Fira jumped back a little when the vines of the tree lit on fire. It scared her at first then she stood up to help when they wrapped around Maki's body. Yet she was too slow as Shinja cut down the flames.
Fira could do nothing, but watch as Maki woke up and then pass out again. She had a worried look as she walked up to Shinja, and the limp Maki, "What's wrong with her?"

Meanwhile back in the hospital room, Zetsuei was still sitting in the chair in his meditative regenerative state. His wounds healing themselves, at this time when when his body was healing his own power was being increased as well.

Maki...why do you feel as though you are nothing more than dead weight? I don't mind...
Shinja removed his sunglasses after hugging Maki back, not letting go as she passed out again. "She's...sick." With his sunglasses removed, Shinja got a better look at the woman who was with Maki. "Hm...do I know you? You look familiar..." He squinted his eyes for a few moments before standing up with Maki in his arms.
I missed you too, Maki.

Maki fell inside the darkness, down in the bottom she hears a voice. Looking down she could see nothing then suddenly flames burst up and she's back on the melting island in the sea of Lava. "This is familiar," she said as the lava began rising. "Great." Ignoring the pain she leapt to the first ledge and hopped from ledge to ledge to get well above the lava.

"Sick?" Fira repeated with a slightly cocked head as she looked at Maki. Then her eyes looked up at Shinja as he asked her a question, she simply shrugged, "Probably not, a lot of people don't know who I am."

"Hm. Well you look oddly familiar..." Shinja looked at her once more before chuckling. "Ah, I see...when I saw you, you presented a different face. One with a beak...and fire..." He let out a muffled laugh before opening the door to the hospital.

Beneath the ledges the lava began rising, "you've come back to play with me." The creature hissed as it rose above the lava as high as it could. Fortunately Maki was several ledges above him. "Yeah... just let me find my sword and we'll have a blast," she said as she leapt towards the ledge where she last saw the sword. "You're not taking me away from my friends any longer. Unnngh." The pain from her side began throbbing as some blackened blood began seeping from the now open wound. "No... not again," she said as she felt her legs suddenly giving away. On the ground where her blood splattered vines appeared and began wrapping around her legs. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

From her dream to real life the blood seeping from her side began dripping to the floor and where they splattered the tiles melted and into the ground beneath it. Soon vines appeared and they were reaching towards Shinja and grabbed Maki's legs quickly wrapping around them.
In her unconcsious state Maki called out, "Noooo! I won't go back! Where is my sword!"
In a dreams state she struggled to free herself from the vines not aware Shinja was carrying her and not even aware that Fira was there beside them both. All she can see is the pit of firey lava and a creature moving towards her. All she could think of is the sword on the top ledge and soon broke free from Shinja who in her mind were the creature's hands coming for her and she runs for the stairs close by and runs up them. Opening the wound further, releasing more blood that seems to draw on the vines as they grew thick and chased her.
"What do you want from me!?!" she screamed as she flew up the flights of stairs til she reached the damaged roof. "Leave me alone! Shinja!!! Zetsuei!!! Where are you!!!"
In her mind she is on the last ledge as she stood on the edge of the damaged roof of the hospital where in her mind she sees the creature with its wide gaping mouth and prepares to jump.

Without hesitation, Shinja brought down the blade of his Kusanagi sword onto the vines, destroying them. "Maki! Calm down! It's just me, Shinja!" He suddenly shoved his blade into one of the vines, piercing both the vine and the floor beneath it before he ran to Maki and hugged her tightly. "Maki, it's me...please listen to me..."

Fira ran after Maki and Shinja as she stopped and watched standing in the door way on the roof. She was confused, she didn't really know what the power of the orb could do. Only now she was starting to understand what it was capable of, if it was making Maki this sick by just an infecting her. She waited to see what would happen, and hopefully Maki would wake up.

The darkness that filled her eyes and the vision disappeared as Maki felt a warm and familar arm around her and she was quiet. Her heart slowed down and the blackened blood slowed its flow but beneath the hospital the vines wait for her to come back downstairs as they thickenend. A soft whisper in the winds echoed play with me.
"Shinja?" she asked turning around. "Where am I? What's happening? What's wrong with me? I'm scared."
She threw her arms around his neck and wept again as the vines began occupying the bottom floor and waited to ensnare Maki ... waited to feast upon her tainted blood again like an addiction.

Slowly opening his eyes, Zetsuei looked over at his wound which was healed and with a wave of his hand his torn clothing was repaired.
"I need to talk to Shinja about his brother"
Grabbing his gun he opened the three chambers and reloaded them all from the bullets on his belt then reholstered his gun.
"I wonder where Shinja and Maki are doing. Maki condition still worries me, I hope she is ok."

"...This maybe true my friend, come the tracks lead this way..."
Kisaragi and his new friends walked of in the direction of that tracks hoping to find his sister and maybe return a friends favour...
"...I have an idea, do you have that scarf, maybe if i can catch hi sent it might be easier to find him...but i have to say, its a big world..."

"Thank you Kisaragi but although he is important to me it is more important we must follow the tracks of your sister she may be wounded or still in danger."
Kyana pulled the piece of scarf from her pocket and decided she would keep it somewhere safer and tied it around her un gauntleted arm. It should be safe there.
The 2 then began to follow the tracks they were fresh and so far easy to follow. Kyana could see that the wolf seemed to be dragging at least one leg so couldnt have got far but this was not what worried her there were instead 2 sets of tracks.

Maki looked into Shinja's eyes for an honest answer.
"What's happening to me? Why am I having all these visions and nightmares?" she asked. Her eyes red from crying. Her head began pulsing again as if she was beginning to swoon but fought it as best as she could to stay aware and waited for Shinja's answer.
