Daypaw I have a sister that lived in Las Vegas for a while- she spoke horror stories about the heat and lack of snow. Hehe, lack of snow. It has snowed here every winter since I arrived 5 years ago. Last winter was particularly snowy.

I am really worried about someone. She's missed three periods, tried the forced period treatment to no effect, has monthly cramping without any other period effect or discharge, and is freaking out. She went to her gyno, they told her she was not pregnant and everything checked out. But she is panicking. She's afraid her boyfriend will leave her because she thinks she might not be able to have kids and he's very serious about that. I am not sure how to comfort or console her, not sure what to say at all, and I am really concerned about her as this could be something extremely serious and she probably is not going to get appropriate care for it.

my biggest advice on that one exxos is to not worry. Stress can screw up a menstrual cycle more than just about anything on a regular basis. If she is a high stress person who is also a very low weight it may be her body doing its natural sort of self protection thing that it does... yoga, meditation, swimming is great, getting enough sleep, all important things. Female hormones are wacky and when they get out of whack all sorts of weird things happen.

by the way, we had our last class tonight for our "Jai Ho" choreography. this is my little after the performance avi. smile I wish I could post the video for you all, but it is THIER choreography and they dont want it freely posted all over youtube n stuff. One of the younger indian girls came up to me, she looked like a tall 9 or 10 year old, and she told me I was REALLY good. Those are the best compliments! from total stranger kids. smile probably that made my night. That and the fact that the performance group wants me in this bit for a show theyre doing in September. Yay!

She's really stressed, but she is not low weight, she's quite podgy and sedentary and lazy and eats too much junk food. I guess you're right though, the best thing I can do is not stress so we're not BOTH nervous wrecks.

@ joe - The pole comes from the "totally innocent objects" item.. it's supposed to be a fireman's pole lol But as soon as my fallen wish fully evolved I just had to do a stripper/pole dancer avi lol @ Exxos - *huggles for your friend* I'm not a doctor by any stretch of the imagination.. keep that in mind lol.. but it sounds like your friend may have the same thing I have.. (or guess I have as I don't have the money for proper doctor's either) PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome - you can look here for more info.. but I can give you some hope in the fact that one of my best friends has suffered with this most of adult life and she's doing just fine.. Though I won't lie.. the chances of having kids goes way down.. And as far as I'm aware the only treatment for this atm is to be put on birth control to try and regulate your hormones.. but having PCOS doesn't mean or guarantee you'll end up with cancer or NEVER be able to have kids.. If I was her I would see about getting a diabetic test done as well just to be sure.. Feel free to PM me with any further questions and let me know what she finds out k? Happy Hump day all!!

Exxos - definitely look into PCOS like Erin says. Sometimes women who are borderline cases can push themselves over the edge with bad diet and weight gain. Too much sugar in particular can exacerbate the symptoms. It's true that there is no official treatment but a good diet and exercise really can help lesson the problem.
I've been dealing with some of the symptoms of this all my life as well - in the past there were times I went without a period for up to 6 months at a time. Luckily I still managed to have two children.
I'm not saying that this is what it is though - there are a lot of different reasons menstruation can be thrown out of sync temporarily. In fact, most friends I've talked to about it over the years have gone through something similar at least once in their lives - for varying or unknown reasons.

I am not sure what happened but I am grumpy right now. Grumpy enough to warn my lil ones to watch out for daddy today. Tori is a bit afraid right now cause she is not use to seeing daddy not happy.

I passed on the PCOS and diabetes info. She does not know if they looked into that. confused She's forcing the period forcing pills, much to my protest, who knows what OD'ing on that would do. She's a poster child for bad diet, weight gain, panicking over stupid things (worse than me at times), and not exercising.

She's a poster child for bad diet, weight gain, panicking over stupid things (worse than me at times), and not exercising. How long did she wait for the pills to take effect? I took those once and they didn't work until about 3 or 4 days later. And when they did it came on so violently I felt dizzy and threw up a bunch. If I were you I would suggest she do NOT take more than she should.
