DART OF SECKS KrazyassKow DART OF SECKS Proudly_Jewish ParanoiaPhyre My friend and I are taking Russian in high school next year.
We already know Spanish. We're learning Japanese, and my Korean friend's mother wants me to start taking Korean lessons with her daughter over summer.
We're hoping to mix up all these languages. Like, in a conversation, I might say one sentence in Spanish, and she'll answer in Russian. That way, nobody will be able to figure out what we're saying [unless a person knows Spanish, Russian, Korean, and Japanese o____O;;].
We are very excited about learning Russian, though. Thanks for all the websites to help us learn faster.
We heard, though, that in the beginning all we will be learning is the new alphabet. D:
Boring. We're already teaching ourselves that.
If anybody knows how to say the word "notebook" in Russian, it'd be grand if you could tell us the pronunciation. x) tyetrat smile tyeh-trat (the R is rolled quite heavily and the final T in the word is pronounced almost like "ts") So, it's spelled "тетрат "?Umm. no, there's a myahkiy znak somwhere.. . wait I'll check. Ugh, I'm very sorry, but see there are these textbooks I have from when I went to russian classes, and I can't find notebook in any of them. Really sorry. ...тетрадь?that's correct biggrin

Actually, Russian isn't part of an Asian family of languages at all. It's Slavic, and Indo-European just like English and German and French and pretty much anything Western. whee
I'll happily help you with the Cyrillic alphabet, though.

Hermonie Urameshi Meh...It's still on the Asian continent and has a more complex grammar than western languages. biggrin But it IS technically a Western language. talk2hand It's spoken in Europe too. biggrin It's actually fairly similar to Latin. Three genders and nominal cases (six, in this case; nominative, accusative, genitive, dative, prepositional/locative and instrumental). The cases are fairly easy; at least, as far as Russian goes.... It's the verbs that'll get you. Totally complex, but in a way completely dissimilar to the complexity of, say, French. xd Но я люблю русский язык! heart Should I teach you how to read the alphabet?:O

But I ' m more then JUST a l i t t l e curious
Not to P U L L - - - your H A L O
D O W N . . .
I adore listening and speaking Russian (and by speaking I mean just carefully copying some words a loud xD) I can not speak it yet, but one day I hope to be at least semi fluent. Strange as it sounds Russian has always sounded like cotten to me.
So far my Russian is pretty much limited too да and нет (da, nyet - yes, no) Did I get that correct? ;;>>
Truly though, I do envy anyone who can speak Russian. <3 its so beautiful. I've been told its quite difficult to learn, and I really should learn Spanish first, but Russian just captures my attention and interest so much more. Maybe one day I'll fullfil my dream of being able to speak English, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Vietnamese, and Korean xD
how will i you make my your amends to the D.e.a.D?

xD
I AM PATHETIC.
Recently at school, someone was wearing a bracelet that said "XBOX 360" on it. And of course, being me, I read it as saying "ХВОХ ЗБО" --- which would be transliterated as "HVOH ZBO." I was wondering what it meant for about five minutes until I realised that it was NOT in cyrillic!
xDDD
