'See you later, Shinichi-san' Yokome said as she poured herself some more tea.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 31, 2006 8:30 pm

Makoto leaned back pressing her hand to her forehead. She looked at her two new younger sister Arikku and Miharu.

"Girls, I am happy that I can be your older sister, but as you may or may not have seen, there have been some problems at the Okiya....and I am thinking about leaving Hinohasu. I do not wish to burden any other maid and maiko's success as a geisha so if it is better to leave, I think I'd rather do that."

She stood up accendently knocking over her empty sake bottle, head to the exit, leaving without a word. She walked down to the side of the tea house sqauting down, not daring to mess up her kimono, she looked up at the star filled sky with a small sigh, perhaps this life was not as glamourous as she hoped.

"Oh, Shinichi-san, you're so quiet. Please, come by again!" She smiled to him warmly, although she felt horrible for ignoring him.

Iyasu sipped her sake and listened to the conversation around her. Makoto mentioned something about leaving her okiya. Her blue orbs flicked over to the direction of Makoto. Before she knew it, the other geisha accidently knocked over a sake flask and left without a sound.

"Oh my . . . I'll get a maid to clean it up. Becareful girls, don't ruin your kimono!" With the orinaments in her hair making small chimes as she moved, the Mizunoyuri geisha floated out of the room, like gushing stream taking on its own tiny rapids. She asked a maid to clean up the expanding mess of liquid and also if she had seen the direction of a fleeting geisha. Once she got the information she needed, Iyasu headed out side, along the side of the ochaya, and found Makoto gazing up into the night sky. She eased over to other geisha, without making too much sound.

"Makoto-san? Is everything all right?" The tone in her voice was serene and silky soft.

Makoto turned her head quickly the chimes in her own hair chimes singing in the breeze the seemed as sad as her heart was, her eyes on the brim of tears.

"Ah! Iysau! I...I am sorry I did not mean to storm out I just wanted to clear my head. I've been having so much stress at the okiya and..."

She sighed putting her face in her hands.

"I'm being foolish talking about leaving my Okiya and find another, who would want me?"

Makoto began to laugh hystericly, her body shaking.

She glided over to Makoto and sat down next to her. She placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled.

"Do not worry, Makoto-san. This life is a hard one to live . . ." Iyasu cooed while she wrapped an arm around the other geisha's shoulders and tried to calm her down. "I'm sure if you wanted too, you could leave. But what about your younger sisters? Do they belong to the same okiya?"

Makoto sniffed rubbing her teary eyes trying to stop crying before they could become red and puffy.

"When I was back in Hinata, I knew who I was, Makoto, daughter of a blacksmith and a silkweaver. I was in love with the daimyo, my childhood friend, we'd spar together and test out father's wepons and armor, it was queit alot of fun. But now I am Makoto the geisha, but thats all I know."

She sniffed a bit thinking about the two sisters she took on.

"Miharu and Arikku, yes they are both from Hinohasu like myself. They asked me to be their sister even though of my low experience. They didn't mind one bit they treated me as if I was a well sesson geisha like Nitta-san. I would feel bad to leave them but I don't want to burn down the success of all the other maiko's or maids. I wonder what they would all say though, one little fight shouldn't get me down so, right?"

"Of course, Makoto-san. This life of a geisha is not an easy path because you must keep everything inside. It hurts . . . trust me . . . I know." Iy-chan pulled out a hankerchief from her obi and handed it to her, "But you are doing fine though! The patron like you and so do your younger sister, Miharu and Arriku. They asked you to be their older sister above anyone else. I'm looking to take on a younger sister, and I was about to take on Miharu to be my younger sister, but she asked you, Makoto-san."

She looked out into the night sky and exhaled leisurely. Iyasu's hazel eyes changed to light honey instead of their dark blue. Her dreams of becoming a geisha have come true . . . but how long would they last?

"You and I have both chosen this life of a geisha, ne? A single fight along this hard road is nothing when you look into the great sea of life. This sea births waves that roll and roll and roll to grow bigger and bigger, until they reach the white crest at the very tip and crash down again onto the sandy shore. Then after the cloudy crests are destoried, the sea rolls back what it gave birth to repeat the cycle." She smiled thoughtfully to Makoto, "My point is that, no matter if this fight was the peak of the wave at your okiya, everything will wash away again and start over. Unless, do something about it and help yourself and the others around you."

Yukiko felt uncomfortable after seeing Makoto leave so abruptly.
Because this was her first experience in a teahouse, she did not know what to do, or if she should do anything for that matter. Was this another game the geisha had devised? A look of puzzlement crossed Yukiko's face as she sat there quitely observing.

"Is something wrong? Is someone bothering you?" Shagatsu asked politely.

Makoto used the kernishif to pat her tears away.

"Yes, I was inspired by a retired geisha in my village. It is quiet a big sea, life, but I wish to make my mark some how. One day I want to be known as a famous Geisha, but I think I'm a bit to brash, I have held wepons in these hands before I ever practice a dance, back i my village people said that teh battles Ryuujin and I took part in looked like dances but thats about it."

Miharu wondered if she had done the right thing by pushing herself onto Makoto. The girl already had a lot on her plate, and she seemed to get along better with Arikku. And now there was a rumor that she was going to leave the Okiya, which would leave Miharu in a sticky situation. I guess I would follow her, all is said and done now. I just wish I hadn't rushed things so much.
She sighed as she sat on the bench in the courtyard.

Walks in and seats himself, buries his face in his hands. Raises hand and says, "Strongest Sake"

Miharu heard Shagatsu-san talking and rose to see what he needed.
She entered the room, she saw the new man,

"Konichiwa, sir, I am Miharu, a maiko of the Hinohasu Okiya, how may I serve you?"
She bowed low.
