"You know I could just take yours away. I've done it before." But she was torn. Part of her wanted her baby with her no matter what and the other part just wanted her husband and not the way she'd had him since Kelligrin had been born. "I suppose it would be good for us to have some time together. I'm sick of hating sex." A shake of her head and she took another sip from her glass. "How long are you keeping him for? I mean, we need to do this sort of slowly right? Only a little bit of time here and there?" she asked hopefully, almost afraid Piper would say yes and the evening she was already planning would slip through her fingers. Gods, Sevilin was right...she was a damn piece of work sometimes.
Zykariel rolled his eyes and pulled his sisters apart then shoved them on towards Twilight. "Come on you two. Dad said to go here instead of home." Thus he waltzed into Twilight and caught sight of his partner in crime in conversation with Arthur. Coming up on the tail end of the conversation, he leaned against Malikhai's shoulder. "Girlfriends are expensive though. Casual lays are much better. Just go to a bar and buy a girl a drink. You're an elf, it should all come natural from there." His eyes were drawn to the blade in hsi friend's hand and he snatched it. "Hey, new weapon-ness." Swinging it once expirementally. "Nice."

He rolled his eyes a little and shook his head a bit at the drow, though he had to grin a bit the kid had a way with words. "You don't need to speak of my personal life, it's fine the way it is." And it is, it wasn't like for the past twelve years he hasn't slept with anyone, of course Galesen has been with others ever since Isle and that's the way it has been nothing more. "But I don't mind having some free time on my hands, it allows me to learn things and do things that I want to do, like for instance I would like to learn how to forge weapons one day...not now but maybe down the road." Maybe he could talk to one of the guys who works in the fortress, they are pretty good at thier job and he has gone to them from time to time, it would be nice to learn from them but he would have to look into it someday.
Though when Zykariel appeared the elf raised his eyebrow and chuckled a little, this boy seems to be the more lively one of the two and maybe Malikhai could use a friend like him more than ever. "You're right Zykariel but one day it wouldn't be bad to settle down with someone, but right now today isn't that day." A small nod to that as he watched the drow snatch Ebony from his friend. "Yeah it's a good blade, he's lucky to have it."
