She plopped down on the arm of the chair and tossed back a headache potion praying it would help with the throbbing in her head. "Upsetting Zykariel, running off, being stubborn and ticking Malik off...any one of those could probably suffice." SHe shook her head for a moment, then reached up and began to play with his hair. "I know she thinks I'm being a b***h about it and Malik is demanding that I do it but I really have to think about this. If I cause her death, Malik will tear me apart. If I inadvertantly cause her death, what's to say he wont' do the same? He made a promise to you and he broke it...his word means nothing."

"I'll let you know later." All he had to say to her list of crimes and such. He really was processing right now. A slight sideglance though as she went to playing with his hair for whatever reason she chose to. "You already told her no, so you might as well stick to your answer. It's better to pick a side and stay on it rather than bouncing between the two sides of the fence."
And then a sigh as she brought up what he had been thinking about and he didn't like the thought of having to bring it all up, even though he knew he had to. "That promise is between me and Malik, let me handle it. I don't need to be prodded into realizing what he's done and not done." He was not going to play referee between them and thier hate for each other. Pulling her down from the arm of the chair and into his lap he touched two fingers under her chin, making her look up at him. "I know you anger easy, but running off everytime is not a good habit. You may not come back one day."

Oh goodie she had things to look forward to once he processed and decided whether or not he was upset with her. Which meant he might cuddle or be sweet now but later he might not even be talking to her. Wasn't age difference grand? "I got angry and said something I hadn't really thought through. I gave her my agreement at first and then when they kept pushing that third child and possibly more, I revoked it. So I just want to make it clear that if I help her, I do so of my own accord and not because Malik has threatened to sell Faete and lock me in a breaker room with spiders." His irritation rang through and she frowned then lifted her hands, "I wasn't planning on saying or doing anything about it. That's up to you, you're the one he made the promise too, just like you said." She released his hair as he moved her person and her eyes met his and she nodded. "I know." It had been very stupid of her to run after she'd been toppled and if it hadn't been for Faete, well, she probably wouldn't have come back. She pushed her head to the side so that it was more or less resting against his face and sighed. "I wish I could go back and redo this whole entire day. Some of it was enjoyable..."

Malik nodded to Zykariel.
"she's fine, with your father in the general living area."
though once the other one started off, his fingers drummed on the table in that highly annoyed fashion.
"she's going to help you. just don't mention having three or pushing on that front for now...she originally agreed to help on this second one, so keep it at that."
handing over the apple she'd forgotten about, and taking Zykariel from her for a moment.
"Get something to eat, you need it. and you, little man...you have a talent you and I need to talk about a bit here. apparently you got it from your mother but yours is stronger than hers. you know what telepathy is?"

"Did you ever think that after the second, she could be so wrecked up that she couldn't have a third, or wouldn't want to? You see dear, you have to stop and think about those things a moment. They think three now, but will they think three after having the second. You should of let them push and just went with it, knowing that in the back of your head." Rolling his eyes some.
"I doubt he would sell your horse and the like. Besides, you work for Piper, not Malik. I'm the one that works for Malik, technically." Technicalities...they were fun sometimes. But a nod at her. "Good you know that, now next time how about we try to apply it, hm?" Though a shake of his head. "Day still isn't over...though you won't be doing anythign fun for the rest of it, seeing as you got hurt."
A look at him before she merely set Zykariel down and let him excitedly toddle off before Malik took thier son as well. A shake of her head. "She said no. I'm not going to make her if she thinks things are going to go so terribly wrong, no matter what number it may be. She's not the only one who can make sure things." Yes, she was doing that hardball thing...women and sticking to thier words sometimes.
Staring then at the apple she had been handed back. He was giving out food orders again. "Just because you'll fuss at me if I don't." Which meant if she was going to make herself something it was going to be something little, like a sandwich.
He watched his friend go off then blinked as he was pulled to his father, and he made a noise. "What we talking about numbers for?" Before beaming at the little acknowledgement to think that he was getting bigger, and he blinked again, tilting his head. "Ummm....talking?" Close enough for him.

A shake of her head, "Not Piper. She's far too stubborn and will never admit when she's actually down. That's why she fights my orders for bedrest every change she gets. She thinks she's up to doing all of these different things and that I'm just crazy. Besides...she wants a baby girl."
Zykariel chose that moment to appear, running over and climbing up onto his mother's lap so that both of them were sitting on Sevilin. He hugged her tightly and then glanced up. "Did you tell Piper you're sorry?"
Her fingers found their way into his hair, just like they always did when he hugged her this tightly. She rested her cheek against the top of his head and sighed. "Sometimes, little one, it's a little harder to say you're sorry than other times. I will say it to her, just not right now." Pulling him back and tilting his head up some. "But I can say sorry to you for yelling and telling you things that weren't true. I'm also sorry for scaring you, both when I grabbed you out of reverie and when I told you we weren't coming back."

"sort of. it's talking...in someone's head. like I do. except i have to have a tool to do it, and you can do it naturally. lets give it a try. call Yinn here, but do it with the voice in your head, and don't open your mouth."
A glance at Piper.
"No. you're getting Zahara's help. you don't know alchemy or potion making and I won't have you trying experiments on yourself."

"You get wrecked up bad enough and you listen. I listened didn't I?" Sure had. She'd told him to lay the hell down and stay there...and he had. Sometimes you knew when to just stop. Though he did snicker. "Sounds more like Malik's issue to give her a girl." But his attention turned to thier son as he toddled in and duely climbed on up. A pat at the child's head. "They'll stop being mean to each other eventually."
"Oooh." That made sense...he guessed. Point is he knew what daddy was talking about. A blink, an odd look as he scrunched up his nose a moment before tilting his head back to look up at his father. "I can do that?" Wow that was news. "How can mine be better than mommy's? She's older, and she's mommy." But he shrugged and then decided to give it a try, calling for Yinn, but only in his head.
"Can still learn things. People do write books on how to do things you know. And I'm not that stupid Malik. I know what I can't have and can find out how things work together. And there's always surface things." Which weren't nearly as effective, but they still existed. Walking back over to the table with yes a sandwich...stumbling a moment on her way there as the little draithix, now wearing little custom boots, who popped up on the table a moment later had darted between her ankles. "Need a bell on that thing..."

"It's okay. Sometimes Khai and I take a little while to say we're sorry and make up too. Piper knows you love her just like I do." He turned to his father for a moment and tugged on his braid. "Daddy? Would you rather the people you love didn't fight at all or fought only when it was really important?" He had that deep, thoughtful look on his face as he fiddled with the braid and then glanced up inquisitively.
Amazing Sevilin's knees didn't break with all the weight he was currently holding. Of course he wouldn't agree with that. She weighed practically nothing and the child weighed nothing in his book. Inclined to disagree, she decided to keep such a comment to herself. She had a lot to think about, a lot to go over in her mind and she had to agree. Malik was responsible for giving Piper a girl. Hopefully the child would look like Piper though, a girl version of Malik would be too much to handle. But then a girl version of Sevilin wouldn't be bad. His red eyes and long silky hair. She'd braid it into pigtails when the child was small and let her decide as she grew up how she wanted to wear it. Tiny skirts and shirts and even pants if she wanted. And another pair of little boots. She could even have her ears pierced or her navel if she wanted, but not until she was older, Zahara decided. A navel ring had to be taken care of specially and a child was too little to do that. She'd learn how to cook and they would have those moments where flour would be streaked on cheeks and clothes. Dolls instead of blocks and pretending to be a princess instead of a knight. But not one of those ditzy princesses. Her daughter would be taught to be strong and defend herself but be able to ask for help and know how to hug and kiss and love. Everything she'd never had as a little girl. Her lips lifted and she wrapped her arms around Zykariel, resting her chin on the top of his head as she thought about it.

"and there he is."
though a slight grin at his wife.
"If you can get a bell on it that would stay be my guest. and you are not performing any experiments on yourself, period. that stubborn woman will lighten up."
then back to his son.
"Mom had an accident that crippled hers. she can still do it but not too well. that's why you need to know about it and how to use it properly so yours doesn't have something like that happen to it."

Children and thier questions. "People need to fight sometimes. If we didn't then other people wouldn't know how deeply we feel on something. It's not generally about who's right or wrong, but about getting what you really want to say out there...you say things you normally wouldn't when you're fighting." Giving his son a smile and a pointed look to Zahara after that little explaination. Though it seemed Zahara was lost in her own little thought pool land, her eyes gazing off to someplace only she could see. Leaning over, he pressed a kiss to her cheek to perhaps bring her out of it before he turned his attention back to his son.
He gave a smile and a giggle, holding out his arms to the creature who promptly jumped onto him and took to licking at his face before gnawing on various parts of the little elf. Yinn was getting rather big these days, and his scales were almost totally solid. A look over to mommy at the mention of how hers wasn't all good. Crippled wasn't a good word, he knew that. "Isn't using it being proper with it? What makes it proper?" Indeed, there was a question to ask. "How come you can't do it without something?"
She picked at her sandwich a moment. "I don't want her to lighten up. Then she'll just be doing it out of spite. If she's going to have a change of heart then she's just going to have to get contracted with me to make sure she's not going to feel reponsible for..." death was the word but the child was in the room, "...something going wrong. Absolve her worries." Yes she was being quite stubborn about this.

"the elves of my home don't have that ability naturally. So we often have made tools to help us. Some cna do it if they study and train themselves hard enough, but even then it's very fleeting and weak."
then a small grin at the questions.
"Using it doesn't make it proper. see you can talk in peoples heads, but you can also learn things, see things. memories, thoughts. it's reffered to by others as 'reading minds'. like a book."
a bit of a thinking look there.
"there are somethings in people's minds that are private. personal thoughts or memories that other people shouldn't know without permission or a reason to know. like when you play pirates. it wouldn't be nice to use this gift to say, know where Zykariel hid all the loot, would it. it wouldn't be very fun for him if you knew where it all was, and he had to search."

"That's what I thought too. Sometimes people say they would rather fights didn't happen but I think you only really fight with people that you love. I guess because you know that no matter what they always will love you. like Mommy. SHe gets mad and she yells at you adn sometimes she throws things at you but you still love her. So she gets to throw things at you and get all her anger out and then seh can be happy again instead of keeping it all inside where it would my head." He nodded quite happy with his deductions. "And then you either catch the stuff or it smashes and you clean it up. So you're happy and so is she."
Lots of hugs and kisses. On the forehead, on the nose, bat kisses before bed..and on the cheek. Like that one. Her hand lifted for a moment, brushing over it and then she leaned against him snuggling against his chest. They'd have another little one to pop up in the middle of the night on them too. Lying there, snuggling in bed and that almighty creak of the door that she wouldn't let Sevilin fix even though it drove him crazy. Could you imagine if they didn't have that creak? Their poor babies would be so scarred for life there would be nothing they could ever do to make it better. But she'd climb up in her little nightgown and snuggle against them and tell them about her reverie ro the noise she heard. And Sevilin would be the almighty father figure who would crush spiders and check for jerhegs under the bed.

Heh the genes worked in his favor. Not that he knew that, to him it was just something fun he got from mommy. That was fun to do since he looked like daddy. And apparently he was a great climber too. "So being proper with it means knowing who I can talk to and what I can read without making people angry?" At least he asked the very good questions...frivilous ones were for times when he wasn't learning things and merely had silly thoughts in his head. Shaking his head at the points his father made. No it wouldn't be fun. Then a blink and another look up and he was holding Yinn at bay with both hands. "Can we fix mommy's?"
Piper shook her head at that, leaning on an elbow on the table. "Mine can't be fixed darling." A lot of her couldn't be fixed if she really looked at it. Telepathy, ear, fertility, fear of most surface elves...and the list went on from there as well, those are the things that just came to mind first. Hehe...slump time for her. Then again, she was never good at being told no and accepting things too easily.
A slight chuckle. "Though do note that throwing things aren't good. You shouldn't throw things at people. Yelling is okay...throwing and hitting and the like are not. Someone could get physically hurt adn that's not good." Not to mention all the things they would have to replace. Money was something that didn't need to be wasted in that fashion. Though it seemed Zahara was going to stay off in her own land, reguardless of what he did. Women did that sometimes. "Speaking of clean, you need a bath tonight...jsut informing you now."

A slight snicker.
"well...we could fix it...but them mommy wouldn't look like mommy anymore and then someone else would look like mommy and it woudl be all confusing and just a big pain. and I like how your mother looks, don't you?"
and a nod.
"Exactly. like when I'm working, you can talk to me but that's all. no reading. and no reading the ogres except for Broog. trust me it'll give you bad memories you won't want to reverie about."
