:::Cora's already realized that along with disposing of her pain, a lot of he joy she once felt thinking about her friends, or even seeing them, had disappeared from her as well... but as long as she was on the lithium, that didn't seem to matter. She considered what Melliandra said... that even she retained some kind of joy:::

:::A moment later, Kal fades into the room, a few tables back. He's in the middle of laughing at something pleasantly, when he realizes that the echo he should be hearing off the walls of his grand hall are gone, and he looks around:::
:::He sees Cora, and a woman all in white, who he soon recognizes as Melliandra. It dawns on him instantly. Was this it? Was he witnessing a very important scene? ...was he interupting it?? A lump grew in his throat, and he became very quiet:::

At the front of her mind now was how Kal had lied to her about the part she played in his future. But at the moment, she couldn't muster up the anger to mention it to him.
