Internal clocks were set to specific times from twelve years of getting up at various times throughout the night and morning, feeding and taking care of fussy babies, and getting children up, fed, and off to school. Vesendar had built and furnished a school that she and Sevilin had chosen to send their children to for their basic schooling. Once they were finished with that for the day, it was an hour or two of runing and homework before they were allowed to play.

This morning, Zahara woke up with her head resting on Sevilin's chest and Kelligrin curled up in her arms, with her husband's strong arms curled around them both. Quite a sweet picture she was sure. Easing gently out of his hold, she carried her son to the crib and set him back down so he could remain in reverie. He needed as much as he could get since he'd woken up and gotten fussy a few times last night. Covering him with a blanket, she stepped into the girl's rooms and woke both of them up and then moved in and shook her son as well. He'd have to be left for Sevilin though, she'd never been able to get that boy up.

Moving downstairs, she started the rather large breakfast that was required. In about fifteen minutes it was going to be chaos as usual in the Inthara house, just the way she loved it. Sevilin would probably be in the shower about now. She was sticking steaming plates of pancakes on the table when her daughters came bouncing down the stairs, still in their pajamas but awake, which was a bonus.

Kelligrin shifted slightly and rolled onto his tummy then started to move around in his crib. He sat up for a moment and picked up Rawr who was his sleeping companion until he caught sight of Nym. Tossing the dragon and giving a delighted laugh, he crawled to the curled ferret and reached out his hands, grabbing for the slinky animal. He was the best ferret hugger around.

Malik didn't really reverie much at all. but he did go down stairs, leaving his son to his thoughts, and saw piper there with dhairiss, before taking his own seat. yes it was fairly obvious he hadn't slept much.

"don't forget to get yourself something to eat as well."

he was quiet a moment.

"I know your upset, and I know why your upset, and we both know why I didn't tell you which is part of why your upset. he's older than I was...but that doesn't make it easier or right. but it's his choice. if he chooses not to take that blade, that's fine. and you know I'd prefer it that way. but this is all that I have left of my family to pass on. As much as I'd prefer otherwise."

then putting his hands together, and resting his head on them.

"I suppose, should I pass on, that it might be easier to leave it to him like that. as something that was mine, passed to him..but then what? there's no one more familiar with the blade than me, no one that knows it effects better. I'd rather if it is passed down, to pass it down while I am here, while I can stop him should the blade prove too much, and reclaim it if need be."

He mumbled something as he felt his wife slip out of bed, but that was all there was to it. Other than that he caught himself a few more minutes of memory land before getting himself up and grabbing a shower. Drying nad dressing, he walked back into his room to see his son holding poor Nym in a rather uncomfortable hug...but the creature was good with the children and pretty much let them do what they wished. Walking over to hte crib, he picked up both, conjoling Nym from his son and the ferret scampered to his shoulder, as Sevilin carried the pajamaed elf. "You're already causing mischeif are you? Come on, let's go wake up your brother." Which meant a walk down to his teenage son's room...and pulling him out of bed by his ankle.

"I'll eat with you and Malikhai." Said casually as she still went about her own thing, setting something in front of her youngest, and handing him a spoon...maybe he'd use it today and maybe not. He was fickle when it came to the means of spoons still. But Malik did get a side glance in the breif silence, well, seemed he had been up all night. He usually was when he knew she was upset and she didn't reverie in thier bed. But as she knew he would eventually do, he presented his thoughts on it. "Regardless of why we both know why you didn't tell me, because you knew what I was going to say about it...you still should have told me." At least then she could of rationalized things in her head or ask for some compromise, though it did seem that Malik had made a compromise out of Ebony, so in a way that aspect was covered.

"If you prefer he not have it then why even give him the choice of taking it?" Before plopping a hand down on the table next to him, perhaps to make sure she had his attention. "The family that you speak of only on the mistakes that they made. I'm not ignorant to how Tier'dal families work, and though not the worst, things still aren't as pleasant as our own has been. And I know for a fact that you haven't toned things down to protect my tender surface sensibilities that are now all but gone anyway." Before a frown. "And don't talk like that, you're not going to be going anywhere in that respect as long as I'm around." Sighing lightly and then dropping down into the chair beside him. "Look, we both know how I regard that thing...and we both know what would happen if you tried to break from it...and what it would do in retaliation should you do just that. That is what I am worried about Malik..." That blade would rip into that boy and corrupt him so fast, it would only need an instant to act in vengence for Malik deserting it after all these years.

Malikhai was getting himself dressed, still going through things in his head. he was rationalizing pretty well he thoguht and was making some good points to himself both pro and con. Hm, ten more minutes then he had to present a decision for his father...

He grinned happily and held Nym even tighter, at least until Daddy convinced him the ferret would be happier riding by himself. His little fingers closed over his father's wet braid and he frowned for a moment then laughed. "Trouble!" It amused him so very much to see his older brother yanked out of bed by his ankle that he laughed and clapped. "Daddy swing." Another smile then grabby hands, "My turn!"

Zykariel was reliving one of the greatest races of his life. Destyny's muscles moved under his body and he could feel her power oozing out of every pore. She was prime to win this one and he watched the others fall back behind him, eating their dust. Urging his mount on, he had just crossed the finish line and lifted his hands to acknowledge the cheers. Pumping his fist in the air and shouting in victory he was suddenly yanked off his horse and slammed into the ground.

Blinking for a moment he shook his head and blinked. His brother's laughter brought him out of memory land and he groaned and yanked his leg out of his father's grasp. "Gods, could I just get a full reverie and normal method of coming out of it once? Is that really too much to ask?"

Zahara was fighting with the girls about whether or not they were going to school today. Lysse didn't want to go because Faatallon didn't and her excuse was something about a teacher and being embarrassed. She'd seen trouble brewing the moment the older girl had plopped at the table since she'd been less than exuberant over pancakes for breakfast. Even at eleven, Faatallon had an amazing ability to cause grief when it really wasn't needed.

"But you don't understand Mom! They were all laughing and I can't possibly go back today and you can't make me!" Thus her sister chimed in, parroting right on cue, "Can't make me either!" Faatallon caught the look her mother shot her and glanced down at her plate. "Can I please just stay home? You can always write a note..." Taking a bite and then grinning, "Oh! I know, you can tell them that I needed extra potions work. You know old Venom won't care."

Zahara rolled her eyes and popped her oldest daughter with a spoon. "First of all, you need to respect authority figures and Venom is not his name. Second of all, you're going. One incident in your life will mean nothing to you in the long run. Besides, what were you planning on doing tomorrow? Staying home again?" At the girl's hopeful look, she rolled her eyes and pointed the spoon. "No. All of you are going to eat, get dressed, and go to school, and everything is going to be just fine."

"That's what you think! You don't even know." She dropped her eyes back to her plate and then mumbled. "I bet Daddy would let me stay home."

Malik was quiet for a moment, and nodded lightly.

"I understand. and we both know the blade will probably try to quickly grab him for that purpose. but I at least have the advantage of knowing it. we both know all the signs of the blade getting the upper hand, and with Malikhai I can take it away from him. he's not that good that I can't disarm him."

"I could have simply given him Ebony. which is why I asked him about what he thought about Malvolence. his curiousity over it I can't ignore. how many siren calls has it tried while locked away to get him to come and grasp the hilt. how many times has he thought to sneak in and touch it, just for the purpose of trying to find out what is so special about it. Now that he knows, it's easier to offer the choice, then give him the one he may resent as inferior. I don't think our son is so blind to not realize the subtle urging to not pick up malvolence."

Well the little one was perceptive wasn't he? But Sevilin merely chuckle, and flipped the little one upside down in his hold so he could dangle his arms but be safe in Sevilin's hold at the same time. And then a look to his other son. "If you were in the house at an appropriate time, you would get a full reverie that you apparently are missing, and if you got your full one, you could come out of it easier as well...besides, you've got a good eighty or so years till you can control it as you wish. Now come on and get breakfast." Thus making his way downstairs with his younger son and catching the tail end of conversation. "If no one is sick then we're going to school."

Hm, well it seemed she was right, seeing as she got little to no fight back out of him. She wasn't being mean just because she was vindictive, and he wasn't doing it just to do it...he was scared that the boy would make a choice that was ill, just as she was. Though Malik had never been one to limit his children, but rather have them find things out for themselves and allow direction...well, letting Dhairiss decide if he wanted another cookie or not wans't so critical, but things like with Malikhai were. Sighing she stood and walked behind his chair, dropping her hands to her husband's shoulders before lacing her arms around his neck and resting her head against his. Little gesture of comfort and that she was going to claw his eyes out. "Curiosity breeds bad decisions at time, so yes it is good that you've decided to tell him what it is all about. And no, he's not stupid...besides Malvolence is your blade. It's never going to want to be anyone else's."

Okay he had his reasons down...after all you never wanted to insult your father in any manner. Dressed and all polished like he was everyday he made his way downstairs and to the dinning table, commonplace morning as always. His brother was already finishing up his own meal, mom and dad were already down. And he merely took his seat, waiting for breakfast, but at the same time a little fidgety...he'd just wait for dad to bring it up. "Mornin'."

Malik patted his wife's hands and kissed her cheek lightly, before turning his attention to his son a moment, then smiling softly to his wife, and taking to breakfast. as he said, he was giving his son all the time he needed. though a slight glance at how fidgety he was. he seemed to have come to some kind of choice, or on the verge of one.

then a glance to his wife and his other son.

"We'll we're all here...time for breakfast."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 12, 2007 9:41 pm

Zykariel slipped back up on his bed and buried his head in his pillow for a moment to keep from listening to his little brother's giggles. Damn noisemaker. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever." He waited until his father left the room and then got up and washed his face to help jolt him out of that half relaxed state. Dad was right, he needed to start hitting reverie sooner at night. Of course he'd never in a million years admit that, but still. Kissing his mother's cheek in greeting, he settled at his customary chair and began to dig in.

Pleased as punch that Sevilin had agreed with her and come in at just the right time, she walked over and kissed him then relieved him of his little burden. "Good morning Kelli. How's my baby boy?" she asked snuggling the child before settling him in his high chair and taking to cutting up pancakes for him to play in more than eat. Handing him a bottle to keep him busy while she fixed his food, she glanced at the girls and Zykariel. "You three better hurry or you're going to be late." Narrowed eyes. "And all of you are going."

Kelligrin's eyes lit up happily and he grinned at everyone seated. "I go too!" His interest abruptly changed as a plate of pancakes was set down and he began picking up the smaller pieces and putting them into his mouth one by one. Watching his sisters and brother finish their food, he lifted his hand in a wave. "Bye-bye. I go too?"

"No baby, you're going to stay with Mommy today. But we're going to our own special place and you get to come along there." Diffusing the crying before it could begin since she recognized that pushed out lip and big eyes filling with tears. Kelligrin absolutely hated to be left out of anything and when he hated something, he made sure everyone as far as Vesendar knew it. "Bye kids. Have fun in school. Remember the rules and don't forget your lunches." Getting her customary kiss from each of them before the girls at least gave the same gesture to their father and then went off. Zahara took that moment to stand and walk over to her husband, wrapping her arms around his neck and resting her cheek against his for a moment. "Peace and quiet at last. So, Raven, are you going to work today?"

Nuzzling Malik lightly, she pulled away and plopped back in her own seat and at her own plate of breakfast, though she did break a piece of her toast in half right off and hand it over to Dhairiss whom was more than happy to eat that too. "Morning dear," she could feel his apprehension to things nad knew why he was having it. Poor boy. But he was being quiet about it and so was Malik. Men, why couldn't one just say something first? Then again...Malikhai was his father's son. "Eat up and then...you know what, take the day off from your studies today. You've been working hard enough lately." Cutting the boy a little slack...he wouldn't be concentrating anyway with decisions on his mind.

He blinked at that one...he rarely got the day off. And when your teachers were your parents, you really couldn't get away with skipping or anything. Unlike Zykariel and the other elves his age and such, he didn't go away for school but stayed in. In all truth, he preferred it that way...he always was one for one on one individual and absolute attention on things. And honestly, he parents made sure he had the best tutors in everything that he indeed was taking up on. "Really? Thanks" Before a look to this father as he was playing in his food with his fork. "You busy today?"

Giving up the child, he had turned to watch those stairs, making sure Zykariel was making an appearance, sometimes he had to yank him out of bed twice. Breakast of course went as usual, bit quiet but loud at moments too, the random griping and of course who was riding with who. Though he did catch hold of Zykariel's arm before the boy left. "When you're done, you and the girls head over to Twilight today." Letting the boy go and giving his girls thier affection before turning his attention to his wife. Three kids in twelve years was trying sometimes. And nerve racking. "Was planning on it...if anything for morality's sake." Would be nice to see how the whole sword thing worked out. You haven't graced Twilight with your prescence this week, and I do suspect that Piper is going to want to rant to you." Which usually meant 'us boys been bad'.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2007 10:34 am

"Morality's sake?" She pulled back and quirked an eyebrow then shook her head. "This has something to do with the unnatural level of runic energy you've had here lately, isn't it?" Her lips pursed and then she turned and began picking up the plates and glasses from the table, carrying them to the sink and running water to wash them. "Yes, I suppose I should head over there with you. Let me get Kelligrin dressed. Unless you want to leave without me?" No, she wasn't pleased. If Piper wanted to rant, that most likely meant whatever those two had been working on had pissed her off. Sevilin's involvement probably meant she was going to be less than pleased as well. Dammit. She didn't want to be mad at her husband....

Kelligrin finished half of his cut up pancakes and then began to get impatient. His sippy cup was empty and he started to squirm and tried to slip under the tray to get out of the chair but the middle bar between his legs made that impossible. He started to shake in his chair and then began to cry. Lifting his hand he tossed the cup. It bounced on the floor a few times and then hit the back of Zahara's ankle.

"Yes yes it does. I'm sure you'll hear all about it." Catching her by the shoulders, rubbing lightly in soothing motion to keep her proverbial fur down. "I'll wait...and don't worry, it's not all bad. Probably from Piper's point of view it is, but you know I don't do anything without picking through it first...me and Malik had a long talk about it first." Before looking to the cup thrown on the floor and he picked it up, tossing it in the sink before fetching his son and bringing him to his mother, before shooing her off. "Go get him ready, I'll do dishes."
PostPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2007 1:27 pm

His hands hitting her shoulders merely confirmed that she was going to be upset with him later. Her hands went limp in the water for a moment and she sighed, then picked up a towel and dried off her hands before taking her son and heading back upstairs. Kelligrin was much happier once he had attention though he was still fussy as she was getting him dressed and changed. Setting him in his crib with a toy to keep him occupied, she took a quick shower and came back out wrapped in a towel. Dressing quickly in yellow, she picked the baby up and headed back downstairs, cloaking him and setting him on the floor. Walking back to the rack by the door, she pulled off and sheathed her daggers, then pulled on her own cloak.

The moment he was set on the floor, he was off like a shot, heading towards the kitchen. He crawled over to his father and sat down for a moment, tugging on his pant leg, then using it to stand up and lifting his arm in the pick me up gesture before he toddled for a moment and plopped back on his bottom.

"Only a few taxation issues and some financial books to do. Nothing that can't be put off if you need something."

Malik kept to his food, as if he hadn't a clue as to why his son might want to have some time with him. even though everyone that knew about this knew why or had guessed why.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 14, 2007 1:33 pm

Well...she wasn't going to be a happy woman was she? Nope she wasn't then again that was nothing new now was it? Not at all. But a look down to the little cloaked toddler who had used him to stand, and then promptly plop again. Reaching down, he lifted the child into his arms. "Still trying hm? You'll get the hang of it." Patting the child's back and then joining Zahara at the door, grabbing his pole arm. Well, might as well get on thier way then and see how angry the women could be exactly.

Hm, okay well it seemed dad wasn't going to bring it up...which meant he was going to have to wasn't he? He didn't know exactly how he felt about that or anything really...after all, parents usually brought up the important stuff and well...he wasn't stupid. He could feel something wasn't entirely right with his parents as the moment...they felt kinda blah. "Good then, after breakfast we can talk." And thus onto his food. He had done his part on it.

She let him go out first and locked the door behind him since he had Kelligrin in his hold. Lifting her fingers to her mouth, she let out a whistle and then waited for Faete to come galloping up. Like a good boy, Zykariel had let the Nightmares and Zephmares out to roam the Underdark. They all knew how to get back home and she wouldn't have to worry about anyone trying to steal them either. No Nightmare or Zephmare was caught unless they wanted to be and they never wanted to be. Taking Kelligrin from him, she gave him her casual peck on his cheek. "I'll meet you there." Kelligrin had translocated before...and protested quite loudly. He did not like it and did not want to go through it again. Thus he got to zip and she got to ride. It worked out for everyone. Fifteen minutes later, child in hold, she was watching Faete gallop off into the darkness and heading up the steps to Twilight. Three knocks and she was let in by a serf before she went to go find the D'vinn's. "Morning everybody. Piper, we need to talk." Code for, 'we need to drink and carouse.'
