Yeah, they must HATE us older members (older as in real age) because we actually come on to TALK to people *GASP!!!!* instead of just poll and post whore.

The new system makes poll whoreing and massive posting nearly useless. But if you're chatting and surfing and polling once in a while, you don't notice the drop as much.

The new voting feature is alright I guess. But its biased toward threads that get a lot of visits. Which isn't necessarily the same as good threads.

It's kind of neat but it bothers me a little bit. They have this thread counter thingy up in my main gaia screen and in the channels that has the most popular thread up at top and then the rest in descending order of popularity.. to say nothing of quality.. because the top thread for the past 3 days has been this "I laughed at the 9/11 video my teacher showed me and got detention" thread."
OK> while that had my attention for oh.. 2 seconds and I checked it out.. the real result has been that the thread is still at top even though the majority of the conversation has been derailed and they have basicalyl turned it into free for all discission that accidentally dovetails back into topic from time to time.
I don't know if that's due to the thumbs up/down thing or just because of popularity but if they will do that I wish they would just close down chatterbox and have done with it.

Well the first day, one of the so-called "good" threads was one of those embarrasing "girls stuck in a mansion with guy vampires" or some such nonsense. So it's obviously not being monitored very well either. And of course, the Rina post about bachelor hats is still on the list so... I think it's pretty useless too. But I gotta tell you about a Guild invite I received... it said: admin You have been invited by O n y x to join ~Boredom~. This guild has an entry fee of 0 to join. This amount will be automatically deducted from your account if you accept the request. Please choose from one of the following options. That's why most of my time spent here is now in AoG where we think in more mature (well,only slightly more mature terms in my case :p haha) terms. I think if they tinkered too much with the guild system they'd have a riot smile

I accidentally hit just "accept" this time, but that wasn't the craziest part.
I saw the icon that indicates you have a new friends request, but when I clicked it, my friends list said "you have no new friends requests." Then I went to the approvals list, and Ananda was there.
But yeah, I hit "accept" and now I have no idea what will happen. She's not showing up on my list, for sure.
