I was just wondering...
I took the okiya placement test last week. I checked back after a week to know which okiya I was placed in, then I noticed that I wasn't placed in any okiya at all! All of the posts after my profile already have an okiya... and I think I my profile got missed out. sweatdrop

We have several... xp If it's for the pm'ing maiko/maid list...then I'm redoing that...speak with kairisesshy if it's the kenban. Speak with your okiya head geisha if it is another list that kairisesshy didn't make. PrincessRyoko Is it possible to take more than two classes? - as many as you'd like

Hello Sayuri/angel_baby_4,
could you please tell me what the difference between a servant and a maid at the inn is, and which of this positions would be better for a maiko to fill? Also, I am curious, wether I should play my regular character Ao-sagi at the inn or generate a new one to RP there. In the former case, would I need to RP a formal permission in the Kanenokikyou thread to get to leave the okiya to work elsewhere?
Thank you very much in advance!
Cheers,
Cin

Hello, I'm from Gion Baraen Guild. I believe we can be affiliates (actually we are already linking to your guild). Besides, I'd like our maiko/geisha to visit your classes. We can discuss the fee and conditions of these lessons. Thanks in advance, Lucya-san.

Besides, I'd like our maiko/geisha to visit your classes. We can discuss the fee and conditions of these lessons. Thanks in advance, Lucya-san. ^^ I can link you. Maybe we could be linked on the home pages of the guilds, as well. I'd love for the maiko/geisha to come to the classes. The fees and conditions can be discussed. errrm...maybe you should pm me. I need to know if you have yen systems for your guild and, if not, how we can set them up. ^^

I refuse to answer that question, kayio_chan. Look at the first page of this thread for the answer.

Ummm, since this is a geisha guild forum...well since tayuu and geisha where both artist and once worked togetehr in earleir years, while geisha enetrtained in a proper manner, the tayuu entertained in a evry intimate way. Can I open/start a tayuu house here? well, I basically just act out the life, art, and customs of the Tayuu minus the sexual aspect.
It will be called Wachaigaya , in real life it is the last remaining Tayuu house in Kyoto, it was permitted by the government to be opened and act as museums, also where hired atcresses act out the tayuu life and again minus the sexual aspect.

Well, the differeneces would be based on quality of life, and rank. You see, Tayuu where higher ranked than geisha, and in the Edo Period tehse courtesans was the same rank a daimyo, then later the 5th rank in the Imperial Court. Also, Tayuu had a "extravagant" life, they wore 3 kimono's made of silk adn where brightly coloured and outragous. However, when prostitution was banned in Japan, they where gone.
Tayuu talso had Kamuro's, they are the Tayuu's servants, usually they are kids in red kimono's who follow the tayuu where ever she went. They helped the Tayuu walk in figure 8 with her extremely high 10inch geta sandal, or carry her cigarrate set since Tayuu tend to have a habit on smoking.
There are some otehr differences in which I have to read my tayuu books again, my fvaourite one is "Women of the Pleasure Quarters", I also study geisha, favourite books was "Mineko Iwasaki: Geisha, A Life" and "Memoirs of a Geisha"
