A Raid is a group of players made of 6 or more people, up to 40 people total, eight groups of 5. You use them when doing specific, large scale instances, like Molten Core(First raid ever), Karazahn(the s**t in TBC), or the one in Northred where you fight the Lich King. They have endgame level drops, normally one or two per boss, and have a series of bosses with creatures in between.
Fun stuff, main reason I played the game besides the occasional ownage in 2v2 arena.
In the server I'm making up, we could end up doing these Rain Instances with only a regular group of five people, make it seem more epic like.

And Yomi, normally you have to be endgame level to do them. Now meaning 80.
BUT! If I get everything working right, we can do one with three or four or five of us. I'll just have to alter some stuff around and it shouldn't be a problem.

It was fun.
There were three of us-
Me: the 300lbs white guy
Derek: the tall, skinny, German-Japanese kid
Chris: the already questionably gay, self spoken gay, asian
We were all friends, and we would do all this funny stuff, from hanging onto each to taunting them, etc etc etc.
