Completely unsure of his own abilities now, Hato tried yet again to perfect his jutsu abilities. Trying to get into the habit of doing the jutsu, he just couldn't find the right place to close the chakra flow within him.
Curious, he tried to simply focus not on doing the jutsu, but instead on the nearby hot springs, and the steam coming off the soothing waters. Putting his full attention to the water, he attempted the jutsu one more time.

Now not even focusing on his own chakra, and instead on the water in the springs, his attention was so diverted that he couldn't focus on the chakra and the water at the same time, failing to use the technique at all.
He tried to think of another way he could possibly use the jutsu better, but he wasn't sure on how to proceed because he had done almost everything available to him. What could he do now?
*I suppose I'll just have to keep concentrating on my chakra system and hope I find out the missing factor.

Again on pure instinct, he tried to do the jutsu. Failing to truly connect to his own system, he was frustrated with his own failures.
Flashing back to his past failures in life, he thought of how he had never even known his parents. His father had left before he was even born, most likely drafted into a local village against village war, and his mother had died giving birth to him.
*My life has been completely filled with failure, how am I supposed to go against fate?*
Hato was getting depressed now, thinking about his parents that he had never known, and will never know. The thoughts made him nauseous, and he became distracted from learning the jutsu properly. Hato was unsure if he should even continue with the training.

Uncertain about his own abilities, Hato failed to break up his own chakra system yet again. His failures were just never-ending today.
*I wonder if I could find anybody to help me with this training...oh well nobody is even in the main room of the dojo, so I guess I'm stuck here alone for now.*
He got ready for his next possible failure, and took a deep breath.

Almost immediately after preparation and his attempt at using the release, he knew that it wasn't working because of the energy he felt flowing, where it should have been stopped in certain areas, allowing him to see through a potential genjutsu.
Hato sighed and thought about how to better do this.
*I was doing so well a few minutes ago, what changed?*
Thinking about how he had succeeded in using the jutsu just moments before, he realized that what changed was his attitude. Instead of being disheartened and sad, he would try to perk up, be a little happier and more confident.
*Maybe then I'll get this.*

It seemed as if his happiness was indeed affecting the outcome of the training, as he once again felt the chakra building up within him, but when he tried breaking the flow, he failed to grasp again, where to break it.
Feeling more confident in the fact that he had possibly discovered the factor he was missing before, he tried to cheer up as much as he could before trying again. Perhaps if he got happy enough, he would be able to better touch his chakra system and learn where the best spot would be to break the flow.

Focusing a bit too much on the actual position of where to break the flow of circulation, even his happiness could not overcome the fact that he was distracted, and not 100% throwing his resolve into learning the jutsu, and therefore this attempt was a failure. Instead of being saddened by this next failure, he was in fact more confident that the next one would be a success.
*I will learn this technique!*

Hato realized that instead of being happy, he had replaced that emotion with confidence. Realizing his mistake too late, he had already applied his energy into trying to use the jutsu. Immediately failing, he felt embarassed, but also lucky that there was nobody around to see him stumble so quickly in learning a jutsu.

Again, he tried to perk himself up, but again, he was trying to do it out of fear that it would help his jutsu, instead of being really happy.
*How do I trick myself to think of happy thoughts, and then not get distracted by them and do the actual technique?*
Hato applied his mind to it, and kept trying to think of things that would make him happy, but few things in his life had made him feel that certain emotion, so it was hard as he combed through his memories in search of something that would make him truly happy.

*Ughhh, what could possibly help me learn this jutsu better?*
Hato was trying to think back to a previous memory that might apply to this jutsu training now, but he felt that he didn't have any memories that might help.
*Well, I guess I'll just try it on my own*
Failing yet again trying to use pure luck, Hato was starting to get frustrated with his lack of skill and success.

Starting to rely more on luck than anything else, Hato thought that maybe drilling the jutsu would help him master it and learn it faster.
He got into a stance and tried the technique lightning fast, but he failed to grasp the concept again, and he couldn't feel his chakra system circulating as well as before.

Again, Hato attempted the jutsu as quick as he could. He could feel his chakra system, but with his rushing, he couldn't feel the power breaking in the areas he wanted it to.
*I'll just keep going at it!*
He kept his confidence high and his mind focused as he got ready to do the technique again.

Hato failed once again and was losing confidence rapidly. How was it possible to be having such difficulties? He attributed his failures to the lack of concentration he was using, and he got ready for yet another attempt to release his chakra circulation.

This time, Hato took a few minutes to prepare, and his preparation gave him a slight rest time, and his confidence was boosted.
*I can do this!*
Hato confidently took a stance and closed his eyes, feeling for the pulse of chakra going through his body. He found it almost immediately, and he closed it off, and reopened it. Feeling the chakra flow breaking, he grinned like a little kid, happy that one more success happened, bringing him close to his goal.

From his past success, he tried again almost immediately, but to no avail. It seemed that training for this jutsu truly was hit and miss, but he was sure if he drilled it into his mind, he would be able to do it almost immediately eventually.
Hato smiled at his recent success, and took a moment to stretch out his arms and legs, his muscles moving, and getting his pulse up, he got ready to do it again.
