{{Whaaat? Aphrodite defending Ares?? Wow! lol. I like her being nice every once in awhile. It's a nice change. But I hope she still likes Ares b/c I've been looking forward to see what favor is going to demand from him due to their earlier pact! biggrin lol!}}

"That would be a pretty good reason. No one wants baseball bat in their eye." Musica said chuckling, but frowned when he saw her sit someone else and not with him. He loudly patted the bed, indicating for her to sit next to him on the bed. "Are you going to sit over there by yourself or sit with me? I promise I don't bite." He was smiling as he put his arms behind his head to relax. Now this was the kind of thing he enjoyed, save for the possibility that some teachers might kill him.

He frowned and grabbed her shoulder gently but firmly, stopping her. He didn't turn her yet. "Evermore..." he whispered. "I'm not going away." His face twisted. "Why did you run?" He couldn't understand. What had he said that was wrong? Sure, he'd thought that she--oh.

That hadn't been meant like that. He didn't want her to seem like she was a job or she had to be there or whatever the hell it was. She'd taken it the wrong way. It had just been for show.

"...I'm sorry."

s**t, did he just do that?

"It's cool. Makes you manly!" she said in a deep voice, trying to sound like a man. She failed miserably. Ari's fingers paused on the page as she took a moment to listen in on the movie. "Jeeze," she said, "It's been a while since I've listened to this!"

She quickly wiped at her cheeks when Ares put his hand on her shoulder. She did not want him to see her tears, although doing the action of wiping her face quickly probably gave it away.

She hissed, though, when one of her hands brushed roughly against her scratches and also rubbed salt from her tears in them. This caused her eyes to tear up even more from the pain, and more tears slipped down her cheeks.

She was very surprised to hear Ares apologize. She never thought she'd see the day that he would, but now, she was so hurt and so emotionally raw that it did little to make her feel better.

She couldn't see her own appearance, but she looked horrible. Tears were running down her cheeks, blood was smeared all along the one side of her face, and her eyes were bloodshot from crying. She didn't cry often, so even crying just for a short time irritated them.

"What?! What exactly are you sorry for Ares?! For calling me your job or for making me believe that you ca... cared for me when you really just wanted to make sure I went back to doing yours and my mothers' bidding?!"

She hated how her voice had cracked when she said the word 'cared'.

As Aphrodite reached the entrance, she let out a genuine squeal. "Daddy!" she said, and ran and hugged him, her blond hair flying everywhere. She really did love Zeus in a daughterly fashion, and was genuinely happy to see him.

When she registered what the Fury, Alecto, had said, she placed a hand on her hip and gave her an icy stare. "Evermore deserves a bit of a break... don't you think? By the sound of it, she's sick and tired of being pushed around. Maybe if you gave her a bit more leeway, she'd be more willing to listen."
