I could understand if it was for malicious purposes (i.e. trying to keep people from bidding/buying in order to get an item yourself) but not being able to warn people that they're being cheated....that sucks. I wonder if they still count it if you PM the person the info?

About the house-item scam... as I understand it, the victim (usually a newbie) gets a PM purporting to offer a rare item at a really great price. The PM tells them to take a look at the Buy Now prices in the marketplace for comparison.
The victim then goes to the marketplace, does a search, and sees a list of the same item all at much higher prices. Since there are so many at those prices, the victim never even clicks one of them, and thus never sees the Store Price line. Especially if it's a newbie who doesn't know about that line in the item description.
So, thinking they are getting a great deal, they do a trade for the item, directly from the PM -- not in the exchange or the marketplace.
Makes you wonder about those PMs you got when you created your new mule, don't it?
Regarding the "disruption of sales," I was wondering the same thing. If you were like a guardian angel and PM'd people would that get you banned? Dunno, but I suspect a seller would eventually find out and report you.

Sorry to drag you into my bummer, Ananda. Really. I'm just feeling really discouraged to find this kind of stuff going on in a place that I thought was fairly well-regulated. Live and learn.

Ummmm...Oh! The GM of Dead Rising has been really busy lately, so he gave me temprorary GM status when he's not able to be on. eek He says I'm the one that understands his vision for the direction of the game the best.

What do you do as a GM?
Also, do you feel okay to tell me the ideas of the two stories you wanted to write?

Basically, if he's not around, I can spawn zombies and shops, enforce the rules and kill people for making stupid decisions (i.e. someone goes running into a group of 20 zombies armed with only a wet noodle. They're pretty much going to get eaten for that.). Although right now, everyone's got "intro armor", meaning that even if they make a huge tactical error, they won't be killed for it, just wounded.
I don't mind sharing my story ideas at all. They're a little complicated, do you want me to PM you?

Sure a PM would be great. I hope to encourage you. I feel strongly about doing that -- especially in creative endeavors.
I'm thinking more and more about starting that Literary Salon I talked about. I would like to have a list of at least a dozen people to invite. I don't expect everyone to be there each time, but I'd like to see half a dozen at least at each meeting.
If you know anyone who'd be interested, please let me know.

Ananda;
my vision is to meet once a month in my Gaia home, maybe on a weeknight, at a time of night that would be agreeable to people in different time zones (I'd take a vote).
It would be primarily an opportunity to hang out and chat in real time with others about books we've read, movies we've seen, and maybe even share our own works... poetry readings for example.
If we wanted, we could send longer works, or artwork, by PM in advance of the meeting night, so folks could have a chance to review and prepare comments.
So it could work as a writer's/artist's circle, too, if we wanted.
