.Lake. Lake chuckled, glancing back at her for a moment and shaking his head.
"Somebody's an eager beaver. You know, this injury isn't as bad as it looks...I can still do all the same stuff I could do before," he said slyly, wriggling his eyebrows at her.
Hey, it was bad enough without cigarettes and booze...he had to try his luck at SOMETHING.
There was only one place Lake knew how to get to that he felt that there was, at least, a chance that others would stay away from. A place that most people tried to stay away from at all costs, due to its very nature.
To him, right now, the isolation cells sounded like a pretty good idea.
"Ahh..."
Not having explained any of this to Kira, he strolled happily into one of the padded cells once they had arrived in the vicinity and flopped onto the soft floor, resting his hand over his empty stomach. "That's a little better," he sighed, closing his eyes again and stretching out. "Softer than the bed I woke up on, anyway..."

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Kira kept silent. She'd found that saying no yielded no result, so maybe ignoring him would be a better response. Or.. lack of response. Somehow, she doubted that would make him stop trying. Or rather, hinting. Luckily he'd yet to really physically try anything, thus her semi-safe feelings remained while in his presence. At least compared to everyone else she'd met.
Except for ice man. What ever happened to him?
She stopped dead as she realized where they were headed.
White padded walls. She hovered anxiously by the doorway, staring inside. It make her think of straitjackets, which made her think of being captured and locked up, which- ...made her recall that she already was. She was more free-roaming than her dreams had entailed, but it was almost just as bad.
She regarded the cell through narrowed, wary eyes, and weighed her options. Basically, there were two; crawl in with this fresh blood source in a room from her nightmares and try to sleep, or go back and risk her luck alone. Maybe she could curl up nearby the foul-mouthed giant or the crazy white haired man and use their intimidation for protection? Lake was pretty scrawny. But... she didn't trust either of those guys not to kill her, even if the one had listened. He'd only done so briefly, where it really mattered she supposed, and had blown off her questions a second after.
Huffing a sigh, she sulkily decided to enter, settling herself in a far corner and curling up tightly again, arms back around her knees and face buried in them. She suddenly looked like a mental patient, bundled up in the corner with her body slumped in a rather pitiful, helpless manner.
"...I need to get out of here. Soon."
She fell silent again for a second, swallowed, then slowly tilted her head to peek at him over her knees. "So.. so if I do change, like I said, you should get out and.. lock me in here. I mean it." ♥ ☓ ♥

.Lake. "Yeah, yeah...killer whiskers, I got it," Lake murmured, evidently too tired to try and argue with her. "Man, I'm hungry..."
He supposed that, in retrospect, transforming even once - not to mention twice - in so short a time was a bad idea. Doing so always made him hungry and tired...to put it likely. Even though he hadn't transformed fully, he knew that if he let himself fall asleep now, he wouldn't wake up for at least a day or so, and would need enough food to satisfy six grown men before he felt full enough...until his body had enough energy and nutrients to replenish what it had lost in the strain of his abnormal metamorphesis.
"Hey, relax," he rasped, lifting his head for a moment to peer at the huddled girl for a moment over his chest. She looked like a pitiful little ball of hair and cat ear in her corner, head buried in her knees. "Nobody wants to stick around these rooms, right? Well...not a lot of people, anyway. The point is, we'll run into fewer people hanging out in here than we will out there." He rubbed absently at his stomach, trying to quell the feeling of hunger and distract himself from the throbbing in his chest. "Just uh...make sure..." he yawned widely, "that no one can close...the door if you...decide to take a nap in here...hnn...who knows when...you'll be able to get out then..."

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓She wished he would take her seriously, but she wouldn't take him seriously either. They were at an impasse until one proved the other wrong, and she wasn't in any hurry. But worries over shifting continued to build and grow, which in turn simply improved the chances of it happening.
Kira exhaled a quiet sigh against her knees to try and calm herself, clearing her head of negativity, which was hard. The only indication that she heard Lake speaking was the twitch and perk of her ears, then the reluctant slight lift of her head.
"...yeah."
What if he was trapped in here with her?
Slowly, she crawled over toward the door, tugged off her sweatshirt, and bundled it against the frame, like a doorstop. It couldn't close with a blob of fabric in the way, right? After her task was done, she retreated back into her corner, resumed her huddled position, and proceeded to stare at Lake silently for several almost unblinking minutes.
Her mind wandered as she sat there, drifting over various things, like if Lake was lying about healing up fine and being alright, and if the white haired man had only said he knew her to cause confusion. She didn't see any reasons behind that though. He knew her somehow, and eventually she'd find out how. It wasn't like there was much else to do here. Then, there were the unavoidable thoughts about her dad, what he was doing, who he'd called so far to search for her. It'd help, a little, if she knew how long she'd been missing. But, none of these questions were anything she could answer.
When she finally fell asleep, her mind far from peaceful. ♥ ☓ ♥

• Ɇver Ⱥfter βetter Get Ңere... ღxxxx Ⱥɴиɑ-Ӎɑɍɪεxxxx ღ xxxxɈust like he was observing her...she was observing him. He was no prince, that was for certain, but he seemed fairly nice. Especially since he hurried here to make sure she was okay. Oh, how romantic! Oh...yeah...singing. "Well..the song was stuck in my head. I figured Queen wasn't that bad of a selection to sing out..." A lingering bit of embarrassment continued to hang on her cheeks, her eyes looking to the floor. When Craig stated he didn't know where he was, she began to nervously chew on the inside of her cheek, her toes curling and uncurling on the floor beneath her as she thought. Wait. Rest of them. You mean there's more people here?! she asked him with surprise. Of course, the surprise turned from hearing there were other people to someone manipulating metal.
"You mean... she began skeptically, watching him with a sort of odd expression, "like...a super hero?" And who was the supposed dumb blonde now, huh? Alright. She would...play along with this guy. Sure...he seemed a bit weird now that he was talking about magic people, but...he didn't seem like someone to do anything odd. At the moment. "Well...I thank you anyways, for being so nice," she finally said, smiling warmly to him. "Well...Mr. Craig, what do you suppose we do? I, for one, am not going to wander around here alone, and if I'm not going alone, then your not." She wasn't about to let this man wander off. Even if he did believe in the whole 'metal bending thing'...whatever. He hadn't made a move on her yet, and she knew enough defense to kick him in the groin and run away screaming.
She was fearless!

.Lake. Lake was not an attractive sleeper.
It wasn't that he snored, or made obscene gestures in his sleep...he didn't mutter vulgarities or suffer abnormal twitches.
He slept with his eyes open.
A skill he had taught himself out of an almost desperate necessity as a child, and one that had become something of a habit since then. It was useful, in that it allowed him to jerk awake the instant any movement passed his vision, even allowed him to appear dead so that certain potential enemies would overlook him.
He hardly managed to sleep for the intended two or more days he would have liked to, however, and in fact, found himself stirring begrudgingly into consciousness just a few hours after he had drifted off in the isolation cell. He snorted abruptly as he awoke, his already-open eyes focusing suddenly as he came back into awareness. He lay still for a few moments, allowing his gaze to wander around the room and his memory to return...then, heaving a sigh, he sat up, scratching the back of his head and trying to figure out what had woken him.
Hn...cat-girl's still here. Well, whaddya know.

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Kira was there, sort of in her same position, except sideways. She'd toppled over at some point, but her legs were still tucked in, her fingers grasping at the cloth of her jeans. Her eyes were closed, but her brow furrowed, troubled by whatever dream she was having.
Her ears were flattened, tail darting irritably through the air, batting against the padded wall she was laying against.
One hand had slid up to clutch at her hair, pulling slightly.
"N-nn..."
The first, tiny whimper escaped, sounding loud in the small room and the silence around them. More followed soon after, as her thin frame huddled closer into itself, squirming anxiously in place. ♥ ☓ ♥

.Lake. "Hey...hey! Wake up, kiddo."
He contemplated the possibility that waking up in her current environment might not be preferable to whatever Kira was currently experiencing, but regardless, a de-clawed hand reached out and shook the girl rather ungracefully in attempt to wake her up. "He-ey! Hello in there! Cat nap's over!"
He sighed. He probably wouldn't admit it, but he couldn't blame the poor kid for having nightmares in a place like this. Lake had long since trained himself not to make any noise while he slept, not to give any inclination that he was experiencing discomfort, but before he had mastered that technique, his sleeping habits had been similar to Kira's.
The wound in his chest seemed somehow diminished in the last few hours he had spent asleep - at the very least, the bleeding had stopped, and he felt a little better than he had before. He only hoped the smell of blood wouldn't draw out any unsavory characters from their unknown surroundings.
"Come on, kiddo." His voice was a little gentler. "Time to wake up."

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓"Nngh..."
Kira flinched, shrinking away from his touch as her eyes fluttered, then slipped fully closed. Her fingers tightened upon her hair, pulling at it as her body twisted slightly, jerking back into the wall.
Blood. It was everywhere. All over the floor. All over her hands. Paws. Fur. A snarl echoed in her ears, then a scream, and she felt herself running, blindly chasing after something. A shadow. A.. man? The cry rang out again, and she felt warmth flowing over her fingers as they dug into something soft. The taste filled her mouth. Hot. Metallic. It was so vivid. It was right there..!
"A-ah..!"
She choked out a yelp, muffled slightly by sleep. Her claws lengthened a little, and her hand suddenly slapped to the ground, releasing her head. Fingers curled to clutch at the padded floor, and tore jagged lines instead, soft growls mixing oddly with her whimpers. ♥ ☓ ♥

.Lake. Lake sighed, perhaps a little overdramatically. It wouldn't be the first time a woman had woken with a similar reaction to his presence - even without claws, a girl's nails could be a cruel weapon...
"Boy, are you a heavy sleeper. Hey, cat-girl! Wake up already, you're going wiggo on me!" He withdrew his hand from her, wary that it might have contributed to her vicious reaction, and shook his head. "C'mon, I'm not even that scary right now..."

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Her ears twitched, but Kira didn't hear them. They shifted, then flattened back, her growls growing a little deeper.
The blood was spreading. It was overwhelming. So close. In her mouth. On her hands. Paws. The man was still alive. He was moving. Thrashing under her. She wouldn't let him up. He kept screaming and her head lowered, tearing away more chunks of flesh. More blood. More screams and more growls.
The blood. Close. So close.
Her eyes snapped open, but looked slightly glazed. She lashed a clawed hand toward Lake, swiping the air before him, then withdrew and clutched at herself, whimpering and snarling as her fangs grew larger. Her jaw began to shift, fingers shrinking and expanding into paws. Her whole body was changing shape, sprouting dark fur that burst through her clothes, reducing them to rags that clung to her new form.
It was a bit larger than a house cat. A lot larger.
A panther was thrashing in the corner, jerking against the padded wall as it clawed at the floor, tearing it to shreds. As the shape neared completion, something silver glinted around its neck and a large paw slapped against it, snapping the chain and sending the locket flying.
The massive feline staggered to its feet, deep blue eyes glaring around, then spotted Lake and focused upon him. It crouched, claws pressing into the floor as its lithe form tensed. It snarled again, baring teeth, and appeared entirely all too ready to spring. ♥ ☓ ♥

"Fear. Fear is my ally." As Anna-Marie and Craig continued their chit-chat, they might have heard a slight rumbling in the distance. It slowly drew closer, and with each new rumble, they'd realize it sounded more and more like thunder. .Lake. "Well, whaddya know..."
Very slowly, Lake straightened up, keeping a very intent, careful eye on the massive cat that had lumbered to its feet in front of him.
"Niiice kitty..."
Guess she wasn't kidding. Those are pretty nasty claws.
"Hey, don't mind me. You can go back to sleep. I was never here." His muscles were locked, tense as the ones rippling through the cat...ready to spring away at the slightest indication that it would pounce. "Boy...so this is what I would've woken up to if we'd slept together, huh? I'll admit, that'd be a new one..."

They were Kira's eyes, but narrowed, staring as if sizing up prey. Its ears were flat, and even the tail was barely moving, just an ever so slight flick, back and forth, back and forth...
It felt cornered, more than anything. She had fallen asleep in a corner after all, and that's where it awoke, back to the wall, a stranger blocking its path.
The eyes darted toward the door, and it sprang without further warning. The large, oversized feline launched itself toward Lake, claws ready to tear its way through to escape. ♥ ☓ ♥

.Lake. "HEL-LO!"
Lake ducked and dived as the animal sprang, sliding underneath it as it leapt over him. He skidded forward on his front, tumbling into the corner the cat had been in, and hastily flipped onto his feet, ready to dodge again should it come around for another attack.
"Look, when I said I wanted you to jump me, this isn't quite what I had in mind..."
His crimson eyes gazed intently into her blue ones. They were the same color they had always been, but he saw no awareness behind them, no aspect of humanity.
"Hey, come on, now. Was it something I said?" He paused. He tended never to call people by their real names, fearing the vague sense of attachment it brought about with it...but when a hot girl tore out of her clothes and went on a rampage in a giant cat body, he felt he was obligated to do something. If only to ensure he didn't get eaten.
"Kira." His eyes narrowed slightly, trying to hold the animal's gaze. "Come on, Kira. I know you're still in there."
