Jolly's family doesn't understand either. Her mom thinks it's bad that she spend so much time online and says she needs to go out and do something.
But Jolly doesn't have any friends since she moved, so what is she supposed to do?

Yeah. The answer is stay online! Just because I'm antisocial in real life doesn't mean I don't have a social life... Besides, it's easier to find interesting people here. Less testing the waters, ne?

And no one judges anyone online. Hell Jolly has said she likes yaoi and cute pantsu and no one says eww.
People don't understand the quirks of Jolly in real life.
And Jolly doesn't have to worry about anyone rejected her.

what do parents expect out of children with a unique gift? normality.... thats what parents want from theyr kids who are different... one way to get the parent to support the child in being different is... well there are several ways... one is to confront them... make them accpt you for who you are... thats what i did and my mother accepts my indifference to other people... my father on the other hand wants me to be normal... i told him i will never be normal... being normal will cause me to go on a rampage of chaos...

Jolly has no gift, she's just different. She doesn't like people or making friends. She wants her old friends back.
Jolly used to be really social, she would go out and have fun all the time. But then her homophobic religous grandma got sick and she had to move 150miles away.

Yeah... it's all a matter of putting a mask on for others. Parents especially... I've been having issues with mine, and I'm only five weeks away from moving out for good.
Online is better, whether people admit it or not.
