Why did Israfel feel all of the sudden very nervous? Oh Jack, israfel couldn't even look Lucien in the eyes! "You..handsome. Very. yes." Jack, he was stumbling with words now? Get it together Israfel! This was Lucien! Lucy! Your firend! Shaking his head, Israfel tried to ignore his muddled emotions. Lucien was giving him a bit of a puzzled look, causing the siren to chirp in confusion. "Um, dance yes." Taking one hand in his own, Israfel got into the position he'd been taught as a small siren. Dancing could lure sailors, just as much as singing and looking pretty. While he wasn't the best at it, the siren was alright in terms of what to do. "So we um, hold hands like this and you put your hand on my hip just like, um here." Reaching, Israfel couldn't help but blush and the ghost and monster were now brought closer. Ear wings were flat to his head as his regular wings fell to his sides, the siren taking a few deep calming breaths.
"Now we um, start to move slowly." Israfel was taking the female roll but with Lucien not knowing how to lead it would be a joint effort. "We have to move as a mirror. That way we can avoid stepping on each others toes or bumping into each other by accident."

After a quick consultation with the gnomes, which ended in another punch and some hair being pulled out, Riley strode back out to pat Aksaja on the back. Sorry, Aksaja. Though, if it helps, you look very dashing today.
She looked underneath Aksaja's feet, and cringed, before picking Astra off the floor and carrying her back to the stage with her under one arm. She deposited the faerie on the stage, and returned to the dance floor to tap out the last couple that the gnomes had been fighting over.
Sorry, Livi, Carry. While I think you both look gorgeous, the gnomes have no sense of style. Don't stop dancing just because you're out of the competition, though. You look lovely out here.
Carry and Livi, Aksaja, and Astra are out!

Whisper arrived at the dance rather late, thanks to a malfunction with her dress. In fact, she ended up wearing something completely different due to said malfunction. There was no way she was missing this thing, especially because she had a three way date with Natalia and Mei. Well, it was more a date with Natalia and Mei would be there to hang out.
Wisp made her way around as she watched the dance contest, hoping to bump into her dates.

Leading Tess out onto the dance floor Sepheran let one hand slide to her waist the other coming to take hold of her free hand. "Just look at me, don't worry about anyone else. If anyone is looking at you it's because they are jealous at seeing such a lovely ghoul at the dance," he smiled trying to keep her calm as he gently began to move swinging her from side to side. "Trust in me and Liannan, we won't steer you wrong," he replied softly closing his own eyes and heightening his hearing the sound of shuffling clothes and Liannan's helpful warning should he miss something were enough to keep him from bumping into any other couple on the dance floor.

Colette accepted Calder's hand and tried to follow his movements on the dance floor. She wasn't too confident knowing she had no clue how to dance, but she tried. She just hoped she wouldn't step on his toes, or that he wouldn't step on hers. It was a hunch that hooves on your feet might not feel the best.
Mental motivations were popping in her head now and again; things along the line of "I can do this." But when Calder got closer, Colette blushed and lost focus. She wasn't use to being so close to someone.
Glancing at the other dancers, Colette whispered to Calder, "Sorry, I hope I'm doing alright.. never actually did dance before." Which was probably best to mention earlier.

Lucien was listening intently to Israfel's directions, trying to do everything he said perfectly. He could do it! Israfel was a great teacher, right? Israfel had never let him down before, he surely wasn't about to tell him false information, and he certainly wasn't didn't want to let Israfel down.He had to do it right! Slowly his hand carefully followed Israfel's directions to his waist and rested there on his Israfel. His Israfel. He had given freedom to his precious bird from the bidders just the day before and now he was back in his arms.
He tried to follow Israfel and soon he was moving with him in a rhythmic pattern. He certainly had not stepping on his feet down considering he floated just a little above the ground! He was nervous, and would have been stumbling around a lot had he actually been on his feet. He hoped he pleased Israfel though.
"Like this?! Like this?!" Lucien said a little too excitedly as he looked Israfel in the face, promptly blushing before looking down at his feet so he wouldn't accidentally step on his toes... even though he was floating. Surely he could do it and mess it all up!

Riley had been sitting on the stage, watching Israfel and Lucien dance. She couldn't help it. Israfel worked so hard to bring others together, and yet, there was something so gut-wrenchingly precious about watching him stumble with Lucien. She found herself swaying just slightly in rhythm with their movements. Israfel was blind if he couldn't see how-
"Yeah, Israfel and Lucien are out."
Riley's eyes widened, focusing down on the gnome who'd uttered those terrible words. Unfortunately, none of the other gnomes seemed to be disagreeing - but it was the gnome that had spoken up who faced her wrath.
How dare you. She seethed, picking him up by the neck with one tentacle. There she watched the gnome turn purple, and all sorts of other colors, before letting it go. She stepped on it as she stormed off, heading for Israfel and Lucien. Her arm wrapped gently around Israfel, and she hugged him instead of tapping his shoulder.
The gnomes say you're out of the contest, but do me a favor. Don't stop dancing. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go finish killing a gnome.

Amrita was about to do her customary whine of 'My head isn't hard!', but luckily Charlie distracted her enough with his, uh, interesting idea of dancing. Not that she knew how to dance anyway! It didn't help the situation, and when Riley was forced to tap them out, she was actually relieved. A wide grey eye stared up at Riley in pure gratitude.
She would have thanked the Demoness out loud as well, had Charlie not already started dragging her off in a manner that could still be argued as dancing, but...probably wasn't.
Aww, she couldn't even stay to watch her friends!
"I-I'm sorry I got us tapped out!" She managed to get out once she recalled exactly why they were moving away from the main group of dancers. Poor Charlie, he clearly wanted to dance and she was...so very bad at it.

Tess was, in a word, overwhelmed. Well, that was even putting it mildly. She had accepted the bouquet (they were beautiful!) from Sepheran and let him lead her to the cafeteria. When they arrived, it became apparent to the winged vampire that there was a dance contest going on! She saw her friends dancing when memories of the Monster Ball suddenly flashed in her mind, which led her to memories of the Singles Board, which led her to memories of the Other Bathroom, and subsequently the Haunted Laundry Room. Needless to say, reliving all that in quick succession left her speechless and stunned.
At least until she heard Sepheran's comforting voice. The boil managed to bring her out of her reverie without jarring her, and for that she was utterly grateful. She nodded, smiling anxiously, before remembering to answer, "O-okay, I'll trust you both." With no hips to sway or feet to shuffle, Tess was beginning to feel conscious again. But she did as the basilisk said.
Focus on him and Liannan, She told herself, keeping her eyes locked on his handsome face and her cheeks once again made a very convincing impression of a blush. Her wings flapped in time to the music without making a sound, the hem of her dress swaying in lieu of her missing hips. "You move so fluidly. Did you ever take cotillion or does it come naturally?" she asked shyly. If anyone apart from the judges was looking at them, she'd think they were looking at Sepheran and not her. Well, she couldn't blame them.

The throbbing music quickly infiltrated his swimming head as Icky clumsily careened down the hall. Occasionally his movements slowed and he would rest a hand on the nearest wall, letting his claws drag against the dark stone and accompany the music with a dull scratching noise heard only by his own ears. The red bags beneath his eyes were darker than usual, more pronounced as if he hadn't slept a wink, and in place of a characteristic grin or swinging tongue was a tightly closed mouth, just the smallest edges of his teeth poking out between his lips.
Icky's outfit looked dirty, even dirtier than it had been at the auction. There was a large dark spot on his side as if someone splashed him with something and the smell of alcohol was all too apparent on his clothes and breath while there was none to be found on his person. Whenever the boggart regained his footing, he would attempt to mumble and hum along with the music even if he didn't know the words or like the song to begin with, resulting in some rather interesting additions on his part -- mostly involving a slew of curses and caustic giggles.
Unlike at the auction, when the monster reached the doors, he gently pulled one open and let it close softly behind himself. He stood at the entrance for a moment, scanning the crowd blankly as acidic gas bubbled up into his throat and he let out a quiet belch.
Everyone was up and dancing with their dates or mingling, all the students paired together either with their ghouls and boils or their gaggle of chattering friends. There was no sign of a certain ghoul. His stomach squirmed uneasily and he looked away, using the wall to keep himself upright as he scouted out a place to sit. There were snacks lined up on some tables, complete with some sort of punch in a few colors. A clawed hand rested on his stomach for a moment before he determined that he would need some food to settle down. Mellow as he was, he wasn't right because he had gone and drank a lot on an empty stomach. That and who could pass up free food?
Without a word or glance to anyone, the boggart moved around a few groups, through some others, and stopped in front of the snack bar. All sorts of chocolates, cakes and candies; chocolate covered roaches, strawberry snot cakes, caramel hearts (where did they get the hearts for that, Icky wondered) and all sorts of things he hadn't seen before themed in red, black and... sometimes pink. His lip curled at the pink but food was food so Icky grabbed an armful of as many things as he could carry, not even bothering with a plate, and poured himself a glass of punch. With everyone standing, it was easy to find an empty table and Icky plopped himself down, dropping a few of his snacks. Letting out another belch, his tongue snaked from his lips and curled around one of the chocolate roaches to pull it back into his mouth.
It tasted funny but maybe that was the booze messing with his senses, it was already messing with his motor skills. As he ate, he slowly felt more at ease and let his eyes wander more. Eventually he spotted a certain fancy-dressed snot monster accompanied by a doll with some of the best legs he had seen on a ghoul -- besides the cracks. He gave a short, yellow toothed grin at the sight, unsure if Bul caught sight of him yet, before returning to his 'meal'.
A free hand slid into one of his pockets, two long wooden claws gently curling around the small skull pin he had retrieved at the auction. Before he arrived, he made sure to slip a flask of cider beneath not only Bul's but Sarias' doors, some of the strongest stuff he knew how to get his claws on and exactly what he had been drinking that night. Would she even bother coming? Well, it wasn't as though he had said who the cider was from and she needed this pin. Surely she would track him down eventually.

[OOC - Sarias is currently in her Dorm room - the next post will be her arriving at the dance]
Sarias had spent the few hours after the charity auction trying to sooth her aching throat. her voice horse and brittle, and the area between her head and neck was on fire. Even in her natural state it didn't seem to stop the burn that was growing deeper. Why was her screaming having this effect? She knew of other banshees, banshee who were in physical, solid forms and could scream a house down! So why was she suffering like this. She coughed into her hands, the transparent liquid on her wrists now dry but her mouth replaced it all when she spluttered in pain. She thought over her encounter with the Boggart and grimaced. Wrapping her arms around her to place her hand on opposite shoulders she closed her eyes imagining the scene.
"What did i do?"
She shook her head in protest to his voice ringing in her head. "Uhh you didn't do anything." She echoed, up until that point she had enjoyed herself. She was freak go sue her. But whatever he did to make her tingle like that, he had it in spades....the creepy little s**t that he was.
The clunking of glass against floor board cut her thoughts in half, peering over to her door she saw a cider bottle roll gently, coming to a stop beside her bed. She allowed the air in the room to pick her up and she floated towards it reading the label as she drew closer. "hmmm..." she grinned as she recognized the heavy duty moonshine version of cider she knew as someone's preferred brand of poison. Pushing a smoke tendril towards it she forced it back to its right side up, and with a twist of another she pulling the cork out with "pop!" In this form she couldn't drink, she had nothing to process it....but that didn't mean she couldn't get drunk. As quick as she could she jumped up into the air and shot herself into the bottle, flying down its neck until she reached the amber liquid inside. Once there she spread her self out to become one with cider. In anything larger than this bottle liquid of any sort can be deadly to a ghost, but contained within its glass walls she was allowed to wallow within its heavenly confines.

Oh, but Gabrian had to admit that the whole ordeal had been horribly entertaining. When he'd set out to take his revenge on Ren, he hadn't expected it to go quite this well. In fact, the nix had very much expected his whole plan to backfire. When it didn't and had, instead, turned out better than he had planned, well, it left him feeling particularly pleased with himself, "Nope, Given the fact you were taking on the submissive role earlier... I think we should obviously continue falling into place, Ren," his hands were neatly tucked into his pockets, his tie in place, and amusingly enough, during their earlier ordeal, he'd made sure the gryphon's clothes and hair were all in place.
"I say we go find our ghouls and have a bit of fun now, yes," he turned a smirk on his friend, still more than slightly amused. In fact, overall, the nix was in an extremely good mood; this was due to the fact that he rarely lashed out against his friend (it generally took quite a bit to get Gabrian to plot out revenge), but when he did and succeeded at it... well, it was simply more than slightly entertaining, "Oh, geez, Ren. Stop your sulking. You very much enjoyed that, even if it scared you stiff. Besides..." and here he leaned over towards his friend, as if he were about to whisper something particularly incriminatory, "I won't tell them if you don't. Your secrets are safe with me. For now."
He spotted both Alessa and LW just a small way away and reached out to grab the gryphon by the wrist, "I see them," he gave his friend a slight tug before letting go. Alas, before he got to the ghouls, he noticed the gnomes and the sign up for the dance competition. Given the fact he was feeling particularly daring that night, he reached up and signed himself up with the she-wolf.
Gabrian and Little-Wolfe will be dancing like we've never danced before!
That done, he made his way towards LW, sparring the nagual with her a small glance before bowing down before them both, "It seems Ren has graciously released me from my auction duties, which means... that I would be most delighted if you would consider taking me on as your escort for the night, my dear," and as he said that, he reached out, taking LW's hand in order to place a soft kiss on it's back, "Please forgive the chaos caused and.... would you perhaps grant me the honor of dancing with me?" yup, he was still feeling high from his earlier triumph.

Morton was not used to going to parties. He was also not very used to wearing more formal wear, and he'd actually required help from Coralie to set his clothes straight once or twice before reaching the ballroom, "On a scale of one to ten, just how ridiculous does this look on me?" he asked the ghoul whom was, amusingly enough, hanging onto his arm, "I never understood clothes... I only wear them because they look cool usually," but then again, being skeletal, Morton had very little need for clothes.
Seeing a how the whole night (technically the whole day, but he was going step by itty bitty step here) was meant to be spent doing whatever he wanted... the gargoyle set himself to the task of seeking out things to do. Eating was out of the question (for him anyhow - he'd offer her food later), since well, he didn't want to ruin the clothes; he had very little need for food. Drinks were just about the same and-
Waitaminute... those couples were dancing, weren't they? That was not only within the realm of plausibilities, but it was also something he'd been wanting to do. As such, he turned to look at Cora, a silly grin plastered on his face, "How about we show them how it's really done?" and by 'showing them how it was really done' he meant making a general fool out of themselves since he er... had no idea how to dance, whatsoever!
Morton and Coralie will be dancing like we've never danced before!

A bit occupied with looking at the floor a moment, he shot his eyes back up and gave a nervous smile. "Oh no. You're doing great. You're a natural." Then again, it wasn't like they were doing swing or the waltz here, but taking it easy seemed to be working for them. They had yet to be disqualified, and it seemed that they were doing much better than some. He heard a few outs being shouted from the gnomes one by one, and he had yet to hear their name. As of yet, he didn't know if that was a good or bad thing. Sure, it was nice just easily dancing in place, turning slowly, but they were close now, and he was more or less trying to make sure he had his footing by keeping his hand against her back. There was definably something up with this floor. It was really strange. He had no problem at school moving about. There usually was slime or dirt or some manner of nastiness and he never had any problems with that. Here….this floor……….it was evil!
He tried to keep talking so she wouldn’t notice his concern. "Haven't danced before? I would think someone like you would be asked to a lot of dances. Not even a family get together?" He asked, glancing up to her and trying to see if there was a reason she wasn't taken to dances.

Her eyes went wide as her date whisked her away to the dance floor. Wait, she wasn't prepared for this! Before she knew it, her body was pressed close to his and they were moving to the music. She hoped it didn't look as awkward as it felt. She tried to summon what confidence she could and pushed back from the patchwork boil. She stomped each foot down on the ground, her black heels nearly snapping in the process. She ran her hands through her hair in an attempt to dishevel it. Then she began to dance, her body weaving like a snake against the music. She placed a hand on Christof's bigger shoulder and began to dance around him. While her hand turned along with her body, she did not remove it. She danced and writhed around at his back before twirling around to dance against his front.
Never had she danced before so she had no idea what she was doing but it felt so right. It felt so good. Perhaps she was a natural? Perhaps this was just a fluke? It was hard to say.
Morrigan was so into her dance that she barely noticed what her partner was doing but she was dancing for him. She cared nothing about games and contests. It was Christof she danced for and she danced her little butt off.
