From my experience watching All My Children, all we need is "jobs" in order to explain our prolonged absenses... AN no one is ever truly dead...
Like you ghost boy T-something rather... He could try to poses VIncent in an attemp to win you over, only to be spoiled by Bastet's discovery of the ploy at a critical moment when his plan seems to be successful.

have a plans incase of that very thing.....
PLAN A: Run like a madman, screaming loudly.
PLAN B: Change my name and move to a differnet room.
PLAN C: Get sympathy points for getting the crap kicked out of me, and manipulating the guy's actions into proof against any love he once held for said girl.
PLAN D: Switch places with a creature capible of defeating this person, and usurping his identity.
PLAN E: Ignor plans c and d becaseu they go agianst Nelphean's code of conduct.

You should add
PLAN F: Cower in corner under intense gaze and beg for forgiveness
